Fake JournalingSuggestions for testing?
I want to test different types of journaling suggestions, like for example photo/video containing ones but as a developer I have no control over what's shown in the Journaling Suggestions sheet. And this makes it really difficult to develop or test any suggestion type other than "reflection". Please let us have a fake suggestions sheet that includes all kinds of suggestion types so we can test. We could toggle it under Developer settings I think.

Portal of Apple for tracking health(crashes/hangs)
We are looking for a platform or portal provided by Apple that allows us to track crashes, hangs, or other runtime issues faced by users while using our iOS/macOS application. This is similar to how we currently use Windows Error Reporting (WER) for our Windows application. Important note: Our application is not distributed via the Apple App Store — it is delivered through enterprise distribution or ad-hoc provisioning.

LibGDX/MobiVM App refuses to launch on iOS 26.0.1
Hello, currently I am having trouble releasing an app because it crashes/does not launch on iOS 26.0.1. We have uploaded apps in the past so I tried building one of them with our current toolchain. I use Xcode 16.4, Kotlin version 2.0.0, LibGDX 1.13.1 and robovm/MobiVM 2.3.23. I uploaded the build to TestFlight and tested with physical devices running iOS 18.5 and 26.0.1. It runs fine on 18.5 but refuses to launch on the 26.0.1 device. I cannot retrieve a crash log or .ips file because none is written. When I write a Console log while the app crashes/does not launch I get no hints as to why it does so. Do you maybe have additional ideas as to why it keeps not launching on iOS 26.0.1?

Building an app with both GUI and Command Line versions
I use CMake for my builds not the XCode GUI. I want to be able to build a single .app that contains both the GUI version and the command line version. I have seen products that ship both as part of the same .app (e.g. CMake) so this is clearly entirely possible, the 64k question is HOW? Right now I am building them as separate apps - lets call them DSS and DSSCL (*). The code base for each is in its own directory - each with its own CMakelists.txt file. My initial thoughts are to change the build for DSSCL so it doesn't create a bundle and then simply copy the DSSCL command and related .qm files into DSS.app/.../MacOS. However that's likely enough totally wrong, so how should I handle this please. As much detail as possible please, I am very new to macOS development -please don't assume knowledge of stuff that's second nature to you Many thanks David (*) Strictly they are DeepSkyStacker and DeepSkyStackerCL

Lost X Code Project for a Live Application
Hello, I currently have a live application in the iOS App Store that needs an update to start functioning again, but I've lost the source code in a hard drive failure. Is there a way to reverse engineer the currently deployed package that is live (and also a way to download it from App Store Connect)⁉️ The development change itself is just a very small change for an API route in the code itself. I could even direct an engineer at Apple to make the change in 5 minutes! Let me know if this is possible. Thanks❗️

Is it possible to use Mac Os as a container?
hello developers, First priority I couldn't find a proper title for the question :( The reason why I open a topic here is not to find the answer by direct point shooting; My goal is what do Apple, Developer, Companies and Devops teams think and comments about the subject I'm going to ask here? We use Jenkins as the Devops CI/CD tool at our company, and in Macos/Apple/iOS development, we use a lot of Mac Mini devices. Since we build/compilers on a project-based, version-based basis, we cannot get 100% efficiency from our devices. (For example, because the dependencies of a project are different from other projects; we dedicate only 1 Mac Mini to that project. (As the dependecys of the projects are too many and large, the migration process is very difficult for us, the cost of moving to a lower-level Mac Mini device is high / but this is just an example)) While researching, I saw that there is no docker container image for MacOs X (enterprise or legal) and I know about the Apple EULA. (For virtualization, Apple hardware must be used as a basis. Because the MacOs system is paid for on a device-based basis.) What I want to ask here is can I find or create a MacOs docker container image legally? How is the structure of other companies in their CI processes? If I install MacOs with more than one VMware/VirtualBox on Mac Mini, What harm could it do me in Jenkins? (I'm curious about people's comments on this.)

