My Notifications Message Extension doesn't seem to run after distributing my app via Enterprise IPA
I'm developing an app that receives push notifications, and writes the contents of the push notification to a shared location between the main app and a Notifications Message Extension, through App Groups. This all seems to work on my phone, with developer mode turned on, but when I archive my app as an Enterprise IPA and distribute it, the users can install the app on their phones and they receive the push notifications, but it doesn't appear that the message extension is running as my app displays the content of the shared data in the App Groups on the main screen and nothing is showing. I have tried on 3 phones, and it only works on the phone with developer mode turned on. I can't tell at this point whether it's because of a signing issue, or build phase order issue, or something else?

"Final reminder: Answer the updated age ratings questions." But there are no questions
I received the email from Apple entitled "Final reminder: Answer the updated age ratings questions." However if I login to App Connect, or click on the link in the email to go directly to App Connect, there are no questions. There are 6 tabs/sections in App Connect, flicking through them, there are no questions about age ratings. Even if I could find these questions, if there are no apps actually released to the App Store (and no plans to release any) is answering these questions necessary? The Apple email sounds quite threatening in its tone, hinting at consequences if you don't comply, but I can't comply because no questions in App Connect are being presented.

Certificate revocation check with SecPolicyCreateRevocation/SecTrustEvaluateWithError does not work
When trying to check if a certificate has been revoked with SecPolicyCreateRevocation (Flags: kSecRevocationUseAnyAvailableMethod | kSecRevocationRequirePositiveResponse) and SecTrustEvaluateWithError I always get the result error code errSecIncompleteCertRevocationCheck, regardless if the certificate was revoked or not. Reproduction: Execute the program from the attached Xcode project (See Feedback FB21224106). Error output: Error: Error Domain=NSOSStatusErrorDomain Code=-67635 ""revoked.badssl.com","E8","ISRG Root X1" certificates do not meet pinning requirements" UserInfo={NSLocalizedDescription="revoked.badssl.com","E8","ISRG Root X1" certificates do not meet pinning requirements, NSUnderlyingError=0x6000018d48a0 {Error Domain=NSOSStatusErrorDomain Code=-67635 "Certificate 0 “revoked.badssl.com” has errors: Failed to check revocation;" UserInfo={NSLocalizedDescription=Certificate 0 “revoked.badssl.com” has errors: Failed to check revocation;}}} To me it looks like that the revocation check just fails („Failed to check revocation;“), no further information is provided by the returned error. In the example the certificate chain of https://revoked.badssl.com (default code) and https://badssl.com is verified (to switch see comments in the code). I have a proxy configured in the system, I assume that the revocation check will use it. On the same machine, the browsers (Safari and Google Chrome) can successfully detect if the certificate was revoked (revoked.badssl.com) or not (badssl.com) without further changes in the system/proxy settings. Note: The example leaks some memory, it’s just a test program. Am I missing something? Feedback: FB21224106

Apple’s age rating deadline: will apps be blocked after 31 Jan 2026?
Apple sent a final reminder asking developers to complete the updated age rating questions in App Store Connect. Final reminder: Answer the updated age ratings questions. We’re reaching out because you have not provided responses to the updated age ratings questions in the App Information section of your app in App Store Connect. If you don’t answer these questions by January 31, 2026, you won’t be able to submit app updates in App Store Connect. The email says that if the age rating questions are not answered by 31 January 2026, you will not be able to submit app updates. What is not clear is what actually happens after that date. Many of us are in the middle of development and may not be ready to submit a new build before the deadline. The email does not explain whether this means: A) You can still submit updates after 31 January 2026, as long as you complete the age rating questionnaire before submitting, or B) The app becomes locked and cannot be updated at all once the deadline passes This is not stated explicitly in the email, which makes it confusing for me. It would be helpful if Apple could clearly confirm what developers should expect after 31 January 2026, especially for apps that are still undergoing active development. Anyone knows?

[Texas SB 2420] How to Retrieve Parental Consent Status
After reading the news below, we are currently working on updating our app in preparation for the enforcement of Texas SB 2420. https://developer.apple.com/news/?id=2ezb6jhj Based on the information in the announcement, we understand that parents will be able to revoke their consent for apps. However, we are unsure how an app is supposed to obtain or verify the parent’s consent status in the first place. We reviewed the Declared Age Range API and PermissionKit’s Significant Change API, but could not find any functionality related to this. If anyone with expertise on this topic has insight, we would greatly appreciate your guidance. Thank you in advance.

