Fraudsters gained access to my wife's phone through their APPLE ID
Hello everyone! We are from Russia, and we no longer have an official Apple store. All phones are imported through parallel imports. Yesterday, my wife logged out of her Apple ID and logged in to someone else's account, and as a result, her phone was in lost and locked mode. We have a sales receipt confirming the purchase, but it is from a Russian store. Can you please tell me if there is a way to unlock the phone or if it is already a brick? Scammers are asking for money to unlock the phone. Thank you in advance for your reply!

AASA not being fetched immediately upon app install
Hi Apple Devs, For our app, we utilize passkeys for account creation (not MFA). This is mainly for user privacy, as there is 0 PII associated with passkey account creation, but it additionally also satisfies the 4.8: Login Services requirement for the App Store. However, we're getting blocked in Apple Review. Because the AASA does not get fetched immediately upon app install, the reviewers are not able to create an account immediately via passkeys, and then they reject the build. I'm optimistic I can mitigate the above. But even if we pass Apple Review, this is a pretty catastrophic issue for user security and experience. There are reports that 5% of users cannot create passkeys immediately (https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/756740). That is a nontrivial amount of users, and this large of an amount distorts how app developers design onboarding and authentication flows towards less secure experiences: App developers are incentivized to not require MFA setup on account creation because requiring it causes significant churn, which is bad for user security. If they continue with it anyways, for mitigation, developers are essentially forced to add in copy into their app saying something along the lines of "We have no ability to force Apple to fetch the config required to continue sign up, so try again in a few minutes, you'll just have to wait." You can't even implement a fallback method. There's no way to check if the AASA is available before launching the ASAuthorizationController so you can't mitigate a portion of users encountering an error!! Any app that wants to use the PRF extension to encrypt core functionality (again, good for user privacy) simply cannot exist because the app simply does not work for an unspecified amount of time for a nontrivial portion of users. It feels like a. Apple should provide a syscall API that we can call to force SWCD to verify the AASA or b. implement a config based on package name for the app store such that the installation will immediately include a verified AASA from Apple's CDN. Flicking the config on would require talking with Apple. If this existed, this entire class of error would go away. It feels pretty shocking that there isn't a mitigation in place for this already given that it incentivizes app developers to pursue strictly less secure and less private authentication practices.

SecPKCS12Import fails in Tahoe
We are using SecPKCS12Import C API in our application to import a self seigned public key certificate. We tried to run the application for the first time on Tahoe and it failed with OSStatus -26275 error. The release notes didn't mention any deprecation or change in the API as per https://developer.apple.com/documentation/macos-release-notes/macos-26-release-notes. Are we missing anything? There are no other changes done to our application.

Hi, We're in the process of implementing Apple's App Integrity, but am getting stalled due to missing documents. Can anyone assist with this? We've been following https://developer.apple.com/documentation/devicecheck/validating-apps-that-connect-to-your-server to make the necessary updates, but have come up short with where the document references decoding the Attestation Object. Can we get more information here and how the decoding process work?

