App stuck in “Waiting for Review” for more than 30 days
Hello everyone, I’m experiencing an issue with the review process for my app on App Store Connect. My app has been stuck in “Waiting for Review” for over 30 days, and the review process has not started yet. Initially, I submitted the build on February 9, but the status remained “Waiting for Review” for a long time and never moved to “In Review.” Because of this, I canceled the submission and resubmitted the build on February 17. However, even after resubmitting, the app is still stuck in “Waiting for Review.” I also submitted a request for an expedited review, but unfortunately I have not received any response regarding that request either. Since the app status is still “Waiting for Review,” the Resolution Center option is not available yet, so I cannot contact the App Review team directly from there. I also attempted to contact Apple Developer Support but have not received a response yet. Has anyone experienced a similar situation where the app remained in “Waiting for Review” for this long? Any guidance or suggestions on how to move the review process forward would be greatly appreciated. Hi Apple Developer Support Team, I need urgent assistance with my Apple Developer Program enrollment. My details: Enrollment ID: AJ78LF239A Support Case: 102840241902 (opened 4 days ago, no response yet) Issue: I have completed all enrollment steps and entered my payment information correctly. When I click the "Continue" button to finalize the payment, the page freezes completely — no error message, no confirmation, nothing happens. DNS Issues?
I click in App Store Connect to view my app but there is a dns error. Tried Brave and Safari but have the same result. I just did update my Mac to Tahoe 26.4 . This site can’t be reached olympus-int.itunes.apple.com’s DNS address could not be found. Diagnosing the problem. DNS_PROBE_POSSIBLE

App stuck in "Waiting for Review" for over two weeks
Hello, I submitted my app for review for the first time about two weeks ago and it is still stuck in "Waiting for Review" with no update. I haven't received any feedback yet and I'm not sure if this kind of delay is normal or if something might be wrong. Has anyone experienced something similar? What did you do in this situation? I can't get my two apps reviewed.
One app submitted Feb 14th, one app submitted Feb 25th. Both apps are showing "Waiting for review". Neither has been rejected, not have any action taken place. I have one previous app published (Submitted June 30th, approved 1 July), but this is the first try for both of these apps. I put in a support ticket asking status of the first app but no response. Ca n anyone here confirm that I've done the submission right and am just waiting on Apple based on the screen shot attached? Clarification on clonefile / copyfile support of clone directories?
The man page of copyfile sates the following: COPYFILE_CLONE [..] Note also that there is no support for cloning directories" COPYFILE_CLONE_FORCE [...] Note also that there is no support for cloning directories: if a directory is provided as the source, an error will be returned. Now the man page for clonefile: > Cloning directories with these functions is strongly discouraged. Use copyfile(3) to clone directories instead. -- So am I to enumerate the content of a directory build subfolders along the way in the target destination and clone each file inside individually? If I recall NSFileManager seems to clone a large directory instantly (edit actually I remembered wrong NSFileManager does not do this. Finder seems to copy instead of clone as well). On further inspection, clonefile states that it can do this, but it is discouraged. Interesting. I wonder why. If src names a directory, the directory hierarchy is cloned as if each item was cloned individually. However, the use of clonefile(2) to clone directory hierarchies is strongly discouraged. Use copyfile(3) instead for copying directories. P.S. - Forgive me if I posting this in the wrong category, I couldn't find a "category" in the list of available categories on these forums that seems appropriate for this question.

Wrong appearance of decimalPad keyboard in dark mode
Hi. The following code causes UI mismatch on iOS26. Keyboard with type decimalPad and appearance as dark is displayed as popUp with wrong colors. Before iOS26 keyboard was regular with correct color scheme. Unable to test my apps, crashing with provisioning profile validation
Since around September (iOS 26 release), i'm unable to test my app normally. It says "internet connection is required to verify [my certificate id]", or just crashing. All terms and conditions accepted, everything is valid, certificates are OK. Reinstallation via xcode does not help. Removal of provisioning profile, generating new does not help. Revoking of certificate and generating new does for around week, then it happens again, but do i need to do it every week now? In logs i see the following: default amfid validation failed because of missing trust and/or authorization (0xe8008026) error amfid not valid: 0xe8008026: The provisioning profile requires online authorization. error amfid Unexpected MISError (0xe8008026): The provisioning profile requires online authorization. default +0300 amfid /private/var/containers/Bundle/Application/5B8E560E-75B2-46EF-8606-02072D99E9CF//Frameworks/oss.dylib not valid: Error Domain=AppleMobileFileIntegrityError Code=-400 "An unknown error was encountered" UserInfo={NSURL=file:///private/var/containers/Bundle/Application/5B8E560E-75B2-46EF-8606-02072D99E9CF//Frameworks/oss.dylib, NSLocalizedDescription=An unknown error was encountered} default kernel AMFI: code signature validation failed. It looks like apple validation servers are not working, or is it iOS bug? All provisioning profiles are showing like "valid" in apple developer center. My network is not behind a proxy, connection is direct. If use EXACTLY the same app, signed with the same provisioning, same signature, on another test device, it works! When i reset current device to default settings and installing the EXACTLY same app after it, it works as well. Looking for a help from apple developer support

