Enrolled in Small Business Program - Still takes ~30% cut.
As the title says, I am enrolled in the small business program but Apple still takes about 30% of my sales. Most of my sales are from Swedish customers, not sure if this matters. For instance I have an app with sales of: $109 After apples cut I am left with: $74 74/109 = 0.68. Why is this? I have non consumable IAP in my app.

iOS 26 didRegisterForRemoteNotificationsWithDeviceToken is not being called
We have an app in Swift that uses push notifications. It has a deployment target of iOS 15.0 I originally audited our app for iOS 26 by building it with Xcode 26 beta 3. At that point, all was well. Our implementation of application:didRegisterForRemoteNotificationsWithDeviceToken was called. But when rebuilding the app with beta 4, 5 and now 6, that function is no longer being called. I created a simple test case by creating a default iOS app project, then performing these additional steps: Set bundle ID to our app's ID Add the Push Notifications capability Add in application:didRegisterForRemoteNotificationsWithDeviceToken: with a print("HERE") just to set a breakpoint. Added the following code inside application:didFinishLaunchingWithOptions: along with setting a breakpoint on the registerForRemoteNotifications line: UNUserNotificationCenter.current().requestAuthorization(options: [.badge, .alert, .sound]) { granted, _ in DispatchQueue.main.async { UIApplication.shared.registerForRemoteNotifications() } } Building and running with Xcode 26 beta 6 (17A5305f) generates these two different outcomes based upon the OS running in the Simulator: iPhone 16 Pro simulator running iOS 18.4 - both breakpoints are reached iPhone 16 Pro simulator running iOS 26 - only the breakpoint on UIApplication.shared.registerForRemoteNotifications is reached. Assuming this is a bug in iOS 26. Or, is there something additional we now need to do to get push notifications working?

BGContinuedProcessingTask expiring unpredictably
I've adopted the new BGContinuedProcessingTask in iOS 26, and it has mostly been working well in internal testing. However, in production I'm getting reports of the tasks failing when the app is put into the background. A bit of info on what I'm doing: I need to download a large amount of data (around 250 files) and process these files as they come down. The size of the files can vary: for some tasks each file might be around 10MB. For other tasks, the files might be 40MB. The processing is relatively lightweight, but the volume of data means the task can potentially take over an hour on slower internet connections (up to 10GB of data). I set the totalUnitCount based on the number of files to be downloaded, and I increment completedUnitCount each time a file is completed. After some experimentation, I've found that smaller tasks (e.g. 3GB, 10MB per file) seem to be okay, but larger tasks (e.g. 10GB, 40MB per file) seem to fail, usually just a few seconds after the task is backgrounded (and without even opening any other apps). I think I've even observed a case where the task expired while the app was foregrounded! I'm trying to understand what the rules are with BGContinuedProcessingTask and I can see at least four possibilities that might be relevant: Is it necessary to provide progress updates at some minimum rate? For my larger tasks, where each file is ~40MB, there might be 20 or 30 seconds between progress updates. Does this make it more likely that the task will be expired? For larger tasks, the total time to complete can be 60–90 mins on slower internet connections. Is there some maximum amount of time the task can run for? Does the system attempt some kind of estimate of the overall time to complete and expire the task on that basis? The processing on each file is relatively lightweight, so most of the time the async stream is awaiting the next file to come down. Does the OS monitor the intensity of workload and suspend the task if it appears to be idle? I've noticed that the task UI sometimes displays a message, something along the lines of "Do you want to continue this task?" with a "Continue" and "Stop" option. What happens if the user simply ignores or doesn't see this message? Even if I tap "Continue" the task still seems to fail sometimes. I've read the docs and watched the WWDC video, but there's not a whole lot of information on the specific issues I mention above. It would be great to get some clarity on this, and I'd also appreciate any advice on alternative ways I could approach my specific use case.

