AppIntents don't show up in Shortcuts app when in SPM package
Hi there, I successfully created an AppIntent for our app, and when I had it in the same target as our main app it showed up fine in the shortcuts app. Then I realized that many of the new System Control widgets introduced in iOS 18 (e.g. lockscreen, control center) live in the widget extension target, but they also need to reference that same AppIntent. So to fix this, I thought I'd migrate out the code into it's own SPM package that both the WidgetExtension and the Main App processes can reference. However, after doing that and rebuilding, the intent no longer shows up in the Shortcuts app. Furthermore, my AppShortcutsProvider class now has this error when trying to define the list of appShortcuts: App Intent <name> should be in the same target as AppShortcutsProvider Is this intended, and if so, how do we reference the same AppIntent across multiple targets?

SPM Failed to verified fingerprint for SSH url since Tahoe 26.3
Hi there, I recently updated to the latest version of macOS Tahoe 26.3. Since then, Xcode is not able to resolve my Swift Package dependencies anymore. We use SSH for all our Github hosted packages. When package resolution is running, we randomly have Failed to verify SSH fingerprint on some remote package. Nothing has changed and it worked perfectly with Tahoe 26.2. The SSH have been reconfigured and known hosts have been verified. Is something changed between those 2 versions or is it a bug ?

XCode reverts CoreData's .xccurrentversion
I am experiencing an issue where XCode reverts .xccurrentversion file in my iOS app to the first version whenever xcodebuild is run or whenever XCode is started. Augmented Reality app unable to load the image from the camera
I have an app on the App Store for many years enabling users to post text into clouds in augmented reality. I hoped the new beta version would have solved the issue, but it was not the case. Xcode Simulator Can't Boot
I am facing a recurring issue with Xcode iOS simulator. I want to preview a SwiftUI for iOS in Xcode, but the Simulator app fails to boot up. I receive the follow error in Xcode: Cannot Preview in this file. Simulator was shutdown during an update. Xcode 16 | xcodebuild fails when providing -destination 'platform=iOS Simulator, name=iPhone 16,arch=x86_64'
Hello. In the Xcode 15 we were using this command in the terminal to run our tests on the Rosetta Simulator: xcodebuild -workspace CoreLibraries.xcworkspace -scheme CoreLibraries -destination 'platform=iOS Simulator, name=iPhone 15,arch=x86_64' test` In the Xcode 16 the same command doesn't work anymore. It produces the error: xcodebuild: error: Unable to find a device matching the provided destination specifier: { platform:iOS Simulator, arch:x86_64, OS:latest, name:iPhone 16 } Unsupported device specifier option. The device “iPhone 16” does not support the following options: arch Please supply only supported device specifier options. Running test directly from the Xcode UI using iPhone 16 (Rosetta) still works fine. Does anyone know how to modify the xcodebuild command to make it work again?

XCUItest - Accessing page content when using deeply nested React Navigation navigators on iOS Using
Hello! I've been trying to automate tests using Appium/XCUITests in a React Native APP, but I'm finding many blockers. They are related to the amount of nested elements in the "DOM" in which the XCUItest can not go deeper to get all the elements we need. snapshotMaxDepth -> The XCUITest does not support more than 60 value, otherwise it returns the following error: Got response with status 404: {"value":{"error":"stale element reference","message":"The previously found element "Application 'xyz.xxx.xxx'" is not present in the current view anymore. Make sure the application UI has the expected state. But if I inform less than 60, the XCUITest is not able to get all the elements we need to automate: There are many threads about this, all of them the issue is in the XCUITest: https://github.com/appium/appium/issues/14825 https://discuss.appium.io/t/handling-staleelementreferenceexception/35095/11 https://github.com/appium/appium/issues/18085 https://discuss.appium.io/t/error-in-appium-desktop-refreshing-source-after-adding-snapshotmaxdepth-greater-than-62/34058 https://stackoverflow.com/questions/74235441/appium-cant-reach-elements-in-ios-source-tree-they-are-too-deep-works-fine-in Tested all possible solutions suggested in the threads, but I will have the issue.

