Error creating FileProvider domain on external drive
Hi, I am trying to use the new FileProvider feature available on macOS 15 to create a FileProvder domain on an external drive. I am creating the domain with the initializer init(displayName:, userInfo:, volumeURL:) But when I try to add the domain with NSFileProviderManager.add() I get error NSCocoaErrorDomain, code 3328 - feature not supported. My external drive is APFS formatted and encrypted. I am checking its eligibility with NSFileProviderManager.checkDomainsCanBeStoredOnVolume(at:) and the result is "eligible". What should be done to solve this problem - is there a specific entitlement I have to add? I checked the possible entitlements and I don't see anything pointing in this direction. I will be very grateful for any help!

Plugin/Module deployment support in App Store
Our app provides configuration and maintenance features for Siemens electrical devices. The app supports multiple devices and the devices have their own specific features, which also need to be supported by our App. The devices can be released to the market only when our app supports those features. Our app release timeline is once in every 4 months. We face a challenge when some of these devices are not able to deliver their features by our release time. So, we would like to make these devices plugins, which can be independently released, without releasing the App every time. The app would, of course, be released once in every 4 months, depending on the common features. I'm not able to find how to release only the plugins within the app, without releasing the entire app. Some one has suggested app extensions, but that does not fit our solution as in some cases, we need continuous polling of data from one or mode devices for minutes or hours, as the app can be used by the user to monitor some of the device values.

Sequoia 15.3 Beta 24D5034f
Hi folks, First - I'm not a developer. Some time ago I came across Sequoia Beta and installed it thinking it was just a usage data collection thing. I recently wanted to delete it because I suspected it was causing other issues, but was only offered to have updates stopped. My MacBook Pro M2 still says I'm running Sequoia 15.3 (Beta 24D5034f). I have another, maybe unrelated issue and posted a question about it on Apple Community but the question was deleted and I was pointed here because I mentioned the Beta! This was my question: I can FaceTime from the iPhone but when I try to FaceTime from the Mac, I get a notification on the Mac saying: "iPhone calls not available. Your iPhone is not configured to allow calls using this Mac". My iPhone is a 14Plus on iOS 18.2.1 (22C161). I've tried the iPhone and Mac fixes suggested by Apple but no luck there - that was all about turning iMessages and FaceTime off or signing out for both devices, then power cycling both devices. I don't understand how this is supposed to work. Could my issue be related to the Beta? If so, and in any case, how do I remove the Beta? TIA

How to zoom with camera preview
Hey everyone, I'm using this view code to create a camera preview for my app. I wanted to create a zoom experience when you pinch. I know how ton do this for images, but not for a view like this. Does anyone know anything that could help? Thank you.

Hello.
Dear Apple, I am sending this review to tell you that with my new update. I am not a fan of the photos set up. I find it very confusing and find myself getting irritated very often and giving up after searching for an image… which is frustrating for many reasons including I need my camera roll for work often. please make adjustments with the newest update… please. thank you, if anyone took the time to read this. De officiële Syrische vlag met twee sterren is vervangen door de huidige Syrische vlag met drie sterren, wetende dat geen enkel land ter wereld de vlag van het land vervangt zonder deze in de grondwet van het land op te nemen. Daarom is het beter om de Syrische vlag met twee sterren te behouden in de volgende iOS 18.4-release, of beide vlaggen samen te voegen, omdat de meeste Syriërs niet de voorkeur geven aan de vlag met drie sterren.

Console SSH remote authentication not working since some time
I am trying to connect to my openbsd server. The command works over local network (I am identified by public key) but fails over remote network. I get the following error : $ ssh -vvv sylvain @ saboua.xyz OpenSSH_9.8p1, LibreSSL 3.3.6 ... debug1: Authenticator provider $SSH_SK_PROVIDER did not resolve; disabling debug3: channel_clear_timeouts: clearing debug1: Connecting to saboua.xyz port 22. ssh: connect to host saboua.xyz port 22: Operation timed out A solution I gues would be to use brew's LibreSSL 4.0, but I cant find how to use it instead of the system LibreSSL.

