Xcode 27 cannot open storyboards or create simulators
Hi. Today we upgraded to Xcode 27 and installed the iOS 27 runtime component. Now storyboards cannot be opened. Xcode only displays "Loading iOS 27.0..." Besides, we cannot create simulators either. iOS 27 runtime appears missing even though it is installed. We tried removing and reinstalling the runtime but it didn't work. Right now all development came to a halt. Please help.

XCode 27b6 XCUITest clone simulators not visible in Device Hub (No Show Parallel Testing Devices)
Tried to execute our XCUITest test suite with XCode 27b6. The test plan is set to run in parallel. When executing tests locally with XCode 26, I can see the clone simulators executing the test (which is useful for debugging the test). With XCode 27b6 and Device Hub, I do not see the clone simulators executing, nor do I see a setting or menu item in Device Hub to show those clone simulators. There is no equivalent to the "Show Parallel Testing Devices" menu item in the XCode 26 sim. Am I missing something or is this a regression in XCode 27?

Xcode 27 is unable to open project
Hi, Looks like after MacOS 27 update all my projects located in specific folder are unable to be opened by Xcode 27. When I'm trying to run anything from there, Xcode just doesn't respond. It didn't crash or block, it sits in memory without window. There is no alert or anything. Turns out fresh downloaded project can be run from download folder but my old folder is some how locked and Xcode cannot do anything with all old repos and projects there.

Xcode 27 beta: "Missing package product" for a Swift Package in a registry
I have a project that builds fine in macOS 26 with Xcode 26. On macOS 27 b4 and Xcode beta, the same project can't build because of a framework that should be pulled from a Swift Package from a package-registry (named Registry, for example below), hosted on JFrog. I have the registry set up and have the token in keychain. The resolution of the packages works. But when I build, I get error like this: error: Missing package product 'Registry.Package_Package.Package' (in target 'Target' from project 'Project') . The real package should just be 'Registry.Package'. Any help with that? Is it a bug?

XCode 27 Shake not working
I'm not able to use shake gesture on Device Hub, the "Control + Command + Z" also does not seem to work. No shake option is available as was available earlier in the simulator. Any work around for this, or when will it be available ?

Flutter iOS Simulator extremely slow after macOS 27 / Xcode 27 update
Hi everyone, I'm experiencing a very slow Flutter iOS Simulator build after upgrading to macOS 27.0 and Xcode 27.0. System: MacBook Air M2 macOS 27.0 (26A428) Xcode 27.0 (27A266a) Flutter 3.47.3 (stable) Dart 3.13.3 iOS 27.0 Simulator Simulator: iPhone 17 Pro Max Flutter Doctor reports: [✓] Flutter [✓] Android toolchain [✓] Xcode [✓] Connected device [✓] Network resources • No issues found! The physical iPhone 17 launches the same Flutter app normally, but launching on the iOS Simulator is extremely slow. When I run: bash flutter run -d "iPhone 17 Pro Max" I get: Launching lib/main.dart on iPhone 17 Pro Max in debug mode... Running Xcode build... Xcode build done. 769.6s That's approximately 12 minutes and 50 seconds just for the Xcode build. The simulator is detected correctly by Flutter, so this doesn't appear to be a device detection issue. I have also installed Rosetta 2 because Flutter initially reported an architecture error with iproxy. Has anyone else experienced extremely slow Flutter/Xcode builds on the iOS 27 Simulator after upgrading to macOS 27/Xcode 27? Is there a known workaround or issue with the new Simulator/Device Hub? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Xcode 27 TV OS simulator: cannot type symbols
I cannot type any symbols from the keyboard anymore. This is not related to my app. You can just open the simulator, open the settings, go to account, and try to type an email address. It’s impossible to type the '@' it inserts '2' instead. All symbols are discarded as if the shift key is ignored. You can only type numbers. And if you select the @ on the virtual keyboard and press enter, the "next" step is selected and asks for the password. Anyone with the same issue about the keyboard? It was perfectly working in Xcode 26.6

Custom Keyboard extension
I’m developing a keyboard extension and noticed this weird issue. When I switch from normal keyboard to custom keyboard there is a faint overlay duplicate of the custom keyboard that comes from the top which makes the switching not seamless and I can’t seem to find the cause of this issue. I initially thought it had to do with the fact that it’s communicating with my app to get the latest data and check for edits but it’s not the case here. when I screen record it doesn’t appear as faint overlay, it appears as the keyboard becoming taller than usual and then sizing down to expected height. iOS26.6.2

