The newest iOS 26 CarPlay upgrade seems more like a downgrade with vehicles from Subaru with the 11.6 inch vertical infotainment display.
Such a big screen, but only one widget shows at a time additionally, prior to this iOS update we had three lines of apps on the main page now only two.
also to be noted album art size on all music streaming and podcast apps is extremely small about half the size of what it originally was prior to this update
yes, I tried turning on and off the screen optimization setting and CarPlay. It did not do anything.
I'm using one UITabBarController which leads to 6 NavigationController. Therefore the user will get 4 icons displayed and one icon with three points to see the rest of the Navigation Controller.
If the user now tries to edit the list and moves one item from the hidden area towards the TabBar at the bottom, the App crashes with the error:
Exception
NSException * "Can't add self as subview" 0x0000600000d16040
I can see this effect at least on both my apps.
If the same compilation is run on a older iOS version, there is no crash.
Is there anything I have to take care of the configuration of the TabBar, when it comes to iOS26?

Hi,
After updating to iOS 26, our app is facing playback failures with AVPlayer. The same code and streams work fine on iOS 18 and earlier.
Error - Domain[CoreMediaErrorDomain]:Code[-15628]:Desc[The operation couldn’t be completed.]:Underlying Error Domain[(null)]:Code[0]:Desc[(null)]
Environment:
iOS version: ios 26
React Native: 0.69
Video library: react-native-video (AVPlayer under the hood)
Stream type: HLS (m3u8) with segment (.ts) files
Observed behaviour:
Playback works initially on iOS 26.
On iOS 26, the stream fails at runtime after a few seconds/minutes (not on first load).
Network logs show 307 redirects on some segment requests. After this, AVPlayer throws the above error.
Playback fails intermittently on slow/unstable networks.
The top toolbar looks fine, but in the bottom toolbar, one of the layers is stretched into a capsule shape instead of an ellipse.
Is this intended?
I'm receiving output from avcapturesession and capturing an image using Vision, but the image is output in landscape orientation instead of portrait.
Even when I set the orientation to up in ciimage, cgimage, and uiimage, the image is still output in landscape orientation.
On iPhones 16 and below, the image is output in portrait orientation.
But on iPhones 17 and above, the image is output in landscape orientation.
Please help.

Wi-Fi: TKIP encryption protocol
Question: Unable to join the network
We have several products that are used by connecting to iPhone via Wi-Fi.
Recently, many customers who have purchased the iPhone 17 series have reported that they are unable to connect to Wi-Fi.
For Wi-Fi with TKIP encryption, after entering the password correctly to connect to the Wi-Fi, a pop-up appears stating "Unable to join the network.".
Only Wi-Fi with WPA2-AES can be used normally.
Before that, during the iPhone 11 era or even earlier, the TKIP encryption method was in normal use. However, the new iPhone models were incompatible with it, which obviously caused great inconvenience.
I hope the engineers can fix this issue to support Wi-Fi with older encryption protocols.
Hi everyone,
Starting today, my Xcode Cloud CI workflow can no longer successfully build iOS/macOS/visionOS targets. The Archive step does not report any errors, but the xcodebuild command hangs indefinitely and eventually fails with the following message:
The step invocation hit a user timeout. The xcodebuild archive invocation timed out. No activity has been detected on stdout, stderr or the result bundle in 30 minutes.
My iOS and macOS targets can still be built, but the build time has increased by 2-3x compared to before. That's interesting. After I removed the visionOS target, the iOS target also failed to build.
Additionally, since today, I’ve noticed a significant increase in network-related errors in Xcode Cloud. There have been multiple failures to download dependencies from Homebrew or GitHub.
I have confirmed that CI versions which previously built successfully are now failing, while running the same build commands locally works fine. Based on these observations, I suspect there may be an issue with the Xcode Cloud environment itself.
Has anyone else encountered similar problems? Any suggestions or updates would be appreciated!
Thanks!
I tried to apply a promotional offer to a subscribed user.
When I tested it in the Sandbox environment, it did not show the promotional payment popup but returned a “restored” status.
However, when I tested it in the Xcode environment, it correctly displayed the payment popup, but after I tapped the Subscribe button, it showed an “Unable to Purchase” popup like this:
And in the console I could see this error:
Received error that does not have a corresponding StoreKit Error: Error Domain=AMSErrorDomain Code=305 "Server Error The server encountered an error" UserInfo={AMSURL=http://localhost:56862/WebObjects/MZBuy.woa/wa/inAppBuy, AMSDescription=Server Error, NSDebugDescription=Server Error The server encountered an error, AMSServerErrorCode=3903, AMSStatusCode=200, AMSServerPayload={