Guidance on Integrating Meta Ads with Google AdMob Bidding Mediation and Testing Issues
Hello, I am currently working on integrating Meta Audience Network (Meta) with Google AdMob using bidding mediation for an iOS app. The goal is to show ads through meta , with AdMob acting as the mediation layer. I have successfully set up both the Meta SDK and Google AdMob SDK, as well as the GoogleMobileAdsMediationFacebook adapter. My AdMob and Meta accounts are both linked for mediation, and I have configured the correct placement IDs for Meta within AdMob. Currently i am creating a demo project with demo accounts i haven't added app live link as my app isn't on AppStore and haven't added any payment method. However, I am encountering a couple of issues and need some guidance: 1. Test Ads Work, but Real Ad Unit Fails: • When using test AdMob ad unit IDs, everything works fine, and ads are shown as expected. • But when I use my original AdMob ad unit ID, I get the error: “Publisher data not found.” • Does this mean my app is not fully set up or is there something else I might be missing in my configuration? • Is it necessary to go live on the App Store to get ads from the real ad unit, even for testing purposes? 2. Meta Ads via Bidding Mediation: • I have integrated Meta through AdMob’s bidding mediation system. But i am showing ads using GADBannerView is it right way to show meta ads that are mediated with google admob. If i have to show ads with FBAdView from where to get withBidPayload value for this function adView.loadAd(withBidPayload: "what_here") 3. Payment Method Requirements: • My app is still in the demo/testing phase and is not live on the App Store. I have not added any payment methods in either AdMob or Meta. • Is it necessary to add a payment method for testing purposes, or is this only required when I start monetizing and going live? I would appreciate any advice or pointers to ensure the setup is correct and to understand why the original ad unit ID isn’t working during testing. Thank you for your time and assistance!

Analyzing recent crash reports for answers - kernel panics are causing Mac to frequently restart
Experiencing frequent automatic restarts on my late 2013 iMac running OS Catalina 10.15.7. Fairly certain that the issue doesn't have to do with my peripherals (external hard drive, flash drives, CD burner) and thinking it's a software issue. How to Restrict In-App Purchases to a Specific User Email or Differentiate Users?
Hello, I am implementing In-App Purchases in my app and want to ensure that only users whose email matches their Apple ID email (the account used on the device as apple account) can purchase the subscription. Is it possible to retrieve the Apple ID email from the device or verify if the email matches the user's email in the app? If this is not feasible, what is the recommended approach to differentiate users and associate subscriptions with specific users in a secure way? For instance, how do I ensure that a subscription is tied to the correct user within my app? I understand privacy constraints, but I am trying to find the best way to match the subscription to the correct user while adhering to Apple's guidelines. App logout every time delete from open aps
Hi, I am testing my app with TestFlight. The app is developed with React Native Expo. Step 1: Log into the app – everything works fine. Step 2: Use the app – everything works fine. Step 3: Close the app without logging out, just close it. Step 4: Remove the app from the recent apps window. Step 5: Try to open the app again, but it requires login again. I don’t understand why the login parameters are not retained and why the app asks me to log in again. Screen time
My screen time report says that I’m on Google an average of 24 hrs and 4 minutes a day. How is this possible? I can’t be on Google more than 10 minutes a day let alone 24 hrs. I think it’s probably tracking whatever Google does when I’m not in the app or on the cite as part of screen time, but I can’t get it to stop. Are other people having this issue? How do I stop this so I can see my real screen time?

Globe key cannot switch to iOS emoji keyboard
Scenario: hardware keyboard is attached to iPhone Before iOS 18.2, if I setup only two keyboards (e.g., english and emoji) in the system, click Globe key can switch to iOS emoji keyboard without problem. Since iOS 18.2, it stop working, and emoji keyboard is never displayed. I need to add one more keyboard, then I can switch to emoji keyboard (via the keyboard selector).

lowQualityThumbnail in QLThumbnailGenerator stops working from 15.2
Our code is using .lowQualityThumbnail to generate a thumbnail, it stops working when users update to 15.2 . Test it with a regular jpg file for fileURL. The only way to make it work is to change it to .thumnail or remove it. It's not deprecated, is it a MacOS bug? customers don't want to keep updating the software. iPhone 16 Pro boot loop with iOS 18.4 beta
I installed iOS 18.4 on Friday evening, all worked well during Saturday and Sunday, Monday morning the Phone rebooted and appeared to have installed an Update, I didn´t notice, I was about to answer a WhatsApp and the TestFlight beta didn´t start up, a renew of the App was not possible due to TestFlight not being available. So I thought a reboot would help, but I did a reset, since then BOOT LOOP. I brought in recovery mode, updated with the 18.4 ipsw, no change - BOOT LOOP

Please Help! App won't open for 1 user, Just fades away.
[https://vimeo.com/manage/videos/1051990313) We are experiencing an issue where a user is unable to open our app on their iPhone 16 Pro Max running iOS 18.3. When the user selects the app, it begins to scale to screen size but then fades away without fully opening. It is unclear whether this is a crash or another issue. To troubleshoot, we created a simplified version of the app containing only a single screen displaying "Hello, World." The user experiences the same issue with this version, leading us to believe there may be a device-specific setting or compatibility issue at play. Steps the User Has Tried: Checked device storage – over 200GB available Offloaded and reinstalled the app Deleted and reinstalled the app Updated to iOS 18.3 Forced restart of the device Reset network settings Turned off VPN Despite these steps, the issue persists. We would appreciate any guidance on potential causes or troubleshooting steps to resolve this issue.