Help with visionOS pushWindow issues requested
I first started using the SwiftUI pushWindow API in visionOS 26.2, and I've reported several bugs I discovered, listed below. Under certain circumstances, pushed window relationships may break, and this behavior affects all other apps, not just the app that caused the problem, until the next device reboot. In other cases, the system may crash and restart. (FB21287011) When a window presented with pushWindow is dismissed, its parent window reappears in the wrong location (FB21294645) Pinning a pushed window to a wall breaks pushWindow for all other apps on the system (FB21594646) pushWindow interacts poorly with the window bar close app option (FB21652261) If a window locked to a wall calls pushWindow, the original window becomes unlocked (FB21652271) If a window locked in place calls pushWindow and the pushed window is closed, the system freezes (FB21828413) pushWindow, UIApplication.open, and a dismissed immersive space result in multiple failures that require a device reboot (FB21840747) visionOS randomly foregrounds a backgrounded immersive space app with a pushed window's parent window visible instead of the pushed window (FB21864652) When a running app is selected in the visionOS home view, windows presented with pushWindow spontaneously close (FB21873482) Pushed windows use the fixed scaling behavior instead of the dynamic scaling behavior I'm posting the issues here in case this information is helpful to other developers. I'd also like to hear about other pushWindow issues developers have encountered, so I can watch out for them. Questions: I've discovered that some of the issues above can be partially worked around by applying the defaultLaunchBehavior and restorationBehavior scene modifiers to suppress window restoration and locking, which pushWindow appears to interact poorly with. Are there other recommended workarounds? I've observed that the Photos and Settings apps, which predate the pushWindow API, are not affected by the issues I reported. Are there other more reliable ways I could achieve the same behavior as pushWindow without relying on that API? I'd appreciate any guidance Apple engineers could provide. Thank you.

Behavior of Bookmark URLs and Files App Recently Deleted – Clarification and Potential Bug
I am developing an iOS/iPadOS application and have encountered some behavior regarding Files App and security-scoped bookmarks that I would like to clarify. Additionally, I would like to report some behavior which might include a potential issue. Question1: Accessing deleted files via bookmark (Specification clarification) Our app saves file URLs as bookmarks, which file that user has selected on Files App or app-created so to open a file which user has modified previously in the next launch. When a user deletes a file in Files App (moves a file to Recently Deleted), the app can still resolve the bookmark and access the file for read/write operations. Is this behavior intended? In other words, is it correct that a bookmark can access a file that has been deleted in Files App but not permanently removed? Question2: Overwriting a file in Recently Deleted (Potential bug) We noticed that overwriting a file in Recently Deleted behaves differently depending on the method used. Current implementation 1.Create a temporary file in the same directory 2.Write content to the temporary file 3.Delete the original file ([NSFileManager removeItemAtURL:error:]) 4.Move the temporary file to the original file path ([NSFileManager moveItemAtURL:toURL:error:]) Result: The file disappears from Files App Recently Deleted. In contrast, using [NSFileManager replaceItemAtURL:withItemAtURL:] keeps the file visible in Recently Deleted. Is this difference designed behavior? If not, this may be a bug. Question3: Detecting files in Recently Deleted We want to detect whether a file resides in Recently Deleted, but we cannot find a reliable and officially supported method. Recently Deleted files appear under .Trash, but using the path alone is not a reliable method. We have tried the following APIs without success: [NSURL getResourceValue:forKey:NSURLIsHiddenKey error:] [NSURL checkResourceIsReachableAndReturnError:] [NSFileManager fileExistsAtPath:] [NSFileManager isReadableFileAtPath:] [NSFileManager getRelationship:ofDirectory:NSTrashDirectory inDomain:NSUserDomainMask toItemAtURL:error:] We could not obtain the Recently Deleted folder URL using standard APIs. [NSFileManager URLsForDirectory:NSTrashDirectory inDomains:NSUserDomainMask] [NSFileManager URLForDirectory:NSTrashDirectory inDomain:NSUserDomainMask appropriateForURL:url create:error:] Could you advise a safe and supported way to detect Recently Deleted files properly by the app?

