StoreKit 2 Fails to Load Subscription Products
We are experiencing a critical issue where StoreKit 2 is returning empty products when using Product.products(for:), specifically on devices running iOS 18.4.

This issue does not occur on iOS 18.3 or earlier.

 Steps:

Created a subscription product (e.g. "upm1") in App Store Connect
Confirmed the product is active, localised, and part of a valid subscription group
Call the following Swift code using StoreKit 2:
 Task { do { let products = try await Product.products(for: ["upm1"]) print(products) } catch { print("Error: (error)") } } 4. Result: products is an empty list.

This regression is blocking subscription testing on iOS 18.4.

Kindly someone please advise on a potential fix or workaround.

Sandbox user can't see StoreKit subscriptions
Hi everyone, I’m struggling to get StoreKit 2 to fetch products in my SwiftUI app while using a sandbox user. I think I’ve followed all necessary setup steps in Xcode, App Store Connect, and my physical test device, but Product.products(for:) always returns an empty array. I’d appreciate any insights! What I’ve Done Local App Setup (Xcode 16.2) Created a blank SwiftUI Xcode project. Enabled In-App Purchase capability under Signing & Capabilities. Implemented minimal StoreKit 2 code to fetch available products (see below). Using the correct bundle identifier, which matches App Store Connect. App Store Connect Configuration Registered the app with the same bundle identifier. Created an Auto-Renewable Subscription with: Product ID: v1 (matches my code). All fields filled (pricing, localization, etc.). Status: Ready for Review. Linked the subscription to the latest app version in App Store Connect. Sandbox User & Testing Setup Created a sandbox tester account. Logged in with the sandbox user under Settings → Developer → Sandbox Apple ID. This was on my physical device (iOS 18.2). Installed and ran the app directly from Xcode (⌘+R). Issue: StoreKit Returns No Products Product.products(for:) does not return any products. There are no errors thrown, just an empty array. I confirmed that StoreKit Configuration is set to None in Xcode. No StoreKit-related logs appear in the Console. Code Snippets //StoreKitManager.swift import StoreKit import SwiftUI @MainActor class StoreKitManager: ObservableObject { @Published var products: [Product] = [] @Published var errorMessage: String? func fetchProducts() async { do { let productIDs: Set<String> = ["v1"] // Matches App Store Connect let fetchedProducts = try await Product.products(for: productIDs) print(fetchedProducts) // Debug output DispatchQueue.main.async { self.products = fetchedProducts } } catch { DispatchQueue.main.async { self.errorMessage = "Failed to fetch products: \(error.localizedDescription)" } } } } //ContentView.swift import SwiftUI struct ContentView: View { @StateObject private var storeKitManager = StoreKitManager() var body: some View { VStack { if let errorMessage = storeKitManager.errorMessage { Text(errorMessage).foregroundColor(.red) } else if storeKitManager.products.isEmpty { Text("No products available") } else { List(storeKitManager.products, id: \.id) { product in VStack(alignment: .leading) { Text(product.displayName).font(.headline) Text(product.description).font(.subheadline) Text("\(product.price.formatted(.currency(code: product.priceFormatStyle.currencyCode ?? "USD")))") .bold() } } } Button("Fetch Products") { Task { await storeKitManager.fetchProducts() } } } .padding() .onAppear { Task { await storeKitManager.fetchProducts() } } } } #Preview { ContentView() } Additional Information iOS Version: 18.2 Xcode Version: 16.2 macOS Version: 15.3.1 Device: Physical iPhone (not simulator) TestFlight Build: Not used (app is run directly from Xcode) StoreKit Configuration: Set to None

IAP receipt validation fails with status code: 21002
I have implemented IAP. The purchases are successful. The refresh receipt is working fine, which then calls the requestDidFinish(_ request: SKRequest) delegate. I'm fetching the receipt url through 'Bundle.main.appStoreReceiptURL'. When I convert the receipt data in base64 string and send it to app store's sandbox api and try to validate the receipt, it fails giving status code : 21002.

Consumable in-app purchases
I implemented consumable in-app purchases in an iPhone app using StoreKit's ProductView(). When I tap the payment button in ProductView(), I am taken to the payment screen and once the payment is completed, the desired code appears to be executed, so there doesn't seem to be a problem, but when I tap the payment button in ProductView() again, the desired code is executed without being taken to the payment screen. So one payment can be used any number of times. I thought I wrote it exactly according to the reference, but will it be okay in a production environment? Is there any code that is necessary?