}, AMSFailureReason=The server encountered an error}
Could someone help me resolve this issue? I’ve been struggling with it for two days and feeling exhausted...
The Widget Image display on iOS26 transparency mode is blank
Both of these writing methods show blank Spaces. Is there a problem with my code or a bug in the system?
The current compilation environment is Xcode Version 16.3 (16E140) iOS26.0
I'm trying to sign a .app package coming from Py2app.
Unfortunately I keep running into the same two issues:
The binary is not signed with a valid Developer ID certificate.
and
The signature does not include a secure timestamp.
I tried everything, from recreating the signatures, with different arguments, different keys and certificates, but it keeps complaining with these two errors on a long list of files.
For reference I added the python script I use for signing the files.

When you use .navigationTransition(.zoom(sourceID: "placeholder", in: placehoder)) for navigation animation, going back using the swipe gesture is still very buggy on IOS26. I know it has been mentioned in other places like here: https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/796805?answerId=856846022#856846022 but nothing seems to have been done to fix this issue.
Here is a video showing the bug comparing when the back button is used vs swipe to go back: https://imgur.com/a/JgEusRH
I wish there was a way to at least disable the swipe back gesture until this bug is fixed.
I am using macOS Tahoe on Xcode 26.

Hello,
I am developing with the Nearby Interaction framework using third-party UWB accessories (Murata SR040/SR150).
I observed a difference between U1-based and U2-based iPhones:
iPhone 12 Pro (U1 chip)
NINearbyObject.direction returns valid 3D vector (x, y, z).
Distance and direction both work as expected.
iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro (U2 chip)
NINearbyObject.direction is always nil.
Only distance is returned (around 0.35–0.40 m in my test).
Effectively behaves as "distance-only mode".
Environment:
Hardware: iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro
iOS version: 18.5
Accessory: Murata UWB SR040 / SR150
App: Using NINearbyAccessoryConfiguration with BLE-based discovery
Info.plist includes NSNearbyInteractionUsageDescription
Camera assistance was tested both ON and OFF
Expectation:
I expected the U2 chip to behave consistently with U1, i.e. provide direction vectors when possible.
Instead, on iPhone 15 Pro, direction is always unavailable (nil) while distance is returned correctly.
Questions:
Is this an intentional limitation for U2 chip + third-party accessories?
Is there a new requirement (e.g. certification, firmware update, capability flags) to enable direction on U2 devices?
Could this be related to NIDeviceCapability or the new Extended Distance Measurement (EDM) mode in U2?
Thanks in advance for any clarification.
The documentation specifies that when Contacts framework returns unified contacts that each fetched unified contact object (CNContact) has its own unique identifier that’s different from any individual contact’s identifier in the set of linked contacts and that when refetching a unified contact, that this identifier should be used.
There is also an analogous identifier within the list of contactRelations, but each of these don't seem to corespondent to the unified contacts. For example, is a new contact (Sheryl Zakroff) is created in the simulator Contacts and their spouse is set to Hank Zakroff. However, the GUID created for the contactRelations identifier does not correlate to the original Hank Zakroff GUID and cannot be searched.
Is this a bug or what is the indent of the contactRelations identifier?
Here's a debug output of walking the unifiedContacts:

If the extension uses manifest v3 and a background script in the form of a service worker, then in Safari it is not possible to open the background script debugging window. If I expand the Developer menu in Safari, there is nothing under Web Extension Background Data (or disappear after click), which is an error. In other browsers (Edge, Chrome, Opera, Firefox) this works correctly.
If I switch the background script back to non-persistent script mode, everything works fine and from the Developer menu and the Web Extension Background Data submenu I am able to open the background script debugging window for the extension. Am I doing something wrong?
Hello,
I've got Smart App Banner set up on my website. However, I want to be able to measure the traffic coming from this banner to the app store / app (i.e. measure impressions/downloads).
Apple documentation (https://developer.apple.com/help/app-store-connect/view-app-analytics/manage-campaigns/) says you can set up a campaign link and use it in the Smart Banner to track those who download / open the app store page using your smart banner (so that we can get attribution).
However, there is no documentation at all in terms of how this should be added to the tag when implementing a Smart App Banner.
I've tried so many different variations and none have tracked downloads. This includes a structure based on an example taken from WWDC from a few years back which also did not work.
I would appreciate any help!
We’re sending PTT notifications from our server and are receiving HTTP 403 from APNs for certain phones with the reason field BadEnvironmentKeyInToken. I can’t find this reason documented in Apple’s public error list. I’d like to confirm what this error specifically means and how to resolve it. Any guidance or clarification would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Here is the document I was referring to. https://developer.apple.com/library/archive/documentation/NetworkingInternet/Conceptual/RemoteNotificationsPG/CommunicatingwithAPNs.html

Hello,
Our Xcode Cloud builds are successfully archiving but fail every time during the "Export archive for app-store distribution" step. The issue appears to be a persistent authentication failure with App Store Connect that we are unable to resolve.
Primary Error:
The build logs show a critical authentication failure.
IDEDistribution.critical.log shows: App Store Connect request for store configuration failed for account Session Proxy Provider... Unable to authenticate with App Store Connect.
DVTITunesSoftwareService.log specifies the error is DVTITunesSoftwareServiceFoundation.DVTServicesSessionProviderCredentialITunesAuthenticationContextError.proxy.
The build process eventually terminates during the IDEDistributionSymbolsStep with an Rsync failed error, which we believe is a symptom of the earlier authentication failure.
Troubleshooting Already Performed:
We have already taken the following steps without success:
Verified the account used for the integration has "Account Holder" and "Admin" roles.
Confirmed that Xcode Cloud's automatic signing is working correctly and is able to create new provisioning profiles.
Thoroughly checked the App Store Connect web UI under Users and Access > Integrations > Xcode Cloud for a way to reset the connection, but no such option exists.
Removed and re-added the Apple ID in the Xcode application's settings (Xcode > Settings > Accounts) on a local Mac.
Our hypothesis is that the integrated authentication session between Xcode Cloud and App Store Connect is invalid or stale, and there is no user-facing way to reset it.
Has anyone else encountered this "Session Proxy Provider" authentication error with Xcode Cloud? Is there a known solution or a different method to force a re-authentication of the service connection?
Any guidance from Apple engineers or other developers would be greatly appreciated.

Hi everyone, I’m working on an iOS MusicKit app that overlays a metronome on top of Apple Music playback. To line the clicks up perfectly I’d like access to low-level audio analysis data—ideally a waveform / spectrogram or beat grid—while the track is playing. I’ve noticed that several approved DJ apps (e.g. djay, Serato, rekordbox) can already: • Display detailed scrolling waveforms of Apple Music songs • Scratch, loop or time-stretch those tracks in real time That implies they receive decoded PCM frames or at least high-resolution analysis data from Apple Music under a special entitlement. My questions: 1. Does MusicKit (or any public framework) expose real-time audio buffers, FFT bins, or beat markers for streaming Apple Music content? 2. If not, is there an Apple program or entitlement that developers can apply for—similar to the “DJ with Apple Music” initiative—to gain that deeper access? 3. Where can I find official documentation or a point of contact for this kind of request? I’ve searched the docs and forums but only see standard MusicKit playback APIs, which don’t appear to expose raw audio for DRM-protected songs. Any guidance, links or insider tips on the proper application process would be hugely appreciated! Thanks in advance.