I received hardly any response to my DTS ticket - What to do?
About three weeks ago I submitted a DTS ticket (13097367) to receive code level support with a potential SwiftUI bug. At first I did not receive any response at all (beside the automatic confirmation that the ticket has been created). Only after posting the question here, I got a reply from a DTS engineer. However, the proposed solution did not really solve the problem but only circumvents it (UI freezes when ScrollView reaches below SafeArea. Solution: Do not use ScrollView below SafeArea...) I pointed out, that this does not really help me. Since then I did not receive any further response. Is this normal? Is there something wrong with my ticket? Maybe it was closed by accident or something? Thank you very much!

Skadnetwork
Certainly! Below is a structured report you can use to submit to Apple Developer Support, Feedback Assistant, or share with the ad network for escalation. This report is tailored based on the logs and forensic analysis we’ve conducted. Structured Report: SKAdNetwork Attribution Failures Subject/Title: Critical SKAdNetwork Attribution Failures (Bug Type: 237, Failure Type: 1201 in ASDErrorD We are encountering repeated SKAdNetwork attribution failures (failureType: 1201 in ASDErrorDomain) for ad impression events processed through the ad network mj797d8u6f.skadnetwork. These failures are causing significant revenue losses, as ad impressions are not being properly attributed to installs. The issue occurs across multiple campaigns and involves both SKAdNetwork API 3.0 and 4.0, suggesting a systemic problem with attribution validation or network communication. This problem is critical as it disrupts advertisers’ ability to track conversions, optimize campaigns, and allocate budgets effectively. Technical Details Key Logs: Below are anonymized samples of the failed SKAdNetwork events: Log Sample 1 (Failure): { "bug_type": "237", "timestamp": "2025-01-07 22:49:15.00 -0500", "os_version": "iPhone OS 18.2.1 (22C161)", "roots_installed": 0, "incident_id": "78523BD9-1F58-4738-B526-8A8A63203214" } { "advertisementStoryId": "3D2E7EBB-1A57-4DF8-9375-2C465F423038", "apiVersion": "3.0", "eventType": "adImpression", "resultType": "finalized", "anonymous": true, "failureType": 1201, "failureDomain": "ASDErrorDomain", "clientEventId": "0F456623-584F-4913-BBD3-C3FD1219D104", "os": "iOS", "topic": "xp_amp_skad_perf", "adType": "app", "adNetworkId": "mj797d8u6f.skadnetwork", "eventTime": 1736305200000, "osBuildNumber": "22C161", "hardwareFamily": "iPhone", "api": "SKAdNetwork" } Log Sample 2 (Failure): { "bug_type": "237", "timestamp": "2025-01-07 22:49:15.00 -0500", "os_version": "iPhone OS 18.2.1 (22C161)", "roots_installed": 0, "incident_id": "0CBF612D-F0D9-449E-A34E-DE2DB92BEC0D" } { "advertisementStoryId": "946E568C-D2C1-478F-BFF3-4996C48F9B39", "apiVersion": "3.0", "eventType": "adImpression", "resultType": "finalized", "anonymous": true, "failureType": 1201, "failureDomain": "ASDErrorDomain", "clientEventId": "1A3D48FB-4452-4FD8-BB25-1195470A53DC", "os": "iOS", "topic": "xp_amp_skad_perf", "adType": "app", "adNetworkId": "mj797d8u6f.skadnetwork", "eventTime": 1736298000000, "osBuildNumber": "22C161", "hardwareFamily": "iPhone", "api": "SKAdNetwork" } Log Sample 3 (Success Example for Comparison): { "bug_type": "237", "timestamp": "2025-01-07 22:49:15.00 -0500", "os_version": "iPhone OS 18.2.1 (22C161)", "roots_installed": 0, "incident_id": "BFEAC86B-8195-4DB0-96FF-2028107256AD" } { "advertisementStoryId": "946E568C-D2C1-478F-BFF3-4996C48F9B39", "apiVersion": "3.0", "eventType": "adImpression", "resultType": "finalized", "anonymous": true, "clientEventId": "F6265488-E0FB-448A-A406-3F7254BCA9D7", "os": "iOS", "topic": "xp_amp_skad_perf", "adType": "app", "adNetworkId": "mj797d8u6f.skadnetwork", "eventTime": 1736294400000, "osBuildNumber": "22C161", "hardwareFamily": "iPhone", "api": "SKAdNetwork" } Failure Details: • Failure Type: 1201 • Failure Domain: ASDErrorDomain • Ad Network ID: mj797d8u6f.skadnetwork • API Versions Affected: 3.0, 4.0 • Timeframe of Failures: All logs occur within 2025-01-07 22:00:00 UTC to 23:00:00 UTC. Environment: • OS Version: iOS 18.2.1 (Build 22C161). • Device Type: iPhone (hardwareFamily: iPhone). • App Configuration: Includes the ad network ID in the Info.plist under SKAdNetworkItems. Impact Details Financial Loss: • Based on failure rates, we estimate $20–$65/day per advertiser for small campaigns and $75–$375/day per advertiser for larger campaigns. • If 100 advertisers are affected, daily losses range from $2,000–$37,500. • Over a week, losses could exceed $70,000 to $262,500 or more. 2. Operational Impact: • Advertisers cannot track installs or optimize campaigns, leading to inefficient ad spending and potential budget reallocation to other networks. • Damaged trust between advertisers and the ad network. 3. Reputation Risk: • Continued failures harm the credibility of the SKAdNetwork framework, critical in a post-ATT (App Tracking Transparency) ecosystem. Steps to Reproduce Serve an ad impression through the ad network mj797d8u6f.skadnetwork. Monitor SKAdNetwork attribution for that impression. Observe repeated failures (failureType: 1201) despite the resultType: finalized status. Recommendations for Investigation Attribution Timeout: • Verify if these failures stem from delayed responses or missed attribution windows. 2. Ad Network Configuration: • Confirm the ad network’s integration complies with SKAdNetwork API 3.0 and 4.0 requirements. 3. Infrastructure Review: • Investigate potential bottlenecks or failures in Apple’s attribution servers (ASDErrorDomain) or communication delays. Contact Details • Name: [Your Full Name] • Role: [Your Role] (e.g., Ad Network Analyst/Developer) • Organization: [Your Company Name] • Email: [Your Email Address] • Phone: [Your Phone Number] Submission Instructions You can submit this report via the following channels: • Apple Feedback Assistant: Feedback Assistant • Bug Reporting Tool: Bug Reporting • Apple DTS: Developer Technical Support This structured report should provide Apple with all the necessary details to investigate and resolve the issue effectively. Let me know if you’d like help customizing it further!