Family Controls extensions stuck in "Submitted"
Hi, I’m requesting the Family Controls distribution capability for my app and its extensions. The main app bundle ID was approved within 1 day. However, I later realized the associated extensions (Shield Configuration, Device Activity Monitor, Device Activity Report) also require separate approval. I submitted those extension requests 4 days ago, and they are still in "Submitted" with no updates. This is currently blocking me from proceeding with TestFlight/App Store submission, since the extensions require the approved capability. Is this delay expected for extension bundle IDs? SwiftData Models and SortDesc. Only Work in One Swift File
Hey everyone, I found a possible SwiftData Release-only issue with nested sort descriptors on an optional relationship. In a minimal repro, sorting a @Query by a nested optional relationship key path like: SortDescriptor(\InvestigationPhotoAsset.imageAnalysis?.overallAestheticsScore, order: .reverse) works in Debug, but crashes at runtime in Release. The surprising part is that the crash depends on file layout: if the active SwiftData models and the sort logic are kept in the same Swift file, the app works if the same models are split into separate files, the Release build crashes, 'Debug' will also work The repro was reduced to just two SwiftData models: InvestigationPhotoAsset InvestigationImageAnalysis So this looks less like an app-modeling issue and more like a SwiftData/compiler/codegen issue related to nested sort metadata in optimized builds. Explicit dynamic loading of a framework in macOS - recommended approach?
I am working on a cross-platform application where, on Android and Windows, I explicitly load dynamic libraries at runtime (e.g., LoadLibrary/GetProcAddress on Windows and equivalent mechanisms on Android). This allows me to control when and how modules are loaded, and to transfer execution flow from the main executable into the dynamically loaded library. I want to follow a similar approach on macOS (and also iOS) and explicitly load a framework (instead of relying on implicit linking via import). From my exploration so far, I have come across the following options: Using Bundle (NSBundle) - Load framework using: let bundle = Bundle(path: path) try bundle?.load() Access functionality via NSPrincipalClass and @objc methods (class-based entry) Using dlopen + dlsym Load the framework binary and resolve symbols: let handle = dlopen(path, RTLD_NOW) let sym = dlsym(handle, "EntryPoint") Expose Swift functions using @_cdecl Using a hybrid approach (Bundle + dlsym) - Use Bundle for loading and dlsym for symbol access From what I understand: Bundle works well for class-based/plugin-style designs using the Objective-C runtime while dlopen/dlsym works at the symbol level and is closer to what I am doing on other platforms However, my requirement is specifically: Explicit runtime loading (not compile-time linking) Ability to transfer execution flow from the main executable into the dynamically loaded framework **What is the recommended approach on macOS for this kind of explicit dynamic loading, or is implicit loading the way to go? Also, would it differ for interactive and non-interactive apps? ** In what scenarios would Apple recommend using Bundle instead of dlopen? Is there any other methods best for this explicit loading of frameworks on Apple?