SwiftUI @State Updates Not Reflecting in UI Until View Reconstruction (Xcode Preview & Device)
Issue Description I'm experiencing a bizarre SwiftUI state update issue that only occurs in Xcode development environment (both Canvas preview and device debugging), but does not occur in production builds downloaded from App Store. Symptom: User taps a button that modifies a @State variable inside a .sheet Console logs confirm the state HAS changed But the UI does not update to reflect the new state Switching to another file in Xcode and back to ContentView instantly fixes the issue The production build (same code) works perfectly fine Environment Xcode: 16F6 (17C52) iOS: 26.2 (testing on iPhone 13) macOS: 25.1.0 (Sequoia) SwiftUI Target: iOS 15.6+ Issue: Present in both Xcode Canvas and on-device debugging Production: Same code works correctly in App Store build (version 1.3.2) Code Structure Parent View (ContentView.swift) struct ContentView: View { @State private var selectedSound: SoundTheme = .none @State private var showSoundSheet = false var body: some View { VStack { // Display button shows current selection SettingButton( title: "Background Sound", value: getLocalizedSoundName(selectedSound) // ← Not updating ) { showSoundSheet = true } } .sheet(isPresented: $showSoundSheet) { soundSelectionView } } private var soundSelectionView: some View { ForEach(SoundTheme.allCases) { sound in Button { selectedSound = sound // ← State DOES change (confirmed in console) // Audio starts playing correctly audioManager.startAmbientSound(sound) } label: { Text(sound.name) } } } private func getLocalizedSoundName(_ sound: SoundTheme) -> String { // Returns localized name return sound.localizedName }} What I've Tried Attempt 1: Adding .id() modifier SettingButton(...) .id(selectedSound) // Force re-render when state changes Result: No effect Attempt 2: Moving state modification outside withAnimation // Before (had animation wrapper):withAnimation { selectedSound = sound}// After (removed animation):selectedSound = sound Result: No effect Attempt 3: Adding debug print() statements selectedSound = soundprint("State changed: (selectedSound)") // ← Adding this line FIXES the issue! Result: Mysteriously fixes the issue! But removing print() breaks it again. This suggests a timing/synchronization issue in Xcode's preview system. Observations What works: ✅ Console logs confirm state changes correctly ✅ Switching files in Xcode triggers view reconstruction → everything works ✅ Production build from App Store works perfectly ✅ Adding print() statements "fixes" it (likely changes execution timing) What doesn't work: ❌ Initial file load in Xcode ❌ Hot reload / incremental updates ❌ Both Canvas preview and on-device debugging Workaround that works: Click another file in Xcode Click back to ContentView.swift Everything works normally Key Question Is this a known issue with Xcode 16's SwiftUI preview/hot reload system? The fact that: Same exact code works in production Adding print() "fixes" it File switching triggers reconstruction that fixes it ...all suggest this is an Xcode tooling issue, not a code bug. However, it makes development extremely difficult as I can't reliably test changes without constantly switching files or killing the app. What I'm Looking For Confirmation: Is this a known Xcode 16 issue? Workaround: Any better solution than constantly switching files? Root cause: What's causing this state update timing issue? Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

iOS App rejected
Guideline 2.5.1 - Performance - Software Requirements The app uses or references the following non-public or deprecated APIs: Iobmobile Classes: • __SwiftValue The use of non-public or deprecated APIs is not permitted, as they can lead to a poor user experience should these APIs change and are otherwise not supported on Apple platforms. Can anyone she some light as to what __SwiftValue even means?

Tap to Pay Entitlement only for development
Hi, We applied for Tap to Pay on iPhone entitlement and were approved, but on distribution support it's only showing Development. We can build and debug Tap to Pay on development, but unable to build release. We opened ticket with Apple support but they were saying it was configured correctly. I attached screenshot of our developer account entitlement for Tap to Pay. It clearly said Development only.