Sign in with Apple: Token status after app deletion in App Store Connect
Hello, I have a question regarding the lifecycle of user consent and tokens in "Sign in with Apple." Specifically, I would like to understand the behavior of the auth/revoke API in relation to App Store Connect status changes. Impact of App Status Changes If an app is "Removed from Sale" or "Deleted" from App Store Connect, does Apple automatically revoke all associated user tokens and consent? Or is it still the developer's responsibility to programmatically revoke each user's token via the REST API to ensure the app is removed from the user’s "Apps Using Apple ID" list? API Availability after Removal Once an app is no longer available on the App Store (or its record is deleted in App Store Connect), is the auth/revoke REST API still accessible? I want to ensure that a developer can still perform necessary privacy clean-up tasks (revoking consent) even if the app is not currently distributed. Specific User Impacts of Non-Revocation If we do not call the revocation API, besides the app remaining in the "Sign in with Apple" list, what are the specific consequences for the user? How to request permission for System Audio Recording Only?
Hi community, I'm wondering how can I request the permission of "System Audio Recording Only" under the Privacy & Security -> Screen & System Audio Recording via swift? Did a bunch of search but didn't find good documentation on it. Sign In by Apple on Firebase - 503 Service Temporarily Unavailable
Hello everyone, I'm encountering a persistent 503 Server Temporarily Not Available error when trying to implement "Sign in with Apple" for my web application. I've already performed a full review of my configuration and I'm confident it's set up correctly, which makes this server-side error particularly confusing. Problem Description: Our web application uses Firebase Authentication to handle the "Sign in with Apple" flow. When a user clicks the sign-in button, they are correctly redirected to the appleid.apple.com authorization page. However, instead of seeing the login prompt, the page immediately displays a 503 Server Temporarily Not Available error. This is the redirect URL being generated (with the state parameter truncated for security): https://appleid.apple.com/auth/authorize?response_type=code&client_id=XXXXXX&redirect_uri=https%3A%2F%2FXXXXXX.firebaseapp.com%2F__%2Fauth%2Fhandler&state=AMbdmDk...&scope=email%20name&response_mode=form_post Troubleshooting Steps Performed: Initially, I was receiving an invalid_client error, which prompted me to meticulously verify every part of my setup. I have confirmed the following: App ID Configuration: The "Sign in with Apple" capability is enabled for our primary App ID. Services ID Configuration: We have a Services ID configured specifically for this. The "Sign in with Apple" feature is enabled on this Services ID. The domain is registered and verified under "Domains and Subdomains". Firebase Settings Match Apple Settings: The Services ID from Apple is used as the Client ID in our Firebase configuration. The Team ID is correct. We have generated a private key, and both the Key ID and the .p8 file have been correctly uploaded to Firebase. The key is not revoked in the Apple Developer portal. Since the redirect to Apple is happening with the correct client_id and redirect_uri, and the error is a 5xx server error (not a 4xx client error like invalid_client), I believe our configuration is correct and the issue might be on Apple's end. This has been happening consistently for some time. My Questions: What could be causing a persistent 503 Server Temporarily Not Available error on the /auth/authorize endpoint when all client-side configurations appear to be correct? What is the formal process for opening a technical support ticket (TSI) directly with Apple Developer Support for an issue like this? Thank you for any insights or help you can provide.

requestTrackingAuthorization stuck in .notDetermined
When developing and testing using my phone I got prompted for allowing app tracking. I later uploaded a build to TestFlight, deleted the old testing app and installed the TestFlight build. I am now stuck in an infinite loop of not getting prompted for allowing app tracking for the app. When entering the app settings the toggle for tracking never appears which leaves me not able to enter the app's content. My guess is that the prompt can only be shown once for the app bundle, but there has to be a way for me to get prompted again without changing the app bundle id. Help is appreciated since this app is scheduled to be published in a week.

No way => HTTP (400): {"error":"invalid_client"}
Hi everyone, I have followed all the Apple procedures, read the forums, and looked at various experiences of other users who had my problem, but I haven’t found a solution. On my site, I have added login with all the “big” providers, and Apple is the only one missing. I’ve tried everything, but when the user logs in and is authenticated, I get an error. In order, here’s what I receive: Received Apple code: cfbf091dd6... JWT generated correctly HTTP Error (400): {"error":"invalid_client"} I’ve read all sorts of things, including that you have to wait up to 48 hours for the Key to be enabled. Any ideas? I’ve read that this is a common problem, but I haven’t found a valid solution. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me.

Issues with Password based Platform SSO
We are using Apple's PSSO to federate device login to out own IdP. We have developed our own extension app and deployed it using MDM. Things works fine but there are 2 issues that we are trying to get to the root cause - On some devices after restarting we see an error message on the logic screen saying "The registration for this device is invalid and must be repaired" And other error message is "SmartCard configuration is invalid for this account" For the 1st we have figured out that this happens when the registration doesn't happen fully and the key is not tied to the user so when the disk needs to be decrypted at the FileVault screen the issue is raised. For the "SmartCard configuration is invalid for this account" issue also one aspect is invalid registration but there has been other instances as well where the devices were registered completely but then also the the above error was raised. We verified the registration being completed by checking if the SmartCard is visible in the System Report containing the key. Has anyone seen the above issues and any possible resolution around it?