How to sign a DEXT
Kevin's Guide to DEXT Signing The question of "How do I sign a DEXT" comes up a lot, so this post is my attempt to describe both what the issues are and the best current solutions are. So... The Problems: When DEXTs were originally introduced, the recommended development signing process required disabling SIP and local signing. There is a newer, much simpler process that's built on Xcode's integrated code-signing support; however, that newer process has not yet been integrated into the documentation library. In addition, while the older flow still works, many of the details it describes are no longer correct due to changes to Xcode and the developer portal. DriverKit's use of individually customized entitlements is different than the other entitlements on our platform, and Xcode's support for it is somewhat incomplete and buggy. The situation has improved considerably over time, particularly from Xcode 15 and Xcode 16, but there are still issues that are not fully resolved. To address #1, we introduced "development" entitlement variants of all DriverKit entitlements. These entitlement variants are ONLY available in development-signed builds, but they're available on all paid developer accounts without any special approval. They also allow a DEXT to match against any hardware, greatly simplifying working with development or prototype hardware which may not match the configuration of a final product. Unfortunately, this also means that DEXT developers will always have at least two entitlement variants (the public development variant and the "private" approved entitlement), which is what then causes the problem I mentioned in #2. The Automatic Solution: If you're using Xcode 16 or above, then Xcode's Automatic code sign support will work all DEXT Families, with the exception of distribution signing the PCI and USB Families. For completeness, here is how that Automatic flow should work: Change the code signing configuration to "Automatic". Add the capability using Xcode. (USB & PCI) Edit your Entitlement.plist to include the correct "Development Only" configuration: USB Development Only Configuration: <key>com.apple.developer.driverkit.transport.usb</key> <array> <dict> <key>idVendor</key> <string>*</string> </dict> </array> PCI Development Only Configuration: <key>com.apple.developer.driverkit.transport.pci</key> <array> <dict> <key>IOPCIPrimaryMatch</key> <string>0xFFFFFFFF&amp;0x00000000</string> </dict> </array> If you've been approved for one of these entitlements, the one oddity you'll see is that adding your approved capability will add both the approved AND the development variant, while deleting either will delete both. This is a visual side effect of #2 above; however, aside from the exception described below, it can be ignored. Similarly, you can sign distribution builds by creating a build archive and then exporting the build using the standard Xcode flow. Debugging Automatic Code-signing In a new project, the flow I describe above should just work; however, if you're converting an existing project, you may get code signing errors, generally complaining about how the provisioning profile configuration doesn't match. In most cases, this happens because Xcode is choosing to reuse a previously downloaded profile with an older configuration instead of generating a new configuration which would then include the configuration changes you made. Currently, you can find these profile files in: ~/Library/Developer/Xcode/UserData/Provisioning Profiles ...which can make it easier to find and delete the specific profile (if you choose). However, one recommendation I'd have here is to not treat the contents of that folder as "precious" or special. What automatic code signing actually does is generate provisioning profiles "on demand", so if you delete an automatic profile... Xcode will just generate it again at the next build. Manually generating profiles is more cumbersome, but the solution there is to preserve them as a separate resource, probably as part of your project data, NOT to just "lose" them in the folder here. If they get deleted from Xcode's store, then you can just copy them back in from your own store (or using Xcode, which can manually download profiles as well). The advantage of this approach is that when profiles "pile up" over time (which they tend to do), you can just delete[1] all of them then let Xcode regenerate the ones you're actually trying to investigate. In terms of looking at their contents, TN3125: Inside Code Signing: Provisioning Profiles has the details of how to see exactly what's there. Content Filter Permission Prompt Not Appearing in TestFlight
I added a Content Filter to my app, and when running it in Xcode (Debug/Release), I get the expected permission prompt: "Would like to filter network content (Allow / Don't Allow)". However, when I install the app via TestFlight, this prompt doesn’t appear at all, and the feature doesn’t work. Is there a special configuration required for TestFlight? Has anyone encountered this issue before? Thanks!

.contactAccessPicker shows blank sheet on iOS 26.1
I’m running into an issue using .contactAccessPicker on a device running iOS 26.1 - a blank sheet appears instead of the expected Contact Access Picker. It works on: Simulator (iOS 26.0) Device + Simulator (iOS 18.6) The issue appears specific to real devices on iOS 26.0+. Xcode 26.3 Claude Agent — 401 Invalid Bearer Token on Intel Mac (FB22141224)
I've been investigating a persistent 401 Invalid Bearer Token error with Claude Agent in Xcode 26.3 on an Intel Core i9 Mac and wanted to share my findings here in case others are affected. ENVIRONMENT Hardware: Intel Core i9 (x86_64) Xcode: 26.3 (17C529) macOS: 26.3 (25D125) THE ISSUE Claude Agent fails with "Failed to authenticate. API Error: 401 - Invalid bearer token" on every prompt, despite the account showing as Signed In under Settings → Intelligence. The error persists after signing out and back in, and the token is confirmed valid and unexpired in Keychain. WHAT WORKS Claude Code in Terminal works perfectly on the same machine with the same credentials The basic Claude Sonnet 4.5 coding assistant in Xcode works fine Only Claude Agent is affected ROOT CAUSE HYPOTHESIS Xcode appears to be installing an ARM64 Claude binary on Intel Macs silently, with no warning or fallback. This binary likely fails to execute on x86_64 hardware and that failure is being misreported upstream as a 401 authentication error — which is why the error has nothing to do with the actual credentials. APPLE'S RESPONSE Feedback report FB22141224 was closed as 'Works as currently designed' with the explanation that Claude Agent requires the Neural Engine found on Apple Silicon. However, Claude Agent calls Anthropic's remote API over the network and performs no on-device AI processing — the Neural Engine is not involved. The fact that Claude Code works fine on this same Intel Mac with the same credentials demonstrates this clearly. WORKAROUND Using an Anthropic API key instead of OAuth resolves the issue but requires additional paid billing outside of an existing Claude.ai subscription. Has anyone else experienced this on either Intel or Apple Silicon? I'd be particularly interested to hear if Apple Silicon users are also affected, as the Developer Forums suggest this may not be limited to Intel Macs (thread/816369). Any input from Apple DTS engineers would be greatly appreciated.