Request to restore full ICC profile support (LUT-based display profiles) in macOS ColorSync
Dear Apple Color Management Team, I’m a professional visual creator working on color-critical photo and graphic projects using macOS (currently 26.1 Tahoe). In recent macOS releases, LUT-based ICC display profiles (such as XYZ LUT + Matrix types generated by DisplayCAL or professional spectrophotometers) can no longer be installed or activated via ColorSync. This limitation significantly affects professional workflows in photography, graphic design, prepress, and video color grading — fields that rely on precise display profiling. The current workaround (converting LUT profiles to simple shaper/matrix ICC v2) results in less accurate tone response and color reproduction, particularly in the dark range and wide-gamut displays. I kindly request Apple to restore or re-enable the ability to install and use ICC v2/v4 LUT-based display profiles under ColorSync, as was possible on macOS Monterey and Ventura. This would allow professionals to continue using trusted calibration tools such as DisplayCAL, X-Rite i1Profiler, and Calibrite Profiler to achieve accurate color management. macOS is widely used in professional creative industries, and restoring this feature would be a huge help for countless photographers, designers, and colorists. Thank you for your attention and commitment to professional users. Best regards, Richárd Deutsch Professional Photographer https://riccio.hu/ MacBook Pro (M4 Pro, macOS 26.1)

Xcode 26.0 Share Extension crashes with NSInternalInconsistencyException on iOS 26.0
Issue : When creating a new project in Xcode 26.0 and adding a Share Extension target without modifying any code, the app crashes upon displaying the extension screen with the following error: *** Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInternalInconsistencyException', reason: 'The layout constraints still need update after sending -updateConstraints to <_UINavigationBarTitleControl: 0x105b9cc00; frame = (0 0; 0 0); layer = <CALayer: 0x10b834270>>. _UINavigationBarTitleControl or one of its superclasses may have overridden -updateConstraints without calling super. Or, something may have dirtied layout constraints in the middle of updating them. Both are programming errors.' Environment : Xcode 26.0 iOS 26.0 (physical device) Note: This issue does not occur when running on iOS 18.3.1 (physical device). Temporary Workaround : Adding the following implementation to the isContentValid method prevents the exception from occurring: Objective-C- (BOOL)isContentValid { // Do validation of contentText and/or NSExtensionContext attachments here if (@available(iOS 26, *)) { self.navigationController.navigationBarHidden = YES; } return YES; } Questions : Is there any alternative way to avoid this exception? Since this crash occurs with the default implementation generated by Xcode, is there any plan to fix it in future updates?

Check whether app is built in debug or release mode
Currently, if as a library author you are shipping dependencies as code, you can use the #if DEBUG preprocessor check to execute logic based on whether app is being built for Debug or Release. My concern is more about the approach that should be taken when distributing frameworks/xcframeworks. One approach I am thinking of using is checking the presence of {CFBundleName}.debug.dylib in the main bundle. Is this approach reliable? Do you suggest any other approach?

Internal error, NEHotspotConfigurationErrorDomain
Hello eveybody,Currently I'm working on an app which connects to a device. During testing I encounter an internal error of NEHotspotConfigurationErrorDomain. See the log snippet:Domain=NEHotspotConfigurationErrorDomain Code=8 "internal error." UserInfo={NSLocalizedDescription=internal error.}This error appears randomly. In one day I encountered it three times. The only solution I can think of is catching this error somehow and then telling the user to restart the device. After this error appears, the wifi functionality of iOS in all third party apps seems to be broken. Only restarting helps as far as I know. Also there seems to be nothing we as app developers can do about it. Therefor I wonder if there is some way to prevent this error somehow? The only solution I can think of is catching this error somehow and then telling the user to restart the device. Also since there is not much information about this error on the web, it would be really nice if someone can clarify whats going on with this error.Regards.

I’m having an issue where Product.products(for:) returns an empty array in sandbox testing, even though my subscriptions appear fully configured in App Store Connect. Are there any hidden metadata requirements beyond what shows in App Store Connect? Has anyone experienced this where subscriptions simply never propagate to sandbox? Any help appreciated. Already submitted a support case to Apple but looking for community insights.