TN3159 – /auth/usermigrationinfo returns invalid_client for Team A immediately after app transfer (within 60-day window)
Hi everyone, We just completed an App Store Connect app transfer between two developer teams and ran into what seems like an inconsistency with TN3159 (Migrating Sign in with Apple users for an app transfer). According to the technote, both the source and destination teams should be able to call /auth/usermigrationinfo for 60 days after the transfer, even if the migration wasn’t run beforehand. However, right after the transfer completed, the source team (Team A) started receiving: {"error":"invalid_client"} on all /auth/usermigrationinfo requests, even though /auth/token with scope=user.migration still works fine. What we verified before transfer: Team A’s Sign in with Apple key (ES256) was linked to the app and Services ID. OAuth flow for com.org.appname.web returned valid tokens, and the decoded ID token showed aud=com.org.appname.web with a valid private relay email, confirming the key was trusted. What happens after transfer: The key now shows “Enabled Services: —” and the App/Services IDs are no longer selectable in the Developer portal. /auth/usermigrationinfo immediately returns invalid_client for Team A, even within the same day of the transfer. This effectively makes Team A unable to generate transfer_sub values, blocking the migration flow TN3159 describes. Questions: Is Team A supposed to retain authorization to call /auth/usermigrationinfo for 60 days post-transfer? If yes, is there any known workaround to re-authorize the key or temporarily re-bind it to the transferred identifiers? If not, does this mean transfer_sub must be generated before transfer acceptance, contrary to how TN3159 reads? Would really appreciate any confirmation or guidance from Apple or anyone who’s gone through this recently. Thanks,

api and data collection app stroe connect
I added a feature to my app that retrieves only app settings (no personal data) from my API hosted on Cloudflare Workers. The app does not send, collect, track, or share any user data, and I do not store or process any personal information. Technical details such as IP address, user agent, and device information may be automatically transmitted as part of the internet protocol when the request is made, but my app does not log or use them. Cloudflare may collect this information. Question: Does this count as “data collection” for App Store Connect purposes, or can I select “No Data Collected”?

Delete my appstore connect account
I no longer have an app on the store. I do have an apple books account on the same login but there's no need for me to have the appstore connect account or whatever you call it and keep getting notifications when I don't have an app, don't want an app, will never do another app.

Sign in with Apple ends unexpectedly with code 1001
We're integrating Sign in with Apple into our iOS app The Apple ID login UI appears correctly on real devices, but after tapping Continue, the system immediately stops and shows code 1001. This issue happens across multiple devices and Apple ID accounts, even with no prior login history. We’ve confirmed the following Sign in with Apple is enabled in both Developer Portal and Xcode Capabilities Automatic signing and provisioning are set correctly Device is signed into iCloud and system time is synced Performed clean build, app reinstall, and other standard debugging steps We suspect that the sign in handshake process may not be completing properly due to some kind of account or server-side restriction, and we’d appreciate any insights into this behavior.

Sign In with Apple Integration Issue - "Sign-Up not completed" Error
I'm experiencing an issue with Sign In with Apple integration in my React Native Expo app (Bundle ID: com.anonymous.TuZjemyApp). Problem Description: When users attempt to sign in using Sign In with Apple, they successfully complete Face ID/password authentication, but then receive a "Sign-Up not completed" error message. The authentication flow appears to stop at this point and doesn't return the identity token to my app. Technical Details: Frontend Implementation: Using expo-apple-authentication. Requesting scopes: FULL_NAME and EMAIL App is properly configured in app.json with: usesAppleSignIn: true Entitlement: com.apple.developer.applesignin Backend Implementation: Endpoint: POST /api/auth/apple Using apple-signin-auth package for token verification Verifying tokens with audience: com.anonymous.TuZjemyApp Backend creates/updates user accounts based on Apple ID Question: I'm not sure why the authentication flow stops with "Sign-Up not completed" after successful Face ID verification. The identity token never reaches my app. Could you please help me understand: What might cause this specific error message? Are there any additional Apple Developer Portal configurations required? Could this be related to app capabilities or entitlements? Is there a specific setup needed for the app to properly receive identity tokens? I set up provisioning profiles, and added Sign in with Apple as a capability and still it doesn't work.

