What’s the best way to review and track the ranked keywords of competing apps for ASO?
Started an ASO challenge on an older mother-baby app and began by analyzing competitors’ ranked keywords to uncover gaps, relevance, and high-intent phrases using tools like Appvector. By identifying core keyword roots and filtering by context and search intent, I narrowed down high-value opportunities to expand from 146 to over 1,000 relevant search terms for the next steps in the ASO strategy.

How to prevent window scene restoration
We have an iOS app running on macOS (not Mac Catalyst). The preferences are in a dedicated UIWindowScene. We don't want this scene to be restored, so when you start the app the preferences shouldn't be visible. How can we prevent the UIWindowScene restoration? Alternatively, if we can't prevent it, how can we ensure the main window scene is in front of the preferences window scene on app start?

URGENT: App rejected for "manual check-in" requirement not in Guidelines 5.1.2 — built feature anyway, still waiting (APP LAUNCH, BANGKOK dependency
Our solo traveler safety app has been rejected multiple times; for random reasons. Latest rejection demands "manual check-in each time" for location display — this requirement doesn't appear in published Guidelines 5.1.2 or 5.1.5. BUT!! We built the feature anyway: users invisible by default, must tap Check In to appear on map, auto-expires 24hrs. Submitted video proof, screenshots, detailed notes. Age rating set to 18+. (its not even adult but we did it anyway as to match our own policy) Comparable apps (Couchsurfing, Life360, Snap Map) approved without this requirement. Time-critical: investor meetings Bangkok Dec 11, flight Dec 10 11pm GMT - 15 months development. UK registered company. Has anyone dealt with unpublished requirements being applied inconsistently? Any advice appreciated - I cant get through to dev/app review team or senior advisors. And lovely call handlers in cork tried his. best but cannot do anything - ive not slept for near 24 hours due to unknown reasons - some minor make sense, and other just made - but we covered it anyway; im not sure what to do??? Flutter iOS crash on cold start - EXC_BAD_ACCESS Stack overflow in UIKit view hierarchy
I'm experiencing intermittent crashes on iOS when launching a Flutter app after it was killed from the app switcher. The app works fine when resumed from background. Environment: Flutter 3.38.3 Crash signature: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGBUS) Stack overflow in (null) compare:options:range:locale: > Thread 0: CFStringGetLength → CFStringCompareWithOptionsAndLocale → UIKitCore ( 85+ inlined recursive calls) What I've tried: Increased stack size to 64MB (-Wl,-stack_size,0x4000000) - didn't help Disabled iOS State Restoration - didn't help Added snapshot overlay in applicationWillResignActive - helped for background issue, but not cold start Key observation: The crash happens intermittently. Sometimes the app opens on 2nd attempt, sometimes on 5th. This suggests a race condition between Flutter engine initialization and iOS view hierarchy traversal. Question: Is there a way to delay iOS view hierarchy operations until Flutter is fully initialized? Any help appreciated!

iOS subscription: First purchase never triggers server notifications for a new Subscription Group
Hello, I’m experiencing a strange issue with a newly created Subscription Group in my iOS app. For all my existing subscription groups, everything works perfectly — initial purchase, renewals, cancellations, all notifications arrive normally. But for this one newly created group, the first purchase never triggers any server notification from App Store Server Notifications (ASSN). ⸻ 📘 Problem Summary • I created a new Subscription Group in App Store Connect. • The products are all Approved and Published for over a week. • Users can successfully purchase the subscription in production. • The purchase is shown as Purchased in the App Store purchase UI. • The receipt can be fetched locally on device. • But my server receives no notifications, including: • DID_RENEW • DID_CHANGE_RENEWAL_STATUS • SUBSCRIBED • ONE_TIME_CHARGE • CONSUMPTION_REQUEST • etc. The old subscription groups still send notifications normally, so the notification URL and server infrastructure are correct.