App stuck in status Waiting for Review since Feb 9
Our app with Apple ID 6752634390 has been in status Waiting for Review since Feb 09 which has been more than 20 days. And we have sent email via Contact Us two times already but no progress yet. Any one has any idea if there is anything we can do to move on?

Clarification on clonefile / copyfile support of clone directories?
The man page of copyfile sates the following: COPYFILE_CLONE [..] Note also that there is no support for cloning directories" COPYFILE_CLONE_FORCE [...] Note also that there is no support for cloning directories: if a directory is provided as the source, an error will be returned. Now the man page for clonefile: > Cloning directories with these functions is strongly discouraged. Use copyfile(3) to clone directories instead. -- So am I to enumerate the content of a directory build subfolders along the way in the target destination and clone each file inside individually? If I recall NSFileManager seems to clone a large directory instantly (edit actually I remembered wrong NSFileManager does not do this. Finder seems to copy instead of clone as well). On further inspection, clonefile states that it can do this, but it is discouraged. Interesting. I wonder why. If src names a directory, the directory hierarchy is cloned as if each item was cloned individually. However, the use of clonefile(2) to clone directory hierarchies is strongly discouraged. Use copyfile(3) instead for copying directories. P.S. - Forgive me if I posting this in the wrong category, I couldn't find a "category" in the list of available categories on these forums that seems appropriate for this question.

Wrong appearance of decimalPad keyboard in dark mode
Hi. The following code causes UI mismatch on iOS26. Keyboard with type decimalPad and appearance as dark is displayed as popUp with wrong colors. Before iOS26 keyboard was regular with correct color scheme. Unable to test my apps, crashing with provisioning profile validation
Since around September (iOS 26 release), i'm unable to test my app normally. It says "internet connection is required to verify [my certificate id]", or just crashing. All terms and conditions accepted, everything is valid, certificates are OK. Reinstallation via xcode does not help. Removal of provisioning profile, generating new does not help. Revoking of certificate and generating new does for around week, then it happens again, but do i need to do it every week now? In logs i see the following: default amfid validation failed because of missing trust and/or authorization (0xe8008026) error amfid not valid: 0xe8008026: The provisioning profile requires online authorization. error amfid Unexpected MISError (0xe8008026): The provisioning profile requires online authorization. default +0300 amfid /private/var/containers/Bundle/Application/5B8E560E-75B2-46EF-8606-02072D99E9CF//Frameworks/oss.dylib not valid: Error Domain=AppleMobileFileIntegrityError Code=-400 "An unknown error was encountered" UserInfo={NSURL=file:///private/var/containers/Bundle/Application/5B8E560E-75B2-46EF-8606-02072D99E9CF//Frameworks/oss.dylib, NSLocalizedDescription=An unknown error was encountered} default kernel AMFI: code signature validation failed. It looks like apple validation servers are not working, or is it iOS bug? All provisioning profiles are showing like "valid" in apple developer center. My network is not behind a proxy, connection is direct. If use EXACTLY the same app, signed with the same provisioning, same signature, on another test device, it works! When i reset current device to default settings and installing the EXACTLY same app after it, it works as well. Looking for a help from apple developer support