Apple Sign-In: "invalid-credential" error despite correct configuration - Firebase Auth iOS
Problem Summary I'm experiencing a persistent invalid-credential error with Apple Sign-In on iOS despite having verified every aspect of the configuration over the past 6 months. The error occurs at the Firebase Authentication level after successfully receiving credentials from Apple. Error Message: Firebase auth error: invalid-credential - Invalid OAuth response from apple.com. Environment Platform: iOS (Flutter app) Firebase Auth: v5.7.0 Sign in with Apple: v6.1.2 Xcode: Latest version with capability enabled iOS Target: 13.0+ Bundle ID: com.harmonics.orakl What Actually Happens ✅ Apple Sign-In popup appears ✅ User can authenticate with Apple ID ✅ Apple returns credentials with identityToken ❌ Firebase rejects with invalid-credential error The error occurs at Firebase level, not Apple level. What I've Tried Created a brand new Apple Key (previous key was 6 months old) Tested with both App ID and Service ID in Firebase Completely reinstalled CocoaPods dependencies Verified nonce handling is correct (hashed to Apple, raw to Firebase) Activated Firebase Hosting and attempted to deploy .well-known file Checked Cloud Logging (no detailed error messages found) Disabled and re-enabled Apple Sign-In provider in Firebase Verified Return URL matches exactly Waited and retried multiple times over 6 months Questions Is the .well-known/apple-developer-domain-association.txt file required? If yes, how should it be generated? Firebase Hosting doesn't auto-generate it. Could there be a server-side caching/blacklist issue with my domain or Service ID after multiple failed attempts? Should the Apple Key be linked to the Service ID instead of the App ID? The key shows as linked to Z3NNDZVWMZ.com.harmonics.orakl (the App ID). Is there any way to get more detailed error logs from Firebase about why it's rejecting the Apple OAuth response? Could using a custom domain instead of .firebaseapp.com resolve the issue? Is there a way to hide the 'Save to another device' option during iOS WebAuthn registration?
Hello, I am currently implementing a biometric authentication registration flow using WebAuthn. I am using ASAuthorizationPlatformPublicKeyCredentialRegistrationRequest, and I would like to know if there is a way to hide the "Save to another device" option that appears during the registration process. Specifically, I want to guide users to save the passkey only locally on their device, without prompting them to save it to iCloud Keychain or another device. If there is a way to hide this option or if there is a recommended approach to achieve this, I would greatly appreciate your guidance. Also, if this is not possible due to iOS version or API limitations, I would be grateful if you could share any best practices for limiting user options in this scenario. Issue to reset "Privacy & Security" permissions
Hello, I am working on a script to update an application which bundle ID changed. Only the bundle ID was modified; all other aspects remain unchanged. This application requires access to "Screen & System Audio Recording" permissions, which are currently granted to the old bundle ID. The script performs the following steps: launchctl bootout gui/$(id -u) /Library/LaunchAgents/com.my_agent_1.plist pkgutil --forget com.my_agent_1 tccutil reset All com.my_agent_1 rm /Library/LaunchAgents/com.my_agent_1.plist rm -rf </path/to/com_my_agent_1> installer -dumplog -allowUntrusted -pkg </path/to/com_my_agent_2.pkg> -target / ... When running steps #1-6 without a restart between steps #5 and #6, the old bundle ID (com.my_agent_1) remains visible in TCC.db (verified via SQL queries). Looks like this is the reason why "com.my_agent_2" is not automatically added to the permission list (requiring manual add). Moreover, "tccutil reset All com.my_agent_1" does not work anymore, the error: tccutil: No such bundle identifier "com.my_agent_1": The operation couldn’t be completed. (OSStatus error -10814.) Is there any way to completely clear the "Privacy & Security" permissions without requiring a system restart? Thank you a lot for your help in advance!