Safari Web Extension not receiving App Groups data from iOS app
I'm trying to sync authentication data from my iOS app to a Safari Web Extension using App Groups, but the extension isn't consistently receiving the data. Setup: App Group: group.com.airaai.AiraApp (configured in both app and extension) iOS app writes auth data using UserDefaults(suiteName: "group.com.airaai.AiraApp") Extension's Swift SafariWebExtensionHandler reads from App Groups in beginRequest() Extension's JavaScript reads from browser.storage.local Problem: Extension popup always shows "logged out" even when: User is logged into main iOS app Auth data exists in App Groups (verified via native module logs) Handler successfully writes test values to extension storage Current Behavior: Handler CAN read from App Groups ✅ Handler CAN write test values to extension storage ✅ But auth data doesn't appear in browser.storage.local when popup checks ❌ Popup reads empty keys even though handler logged writing them Code: // Handler reads from App Groups guard let sharedDefaults = UserDefaults(suiteName: "groupName") else { return } let authData = sharedDefaults.string(forKey: "auth_data") // Handler writes to extension storage (tried multiple suite names) let extensionDefaults = UserDefaults(suiteName: Bundle.main.bundleIdentifier ?? "") extensionDefaults?.set(authData, forKey: "oauth_token") extensionDefaults?.synchronize() // Popup reads from storage browser.storage.local.get(['oauth_token']).then(data => { console.log(data); // Always empty {} }); What I've tried: ✅ App Groups properly configured in both targets ✅ Extension has App Groups capability enabled ✅ Multiple UserDefaults suite names (bundle ID, bundle ID + suffix) ✅ Delayed sync attempts in handler ✅ Comprehensive logging Questions: What is the correct UserDefaults suite name for Safari extension storage on iOS? When does beginRequest() get called? Can it be triggered manually? Is App Groups the right approach, or should I use a different pattern? Alternatives I've considered: Deep link/redirect method (app opens Safari with token in URL) Content script intercepts URL and sends to background script Is this a supported approach for iOS Safari extensions? Any guidance or examples would be greatly appreciated!

pairedUUIDsDidChangeNotification never fires, even with MFi hearing aids paired
Hi everyone — I’m implementing the new Hearing Device Support API described here: https://developer.apple.com/documentation/accessibility/hearing-device-support I have MFi hearing aids paired and visible under Settings → Accessibility → Hearing Devices, and I’ve added the com.apple.developer.hearing.aid.app entitlement (and also tested with Wireless Accessory Configuration: https://developer.apple.com/documentation/bundleresources/entitlements/com.apple.external-accessory.wireless-configuration ). com.apple.developer.hearing.aid.app xxxxx but the app won't even compile with this entitlement Problem NotificationCenter.default.addObserver(...) for pairedUUIDsDidChangeNotification never fires — not on app launch, not after pairing/unpairing, and not after reconnecting the hearing aids. Because the notification never triggers, calls like: HearingDeviceSession.shared.pairedDevices always return an empty list. What I expected According to the docs, the notification should be posted whenever paired device UUIDs change, and the session should expose those devices — but nothing happens. Questions Does the hearing.aid.app entitlement require special approval from Apple beyond adding it to the entitlements file? Is there a way to verify that iOS is actually honoring this entitlement? Has anyone successfully received this notification on a real device? Any help or confirmation would be greatly appreciated.

Merchant domain verification
Hello, I'm experiencing an irregular issue with Apple Pay merchant domain verification. As you know, Apple requires domain verification every two months to maintain Apple Pay functionality. The problem is that while the verification sometimes happens automatically without any issues, other times it fails to complete, even though the required file "apple-developer-merchantid-domain-association.txt" is correctly available on our server. When automatic verification fails, the Apple Pay service becomes non-functional on our website, forcing us to perform a manual verification to restore the pending service. Is it normal to encounter such inconsistent automatic verification processes? What could be causing these intermittent verification failures, whereas manual verification always succeed? suggesting this might not be related to IP address restrictions described on the Apple documentation. Thank you in advance,

Annual in-app subscription upgrade prorated?
As a developer I have a question I would like cleared up. We offer two tiers of annual subscriptions in our apps. These subscriptions are under the same subscription group in App Store connect. My question is, if a user purchases tier 1 of the annual subscription for $10.00, and uses it for 6 months; then chooses to upgrade to tier 2 which costs $20.00 per year. Would the user be pro-rated the difference in price i.e. charge only another $10.00 at the time of the upgrade., or are they charged $20.00 and then refunded the difference in their remaining lower tier subscription? I keep finding inconsistent answers across the Apple community forums on this.