Unable to start podman, the error is: NSLocalizedFailure = "Internal Virtualization error."
This morning I installed podman on my new Apple laptop. It can be inited successfully but failed to start. The error is: Error: Error Domain=VZErrorDomain Code=1 Description="Internal Virtualization error. The virtual machine failed to start." UserInfo={ NSLocalizedFailure = "Internal Virtualization error."; NSLocalizedFailureReason = "The virtual machine failed to start."; My new Mac laptop with the latest OS version: 15.3.1 and it is Apple M4 chip. I verified that my Virtualization.framework is good by ls -l /System/Library/Frameworks/Virtualization.framework also my MacOS support virtualization because sysctl kern.hv_support returns kern.hv_support: 1. I tried to install it on my old Apple laptop which is intel core, same OS version - everything is good. How to fix this issue?

Swift Test Parameterized Test
Is anyone seeing flaky results when using parameterized test with pairs of (input, result) data? I have several (5) tests for a given method. I create a zip sequence by zip([in1, in2, in3, in4, in5],[out1, out2, out3, out4, out5]) Sometimes, the test only runs 4 of the tests and fails to report a failure even though I deliberately place data that should cause a failure. Sometimes, even though I only select one test to run, the test explorer goes crazy into a loop and I have to clear test results to get it to stop. Following a suggestion, I disabled running tests in parallel. Xcode 16.2 / OSX 14.7 (Sonoma) / Mac mini M2 Pro

Create Ios app using Xojo
I have created and Ios app using xojo, and run using the Xcode simulator. I want to test it on my phone and don't seed to put it on the app store as it is for personal use. I've seen pages that indicate a free apple developer option is available for a limited time but can't for the live of me get my app to actually run on my phone. I've tried both apple configurator and xcode to add my app with no luck