Clarification on Offer-Code Redemption When Streamlined Purchasing Is Turned Off
Background We sell a suite of iPadOS/macOS apps that share a single auto-renewable subscription using this architecture. Per “Offering a Subscription Across Multiple Apps” we require users to sign in before purchasing so we can propagate the entitlement and avoid duplicate subscriptions across apps. To enforce that sign-in step we plan to turn off Streamlined Purchasing in App Store Connect. Question We also want to distribute subscription offer codes (for promotion, retention, appeasing dissatisfied customers, etc.). After Streamlined Purchasing is turned off, will customers still be able to redeem offer codes outside the app (App Store “Redeem Code” UI or redemption URL)? If outside-app redemption remains possible, it bypasses our sign-in gate and could let the same customer buy the suite twice (once via each app). Is there an approved method to limit offer-code redemption to the in-app flow only, or otherwise prevent such duplicate subscriptions? If no such limitation exists, what best-practice workaround does Apple recommend for multi-app suites that must turn off Streamlined Purchasing yet still wish to use offer codes without duplication risk? Environment StoreKit 2; server-side receipt validation & cross-app entitlement propagation. Apps support the in-app presentCodeRedemptionSheet flow. We expect to use both one-time-use and custom offer codes.

AppStore.sync() not restoring purchases
On an app that was using the old API for In-App Purchases (StoreKit 1). The app is already published on the App Store. The purchase is non-consumable. While trying to migrate to StoreKit 2, I'm unable to restore purchases. Specifically displaying and purchasing products works as expected, but when deleting and reinstalling the app, and then trying to restore purchases I can't do it. I'm trying to restore them using the new APIs but it doesn't seem to be working. What I have tried so far: I'm listening for transaction updates during the whole lifetime of the app, with: Task.detached { for await result in Transaction.updates { if case let .verified(safe) = result { } } } I have a button that calls this method, but other than prompting to log in again with the Apple ID it doesn't seem to have any effect at all: try? await AppStore.sync() This doesn't return any item for await result in Transaction.currentEntitlements { if case let .verified(transaction) = result { } } This doesn't return any item for await result in Transaction.all { if case let .verified(transaction) = result { } } As mentioned before I'm trying this after purchasing the item and deleting the app. So I'm sure it should be able to restore the purchase. Am trying this both with a Configuration.storekit file on the simulator, and without it on a real device, in the Sandbox Environment. Has anyone being able to restore purchases using StoreKit 2? PD: I already filed a feedback report on Feedback Assistant, but so far the only thing that they have replied is: Because StoreKit Testing in Xcode is a local environment, and the data is tied to the app, when you delete the app you're also deleting all the transaction data for that app in the Xcode environment. The code snippets provided are correct usage of the API. So yes, using a Configuration.storekit file won't work on restoring purchases, but if I can't restore them on the Sandbox Environment I'm afraid that this won't work once released, leaving my users totally unable to restore what they have already purchased.

App Clip Closes Before SKOverlay Can Show “Open” Button When Live Activity Is Involved
I have an App Clip that uses SKOverlay.AppClipConfiguration to install the full app. Before I added a Live Activity call (Activity.request), the user could see “Install,” then “Open.” Now, once “Get” is tapped, the Clip immediately closes—no “Open” button appears. If I remove the Live Activity code, it works again. I’ve confirmed that parent/child entitlements match, and tested via TestFlight. Is there a known issue or recommended workaround for combining SKOverlay + Live Activities in an App Clip so it doesn’t dismiss prematurely? Any insights are appreciated! Note live activity is for App Clip only.

StoreKit2 AppTransaction originalPurchaseVersion
I am looking to move from paid app to fremium without upsetting my existing users. I see WWDC2022 session where new fields introduced in iOS 16 are used to extract original application version user used to purchase the app. While my app supports iOS 14 and above, I am willing to sacrifice iOS 14 and go iOS 15 and above as StoreKit2 requires iOS 15 at the minimum. The code below is however only valid for iOS 16. I need to know what is the best way out for iOS 15 devices if I am using StoreKit2? If it is not possible in StoreKit2, then how much is the work involved in original StoreKit API(because in that case I can handle for iOS 14 as well)?

