`xcresulttool merge` broken on Xcode 26.1+
Opened a FB already (FB20928652) but wanted to check here if anybody has seen similar or has better workarounds. xcresulttool merge appears to crash immediately after launch in Xcode 26.1 (and in 26.2b1). It does so regardless of any inputs passed in; the crash appears to be during argument parsing before any other logic is run, so it's not contingent on inputs. Working example from 26.0.1 (passing in arbitrary strings for a minimum-reproducible-case, so we expect to see an error message) : % /Applications/Xcode-26.0.1.app/Contents/Developer/usr/bin/xcresulttool merge --output-path a b c Error: File or directory doesn't exist at path: b. Usage: xcresulttool <subcommand> See 'xcresulttool --help' for more information. The same example crashes in 26.1: /Applications/Xcode-26.1.0.app/Contents/Developer/usr/bin/xcresulttool merge --output-path a b c zsh: trace trap /Applications/Xcode-26.1.0.app/Contents/Developer/usr/bin/xcresulttool merge Again, this does crash in real use cases as well, the arbitrary strings are just for quick reproduction. The stack trace appears to be during argument parsing (which from a quick look, did indeed change between 26.0.1 and 26.1). On 26.1+, garbage data seemingly gets passed to AbsolutePath.init. * thread #1, queue = 'com.apple.main-thread', stop reason = breakpoint 1.1 * frame #0: 0x00000001002c6748 xcresulttool-26.1`normalize(absolute:) frame #1: 0x00000001002c6438 xcresulttool-26.1`AbsolutePath.init(_:) + 28 frame #2: 0x000000010005a2c0 xcresulttool-26.1`Merge.run() + 372 frame #3: 0x000000010005b180 xcresulttool-26.1`protocol witness for ParsableCommand.run() in conformance Merge + 12 frame #4: 0x000000010011d3e4 xcresulttool-26.1`dispatch thunk of ReadableStream.close() + 16 frame #5: 0x000000010000148c xcresulttool-26.1`main + 156 frame #6: 0x00000001804d5d54 dyld`start + 7184 The only workaround we've found is to keep using 26.0.1's copy of xcresulttool, though that's obviously not ideal.

Certificates, Identifiers & Profiles not showing for team
Hello, we are struggling for hours with the following issue: I have an individual developer account and since yesterday I'm member of developer team with an own organization account. I have access to an app in the team account as an "App-Manager", also the option "Access to Certificates, Identifiers & Profiles" is activated and I can see that it is activated for my account in AppstoreConnect. In "Apple Developer" I can also see the team and can switch to. But then I do not see the "Certificates, Identifiers & Profiles" menu entry. Also the team is not showing up in XCode. What am I missing? Thanks and regards Philipp

Xcode Devices "Download Container" no longer works on latest Xcode 26.0 (24228) (Build 17A324)
After updating my Xcode to the latest, I am unable to download an installed app container from the Xcode Devices screen. Orphaned 9GB Simulator Runtime in /System/Library/AssetsV2 - Cannot Delete (SIP protected)
I have an orphaned asset folder taking up 9.13GB located at: /System/Library/AssetsV2/com_apple_MobileAsset_iOSSimulatorRuntime/c0d3fd05106683ba0b3680d4d1afec65f098d700.asset It contains SimulatorRuntimeAsset version 18.5 (Build 22F77). Active Version: My current Xcode setup is using version 26.2 (Build 23C54). I checked the plist files in the directory and found what seems to be the cause of the issue: The "Never Collected" Flag: The Info.plist inside the orphaned asset folder explicitly sets the garbage collection behavior to "NeverCollected": <key>__AssetDefaultGarbageCollectionBehavior</key> <string>NeverCollected</string> The Catalog Mismatch: The master catalog file (com_apple_MobileAsset_iOSSimulatorRuntime.xml) in the parent directory only lists the new version (26.2). Because the old version (18.5) is missing from this XML, Xcode and mobileassetd seem to have lost track of it entirely. What I Have Tried (All Failed) Xcode Components: The version 18.5 does not appear in Settings -> Components, so I cannot delete it via the GUI. Simctl: xcrun simctl list runtimes does not list this version. Running xcrun simctl runtime delete 22F77 fails with: "No runtime disk images or bundles found matching '22F77'." Manual Deletion: sudo rm -rf [path] fails with "Operation not permitted", presumably because /System/Library/AssetsV2 is SIP-protected. Third-party Tools: Apps like DevCleaner do not detect this runtime (likely because they only scan ~/Library or /Library, not /System/Library). Has anyone found a way to force the system (perhaps via mobileassetd or a specific xcrun flag) to re-evaluate this folder and respect a deletion request? I am trying to avoid booting into Recovery Mode just to delete a cache file. Any insights on how AssetsV2 handles these "orphaned" files would be appreciated.

