I’m seeing inconsistent Spotlight behavior on macOS 26 Tahoe. In System Settings → Spotlight, I have: Apps: enabled Files: disabled Folders: disabled Despite this, Spotlight still shows regular files from many locations, including application support folders and user Library containers. Examples: /Applications/Adobe After Effects 2026/Presets/Image - Special Effects/Night Vision.ffx /Applications/Utilities/Adobe Creative Cloud/Components/CCLibs/resources/designLibraries/main.js.map /Users//Library/Containers/com.docker.docker/Data/log/vm/kmsg.log.0 I also added: /Applications/Adobe After Effects 2026/Presets to Spotlight → Search Privacy, but Spotlight continued to show: Night Vision.ffx in the Spotlight UI. This is reproducible with mdfind as well: mdfind 'kMDItemFSName == "Night Vision.ffx"c' returns: /Applications/Adobe After Effects 2026/Presets/Image - Special Effects/Night Vision.ffx I rebuilt the Spotlight index with: sudo mdutil -i off / sudo mdutil -X / sudo mdutil -i on / sudo mdutil -E / but the behavior persisted. I also encountered a separate but likely related issue where installed applications were temporarily missing from Spotlight search. For example, Visual Studio Code existed at: /Applications/Visual Studio Code.app and its Info.plist contained the correct bundle identifier: com.microsoft.VSCode but initially: mdls "/Applications/Visual Studio Code.app" returned: could not find /Applications/Visual Studio Code.app and: mdfind 'kMDItemCFBundleIdentifier == "com.microsoft.VSCode"' returned nothing. However, test-importing the app worked correctly: mdimport -t -d2 "/Applications/Visual Studio Code.app" and showed valid metadata such as: kMDItemCFBundleIdentifier = "com.microsoft.VSCode" kMDItemContentType = "com.apple.application-bundle" kMDItemDisplayName = "Visual Studio Code" Restarting Spotlight-related services: killall Spotlight killall corespotlightd sudo killall mds sudo killall mds_stores caused application indexing to start working again. After that, Visual Studio Code correctly appeared in: mdfind 'kMDItemCFBundleIdentifier == "com.microsoft.VSCode"' But the original problem remains: regular files still appear in Spotlight even though Files and Folders are disabled. I also verified that adding: com.apple.metadata:kMDItemSupportFileType = MDSystemFile as an extended attribute to a file makes it disappear from the Spotlight UI, which suggests the files are being indexed and surfaced despite the UI exclusion settings. Expected behavior: When Files and Folders are disabled in Spotlight settings, Spotlight should only show applications and should not show arbitrary files such as .ffx, .js.map, logs, presets, or application-support files. Also, files located inside a folder listed under Search Privacy should not appear in Spotlight results. Actual behavior: Spotlight continues to show these files, including files inside folders explicitly excluded by Search Privacy. This appears to be either: a regression in Spotlight result filtering on macOS 26 Tahoe, or a mismatch between the “Apps” category and application-related content indexing. It would be useful to know whether this is a known issue.

The last 12 months or longer have been a hacked life nightmare. Today I discovered multiple blacklists inc a level 2 threat blacklist from Apple engineering. I am a victim not a hacker, I have found malware on my MacBook (spyware), refusal of service notifications from google inc the hackers address which I tracked to Amsterdam, blackmail threats, retaliation and death threats but no help from anyone inc police and government or Apple and this potentially effects many Apple users. Please Apple tell me why I was blacklisted and investigate the spyware incident so I can get my life back. Any suggestions welcome.

Lots of apple's own documentation is a bit vague when it comes up to what precisely a user should do when they receive this. I've been reading up on what the notification redirects me to and it doesn't really give me any direct actions, it just says i should reset my device. Bug: Software Update UI state desync on iPadOS 27.0 RC (build 24A435) Reproduction Steps Complete downloading OTA system update, Software Update page shows Chinese localized button "现在更新" (Update Now). Go to iPad Storage and delete the downloaded OTA package. Navigate back to Software Update page immediately, NO reboot and NO manual page refresh. Expected Behavior The UI should detect that the local update file was removed, and switch the button to "下载" (Download). Actual Behavior The interface keeps displaying the "现在更新" button. The UI state is out of sync with the real existence of the downloaded OTA file. I did NOT tap the update button to prevent potential system risk; the state inconsistency itself is the bug. Full screen recording and sysdiagnose logs were submitted in Feedback Assistant report: FB24741350 I want to check whether other developers have encountered the same bug on iPadOS 27.0 RC. This UI inconsistency may confuse end users and bring potential safety misunderstanding, so I hope this issue can be prioritized and fixed before the official 27.0 release.

I’m having an annoying floating keyboard bug on my iPad Pro M4 using ipados27, it won’t let me move the keyboard all the way down or up the screen it’s like it’s stuck within a 16:9 letter box. It seems to sometimes work on the Home Screen and let me move it down all the way but if I go to the app screen or any app and use the keyboard it will spring it back up and won’t go back in the place I want it. I also noticed that there is no animation for the keyboard being dismissed as well. It simply will disappear within a split second. It’s very janky as even when I pull up the keyboard while in a windowed app that allows my home bar to show, the keyboard will cause the home bar to be hidden away even though the keyboard won’t even hover on the location of where the home bar is. It just hides it away, it seems that the region its allowed and where it’s detected within the system is being misinterpreted. The disappearing bug is newer it started on ipados27 but the restrictive keyboard has been an issue since like iPadOS 17 or 18. Another bug I’ve had for years is the virtual trackpad feature that’s inside the touch accommodations accessibility options. This feature is only on the iPad sadly, but I would find or think that it would be super useful especially when I have a secondary monitor attached to the iPad but it refuses to work at all when another monitor is connected. Not that it works without another monitor attached. It is completely unusable as it doesn’t scroll and gets stuck, the windowing management for the app I have open gets priory over my interactions on the trackpad leading to me resizing the window instead of the trackpad moving the mouse if I click on a corner too far. All in all it’s a completely useless feature and I have tried everything in the book to fix it myself and even report the issue but this has been broken since I got my first iPad. Please try the feature out and see what I mean, nothing works other than moving the old version of the mouse cursor, no scrolling, no right clicking, and of course no gestures including 3/4 finger app switching or pinching in or out to zoom or two finger slide.

Device: iPhone 17 Pro Max Timeline: • Installed iOS 27 Public Beta 2 at the end of July — worked fine for ~5 weeks • On September 5, phone started randomly rebooting/shutting down when swiping or opening apps • Forced reboot did not resolve it • Updated to Beta 8 — issue persisted • Updated to RC after Apple Event — issue initially persisted; phone eventually stopped shutting down on swipe, but Telegram and App Store stopped launching • Forced reboot after that → stuck on Apple logo → redirected to Recovery/Restore screen (current state) From crash logs collected before the phone became unresponsive (on Beta 8, build 24A5430a): • Kernel panic: userspace watchdog timeout: no successful checkins from backboardd in 181 seconds • backboardd last exited with SIGNAL, code 10 (SIGBUS) • SpringBoard had 2 induced crashes before the panic • ISP-cp coredump was skipped — IOP was not running, coredump_init returned KERN_NODE_DOWN • A second, separate incident: SpringBoard watchdog timeout (bug_type 409) on its own, without full kernel panic

Waiting several days for migration from individual account to organization. It has been several days with no response from Apple although they state a 24 hour turnaround. I even opened case ID is 20000138897695 to investigate status and still not response. Is anyone else experiencing these types of delays or can share advice on what to do next?