In-app purchases - why so frustrating?
I'm adding my first in-app purchase to an app, and I'm finding the process incredibly frustrating. Aside from the Apple Developer Documentation not being clear enough, and kind of glossing over the technical steps required (and their sample code being woefully inadequate), App Store Connect and the testing sandbox simply don't work as they say they do. For example, in my app I've purchased the IAP and now I want to request a refund. I select the purchase, I choose a refund reason, and this page says, "To set up a test for approved refunds, select any refund reason on the refund request sheet, and submit the sheet. The App Store automatically approves the refund request in the testing environment." Well, when I re-launch the app the purchase is still there. I can't request a refund again because it says this is a duplicate refund request, so it knows that the purchase has had a request, and it's supposed to have automatically refunded it, but it clearly hasn't. So, I try clearing the purchase history via the Settings app > Developer > Sandbox Apple Account. Same thing. Purchase remains. Try clearing purchase history in App Store Connect. Same thing. How on Earth does anyone get an in-app purchase to work when the entire testing environment is so badly executed? How do I get past this? The IAP is the last part of the app that needs to be implemented, and I've lost a week on this already.

I see purchase price instead of install app button in app store page
I've just released my first on app store. I have monthly renewing subscription on my app, there is no pay wall for few days. When I look at my app store page after release it shows me app price upfront instead of users download the app. I know I have subscription, but I don't want it to be upfront before install I know other store that have the same model and users get to download their app. What am I missing?

Subscription Renewals in TestFlight Sandbox Testing
What happens after 12 renewals? Does the subscription expire completely? The next day when I try to manage settings for my sandbox account it says it cannot connect. I cannot see the status of subscription in: Settings-> App Store -> Sandbox Account -> Manage Logging out and logging in of my regular account does not fix that. When I login with a different non-testflight sandbox account I can finally edit those settings. There are some missing details in documentation explaining testflight sandbox accounts. Do these accounts stop working after 12 auto-renewals? I need more specific details in order to ensure subscriptions will work properly during production.

Migrating a Paid App to In-App Subscriptions
Hello, I’m trying to change the business model of my app to in-app subscriptions. My goal is to ensure that previous users who paid for the app have access to all premium content seamlessly, without even noticing any changes. I’ve tried using RevenueCat for this, but I’m not entirely sure it’s working as expected. I would like to use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions, so I’m attempting a hybrid model. On the first launch of the updated app, the plan is to validate the app receipts, extract the originalAppVersion, and store it in a variable. If the original version is lower than the latest paid version, the isPremium variable is set to true, and this status propagates throughout the app. For users with versions equal to or higher than the latest paid version, RevenueCat will handle the subscription status—checking if a subscription is active and determining whether to display the paywall for premium features. In a sandbox environment, it seems to work fine, but I’ve often encountered situations where the receipt doesn’t exist. I haven’t found a way to test this behavior properly in production. For example, I uploaded the app to TestFlight, but it doesn’t validate the actual transaction for a previously purchased version of the app. Correct me if I’m wrong, but it seems TestFlight doesn’t confirm whether I installed or purchased a paid version of the app. I need to be 100% sure that users who previously paid for the app won’t face any issues with this migration. Is there any method to verify this behavior in a production-like scenario that I might not be aware of? I’m sharing the code here to see if you can confirm that it will work as intended or suggest any necessary adjustments. func fetchAppReceipt(completion: @escaping (Bool) -> Void) { // Check if the receipt URL exists guard let receiptURL = Bundle.main.appStoreReceiptURL else { print("Receipt URL not found.") requestReceiptRefresh(completion: completion) return } // Check if the receipt file exists at the given path if !FileManager.default.fileExists(atPath: receiptURL.path) { print("The receipt does not exist at the specified location. Attempting to fetch a new receipt...") requestReceiptRefresh(completion: completion) return } do { // Read the receipt data from the file let receiptData = try Data(contentsOf: receiptURL) let receiptString = receiptData.base64EncodedString() print("Receipt found and encoded in base64: \(receiptString.prefix(50))...") completion(true) } catch { // Handle errors while reading the receipt print("Error reading the receipt: \(error.localizedDescription). Attempting to fetch a new receipt...") requestReceiptRefresh(completion: completion) } } func validateAppReceipt(completion: @escaping (Bool) -> Void) { print("Starting receipt validation...") guard let receiptURL = Bundle.main.appStoreReceiptURL else { print("Receipt not found on the device.") requestReceiptRefresh(completion: completion) completion(false) return } print("Receipt found at URL: \(receiptURL.absoluteString)") do { let receiptData = try Data(contentsOf: receiptURL, options: .alwaysMapped) print(receiptData) let receiptString = receiptData.base64EncodedString(options: []) print("Receipt encoded in base64: \(receiptString.prefix(50))...") let request = [ "receipt-data": receiptString, "password": "c8bc9070bf174a8a8df108ef6b8d2ae3" // Shared Secret ] print("Request prepared for Apple's validation server.") guard let url = URL(string: "https://buy.itunes.apple.com/verifyReceipt") else { print("Error: Invalid URL for Apple's validation server.") completion(false) return } print("Validation URL: \(url.absoluteString)") var urlRequest = URLRequest(url: url) urlRequest.httpMethod = "POST" urlRequest.httpBody = try? JSONSerialization.data(withJSONObject: request) URLSession.shared.dataTask(with: urlRequest) { data, response, error in if let error = error { print("Error sending the request: \(error.localizedDescription)") completion(false) return } guard let data = data else { print("No response received from Apple's server.") completion(false) return } print("Response received from Apple's server.") do { if let json = try JSONSerialization.jsonObject(with: data) as? [String: Any] { print("Response JSON: \(json)") // Verify original_application_version if let receipt = json["receipt"] as? [String: Any], let appVersion = receipt["original_application_version"] as? String { print("Original application version found: \(appVersion)") // Save the version in @AppStorage savedOriginalVersion = appVersion print("Original version saved in AppStorage: \(appVersion)") if let appVersionNumber = Double(appVersion), appVersionNumber < 1.62 { print("Original version is less than 1.62. User considered premium.") isFirstLaunch = true completion(true) } else { print("Original version is not less than 1.62. User is not premium.") completion(false) } } else { print("Could not find the original application version in the receipt.") completion(false) } } else { print("Error parsing the response JSON.") completion(false) } } catch { print("Error processing the JSON response: \(error.localizedDescription)") completion(false) } }.resume() } catch { print("Error reading the receipt: \(error.localizedDescription)") requestReceiptRefresh(completion: completion) completion(false) } } Some of these functions might seem redundant, but they are intended to double-check and ensure that the user is not a previous user. Is there any way to be certain that this will work when the app is downloaded from the App Store? Thanks in advance!