Help with visionOS pushWindow issues requested
I first started using the SwiftUI pushWindow API in visionOS 26.2, and I've reported several bugs I discovered, listed below. Under certain circumstances, pushed window relationships may break, and this behavior affects all other apps, not just the app that caused the problem, until the next device reboot. In other cases, the system may crash and restart. (FB21287011) When a window presented with pushWindow is dismissed, its parent window reappears in the wrong location (FB21294645) Pinning a pushed window to a wall breaks pushWindow for all other apps on the system (FB21594646) pushWindow interacts poorly with the window bar close app option (FB21652261) If a window locked to a wall calls pushWindow, the original window becomes unlocked (FB21652271) If a window locked in place calls pushWindow and the pushed window is closed, the system freezes (FB21828413) pushWindow, UIApplication.open, and a dismissed immersive space result in multiple failures that require a device reboot (FB21840747) visionOS randomly foregrounds a backgrounded immersive space app with a pushed window's parent window visible instead of the pushed window (FB21864652) When a running app is selected in the visionOS home view, windows presented with pushWindow spontaneously close (FB21873482) Pushed windows use the fixed scaling behavior instead of the dynamic scaling behavior I'm posting the issues here in case this information is helpful to other developers. I'd also like to hear about other pushWindow issues developers have encountered, so I can watch out for them. Questions: I've discovered that some of the issues above can be partially worked around by applying the defaultLaunchBehavior and restorationBehavior scene modifiers to suppress window restoration and locking, which pushWindow appears to interact poorly with. Are there other recommended workarounds? I've observed that the Photos and Settings apps, which predate the pushWindow API, are not affected by the issues I reported. Are there other more reliable ways I could achieve the same behavior as pushWindow without relying on that API? I'd appreciate any guidance Apple engineers could provide. Thank you.

Behavior of Bookmark URLs and Files App Recently Deleted – Clarification and Potential Bug
I am developing an iOS/iPadOS application and have encountered some behavior regarding Files App and security-scoped bookmarks that I would like to clarify. Additionally, I would like to report some behavior which might include a potential issue. Question1: Accessing deleted files via bookmark (Specification clarification) Our app saves file URLs as bookmarks, which file that user has selected on Files App or app-created so to open a file which user has modified previously in the next launch. When a user deletes a file in Files App (moves a file to Recently Deleted), the app can still resolve the bookmark and access the file for read/write operations. Is this behavior intended? In other words, is it correct that a bookmark can access a file that has been deleted in Files App but not permanently removed? Question2: Overwriting a file in Recently Deleted (Potential bug) We noticed that overwriting a file in Recently Deleted behaves differently depending on the method used. Current implementation 1.Create a temporary file in the same directory 2.Write content to the temporary file 3.Delete the original file ([NSFileManager removeItemAtURL:error:]) 4.Move the temporary file to the original file path ([NSFileManager moveItemAtURL:toURL:error:]) Result: The file disappears from Files App Recently Deleted. In contrast, using [NSFileManager replaceItemAtURL:withItemAtURL:] keeps the file visible in Recently Deleted. Is this difference designed behavior? If not, this may be a bug. Question3: Detecting files in Recently Deleted We want to detect whether a file resides in Recently Deleted, but we cannot find a reliable and officially supported method. Recently Deleted files appear under .Trash, but using the path alone is not a reliable method. We have tried the following APIs without success: [NSURL getResourceValue:forKey:NSURLIsHiddenKey error:] [NSURL checkResourceIsReachableAndReturnError:] [NSFileManager fileExistsAtPath:] [NSFileManager isReadableFileAtPath:] [NSFileManager getRelationship:ofDirectory:NSTrashDirectory inDomain:NSUserDomainMask toItemAtURL:error:] We could not obtain the Recently Deleted folder URL using standard APIs. [NSFileManager URLsForDirectory:NSTrashDirectory inDomains:NSUserDomainMask] [NSFileManager URLForDirectory:NSTrashDirectory inDomain:NSUserDomainMask appropriateForURL:url create:error:] Could you advise a safe and supported way to detect Recently Deleted files properly by the app?

Family Controls extensions stuck in "Submitted"
Hi, I’m requesting the Family Controls distribution capability for my app and its extensions. The main app bundle ID was approved within 1 day. However, I later realized the associated extensions (Shield Configuration, Device Activity Monitor, Device Activity Report) also require separate approval. I submitted those extension requests 4 days ago, and they are still in "Submitted" with no updates. This is currently blocking me from proceeding with TestFlight/App Store submission, since the extensions require the approved capability. Is this delay expected for extension bundle IDs? Thanks for your help.