NSLocationTemporaryUsageDescriptionDictionary crashes Xcode 13
I just submitted a feedback for this (FB9662125) but in the spirit of “share and enjoy”… The cool new Generate Info.plist File feature in Xcode 13 crashes if you try to put an NSLocationTemporaryUsageDescriptionDictionary in your Info.plist file. Here’s a simple repro scenario: Create a minimal iOS app (no Core Data, no tests) Go to target settings → Info tab → Custom iOS Target Properties Click the (+) button on any row to begin inserting a new row Select Privacy - Location Temporary Usage Description Dictionary Click somewhere else or press Return to commit the selection Xcode crashes immediately More generally, it seems that Xcode crashes any time it tries to regenerate your Info.plist file if it contains an NSLocationTemporaryUsageDescriptionDictionary, even if (for example) you manually pasted that dictionary into the file earlier. In that case, merely tapping the (+) button in step 3 above is enough to crash it.

Unable to download iOS simulator runtime 26.x on Xcode
Hi everyone, I'm experiencing a persistent issue for months now where I'm unable to download the iOS 26 simulator Runtime. I've tried reinstalling Xcode and also Xcode Beta but same issue. iOS 26 Simulator is also not on developers download page, so manual installation is impossible. And sadly I can't compile any code without having iOS 26 simulator installed. Anyone able to get passed this? Hardware: M1 Pro OS: Tahoe 26.1 Heres the error Download failed. Hi, I developed an app and trying to publish but at the validation state i'm getting two errors. The errors as follows: (1) App record creation failed due to an invalid input. Request failed with the error code "STATE_ERROR.APP_CREATE.PLATFORM_NOT_ALLOWED_DUE_TO_CONTRACT_STATE", and reason "One or more platforms cannot be created for this app due to your provider's contract state. Creation of apps for the platform(s) iOS is not available due to your provider's contract state." (2) App record creation failed due to an invalid attribute. Request failed with error code "ENTITY_ERROR.ATTRIBUTE.REQUIRED", and reason "The provided entity is missing a required attribute You must provide a value for the attribute 'companyName' with this request" Which inputs and attributes are causing these errors? Thanks in advance.

Unable to download iOS 26.1 Simulator Runtime - Build 23B80 not available
I am unable to download the iOS 26.1 Simulator Runtime through Xcode 26.1 on macOS 26.1 (Build 25B78). Issue Details: When attempting to download via Xcode Settings → Platforms, the download fails with error code 41 (DVTDownloadableErrorDomain) and error code 60 (MADownloadCannotConnectToHost) The error message states: "Failed fetching catalog for assetType (com.apple.MobileAsset.iOSSimulatorRuntime), serverParameters ({RequestedBuild = 23B80;})" I receive HTTP 403 Forbidden when accessing mesu.apple.com/assets/ Steps Attempted: Downloaded via Xcode Settings → Component → iOS 26.1 Simulator Tried command line: xcodebuild -downloadPlatform iOS Searched https://developer.apple.com/download/all/ - iOS 26.1 Simulator Runtime not listed Tested with different networks (home WiFi, VPN, mobile hotspot) Disabled proxy settings Flushed DNS cache All attempts result in the same error. Important Notes: Xcode 26.1 shows iOS Simulator SDK 26.1 (Build 23B77) is available However, Xcode attempts to download Build 23B80, which appears unavailable I experienced a similar issue previously with Xcode 16.4 requesting iOS 18.4 Simulator Runtime, which was also unavailable for download Impact: Without the iOS 26.1 Simulator Runtime, I cannot develop or test iOS applications. macOS 26.1 requires Xcode 26.1, which in turn requires iOS 26.1 runtime, leaving me unable to perform any iOS development work. Questions: Is iOS 26.1 Simulator Runtime (Build 23B80) officially released? Is there a direct download link available? Should Xcode 26.1 be requesting Build 23B77 instead of 23B80? Is there any account restriction preventing me from downloading newer simulator runtimes? System Information: macOS: 26.1 (Build 25B78) Xcode: 26.1 (Build 17B55) Error description: Download failed. iOS Simulator in Xcode 26.1 makes ReportCrash process run at 60-160% of CPU
My MBP M1 Pro gets really hot. iOS 26.1 Simulator in Xcode 26.1 makes ReportCrash process run at 60-160% of CPU shows Activity Monitor. MacOS 26.1. I've reported this via Feedback Assistant: FB20918609. Is there a way to quit this process permanently? When I Force Quit this it opens again immediately. Only way to stop it is to quit Simulator. But then again, I need to use the Simulator.