Flutter iOS - EXC_BAD_ACCESS crash on cold start after app was killed, affects ~1-2% of users
Question: How to prevent Flutter app crash on iOS 18 during cold start when iOS traverses view hierarchy before Flutter engine is fully initialized? Help needed: Looking for a way to either delay iOS view hierarchy traversal or ensure Flutter is fully initialized before iOS lifecycle callbacks fire. Problem Summary Our Flutter app crashes on cold start for approximately 1-2% of iOS users. The crash occurs specifically on iOS and only under these exact conditions: When crash happens: User opens app and uses it normally ✅ User minimizes app (goes to background) ✅ User returns to app from background ✅ (works fine) User kills app from app switcher (swipe up to close) User taps app icon to launch again → CRASH ❌ Key observations: Crash is intermittent - app may open on 2nd, 3rd, or 5th attempt 100% reproducible on affected devices by repeating kill→launch cycle ~98% of users have no issues Environment Flutter: 3.38.3 Crash Logs (from Sentry) Crash Type 1: Stack Overflow (most common) OS Version: iOS 18.7.2 (22H124) Exception Type: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGBUS) Exception Codes: BUS_NOOP at 0x000000016ad5be90 Application Specific Information: compare:options:range:locale: > Stack overflow in (null) Thread 0 Crashed: 0 CoreFoundation CFStringGetLength 1 CoreFoundation CFStringCompareWithOptionsAndLocale 2 CoreFoundation 3 libsystem_c bsearch 4 CoreFoundation 5 UIKitCore ... 15-99: UIKitCore 0x30e177148 [inlined] // 85+ recursive calls Crash Type 2: Use-After-Free Exception Type: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGSEGV) Exception Codes: SEGV_NOOP at 0x0500007f14000000 KERN_INVALID_ADDRESS at 0x500007f14000000 Thread 0 Crashed: 0 libobjc.A.dylib objc_retainAutoreleaseReturnValue 1 UIKitCore ... 6 libobjc.A.dylib objcrootDealloc 7 QuartzCore // CALayer operations What We Tried (nothing solved cold start crash) Attempt Result Increased stack size to 64MB (-Wl,-stack_size,0x4000000) ❌ No effect Disabled iOS State Restoration ❌ No effect Added isViewLoaded checks in AppDelegate ❌ No effect Added try-catch around GetStorage/SecureStorage init ❌ No effect Added isAppActive flag to track app state ❌ No effect Snapshot overlay in applicationWillResignActive ✅ Fixed background→foreground crash, ❌ but NOT cold start Current AppDelegate.swift import UIKit import Flutter @main @objc class AppDelegate: FlutterAppDelegate { private var snapshotView: UIView? private var isAppActive = false override func application( _ application: UIApplication, didFinishLaunchingWithOptions launchOptions: [UIApplication.LaunchOptionsKey: Any]? ) -> Bool { GeneratedPluginRegistrant.register(with: self) window?.overrideUserInterfaceStyle = .light isAppActive = true return super.application(application, didFinishLaunchingWithOptions: launchOptions) } override func application(_ application: UIApplication, shouldSaveSecureApplicationState coder: NSCoder) -> Bool { return false } override func application(_ application: UIApplication, shouldRestoreSecureApplicationState coder: NSCoder) -> Bool { return false } override func applicationWillResignActive(_ application: UIApplication) { guard isAppActive, let window = self.window, let rootVC = window.rootViewController, rootVC.isViewLoaded, snapshotView == nil else { return } let snapshot = UIView(frame: window.bounds) snapshot.backgroundColor = .white snapshot.tag = 999 window.addSubview(snapshot) snapshotView = snapshot } override func applicationDidBecomeActive(_ application: UIApplication) { guard snapshotView != nil else { isAppActive = true return } snapshotView?.removeFromSuperview() snapshotView = nil } }

Test subscribe on test flight
Hi! I created a subscription class and a button that starts the purchase flow. In the Xcode environment and Simulator everything works correctly — the purchase sheet appears and the subscription flow works as expected. But when I test the app in TestFlight, the subscription button doesn’t appear at all. I cannot trigger a purchase, and I can’t find a clear tutorial that explains how to make subscriptions work specifically in TestFlight. Here is what I have already done: I created the subscription in App Store Connect I set up a Sandbox account and logged in on the device. StoreKit sync works and the product ID matches the one in App Store Connect. The same code works perfectly in Xcode Debug and Simulator, but the button is missing in TestFlight. I’m totally stuck. Can someone explain how to correctly set up and test subscriptions in TestFlight and why the subscription button would disappear even though everything works in Xcode? Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated! THIS IS SUB CLASS @Published private(set) var products: [Product] = [] @Published private(set) var activeSubscriptions: Set<StoreKit.Transaction> = [] private var updates: Task<Void, Never>? var hasActiveSubscription: Bool { activeSubscriptions.contains { transaction in guard let expirationDate = transaction.expirationDate else { return false } return expirationDate > Date() && transaction.revocationDate == nil } } init() { updates = Task { for await update in StoreKit.Transaction.updates { if case .verified(let transaction) = update { activeSubscriptions.insert(transaction) await transaction.finish() } } } } deinit { updates?.cancel() } // MARK: PRODUCT LOADING func fetchProducts() async { do { let ids = ["test_name"] products = try await Product.products(for: ids) } catch { print("Failed to load products: \(error)") products = [] } } // MARK: PURCHASE func purchase(_ product: Product) async throws { let result = try await product.purchase() switch result { case let .success(.verified(transaction)): await transaction.finish() case .success(.unverified): break case .pending: break case .userCancelled: break @unknown default: break } } // MARK: ACTIVE SUBSCRIPTIONS func fetchActiveSubsciptions() async { var active: Set<StoreKit.Transaction> = [] for await entitlement in StoreKit.Transaction.currentEntitlements { if case .verified(let transaction) = entitlement { active.insert(transaction) } } self.activeSubscriptions = active } > ``` THIS IS BUTTON ```VStack(spacing: 8) { ForEach(sub.products) { product in PrimaryButtonView(text: mainButtonTitle) { Task { do { try await sub.purchase(product) } catch { print("Purchase error: \(error)") } } } } }```