LLDB error: type for self cannot be reconstructed: type for typename
All is fine in Xcode15, no LLDB errors whatsoever, but in Xcode16 I can't get any variable displayed in the console because of the following error: error: type for self cannot be reconstructed: type for typename "$......." was not found (cached) error: Couldn't realize Swift AST type of self. Hint: using `v` to directly inspect variables and fields may still work. I've checked the output of swift-healthcheck and there are several messages like this: SwiftASTContextForExpressions(module: "ROA", cu: "ROA+ViewLayer.swift")::LoadOneModule() -- Missing Swift module or Clang module found for "UIKit", "imported" via SwiftDWARFImporterDelegate. Hint: Register Swift modules with the linker using -add_ast_path. I added -add_ast_path to the OTHER_LDFLAGS in the faulty module's build settings but no luck. How can I debug my project in Xcode16?

Icon Composer: Any way to add icons to the app bundle for older macOS versions?
Several app developers are struggling with the inability to provide a separate app icons that looks nice on older macOS versions while at the same time provide Icon Composer icons that look great on macOS Tahoe 26. An ability to provide separate icons is super important to those who have app icons that follow the curvature of the default icon borders (as the corner rounding radius is different for Sequia and Tahoe). Take a look at this for example: https://github.com/ghostty-org/ghostty/issues/7564#issuecomment-3042061547 Question: Is there a definitive/recommended way to address this issue? How can a developer add a glass icon variant that looks good on Tahoe and provide a bitmap icon for older macOS versions? Some background info: Prior to Xcode 26 beta 4, one could add an App Icon to Assets to be used as app icon for legacy macOS versions (Sequia and older) and use a new Icon Composer icon (placed in the project root) for macOS Tahoe 26. Enabling "Include all app icon assets" under target settings ensured that older macOS versions would use the old app icons while Tahoe the new Icon Composer glass one. Since Xcode beta 4 this technique no longer works. Xcode instead insists on populating Assets.car with Icon Composer generated variants, disregarding the App Icon provided in Assets. Although the App Icon in Assets makes its way to a .incs file in the app bundle's Contents/Resources folder, but that is not used by macOS anymore and is there for some compatibility purposes. The Assets.car file (which matters) only contains the variants generated by Icon Composer and does not contain the png icons provided in the Assets.

Xcode now hangs; SDKs are "status unavailable"
My development work is paused as Xcode is now non-functional on my Macs. Loading any project into Xcode soon leads to a hang and Force Quit. The SDKs are listed as "status unavailable". No Simulators are available. I've tried previous versions of Xcode; removing everything and re-installing; installation from the Store and direct from the Apple Developer site. I've created a Feedback issue. This happens on both of my Mac minis. I'm running Tahoe 26.4 (25E246) on both.

Xcode debugger doesn't pause on breakpoints (simulator SDK < iOS 17)
Hello. I'm seeing an inconsistent behavior where breakpoints I set in my (Swift) iOS app behave normally when I'm debugging on a device or on a simulator running iOS 17.x, but when I try using simulators of iOS 16 or 15 the breakpoints get ignored completely. I also observe that the breakpoints remain solid blue and do NOT adopt the dotted blue outline, as experienced by other users. I've seen a few posts on here and on SO about the general issue of ignored breakpoints (with no conclusive answer AFAIK), but I haven't seen any where the behavior varies with the SDK being used. The behavior is repeatable and predictable (within the same app at least). I am not adding the breakpoints after building/running, and I'm sure the logic reaches the lines with the breakpoints (and again, whenever I switch to an iOS 17 simulator, execution does pause as expected with the exact same breakpoints). Things I've tried and looked into: Clean up project build folder Delete and re-install simulators (iOS 16.4 and 15.5) Deleted the entire derived data directory, as well as the CoreSimulator one. Confirm the build configuration is Debug, and the "Debug executable" option is checked. inspect various build flags mentioned in other posts: {Swift compiler - Code generation - Optimization level - Debug: -0none; Debug information format: DWARF (I also tried DWARF with dSYM with no impact)}. Most of my settings are on the plain vanilla/out of the box side, with only a couple of SPM dependencies, and I've been maintaining the same app for about 5 years and don't think I've come across this behavior before. Currently using Xcode 15.1. Deployment target is 14.0. Thank you.