Best Practices: Dependency management for local packages
I have a project which contains local packages. One of the packages has an explicit dependency on package A, but the main project also has the same dependency. Both of them are pinned to the exact version at all times. Should I manage "shared" dependencies at the project level for local packages? This seems counter intuitive at first, but this question is originating from me fighting with a "Build service could not create build operation: unable to load transferred PIF: The workspace contains multiple references with the same GUID" error in Xcode 16 (all versions). It happens when I switch branches. Closing and reopening Xcode does resolve the issue, but it's a real flow killer. The guide below doesn't mention dependency graph best practice. https://developer.apple.com/documentation/xcode/organizing-your-code-with-local-packages Thank in advance.

Xcode Source Control pull/push hangs indefinitely, terminal Git works normally After Tahoe 26.3 (25D125) Update
Device Details: MBP M2 Pro AND MBP M3 Pro macOS 26.3 (25D125) Xcode Version 26.3, 26.2, 26.1 (I reinstalled all 3 of these after the macOS update) BUG: Xcode hangs indefinitely when performing Source Control operations (Pull or Push) on a Git repository that uses SSH authentication. The same repository works correctly when performing the equivalent Git operations from the Terminal using the Git CLI. The issue appears to be specific to Xcode’s internal Source Control integration. When the operation is triggered from Xcode, the UI shows a spinning progress indicator and never completes. Terminal Git commands (git fetch, git pull, git push) complete normally using the same SSH key and repository. A hang sample taken during the issue shows the Xcode main thread blocked in Source Control authentication and fingerprint handling code paths, including: IDESourceControlUIHandler IDESourceControlFingerprintManager handleAuthenticationFailure showFingerprintAlertOnWindow This suggests Xcode may be waiting on a Source Control authentication or host fingerprint UI flow that never resolves. SSH connectivity itself is functioning correctly: ssh -T git@bitbucket.org and ssh -T git@github.com both authenticate successfully. git ls-remote, git fetch, git pull, and git push all work correctly from Terminal. No Source Control accounts are configured in Xcode Preferences. Authentication relies entirely on SSH keys. Steps to Reproduce Configure an SSH key for Git access (e.g., Bitbucket or GitHub) and confirm it works via Terminal. Clone or open an existing Git repository that uses SSH (git@host:repo.git). Open the project/workspace in Xcode. In Xcode, attempt a Source Control operation such as: Source Control → Pull Source Control → Push Observe that Xcode displays a spinning progress indicator and does not complete the operation. iOS 26.2 Simulator is not available for download
I'm trying to download the iOS 26.2 simulator, but it fails both in Xcode and via the command line. When I run: xcodebuild -downloadPlatform iOS -buildVersion 26.2 -exportPath ~/Downloads It returns: iOS 26.2 is not available for download. I would like to know: Why iOS 26.2 simulator cannot be downloaded at the moment. Whether iOS 26.2 simulator is still available, or if it has been removed or replaced. How to properly get and install the iOS 26.2 simulator. Any official explanation or solution would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Xcode 16.3 Doesn't Remember Preview Pane Width
It seems like, by default, the preview pane tries to align to 50% of the editor pane's width. I prefer to shrink the preview pane to around ~30% of the screen so I have more space for code. This used to work fine—at least until I restarted Xcode. I never understood why the setting wouldn’t persist across sessions, but fine, that was a tradeoff I was willing to live with. However, with Xcode 16.3, it seems like Xcode forgets the manually adjusted preview pane width as soon as I switch to a different file. This has definitely impacted my productivity, as I now find myself readjusting the pane size dozens of times in a single session. Am I holding it wrong? Is anyone else experiencing this? And while we’re at it—why not make this a persistent setting so everyone can tweak the width to their liking?