App Attest attestationData request fails with 400 Bad Request (no X-Request-ID)

How to request permission for System Audio Recording Only?

Hello everyone, I'm encountering a persistent 503 Server Temporarily Not Available error when trying to implement "Sign in with Apple" for my web application. I've already performed a full review of my configuration and I'm confident it's set up correctly, which makes this server-side error particularly confusing. Problem Description: Our web application uses Firebase Authentication to handle the "Sign in with Apple" flow. When a user clicks the sign-in button, they are correctly redirected to the appleid.apple.com authorization page. However, instead of seeing the login prompt, the page immediately displays a 503 Server Temporarily Not Available error. Services ID Configuration: We have a Services ID configured specifically for this. The "Sign in with Apple" feature is enabled on this Services ID. The domain is registered and verified under "Domains and Subdomains". Firebase Settings Match Apple Settings: The Services ID from Apple is used as the Client ID in our Firebase configuration. The Team ID is correct. We have generated a private key, and both the Key ID and the .p8 file have been correctly uploaded to Firebase. The key is not revoked in the Apple Developer portal. Since the redirect to Apple is happening with the correct client_id and redirect_uri, and the error is a 5xx server error (not a 4xx client error like invalid_client), I believe our configuration is correct and the issue might be on Apple's end. This has been happening consistently for some time. My Questions: What could be causing a persistent 503 Server Temporarily Not Available error on the /auth/authorize endpoint when all client-side configurations appear to be correct? requestTrackingAuthorization stuck in .notDetermined
When developing and testing using my phone I got prompted for allowing app tracking. I later uploaded a build to TestFlight, deleted the old testing app and installed the TestFlight build. I am now stuck in an infinite loop of not getting prompted for allowing app tracking for the app. When entering the app settings the toggle for tracking never appears which leaves me not able to enter the app's content. My guess is that the prompt can only be shown once for the app bundle, but there has to be a way for me to get prompted again without changing the app bundle id. Help is appreciated since this app is scheduled to be published in a week.

No way => HTTP (400): {"error":"invalid_client"}
Hi everyone, I have followed all the Apple procedures, read the forums, and looked at various experiences of other users who had my problem, but I haven’t found a solution. On my site, I have added login with all the “big” providers, and Apple is the only one missing. I’ve tried everything, but when the user logs in and is authenticated, I get an error. In order, here’s what I receive: Received Apple code: cfbf091dd6... JWT generated correctly HTTP Error (400): {"error":"invalid_client"} I’ve read all sorts of things, including that you have to wait up to 48 hours for the Key to be enabled. Any ideas? I’ve read that this is a common problem, but I haven’t found a valid solution. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me.

Issues with Password based Platform SSO
We are using Apple's PSSO to federate device login to out own IdP. We have developed our own extension app and deployed it using MDM. Things works fine but there are 2 issues that we are trying to get to the root cause - On some devices after restarting we see an error message on the logic screen saying "The registration for this device is invalid and must be repaired" And other error message is "SmartCard configuration is invalid for this account" For the 1st we have figured out that this happens when the registration doesn't happen fully and the key is not tied to the user so when the disk needs to be decrypted at the FileVault screen the issue is raised. For the "SmartCard configuration is invalid for this account" issue also one aspect is invalid registration but there has been other instances as well where the devices were registered completely but then also the the above error was raised. We verified the registration being completed by checking if the SmartCard is visible in the System Report containing the key. Has anyone seen the above issues and any possible resolution around it?