Xcode 27 Playground New Page
In a Playground in Xcode 27 beta 6 I don't see a way to make a new page. It used to be File->New->Playground Page. That menu item is missing. The keyboard shortcut still exists, but it produces an error "No valid file actions for insertion." Am I missing an alternative? Or is this no longer possible?

agent view in Xcode
Question: Is there a recommended workflow for using Xcode's agent chat, given its current UI limitations? Context: I can't view my source code / project settings and the agent chat at the same time — it's one or the other. Worse, if I start typing in the chat bubble and then switch views to copy some text from my code, whatever I'd typed in the bubble gets lost. This makes even simple tasks painful. For example, the agent can't modify project settings directly while a chat is open, so I end up trying to follow a long list of setup instructions from the chat while constantly toggling to the settings view to actually make each change — it's a nightmare. Because of this, I end up doing anything non-trivial in VS Code with the command line instead, which is ironic since VS Code isn't even my first choice for SwiftUI work. I'm using version 27RC, so I'm starting to worry that this is the final design.

Xcode 27 beta 3 Device Hub zoom gesture doesn't work
I am using Xcode 27 beta 3 Device Hub with iPadOS Simulator. The iPadOS app I'm developing supports a standard two finger pinch/unpinch gesture to zoom in and out. In Xcode 26 Simulator, I could hold down the option key to zoom in and out with a two finger multitouch gesture. How can I effect a two finger multitouch zoom gesture with Xcode 27 beta 3 Device Hub iPadOS Simulator? I tried holding down the option key, which did not work. I tried using a macOS two finger multitouch pinch/unpinch zoom gesture, but this did not work. I've spent about 30 minutes investigating this, searching through Device Hub Settings and macOS Settings and exploring different permutations of options and reading Xcode 27 beta release notes. The Option key worked great in Xcode 26 iPadOS Simulator. I'd appreciate any assistance that an Apple Engineer could provide. Thank you.

Xcode 26.6 cannot download iOS 26.5 Simulator runtime — stuck on “Preparing…”
I am unable to download and install the iOS Simulator runtime in Xcode 26.6. Environment: MacBook Air with Apple silicon macOS Tahoe 26.6 Xcode 26.6 Build version 17F113 xcode-select -p: /Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer xcodebuild -showsdks correctly reports: Simulator - iOS 26.5 -sdk iphonesimulator26.5 However: xcrun simctl list runtimes returns: == Runtimes == No Simulator runtime is installed. In: Xcode > Settings > Components I attempted to install: iOS 26.5.1 + iOS 26.5 Simulator but it remains at: Preparing... for a very long time without actually downloading the runtime. I also tried: xcodebuild -downloadPlatform iOS This eventually failed with: Download was cancelled exit code 70 I also tried: xcodebuild -downloadPlatform iOS -exportPath ~/Downloads/XcodePlatforms The destination directory remains at 0 bytes. Checks already completed: More than 860 GiB free disk space Mac restarted Xcode quit and reopened xcode-select points to the correct Xcode installation /etc/hosts contains no Apple blocking entries gdmf.apple.com resolves correctly HTTPS connectivity to gdmf.apple.com works Apple MobileAsset / software update services are running iOS Simulator SDK itself is installed correctly The project can compile for iphonesimulator26.5, but Simulator execution and tests are blocked because no runtime can be installed. Questions: Is this a known issue with Xcode 26.6? Is there an official alternative way to download the iOS Simulator runtime? Can I install an earlier supported iOS Simulator runtime instead? Is there a MobileAsset or Xcode cache reset procedure recommended by Apple? Thank you.

Apple packages fail to build for watchOS in Xcode 27
Is there a known workaround (other than forking) for watchOS builds in Xcode 27 that depend on packages without a declared watchOS 9.0 floor? I depend on several Apple SPM packages with no minimum deployment target, such as https://github.com/apple/swift-algorithms. My project's minimum is 26.0. Xcode 27 will not build watchOS targets with these packages because watchOS 8.0 is below its range of supported targets. /.../SourcePackages/checkouts/swift-algorithms/Package.swift The watchOS Simulator deployment target 'WATCHOS_DEPLOYMENT_TARGET' is set to 8.0, but the range of supported deployment target versions is 9.0 to 27.0.x.

Can no longer drag photos into an iOS Simulator
Before Device Hub (27.0), you could drag a photo onto an iOS Simulator window and the photo would be added to that simulated device's Photos library. This does not work in Device Hub (27.0). Bummer if your app has to do with photos.

How to simulate two-finger touches in the Device Hub?
My app relies on two-finger tap for some interactions. This was easy in the old simulator by holding down option while clicking. Is there an equivalent interaction in Device Hub? (Option-click no longer seems to work.) If not, will this be added back in a future beta?