App Crash in GameController when accessing GCKeyboard.coalesced on iPad
We are developing a hybrid iOS app where Angular content is rendered inside a WKWebView, hosted by a native Swift application. We use the GameController framework to detect whether an external Bluetooth keyboard is connected to an iPad. The following code is executed when the app enters the foreground and also when requested by the web layer: func keyboardStatusHandler(){ let isKeyboardConnected = GCKeyboard.coalesced != nil if(!isKeyboardConnected){ //sent status to Angular } else { //sent status to Angular } } Crash details We are seeing intermittent crashes on iPad with the following stack trace: Crashed: GCDeviceSession.HID 0 libobjc.A.dylib 0x7db8 objc_retain_x8 + 16 1 libsystem_blocks.dylib 0xfb8 void HelperBase<ExtendedInline>::copyCapture<(HelperBase<ExtendedInline>::BlockCaptureKind)3>(unsigned int) + 48 2 libsystem_blocks.dylib 0xbc4 HelperBase<GenericInline>::copyBlock(Block_layout*, Block_layout*) + 108 3 libsystem_blocks.dylib 0xc94 _call_copy_helpers_excp + 60 4 libsystem_blocks.dylib 0xef8 _Block_copy + 412 5 libdispatch.dylib 0x1a70 _dispatch_Block_copy + 32 6 libdispatch.dylib 0x792c dispatch_async + 56 7 libdispatch.dylib 0x792c dispatch_channel_async + 56 8 GameController 0xea6dc -[GCKeyboardInput _handleKeyboardEvent:] + 324 9 GameController 0x22508 __53-[_GCKeyboardEventHIDAdapter initWithSource:service:]_block_invoke + 376 10 GameController 0x11d30 -[_GCHIDEventSubject publishHIDEvent:] + 268 11 GameController 0xb79cc __40-[_GCHIDEventUIKitClient initWithQueue:]_block_invoke_3 + 44 12 libdispatch.dylib 0x1b584 _dispatch_client_callout + 16 13 libdispatch.dylib 0x12088 _dispatch_async_and_wait_invoke_and_complete_recurse + 272 14 libdispatch.dylib 0x8448 _dispatch_async_and_wait_f + 108 15 GameController 0xb7984 __40-[_GCHIDEventUIKitClient initWithQueue:]_block_invoke_2 + 132 16 GameController 0xb746c __48-[__GCHIDEventUIKitClient _initWithApplication:]_block_invoke + 256 17 UIKitCore 0x11fd394 __61-[UIEventFetcher _setHIDGameControllerEventObserver:onQueue:]_block_invoke_3 + 40 18 libdispatch.dylib 0x1aac _dispatch_call_block_and_release + 32 19 libdispatch.dylib 0x1b584 _dispatch_client_callout + 16 20 libdispatch.dylib 0xa2d0 _dispatch_lane_serial_drain + 740 21 libdispatch.dylib 0xadac _dispatch_lane_invoke + 388 22 libdispatch.dylib 0x151dc _dispatch_root_queue_drain_deferred_wlh + 292 23 libdispatch.dylib 0x14a60 _dispatch_workloop_worker_thread + 540 24 libsystem_pthread.dylib 0xa0c _pthread_wqthread + 292 25 libsystem_pthread.dylib 0xaac start_wqthread + 8 Observed scenarios Crash occurs when the app transitions from background to foreground Crash also occurs when the Angular layer requests keyboard status, triggering the same code path Questions Has anyone encountered crashes related to GCKeyboard.coalesced or GCKeyboardInput like this? Are there known issues with the GameController framework when querying keyboard state during app lifecycle transitions? Is there a recommended or safer way to detect external keyboard connection status on iPad (especially when using WKWebView)? Any insights, known platform issues, or suggested workarounds would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

QuickLook Thumbnailing returns stale macOS 26 folder icon
On macOS 26, I've run into a situation when a user “customizes” a folder icon with Finder by assigning/changing an SF Symbol or an emoji, QLThumbnailGenerator keeps returning the stale initially retrieved folder icon (no matter whether it had been customized or not) until my app quits. After the app is re-launched, the icon is correctly retrieved once again. let generator = QLThumbnailGenerator.shared let size: CGSize = CGSize(width: 64, height: 64) let request = QLThumbnailGenerator.Request(fileAt: url, size: size, scale: NSScreen.main!.backingScaleFactor, representationTypes: .icon) request.iconMode = true do { let thumb = try await generator.generateBestRepresentation(for: request) thumb.nsImage.size = size return thumb.nsImage } catch { print("generateThumbnail: \(error)") return nil } It seems like the QuickLook Thumbnailing cache does not invalidate automatically upon folder customization. Is there any way to manually invalidate the QuickLook Thumbnailing cache?

