Apple's new Age Ratings: do I have to submit a new binary?
I have 2 apps. I do not want to update the binaries as we are doing overhauling in the meantime. I actually attended to these issues a couple of months back when I received the first notification and thought everything was ok until we received the final reminder email hours ago. I have two apps: app_1: the age rating was auto computed in August 2025 with no missing fields and the new age rating is in line with our expectations, so I just left it as it is app_2: the age rating had some missing answers, and I was unable to input anything so I created a new release and then updated the age ratings. the app is now in "pending submission" stage but the age ratings have been updated. I did not submit the release for review. !!! in both cases, the updated age ratings are updated & LIVE for both our apps and can be seen in our appstore listings !!! but I still get the final reminder email anyway. Q1) should I do anything? Q2) anyone else in the same boat (not keen to submit a new binary for review)? We really are in the middle of some changes and can't submit a new build now Q3) what happens after 31 Jan 2026? Can we still submit a new release with the latest age rating questions? Or totally can't update anymore?

Xcode Cloud won't load from Xcode or App Store Connect
I am setting up a new app and am having problems with Xcode Cloud. From Xcode if I click on the "Cloud" button under the Report Navigator I get a spinner for a long time then get the message "Could not load Xcode Cloud data". I also visited the "Xcode Cloud" tab under my app in App Store Connect and I get a spinner and nothing loads. This is a recent account and I'm setting up Xcode Cloud for the first time. Below is what I've tried and I'm out of ideas on how to get this working. In Xcode, I signed out and back in as the Account Holder Closed Xcode and reopened This occurred yesterday and today and have not seen a problem under the Apple System Status page On the latest Xcode 16.2 Checked the Signing & Capabilities tab in Xcode and my team a bundle Id is correct and it's happy with signing. At this time on my machine I am using the distribution profile.

Apple Developer Enrollment Stuck — Paid Twice, Still Pending
Hello, I am writing this post because the Apple Developer Program enrollment process is clearly malfunctioning, and I have reached a point where this situation is unacceptable. First payment I initially purchased the Apple Developer Program on December 3rd, 2025 at 16:03 (Turkey time). The payment was fully completed, confirmed by my bank, and I received the official Apple Store receipt. • Order ID: W1557478965 • Amount: 1029 TRY • Status: Completed / Posted Despite this, my account continued to show: • “Purchase your membership” • Enrollment status: Pending • No access to App Store Connect After several days with no response from Apple Support and no activation, I assumed something had gone wrong on Apple’s side. Second payment Because I was completely blocked and received no reply from support or the forums, I made a second payment to rule out any payment failure. • Order ID: W1694587309 • Amount: 1029 TRY • Status: Completed / Posted Current situation At this point: • Two separate payments • Two unique Apple Store order IDs • Zero activation • Zero response from Apple Support • Enrollment still Pending • App Store Connect still inaccessible Support case details: • Apple Support Case ID: 102769533427 • Multiple follow-ups sent • No reply • No action taken This is no longer a delay — this is a system-level failure. I have paid twice for a single Developer Program membership and received nothing in return: no activation, no explanation, and no support. I am formally requesting manual intervention by Apple staff to: 1. Immediately activate my Apple Developer Program membership 2. Investigate and resolve the duplicate payment (refund or clarification) 3. Explain why a paid enrollment can remain blocked with no support response If this forum is monitored by Apple employees, this issue requires urgent escalation. This situation should not happen in a paid developer program. Thank you.

@state update not reflecting on UI.
I’m facing an issue in our native iOS app that occurs specifically on iOS 26.1 (not observed on any lower versions). When I update a @State field value, the UI does not reflect the change as expected. The @State variable updates internally, but the view does not re-render. This behaviour started after upgrading to iOS 26.1. Works fine on iOS 26.0 and earlier versions. Has anyone else encountered this issue or found a workaround? Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Behavior of BGContinuedProcessingTask on Failure
Hi there, First thanks for all the work on BGContinuedProcessingTask! It looks really promising. I have a question / issue around the behavior when a BGContinuedProcessingTask expires. Here is my setup. I have an app who's responsible for uploading large files in the field (AKA wifi is not expected) For a given file, it can likely fail due to network conditions I'm using Multipart upload though so I can retry a file to pick up where it left off. I use one taskIdentifier per file, and when the file fails, I can retry the task and have it continue where it left off (I am reusing the taskIdentifier here for retries, let me know if I shouldn't be doing that) Here is the behavior I am seeing I start an upload, it seems to be uploading normally I turn on airplane mode to simulate expiration of the task the task fails as expected after ~30 seconds, and I see the failure in my home screen. I have callbacks in the task to put my app in the proper state on expiration / failure I turn back on airplane mode and I retry the task, the way I do this is I do NOT re-register, I simply re-submit the task with the same TaskIdentifier. What I would have expected is that the failure task is REPLACED with the new task and new progress. Instead what I see is TWO ContinuedBackgroundProcessingTasks, one in the failure state and one in progress. My question is How can I make retries reuse the same task notification item? OR if that's not possible, how do I programmatically clear the task failure? I've tried cancelTask but that doesn't seem to clear it.