"This in-app purchase has already been bought" Error and SSL Failure on Restore
There is a project that has been running online for years. A few months ago, a player reported that after making their first successful IAP at a specific purchase point, any subsequent attempts to purchase the same item do not trigger the payment window. Instead, they get the error:"This in-app purchase has already been bought".After contacting Apple Support once, the player was able to make a payment, but the issue reappeared on the next attempt. So far, this is the only user reporting the problem, other people can purchase normally. Question1: Here’s what I’ve tried: I reviewed the code and ensured that TransactionObserveris correctly called. I’ve also added **[[SKPaymentQueue defaultQueue] finishTransaction:transaction]**in all possible places, but the issue persists. According to the logs, after the user’s first purchase, every subsequent IAP attempt returns the same receipt from the initial successful transaction, even though I’m certain finishTransactionis being called. It seems like this method isn’t having the intended effect. Question2: I asked the player to manually trigger the Restore Purchases button by calling [[SKPaymentQueue defaultQueue] restoreCompletedTransactions]. the restoreCompletedTransactionsFailedWithErrorcallback returned the following error: Error Domain=NSURLErrorDomain Code=-1200 "An SSL error has occurred and a secure connection to the server cannot be made." The player has already checked their device time and tried switching between Wi-Fi and 4G, but the error remains. Is this SSL error related to the "already bought" error? Note that this SSL issue occurred during a separate restore process, not during a purchase attempt. Question: 3: I noticed that I’m not calling finishTransaction inside the restoreCompletedTransactionsFailedWithErrorcallback. Should I add it there? Purchase Logs: The player clicked "Restore Purchases" and then attempted another purchase. The purchase flow appears normal, but the IAP returns an old, already-used receipt. Walking an entity around an immersive space in visionOS like the window drag bar
I'm trying to understand how Apple handles dragging windows around in an immersive space. 3d Gestures seem to be only half of the solution in that they are great if you're standing still and want to move the window an exaggerated amount around the environment, but if you then start walking while dragging, the amplified gesture sends the entity flying off into the distance. It seems they quickly transition from one coordinate system to another depending on if the user is physically moving. If you drag a window and start walking the movement suddenly matches your speed. When you stop moving, you can push and pull the windows around again like a super hero. Am I missing something obvious in how to copy this behavior? Hello world, which uses the 3d gesture has the same problem. You can move the world around but if you walk with it, it flies off. Are they tracking the head movement and if it's moved more than a certain amount it uses that offset instead? Is there anything out of the box that can do this before I try and hack my own solution?

App Store Connect Showing Old Metadata After Updates (Account Termination Appeal APL255848)
Hello everyone, I’m an iOS developer from Türkiye, and I’m currently facing a serious issue regarding my Apple Developer account termination (Appeal Ticket: APL255848). Problem: I have removed all references, icons, descriptions, and metadata related to my previous app name (“Nano Banana”) both inside the app and on the App Store listing. I submitted updated assets, screenshots, and a new metadata package. However, the App Review Board seems to still be seeing old cached metadata, old icons, or previous descriptions that no longer exist in my build. Because of this, every response from App Store Connect repeats the same text, even though I have already made and proven all required changes. Current Situation: My account is terminated, and my appeal has been pending for over 3 weeks with identical non-actionable responses. I am not receiving my revenue for the past 2 months. I want to comply fully with the Apple Developer Program Agreement and provide any documents required (invoices, trademarks, API invoices, technical details, etc.). I believe there may be a metadata caching issue or the review team seeing an older version of my app. My question to the community: Has anyone experienced a case where App Store Connect or the App Review Board continues to see outdated metadata even after everything is updated? Is there a recommended way to ensure Apple sees the latest changes (e.g., waiting for metadata propagation, submitting a blank metadata update, reuploading the build, or another technical step)? Any guidance or similar experiences would be extremely helpful. Thank you in advance. Kind regards, Yunus Emre Özdiyar