use `NEHotspotConfigurationManager.shared.apply(hotspotConfig)` to join a wifi slow on iphone17+
we use the api as NEHotspotConfigurationManager.shared.apply(hotspotConfig) to join a wifi, but we find that in in iphone 17+, some user report the time to join wifi is very slow the full code as let hotspotConfig = NEHotspotConfiguration(ssid: sSSID, passphrase: sPassword, isWEP: false) hotspotConfig.joinOnce = bJoinOnce if #available(iOS 13.0, *) { hotspotConfig.hidden = true } NEHotspotConfigurationManager.shared.apply(hotspotConfig) { [weak self] (error) in guard let self else { return } if let error = error { log.i("connectSSID Error while configuring WiFi: \(error.localizedDescription)") if error.localizedDescription.contains("already associated") { log.i("connectSSID Already connected to this WiFi.") result(["status": 0]) } else { result(["status": 0]) } } else { log.i("connectSSID Successfully connected to WiFi network \(sSSID)") result(["status": 1]) } } Normally it might only take 5-10 seconds, but on the iPhone 17+ it might take 20-30 seconds.

Xcode and Reading documents from a URL connection.
I have an Xcode app where currently txt files in the project display text data as a list. I can search through the lists and have buttons that will swap between different lists of information that you can look through. The next task is I have URL connections to docx files on a SharePoint site. I am trying to use an URLsession function to connect to the URL links to download the documents to the document directory then have the application read the doc information to then be displayed as the txt info would. The idea is that the docx files are a type of online update version of the data. So when the app is used and on wifi, the app can update the list data with the docx files. I have code set up that should access the URL files but I am struggling to figure out how to read the data and access from this Documents directory. I have been looking online and so far I am at a loss on where to go here. If anyone can help or provide some insight I would greatly appreciate it. I can try and provide code samples to help explain things if that is needed.

Importing files to Files.app in iOS 26 Simulator
In previous versions of the simulator, it was possible to import files into the Files app by dragging them from the Finder into the Simulator. It appears that in the iOS 26 Simulator, this opens the file in Safari. I've only tried it with .json files so far. The documentation at https://developer.apple.com/documentation/xcode/sharing-data-with-simulator says that the original behaviour should happen: To add files to Simulator, select one or more files in Finder on your Mac, then click the Share button. Select Simulator from the share destination list. Choose the simulated device from the drop-down list. Simulator opens the Files app, and lets you select where to save the files. I'd love to learn if this is intentional behaviour, and if so, what workarounds there might be. I use this pattern quite a lot, as I have a HealthKit app, and I've built a system that allows me to export workouts as JSON files from a real device, that I can then import into a simulator for testing. Edit: I found a workaround. Make a folder in Files.app, then search for it within ~/Library/Developer/CoreSimulator/Devices. Open the folder in Finder, then add any files you want to be available in the Simulator.

SpeechAnalyzer error "asset not found after attempted download" for certain languages
I am trying to use the new SpeechAnalyzer framework in my Mac app, and am running into an issue for some languages. When I call AssetInstallationRequest.downloadAndInstall() for some languages, it throws an error: Error Domain=SFSpeechErrorDomain Code=1 "transcription.ar asset not found after attempted download." The ".ar" appears to be the language code, which in this case was Arabic. When I call AssetInventory.status(forModules:) before attempting the download, it is giving me a status of "downloading" (perhaps from an earlier attempt?). If this language was completely unsupported, I would expect it to return a status of "unsupported", so I'm not sure what's going on here. For other languages (Polish, for example) SpeechTranscriber.supportedLocale(equivalentTo:) is returning nil, so that seems like a clearly unsupported language. But I can't tell if the languages I'm trying, like Arabic, are supported and something is going wrong, or if this error represents something I can work around. Here's the relevant section of code. The error is thrown from downloadAndInstall(), so I never even get as far as setting up the SpeechAnalyzer itself. private func setUpAnalyzer() async throws { guard let sourceLanguage else { throw Error.languageNotSpecified } guard let locale = await SpeechTranscriber.supportedLocale(equivalentTo: Locale(identifier: sourceLanguage.rawValue)) else { throw Error.unsupportedLanguage } let transcriber = SpeechTranscriber(locale: locale, preset: .progressiveTranscription) self.transcriber = transcriber let reservedLocales = await AssetInventory.reservedLocales if !reservedLocales.contains(locale) && reservedLocales.count == AssetInventory.maximumReservedLocales { if let oldest = reservedLocales.last { await AssetInventory.release(reservedLocale: oldest) } } do { let status = await AssetInventory.status(forModules: [transcriber]) print("status: \(status)") if let installationRequest = try await AssetInventory.assetInstallationRequest(supporting: [transcriber]) { try await installationRequest.downloadAndInstall() } } ...