Binary executable requires Accessibility Permissions in Tahoe
I have a binary executable which needs to be given Accessibility Permissions so it can inject keypresses and mouse moves. This was always possible up to macOS 15 - when the first keypress arrived the Accessibility Permissions window would open and allow me to add the executable. However this no longer works in macOS 26: the window still opens, I navigate to the executable file and select it but it doesn't appear in the list. No error message appears. I'm guessing that this may be due to some tightening of security in Tahoe but I need to figure out what to change with my executable to allow it to work.

App store error: "This build is using a beta version of Xcode and can’t be submitted."
Strangely today, I suddenly found I was unable to submit a new build of my iOS app to the app store. It builds perfectly well in Xcode Cloud, launches from TestFlight without issue, but when attempting to submit the app for App Review, I get this error: "This build is using a beta version of Xcode and can’t be submitted." Of course, the version of Xcode I'm using is not Beta - and I tried this on both public releases of Xcode 16.1 and Xcode 16.2. Has anyone else seen this, and if so, did you figure out a workaround?

Crash (KERN_INVALID_ADDRESS) on IOS 26.2 GM when calling isEligibleForAgeFeatures
We recently released an update to our app to prepare for TX SB2420. Almost immediately on release, we started getting crash reports of crashes when calling isEligibleForAgeFeatures. Crashed: com.apple.root.user-initiated-qos.cooperative EXC_BAD_ACCESS KERN_INVALID_ADDRESS 0x0000000000000004 Is it possible that these are beta users that have IOS 26.2 RC or is there a bug in the release version of IOS 26.2? Note: The crash reports are coming from Crashlytics so we are not getting OS build identifiers other than version "26.2"

You do not have required contracts to perform an operation.
Hi, I need help with the error: “You do not have required contracts to perform an operation.” (ID: cc897baf-6551-474b-bbef-3dd5bdf89931) When I try to distribute an archived build from Xcode, App Store Connect shows a banner asking to review a new agreement. But when I click it, I’m redirected to Agreements, Tax and Banking, and there is no agreement to accept — the page is empty. I checked with the team, and none of us can see the agreement. Is it possible that the required agreement is available only to the Account Holder and not visible to Admin or Developer roles? Could you please clarify what exactly this error means and how we can locate the missing agreement? Thanks.

Are read-only filesystems currently supported by FSKit?
I'm writing a read-only filesystem extension. I see that the documentation for loadResource(resource:options:replyHandler:) claims that the --rdonly option is supported, which suggests that this should be possible. However, I have never seen this option provided to my filesystem extension, even if I return usableButLimited as a probe result (where it doesn't mount at all - FB19241327) or pass the -r or -o rdonly options to the mount(8) command. Instead I see those options on the volume's activate call. But other than saving that "readonly" state (which, in my case, is always the case) and then throwing on all write-related calls I'm not sure how to actually mark the filesystem as "read-only." Without such an indicator, the user is still offered the option to do things like trash items in Finder (although of course those operations do not succeed since I throw an EROFS error in the relevant calls). It also seems like the FSKit extensions that come with the system handle read-only strangely as well. For example, for a FAT32 filesystem, if I mount it like mount -r -F -t msdos /dev/disk15s1 /tmp/mnt Then it acts... weirdly. For example, Finder doesn't know that the volume is read-only, and lets me do some operations like making new folders, although they never actually get written to disk. Writing may or may not lead to errors and/or the change just disappearing immediately (or later), which is pretty much what I'm seeing in my own filesystem extension. If I remove the -F option (thus using the kernel extension version of msdos), this doesn't happen. Are read-only filesystems currently supported by FSKit? The fact that extensions like Apple's own msdos also seem to act weirdly makes me think this is just a current FSKit limitation, although maybe I'm missing something. It's not necessarily a hard blocker given that I can prevent writes from happening in my FSKit module code (or, in my case, just not implement such features at all), but it does make for a strange experience. (I reported this as FB21068845, although I'm mostly asking here because I'm not 100% sure this is not just me missing something.)