Xcode 26 Beta 5 XIB Compiler outputs NIBs with dependency on class that isn't available pre-macOS 26
When Xcode 26 Beta 5 compiles my XIBs into NIBs, it spits out a dependency on a class that isn't available pre-macOS 26, named _TtCC6AppKit14NSScrollPocketP33_EC3F85FAB7755D56E669206D2B17725B12BackdropView. All XIBs have a deployment target of macOS 12, so in theory this should be avoided. Even if this is a new (internal) class to macOS 26, the dependency is a problem when the developer is asking to deploy to prior versions. Has anyone else run into this regression? What could possibly be causing the XIB compiler to inject this dependency? The resulting NIBs don't load on anything prior to macOS 26.

Unable to Verify Code Signature with Error 0xe8008018 Despite Troubleshooting Attempts
Hello everyone, I am encountering a persistent issue with Xcode where I’m unable to install my app on a testing device due to the following error message: Failed to verify code signature of /var/installd/Library/Caches/com.apple.mobile.installd.staging/temp.SznYNY/extracted/iForC.app : 0xe8008018 (The identity used to sign the executable is no longer valid.) Here’s what I have tried so far to resolve this issue: 1. Ensured that all my certificates and provisioning profiles are current and valid. 2. Removed all related certificates from my Keychain and reinstalled new ones. 3. Cleaned and rebuilt the project multiple times. 4. Unpaired the device and paired it again. 5. Reinstalled the latest version of Xcode. 6. Performed a complete restore of my Mac. Despite these troubleshooting steps, I am still facing the same issue. I would greatly appreciate any insights or experiences related to this error from anyone who has overcome similar challenges. Thank you in advance for your help!

Original error: Error kAXErrorIllegalArgument getting snapshot for element <AXUIElementRef 0x600003aaf750> {pid=95967} {uid=[ID:1 hash:0x0]}","traceback":"(\n\t0 CoreFoundation 0x00007fff20405604 __exceptionPreprocess + 242\n\t1 libobjc.A.dylib 0x00007fff201a4a45 objc_exception_throw + 48\n\t2 WebDriverAgentLib 0x000000010a3caa53 -[XCUIElement(FBUtilities) fb_takeSnapshot] + 723\n\t3 WebDriverAgentLib 0x000000010a3cad07 -[XCUIElement(FBUtilities) fb_snapshotWithAttributes:maxDepth:] + 183\n\t4 WebDriverAgentLib 0x000000010a37baea +[FBXPath writeXmlWithRootElement:indexPath:elementStore:includedAttributes:writer:] + 778\n\t5 WebDriverAgentLib 0x000000010a37b12c +[FBXPath xmlRep...

Need to know how to stop indentation
Xcode 16 unindents lines if I choose a code-completion and I cannot find a way to stop this - does anybody know how to stop it? Here's a link to a gif demonstrating this problem - it's incredibly frustrating. https://i.imgur.com/jaDpzpb.gif Thanks in advance

Xcode 26 Beta 4 Build Failures
We are trying to track down some build failures that started happening only in our Jenkins CI environment. error: Failed to decode version info for '/Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/usr/bin/actool': The data couldn’t be read because it is missing. If I run this locally or if I remote into the CI machine and run this from the terminal I cannot reproduce this behavior. Command line tools appear to be installed, xcode-select --install fails if I try to do it from the command line. We've tried to recreate the build agents for this jenkins environment exactly as they were for all previous betas and xcode versions, and still get this behavior.