Issue with In-App Subscription Payments – Pending Transactions
Hi, I am experiencing an issue with in-app subscriptions in my React Native application known-singles, using the react-native-iap library. When a user subscribes to a plan, the transaction executes successfully, and a receipt is returned. However, the transaction remains in a pending state indefinitely and does not update. Additionally, the transaction amount is not deposited into my bank account, even though all banking details are correctly set up in App Store Connect. We have thoroughly debugged the issue on our end but could not identify the cause. TestFlight transactions complete successfully, but real purchases remain stuck in pending status. Here are the relevant details of our implementation: React Native version: 0.60.4 react-native-iap version: 4.2.2 Could you please assist in resolving this issue? Any guidance on why transactions are not being completed and why payouts are not being processed would be greatly appreciated. Looking forward to your support.

Sandbox environment extremely unreliable
I have two sandbox users in App Store Connect, as I'm trying to test in-app purchases and Family Sharing. They're set up fine; I can make purchases in the app. The issue is that the refund request sheet in my app sometimes shows properly and lets me request a refund, but I'd say >80% of the time the sheet just shows "Cannot Connect" with a "Retry" button. Hitting that button doesn't ever result in the sheet showing the refund page. The only fix for this is to delete the app from the device, and restart the device. This has to be a joke, right? I need to be able to test this IAP, and the sandbox environment is useless most of the time. Why? Anyone experiencing this sort of issue?

Can users create their own subscription plans?
I'm considering developing an app where users can create their own subscription plans by freely setting their prices, similar to YouTube's membership feature. I understand that in-app purchases must be used to unlock features within the app. With that in mind, I searched for APIs to enable this functionality but couldn't find relevant information. When I contacted Apple directly, they mentioned that they couldn't provide specific answers unless the app is under review. If anyone has knowledge about the following points, I would greatly appreciate your response: Is it possible to implement a feature similar to YouTube's membership using in-app purchase APIs? If it's not feasible with in-app purchases, is it allowed to use external payment services like Stripe?