SwiftData Models and SortDesc. Only Work in One Swift File
Hey everyone, I found a possible SwiftData Release-only issue with nested sort descriptors on an optional relationship. In a minimal repro, sorting a @Query by a nested optional relationship key path like: SortDescriptor(\InvestigationPhotoAsset.imageAnalysis?.overallAestheticsScore, order: .reverse) works in Debug, but crashes at runtime in Release. The surprising part is that the crash depends on file layout: if the active SwiftData models and the sort logic are kept in the same Swift file, the app works if the same models are split into separate files, the Release build crashes, 'Debug' will also work The repro was reduced to just two SwiftData models: InvestigationPhotoAsset InvestigationImageAnalysis So this looks less like an app-modeling issue and more like a SwiftData/compiler/codegen issue related to nested sort metadata in optimized builds. Explicit dynamic loading of a framework in macOS - recommended approach?
I am working on a cross-platform application where, on Android and Windows, I explicitly load dynamic libraries at runtime (e.g., LoadLibrary/GetProcAddress on Windows and equivalent mechanisms on Android). This allows me to control when and how modules are loaded, and to transfer execution flow from the main executable into the dynamically loaded library. I want to follow a similar approach on macOS (and also iOS) and explicitly load a framework (instead of relying on implicit linking via import). From my exploration so far, I have come across the following options: Using Bundle (NSBundle) - Load framework using: let bundle = Bundle(path: path) try bundle?.load() Access functionality via NSPrincipalClass and @objc methods (class-based entry) Using dlopen + dlsym Load the framework binary and resolve symbols: let handle = dlopen(path, RTLD_NOW) let sym = dlsym(handle, "EntryPoint") Expose Swift functions using @_cdecl Using a hybrid approach (Bundle + dlsym) - Use Bundle for loading and dlsym for symbol access From what I understand: Bundle works well for class-based/plugin-style designs using the Objective-C runtime while dlopen/dlsym works at the symbol level and is closer to what I am doing on other platforms However, my requirement is specifically: Explicit runtime loading (not compile-time linking) Ability to transfer execution flow from the main executable into the dynamically loaded framework **What is the recommended approach on macOS for this kind of explicit dynamic loading, or is implicit loading the way to go? Also, would it differ for interactive and non-interactive apps? ** In what scenarios would Apple recommend using Bundle instead of dlopen? Is there any other methods best for this explicit loading of frameworks on Apple?