Clarification requested on Secure Enclave key usage across apps with shared keychain access group
During internal testing, we observed the following behavior and would appreciate clarification on whether it is expected and supported in production environments. When generating an elliptic-curve cryptographic key pair using "kSecAttrTokenIDSecureEnclave", and explicitly specifying a "kSecAttrAccessGroup", we found that cryptographic operations (specifically encryption and decryption) could be successfully performed using this key pair from two distinct applications. Both applications had the Keychain Sharing capability enabled and were signed with the same provisioning profile identity. Given the documented security properties of Secure Enclave, backed keys, namely that private key material is protected by hardware and access is strictly constrained by design, we would like to confirm whether the ability for multiple applications (sharing the same keychain access group and signing identity) to perform cryptographic operations with the same Secure Enclave–backed key is expected behavior on iOS. Specifically, we are seeking confirmation on: Whether this behavior is intentional and supported in production. Whether the Secure Enclave enforces access control primarily at the application-identifier (App ID) level rather than the individual app bundle level in this scenario. Whether there are any documented limitations or guarantees regarding cross-application usage of Secure Enclave keys when keychain sharing is configured. Any guidance or references to official documentation clarifying this behavior would be greatly appreciated.

Enhanced Security Capability < iOS 26
Hi, After enabling the new Enhanced Security capability in Xcode 26, I’m seeing install failures on devices running < iOS 26. Deployment target: iOS 15.0 Capability: Enhanced Security (added via Signing & Capabilities tab) Building to iOS 18 device error - Unable to Install ...Please ensure sure that your app is signed by a valid provisioning profile. It works fine on iOS 26 devices. I’d like to confirm Apple’s intent here: Is this capability formally supported only on iOS 26 and later, and therefore incompatible with earlier OS versions? Or should older systems ignore the entitlement, meaning this behavior might be a bug?

Need Inputs on Which Extension to Use
Hi all, I have a working macOS (Intel) system extension app that currently uses only a Content Filter (NEFilterDataProvider). I need to capture/log HTTP and HTTPS traffic in plain text, and I understand NETransparentProxyProvider is the right extension type for that. For HTTPS I will need TLS inspection / a MITM proxy — I’m new to that and unsure how complex it will be. For DNS data (in plain text), can I use the same extension, or do I need a separate extension type such as NEPacketTunnelProvider, NEFilterPacketProvider, or NEDNSProxyProvider? Current architecture: Two Xcode targets: MainApp and a SystemExtension target. The SystemExtension target contains multiple network extension types. MainApp ↔ SystemExtension communicate via a bidirectional NSXPC connection. I can already enable two extensions (Content Filter and TransparentProxy). With the NETransparentProxy, I still need to implement HTTPS capture. Questions I’d appreciate help with: Can NETransparentProxy capture the DNS fields I need (dns_hostname, dns_query_type, dns_response_code, dns_answer_number, etc.), or do I need an additional extension type to capture DNS in plain text? If a separate extension is required, is it possible or problematic to include that extension type (Packet Tunnel / DNS Proxy / etc.) in the same SystemExtension Xcode target as the TransparentProxy? Any recommended resources or guidance on TLS inspection / MITM proxy setup for capturing HTTPS logs? There are multiple DNS transport types — am I correct that capturing DNS over UDP (port 53) is not necessarily sufficient? Which DNS types should I plan to handle? I’ve read that TransparentProxy and other extension types (e.g., Packet Tunnel) cannot coexist in the same Xcode target. Is that true? Best approach for delivering logs from multiple extensions to the main app (is it feasible)? Or what’s the best way to capture logs so an external/independent process (or C/C++ daemon) can consume them? Required data to capture (not limited to): All HTTP/HTTPS (request, body, URL, response, etc.) DNS fields: dns_hostname, dns_query_type, dns_response_code, dns_answer_number, and other DNS data — all in plain text. I’ve read various resources but remain unclear which extension(s) to use and whether multiple extension types can be combined in one Xcode target. Please ask if you need more details. Thank you.

Advanced App Clip Experience Stuck in 'Received' Status in App Store Connect
Hello, We are reporting an issue with an Advanced App Clip Experience that we created in App Store Connect. Issue: The Advanced App Clip Experience, created on Wednesday, December 10th, has remained in the 'Received' status since its submission, and we have not seen any progress or change in its review status. Context: After conducting extensive research through the Apple Developer Forums, we have observed that numerous developers have reported similar problems with Advanced App Clip Experiences getting stuck indefinitely in the 'Received' status. In several of these discussions, the recommended course of action for persistent delays or lack of status updates is to open a report via Feedback Assistant. FYI, our feedback assistant number is FB21344257 We kindly request your assistance in investigating this matter and helping us move forward with our Advanced App Clip Experience. Thank you for your time and support. Best regards,

BGTaskScheduler Terminated due to memory issue
Hello everybody! I'm currently working on a Bluetooth Low Energy Sync that is using BGTaskScheduler & successfully running periodically in the Background on iOS 26. I did watch this years WWDC Session 227 (Finish tasks in the background) & follow the recommendations as suggested. Currently, the App is only using 37 Mb (iPhone 12 mini) & no Location or other services are running in Background. However, when opening Safari & scrolling through some webpages, the App is killed because of "Terminated due to memory issue". I profiled the App & followed advice when it comes to reducing the memory footprint of the App. Are there any additional steps I can take to prevent the App being killed? Are there any recommendations for periodically scheduled Tasks when it comes to the Interval? Do more frequent Tasks (30min compared to one or two hours) have any impact? I tried many different schedules but none seem to make a difference. From my observation, the App is first suspended & eventually killed because of the Memory Pressure. Any hints, suggestions or recommendations are highly appreciated! Thanks a lot for the support!