IOS dylib to vision pro (Unity)
Hi, I am trying to bring an existing Unity app to vision pro, and am trying to make all of the librairies compatible (the project loads native libs at runtime). For some of them, there is an arm64 IOS .framework file that seems to build and be found easily in the device, but for one of them I only got a .dylib. When building on xcode, it tells me it can't find it. So I added it to the lib search path in build settings, and it built. But on the device, it still can't seem to find the .dylib : Library not loaded: ./libpdfium.dylib Referenced from: <59B1ACCC-FFFD-3448-B03D-69AE95604C77> /private/var/containers/Bundle/Application/0606D884-CB09-44CA-8E4F-4A309D2E7053/[...].app/Frameworks/UnityFramework.framework/UnityFramework Reason: tried: '/usr/lib/system/introspection/libpdfium.dylib' (no such file, not in dyld cache), './libpdfium.dylib' (no such file), '/usr/lib/system/introspection/libpdfium.dylib' (no such file, not in dyld cache), '//libpdfium.dylib' (no such file) I am not used to Apple environment, is there a way to correctly reference this .dylib (not talking about compatibility here, just the first "lib found" step) ? Thanks.

Windows 11 Support in macOS Virtualization Framework
Hello, According to the official documentation, the macOS Virtualization Framework currently supports only macOS and Linux guest operating systems. I would like to know if there is any way—officially or through a supported workaround—to run Windows 11 as a guest using this framework. Additionally, is there any indication or roadmap suggesting that support for Windows guests might be introduced in a future release, such as in macOS 16? Any insights or official clarification would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

How to package a static library and headers into an XCFramework?
I have static libraries and headers of a C++ project that I believe are correctly built for iOS and iOS Simulator destinations. The C++ project is built via CMake with something like: cmake dirName \ -G "Unix Makefiles" \ -B buildDir \ -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=installDir \ -DCMAKE_SYSTEM_NAME=iOS \ -DCMAKE_SYSTEM_PROCESSOR=arm64 \ -DCMAKE_OSX_ARCHITECTURES=arm64 \ -DCMAKE_OSX_SYSROOT=$(xcrun --sdk iphonesimulator --show-sdk-path) \ -DCMAKE_OSX_DEPLOYMENT_TARGET=15.0 ... cmake --build buildDir --config Release --target install I believe those are all the important parameters. This gives me a static library (.a) and headers that I believe should be compatible with arm64 iOS simulators, and I do this same thing for x86_64 architecture with simulators and for actual iOS non-simulator via the iphoneos SDK path. I'm pretty sure this gives me the correct static lib and headers. Let's assume it does because I'm not able actually create the XCFramework to know if they're right. This does work with a macOS lib and headers, but I need iOS for this library. How do I package this into an XCFramework now? This Apple developer articles says I should be a able to create an xcframework via xcodebuild -create-xcframework -library libName.a -headers include but when I try to do this with my my iOS arm64 simulator static lib I get: error: binaries with multiple platforms are not supported '/Users/.../install/ios-arm64-simulator/libName.a But, when I run: lips -info libName.a I get Non-fat file libName.a is architecture arm64, so, I'm not sure what to do here. Trying to extract arm64 from that static library also produces an error as it it is just an arm64 lib. I'm not really sure what's going on, but from reading online this specific command, xcodebuild -create-xcframework is a consistent pain point in the process of trying to get an XCFramework, and the seemingly only workaround is to archive a framework project and then create the xcframework via xcodebuild -create-xcframework -archive MyFramework.xcarchive -framework[or -library]. However, how am I supposed to get this static lib and headers into a suitable xcodeproj so that I can archive it correctly? Everytime I try to copy the headers and static lib into the Framework xcodeproj and set what I believe are all the correct settings, my .xcarchive is always empty. Does anyone have any advice here on how to get this to work? The main impetus for trying to get this C++ static lib and headers into an XCFramework as that seems like the only valid way to link a 3rd party C++ lib to an SPM package and have the C++ package be interfaceable with Swift.