How to sign a DEXT
Kevin's Guide to DEXT Signing The question of "How do I sign a DEXT" comes up a lot, so this post is my attempt to describe both what the issues are and the best current solutions are. So... The Problems: When DEXTs were originally introduced, the recommended development signing process required disabling SIP and local signing. There is a newer, much simpler process that's built on Xcode's integrated code-signing support; however, that newer process has not yet been integrated into the documentation library. In addition, while the older flow still works, many of the details it describes are no longer correct due to changes to Xcode and the developer portal. DriverKit's use of individually customized entitlements is different than the other entitlements on our platform, and Xcode's support for it is somewhat incomplete and buggy. The situation has improved considerably over time, particularly from Xcode 15 and Xcode 16, but there are still issues that are not fully resolved. To address #1, we introduced "development" entitlement variants of all DriverKit entitlements. These entitlement variants are ONLY available in development-signed builds, but they're available on all paid developer accounts without any special approval. They also allow a DEXT to match against any hardware, greatly simplifying working with development or prototype hardware which may not match the configuration of a final product. Unfortunately, this also means that DEXT developers will always have at least two entitlement variants (the public development variant and the "private" approved entitlement), which is what then causes the problem I mentioned in #2. The Automatic Solution: If you're using Xcode 16 or above, then Xcode's Automatic code sign support will work all DEXT Families, with the exception of distribution signing the PCI and USB Families. For completeness, here is how that Automatic flow should work: Change the code signing configuration to "Automatic". Add the capability using Xcode. (USB & PCI) Edit your Entitlement.plist to include the correct "Development Only" configuration: USB Development Only Configuration: <key>com.apple.developer.driverkit.transport.usb</key> <array> <dict> <key>idVendor</key> <string>*</string> </dict> </array> PCI Development Only Configuration: <key>com.apple.developer.driverkit.transport.pci</key> <array> <dict> <key>IOPCIPrimaryMatch</key> <string>0xFFFFFFFF&amp;0x00000000</string> </dict> </array> If you've been approved for one of these entitlements, the one oddity you'll see is that adding your approved capability will add both the approved AND the development variant, while deleting either will delete both. This is a visual side effect of #2 above; however, aside from the exception described below, it can be ignored. Similarly, you can sign distribution builds by creating a build archive and then exporting the build using the standard Xcode flow. Debugging Automatic Code-signing In a new project, the flow I describe above should just work; however, if you're converting an existing project, you may get code signing errors, generally complaining about how the provisioning profile configuration doesn't match. In most cases, this happens because Xcode is choosing to reuse a previously downloaded profile with an older configuration instead of generating a new configuration which would then include the configuration changes you made. Currently, you can find these profile files in: ~/Library/Developer/Xcode/UserData/Provisioning Profiles ...which can make it easier to find and delete the specific profile (if you choose). However, one recommendation I'd have here is to not treat the contents of that folder as "precious" or special. What automatic code signing actually does is generate provisioning profiles "on demand", so if you delete an automatic profile... Xcode will just generate it again at the next build. Manually generating profiles is more cumbersome, but the solution there is to preserve them as a separate resource, probably as part of your project data, NOT to just "lose" them in the folder here. If they get deleted from Xcode's store, then you can just copy them back in from your own store (or using Xcode, which can manually download profiles as well). The advantage of this approach is that when profiles "pile up" over time (which they tend to do), you can just delete[1] all of them then let Xcode regenerate the ones you're actually trying to investigate. In terms of looking at their contents, TN3125: Inside Code Signing: Provisioning Profiles has the details of how to see exactly what's there. Content Filter Permission Prompt Not Appearing in TestFlight
I added a Content Filter to my app, and when running it in Xcode (Debug/Release), I get the expected permission prompt: "Would like to filter network content (Allow / Don't Allow)". However, when I install the app via TestFlight, this prompt doesn’t appear at all, and the feature doesn’t work. Is there a special configuration required for TestFlight? Has anyone encountered this issue before? Thanks!

.contactAccessPicker shows blank sheet on iOS 26.1
I’m running into an issue using .contactAccessPicker on a device running iOS 26.1 - a blank sheet appears instead of the expected Contact Access Picker. It works on: Simulator (iOS 26.0) Device + Simulator (iOS 18.6) The issue appears specific to real devices on iOS 26.0+. Xcode 26.3 Claude Agent — 401 Invalid Bearer Token on Intel Mac (FB22141224)
I've been investigating a persistent 401 Invalid Bearer Token error with Claude Agent in Xcode 26.3 on an Intel Core i9 Mac and wanted to share my findings here in case others are affected. ENVIRONMENT Hardware: Intel Core i9 (x86_64) Xcode: 26.3 (17C529) macOS: 26.3 (25D125) THE ISSUE Claude Agent fails with "Failed to authenticate. API Error: 401 - Invalid bearer token" on every prompt, despite the account showing as Signed In under Settings → Intelligence. The error persists after signing out and back in, and the token is confirmed valid and unexpired in Keychain. WHAT WORKS Claude Code in Terminal works perfectly on the same machine with the same credentials The basic Claude Sonnet 4.5 coding assistant in Xcode works fine Only Claude Agent is affected ROOT CAUSE HYPOTHESIS Xcode appears to be installing an ARM64 Claude binary on Intel Macs silently, with no warning or fallback. This binary likely fails to execute on x86_64 hardware and that failure is being misreported upstream as a 401 authentication error — which is why the error has nothing to do with the actual credentials. APPLE'S RESPONSE Feedback report FB22141224 was closed as 'Works as currently designed' with the explanation that Claude Agent requires the Neural Engine found on Apple Silicon. However, Claude Agent calls Anthropic's remote API over the network and performs no on-device AI processing — the Neural Engine is not involved. The fact that Claude Code works fine on this same Intel Mac with the same credentials demonstrates this clearly. WORKAROUND Using an Anthropic API key instead of OAuth resolves the issue but requires additional paid billing outside of an existing Claude.ai subscription. Has anyone else experienced this on either Intel or Apple Silicon? I'd be particularly interested to hear if Apple Silicon users are also affected, as the Developer Forums suggest this may not be limited to Intel Macs (thread/816369). Any input from Apple DTS engineers would be greatly appreciated.