DeclaredAgeRange framework new cases and properties cause runtime crash with missing symbol
I'm making a wrapper library to abstract away some of the 'missing platform support' of DeclaredAgeRange until hopefully it expands to additional platforms. When I'm trying to fully enumerate all of the cases of AgeRangeDeclaration, which they all state available starting 26.0 (mysteriously added in Xcode 26.2 beta), the app crashes due to a missing symbol at launch time. This happens both for Xcode 26.1, 26.2 beta 2, and matching Xcode Cloud builds. So I've isolated it beyond "doesn't work on my machine". I just made a handful of crashes and attached a sysdiagnose to a fresh feedback. FB21121092 - DeclaredAgeRange: Eligibility property and new declaration cases unavailable on iOS 26.1 device contradicting documentation - causes runtime symbol not found crash If anyone is curious what these crashes look like I've attached the DiagnosticPayload.jsonRepresentation() generated from one of my favorite frameworks, MetricKit. Very clearly articulated in the diagnostic metadata you can see the symbol not found. "diagnosticMetaData" : { "platformArchitecture" : "arm64e", "terminationReason" : "Symbol not found: _$s16DeclaredAgeRange0bC7ServiceV0bC11DeclarationO14paymentCheckedyA2EmFWC\nReferenced from: <1894EDCB-3263-3604-8938-97D465FF3720> \/Volumes\/VOLUME\/*\/PerformanceOrganizer.app\/PerformanceOrganizer\nExpected in: <B8FD2C23-0CC9-3D94-902D-875900307A7A> \/System\/Library\/Frameworks\/DeclaredAgeRange.framework\/DeclaredAgeRange", "exceptionType" : 10, "appBuildVersion" : "745", "isTestFlightApp" : true, "osVersion" : "iPhone OS 26.1 (23B85)", "bundleIdentifier" : "dev.twincitiesapp.performanceorganizer", "deviceType" : "iPhone18,1", "exceptionCode" : 0, "signal" : 6, "regionFormat" : "US", "appVersion" : "2.0.0", "pid" : 22987, "lowPowerModeEnabled" : false } DiagnosticPayload.json This is the offending code in a type I control and make available on other platforms but leave unused. extension AgeRangeDeclaration { // A factory or initializer that takes the AgeRangeService.AgeRangeDeclaration and maps to the common AgeRangeDeclaration type public init?(platform value: AgeRangeService.AgeRangeDeclaration?) { guard let value else { return nil } switch value { // Xcode 26.1 visible cases case .selfDeclared: self = .selfDeclared case .guardianDeclared: self = .guardianDeclared // Xcode 26.2 visible cases // This is the first culprit, all of the following symbols would crash, this is just the first case .checkedByOtherMethod: self = .checkedByOtherMethod case .guardianCheckedByOtherMethod: self = .guardianCheckedByOtherMethod case .governmentIDChecked: self = .governmentIDChecked case .guardianGovernmentIDChecked: self = .guardianGovernmentIDChecked case .paymentChecked: self = .paymentChecked case .guardianPaymentChecked: self = .guardianPaymentChecked @unknown default: // Apple added new cases in Xcode 26.2 betas that were available in iOS 26.0, // so it is probable that this could happen again. If it does, assert to let developers // bring it to my attention. assertionFailure("Invalid or out of date knowledge of age range declaration \(value)") self = .unknown } } } For what it is worth, the same is also true for isEligibleForAgeFeatures which I suspect was also added to Xcode 26.2 somehow but not made available to real devices running [26.0 - 26.2). As a side note, thank you for this property, it will let me check what states I need to perform extra checks for in a clean way, I just will need it to now not crash my app on 26.0 and 26.1 runtime devices. :) Edit: DTS did confirm on a comment I had in another thread that this is a bug. Now just to wait for an Xcode beta update. https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/807906?answerId=867205022#867205022 In any case, this is a great example of how MetricKit totally rocks capturing things other off the shelf crash tools might not have a chance to get. I did have to roll back my TestFlight to an earlier build, but MetricKit was there to send me the previous crashes as soon as the app could launch. Thanks MetricKit team!