Liquid Glass TabBar animations causes Hangs, bug with UIKitCore?
With iOS 26.1 we started seeing a bug that only appears on iPhone Air. This bug is visible with simulators too. I have tried so many different ways to fix the issue, but Instruments Profiler is pointing at UIKitCore. We load a tab bar, when the user attempts to switch a tab, the app hangs and never recovers. It happens right as the animation of the Glass bubble is in progress. I have tried a UIKit Tab bar, a SwiftUI Tab bar. I tore out AppDelegate and did a direct @main SwiftUI entry for my application. This issue appears with every tab bar instance I try. I attempted to disable LiquidGlass by utilizing this flag UIDesignRequiresCompatibility in my plist, but the flag seems to be ignored by the system. I am not sure what else to try. I have a trace file if that is helpful. What else can I upload? Here is what the code looks like. struct ContentView: View { @State private var selectedTab = 2 var body: some View { TabView(selection: $selectedTab) { Text("Profile") .tabItem { Label("Me", systemImage: "person") } .tag(0) Text("Training") .tabItem { Label("Training", systemImage: "calendar") } .tag(1) Text("Home") .tabItem { Label("Home", systemImage: "house") } .tag(2) Text("Goals") .tabItem { Label("Goals", systemImage: "target") } .tag(3) Text("Coach") .tabItem { Label("Coach", systemImage: "person.2") } .tag(4) } } } #Preview { ContentView() } and AppView entry point import SwiftUI @main struct RunCoachApp: App { var body: some Scene { WindowGroup { ContentView() } } }

Update or remove Ruby 2.6
macOS Tahoe ships with Ruby 2.6.10 which was End Of Life in April 2022 (https://www.ruby-lang.org/en/downloads/branches/). How can I either upgrade it to Ruby 3.4.7 or delete it, so that my mac meets minimum cybersecurity requirements? I use rbenv for more recent versions of Ruby at the moment so don't need any suggestions on how to do add them, I just need rid of the dangerously out of date system Ruby, thanks.

App signed and notarized successfully, but macOS flags it as malicious on other machines
I’m facing an issue with my macOS app after code signing and notarization. The app is signed with my Developer ID and notarized using xcrun notarytool. Everything works fine on the machine where the signing was done — Gatekeeper accepts it, no warning appears, and codesign/spctl checks pass. However, when running the same .app on other Macs, users receive a Gatekeeper warning saying the app is "malicious software and cannot be opened". The signature is valid and the notarization log shows status: Accepted. What I've tried: Verified signature with codesign --verify --deep --strict --verbose=2 Checked notarization status via xcrun notarytool log Assessed Gatekeeper trust with spctl --assess --type execute Everything passes successfully on the development machine. Why would the app be treated as malicious on other systems even after notarization? I'm happy to share logs and technical details if needed.

Scanning Macintosh HD produces single .nofollow file since update to macOS 26.1
A user of one of my apps reported that since the update to macOS 26.1 they are no longer able to scan Macintosh HD: the app used to work, but now always reports that Macintosh HD contains a single empty file named .nofollow, or rather the path is resolved to /.nofollow. Initially I thought this could be related to resolving the file from the saved bookmark data, but even restarting the app and selecting Macintosh HD in an open panel (without resolving the bookmark data) produces the same result. The user tried another app of mine with the same issue, but said that they were able to scan Macintosh HD in other App Store apps. I never heard of this issue before and my apps have been on the App Store for many years, but it looks like I might be doing something wrong, or the APIs that I use are somehow broken. In all my apps I currently use getattrlistbulk because I need attributes that are not available as URLResourceKey in all supported operating system versions. What could be the issue? I'm on macOS 26.1 myself and never experienced it.

WiFi aware demo paring issue
I am developing a program on my chip and attempting to establish a connection with the WiFi Aware demo app launched by iOS 26. Currently, I am encountering an issue during the pairing phase. If I am the subscriber of the service and successfully complete the follow-up frame exchange of pairing bootstrapping, I see the PIN code displayed by iOS. Question 1: How should I use this PIN code? Question 2: Subsequently, I need to negotiate keys with iOS through PASN. What should I use as the password for the PASN SAE process? If I am the subscriber of the service and successfully complete the follow-up frame exchange of pairing bootstrapping, I should display the PIN code. Question 3: How do I generate this PIN code? Question 4: Subsequently, I need to negotiate keys with iOS through PASN. What should I use as the password for the PASN SAE process?

CoreMediaErrorDomain -15628 playback failure in iOS 26 (React Native / AVPlayer, HLS stream)
Hi, After updating to iOS 26, our app is facing playback failures with AVPlayer. The same code and streams work fine on iOS 18 and earlier. Error - Domain[CoreMediaErrorDomain]:Code[-15628]:Desc[The operation couldn’t be completed.]:Underlying Error Domain[(null)]:Code[0]:Desc[(null)] Environment: iOS version: ios 26 React Native: 0.69 Video library: react-native-video (AVPlayer under the hood) Stream type: HLS (m3u8) with segment (.ts) files Observed behaviour: Playback works initially on iOS 26. On iOS 26, the stream fails at runtime after a few seconds/minutes (not on first load). Network logs show 307 redirects on some segment requests. After this, AVPlayer throws the above error. Playback fails intermittently on slow/unstable networks.