iOS 26.3.0 TextToSpeech EXC_BAD_ACCESS
Hello Apple Developer Community, I'm seeing a persistent crash in my iOS app reported via Firebase Crashlytics. The issue only started appearing on devices running iOS 26.3.0 and above (the crash does not occur on lower iOS versions, and it's unrelated to my app's version number). Key points: My app does NOT use any Text-to-Speech (TTS) features whatsoever. No AVSpeechSynthesizer, no Speech framework, no related APIs called from our code. My app is primarily written in Objective-C (with some Swift components possibly via dependencies). The crash stack is entirely within Apple's private TextToSpeech framework, specifically in ausdk::BufferAllocator::instance(). I suspect it might be indirectly triggered by a third-party ad SDK (e.g., Google Mobile Ads, AppLovin, etc.) that could be loading or interacting with accessibility features in the background — but this is just a hypothesis, as I have no direct evidence yet. Here is one representative crash log: Crashed: com.apple.root.user-initiated-qos.cooperative 0 TextToSpeech 0x6bb00 ausdk::BufferAllocator::instance() + 99800 1 TextToSpeech 0xf8c60 ausdk::BufferAllocator::instance() + 677688 2 TextToSpeech 0xf8c60 ausdk::BufferAllocator::instance() + 677688 3 TextToSpeech 0x1a0b9c ausdk::BufferAllocator::instance() + 1365620 4 libswift_Concurrency.dylib 0x628b4 swift::runJobInEstablishedExecutorContext(swift::Job*) + 288 5 libswift_Concurrency.dylib 0x63d28 swift_job_runImpl(swift::Job*, swift::SerialExecutorRef) + 156 6 libdispatch.dylib 0x13f48 _dispatch_root_queue_drain + 364 7 libdispatch.dylib 0x146fc _dispatch_worker_thread2 + 180 8 libsystem_pthread.dylib 0x137c _pthread_wqthread + 232 9 libsystem_pthread.dylib 0x8c0 start_wqthread + 8 The crash occurs on a background cooperative queue (Swift Concurrency). Questions: Has anyone else seen crashes inside ausdk::BufferAllocator::instance() in TextToSpeech on iOS 26.3.0+ even without using TTS in their app? Could a third-party ad SDK be causing the TextToSpeech framework to load unexpectedly (e.g., via accessibility preloading)? Is this a known bug in iOS 26's Spoken Content / Speak Selection features? Any workarounds or fixes from Apple? Any insights, similar reports (especially from Objective-C based apps), or advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Unable to Download iOS Simulator Runtime 26.1 on Xcode — Bad URL Error (Code 49)
Hi everyone, I’m experiencing a persistent issue when trying to download the iOS Simulator Runtime 26.1 on Xcode (version 26.1). The download always fails with the following error Download failed due to a bad URL. (Catalog download for com.apple.MobileAsset.iOSSimulatorRuntime) Domain: com.apple.MobileAssetError.Download Code: 49 I’m located in Brazil, so I initially thought it might be region-related, but I’ve already tried several attempts to fix it, including: Using VPNs for the US and Europe Installing the Xcode 26.2 beta Downgrading Xcode to earlier versions Reinstalling the same version of Xcode Restarting Xcode and my Mac Switching networks Clearing simulator support/device files Unfortunately, nothing has resolved the issue. Is anyone else facing this problem? Does anyone know a workaround or a manual way to download/install the iOS 26.1 simulator runtime? Thanks in advance!

Thanks!
