ChatGPT in Xcode 26 not recognizing Plus subscription

Hi all,

Has anyone else run into this issue in Xcode 26?

I’m logged into my paid ChatGPT Plus account, but the Xcode integration doesn’t seem to recognize the subscription. After a short period of use, I get the following error:

“Over daily limit. ChatGPT in Xcode will be unavailable for up to 24 hours. For higher limits, sign in with a paid ChatGPT account.”

Since I’m already signed in with a paid account, this looks like either a bug or a limitation specific to Xcode.

Is this expected behavior, or has anyone found a workaround to make Xcode properly recognize Plus accounts?

Is there a separate limit that Apple imposes over and above your ChatGPT Plus subscription?

Same here. I encountered it first yesterday, today it came back after maybe 10 or 20 prompts while coding. And I have ChatGPT Plus subscription, and I am logged in. Apparently it is a wider problem.

This has been happening for the last 2 weeks for me. Every day I get maybe an hour of time before the limit hits. I have my Plus subscription logged in and it was working fine a few weeks ago. Updated to the latest everything and tried resetting the AI accounts/features a few times.

I'm having the same issue.

It seem like ChatGPT, regardless if it is Plus, gives a usage amount daily for XCode. I know that on ChatGPT itself, you are given a limit of higher models, and the LLM in XCode is pretty heavy, so they probably set a token usage limit or something. Hope this makes some sense.

The issue still exists for a business account: it takes the limit from the personal account. Xcode 26.1.1

I'm having this also (26.2). Still no fix I guess? Sad. This was very useful while it lasted.

Try logging into Codex under Agents instead. During the sign in process it'll ask you to pick the account (i.e. company or personal).

Once picked it should work fine if you start a new conversation with Codex selected.

xcode 26.5 - this is still an issue--and very frustrating. I've tried using an API key, I've logged out completely, rebooted, logged back in and still get hit with the limit reached after only a few prompts.

I cannot find any way over this.

Signing in the agents or the chat makes no difference.