BGTaskScheduler Terminated due to memory issue
Hello everybody! I'm currently working on a Bluetooth Low Energy Sync that is using BGTaskScheduler & successfully running periodically in the Background on iOS 26. I did watch this years WWDC Session 227 (Finish tasks in the background) & follow the recommendations as suggested. Currently, the App is only using 37 Mb (iPhone 12 mini) & no Location or other services are running in Background. However, when opening Safari & scrolling through some webpages, the App is killed because of "Terminated due to memory issue". I profiled the App & followed advice when it comes to reducing the memory footprint of the App. Are there any additional steps I can take to prevent the App being killed? Are there any recommendations for periodically scheduled Tasks when it comes to the Interval? Do more frequent Tasks (30min compared to one or two hours) have any impact? I tried many different schedules but none seem to make a difference. From my observation, the App is first suspended & eventually killed because of the Memory Pressure. Any hints, suggestions or recommendations are highly appreciated! Thanks a lot for the support!

unifiedContacts identifier vs contactRelations identifier
The documentation specifies that when Contacts framework returns unified contacts that each fetched unified contact object (CNContact) has its own unique identifier that’s different from any individual contact’s identifier in the set of linked contacts and that when refetching a unified contact, that this identifier should be used. There is also an analogous identifier within the list of contactRelations, but each of these don't seem to corespondent to the unified contacts. For example, is a new contact (Sheryl Zakroff) is created in the simulator Contacts and their spouse is set to Hank Zakroff. However, the GUID created for the contactRelations identifier does not correlate to the original Hank Zakroff GUID and cannot be searched. Is this a bug or what is the indent of the contactRelations identifier? Here's a debug output of walking the unifiedContacts: Name: Hank Zakroff 2E73EE73-C03F-4D5F-B1E8-44E85A70F170 - Other : (555) 766-4823 - Other : (707) 555-1854 Name: David Taylor E94CD15C-7964-4A9B-8AC4-10D7CFB791FD - Other : 555-610-6679 Name: Sheryl Zakroff DE783BC8-7917-4138-93F6-3AF0FD4CE083 - Other : (707) 555-1854 - Spouse: <CNContactRelation: 0x60000000dd60: name=Hank M. iOS Speech Error on Mobile Simulator (Error fetching voices)
I'm writing a simple app for iOS and I'd like to be able to do some text to speech in it. I have a basic audio manager class with a "speak" function: import Foundation import AVFoundation class AudioManager { static let shared = AudioManager() var audioPlayer: AVAudioPlayer? var isPlaying: Bool { return audioPlayer?.isPlaying ?? false } var playbackPosition: TimeInterval = 0 func playSound(named name: String) { guard let url = Bundle.main.url(forResource: name, withExtension: "mp3") else { print("Sound file not found") return } do { if audioPlayer == nil || !isPlaying { audioPlayer = try AVAudioPlayer(contentsOf: url) audioPlayer?.currentTime = playbackPosition audioPlayer?.prepareToPlay() audioPlayer?.play() } else { print("Sound is already playing") } } catch { print("Error playing sound: \(error.localizedDescription)") } } func stopSound() { if let player = audioPlayer { playbackPosition = player.currentTime player.stop() } } func speak(text: String) { let synthesizer = AVSpeechSynthesizer() let utterance = AVSpeechUtterance(string: text) utterance.voice = AVSpeechSynthesisVoice(language: "en-GB") synthesizer.speak(utterance) } } And my app shows text in a ScrollView: ScrollView { Text(self.description) .padding() .foregroundColor(.black) .font(.headline) .background(Color.gray.opacity(0)) }.onAppear { AudioManager.shared.speak(text: self.description) } However, the text doesn't get read out (in the simulator). I see some output in the console: Error fetching voices: Swift.DecodingError.dataCorrupted(Swift.DecodingError.Context(codingPath: [], debugDescription: "Invalid container metadata for _UnkeyedDecodingContainer, found keyedGraphEncodingNodeID", underlyingError: nil)). Using fallback voices. I'm probably doing something wrong here, but not sure what.

Notarization hangs forever
I've been trying to have an app I've built notarized by Apple. The processing hangs there for hours just waiting. I even tried with a tiny 1KB test file, it has been stuck for 25+ minutes, and I have 7 real submissions stuck for 24+ hours. Any Apple representative can help please? I need to publish and release my app asap.