TN3159 – /auth/usermigrationinfo returns invalid_client for Team A immediately after app transfer (within 60-day window)
Hi everyone, We just completed an App Store Connect app transfer between two developer teams and ran into what seems like an inconsistency with TN3159 (Migrating Sign in with Apple users for an app transfer). According to the technote, both the source and destination teams should be able to call /auth/usermigrationinfo for 60 days after the transfer, even if the migration wasn’t run beforehand. However, right after the transfer completed, the source team (Team A) started receiving: {"error":"invalid_client"} on all /auth/usermigrationinfo requests, even though /auth/token with scope=user.migration still works fine. What we verified before transfer: Team A’s Sign in with Apple key (ES256) was linked to the app and Services ID. OAuth flow for com.org.appname.web returned valid tokens, and the decoded ID token showed aud=com.org.appname.web with a valid private relay email, confirming the key was trusted. What happens after transfer: The key now shows “Enabled Services: —” and the App/Services IDs are no longer selectable in the Developer portal. /auth/usermigrationinfo immediately returns invalid_client for Team A, even within the same day of the transfer. This effectively makes Team A unable to generate transfer_sub values, blocking the migration flow TN3159 describes. Questions: Is Team A supposed to retain authorization to call /auth/usermigrationinfo for 60 days post-transfer? If yes, is there any known workaround to re-authorize the key or temporarily re-bind it to the transferred identifiers? If not, does this mean transfer_sub must be generated before transfer acceptance, contrary to how TN3159 reads? Would really appreciate any confirmation or guidance from Apple or anyone who’s gone through this recently. Thanks,

I added a feature to my app that retrieves only app settings (no personal data) from my API hosted on Cloudflare Workers. The app does not send, collect, track, or share any user data, and I do not store or process any personal information. Technical details such as IP address, user agent, and device information may be automatically transmitted as part of the internet protocol when the request is made, but my app does not log or use them. Cloudflare may collect this information. Question: Does this count as “data collection” for App Store Connect purposes, or can I select “No Data Collected”?

We're integrating Sign in with Apple into our iOS app The Apple ID login UI appears correctly on real devices, but after tapping Continue, the system immediately stops and shows code 1001. This issue happens across multiple devices and Apple ID accounts, even with no prior login history. We’ve confirmed the following Sign in with Apple is enabled in both Developer Portal and Xcode Capabilities Automatic signing and provisioning are set correctly Device is signed into iCloud and system time is synced Performed clean build, app reinstall, and other standard debugging steps We suspect that the sign in handshake process may not be completing properly due to some kind of account or server-side restriction, and we’d appreciate any insights into this behavior.

Is there a way to hide the 'Save to another device' option during iOS WebAuthn registration?

I am using ASAuthorizationPlatformPublicKeyCredentialRegistrationRequest, and I would like to know if there is a way to hide the "Save to another device" option that appears during the registration process. Specifically, I want to guide users to save the passkey only locally on their device, without prompting them to save it to iCloud Keychain or another device. Issue to reset "Privacy & Security" permissions
Hello, I am working on a script to update an application which bundle ID changed. Only the bundle ID was modified; all other aspects remain unchanged. This application requires access to "Screen & System Audio Recording" permissions, which are currently granted to the old bundle ID. The script performs the following steps: launchctl bootout gui/$(id -u) /Library/LaunchAgents/com.my_agent_1.plist pkgutil --forget com.my_agent_1 tccutil reset All com.my_agent_1 rm /Library/LaunchAgents/com.my_agent_1.plist rm -rf </path/to/com_my_agent_1> installer -dumplog -allowUntrusted -pkg </path/to/com_my_agent_2.pkg> -target / ... When running steps #1-6 without a restart between steps #5 and #6, the old bundle ID (com.my_agent_1) remains visible in TCC.db (verified via SQL queries). Looks like this is the reason why "com.my_agent_2" is not automatically added to the permission list (requiring manual add). Moreover, "tccutil reset All com.my_agent_1" does not work anymore, the error: tccutil: No such bundle identifier "com.my_agent_1": The operation couldn’t be completed. (OSStatus error -10814.) Is there any way to completely clear the "Privacy & Security" permissions without requiring a system restart? Thank you a lot for your help in advance!
