Is It Possible to Restore Previous Browser State After openURL on iOS?
Hi Everyone, I’m currently working on a flow where a web page redirects to our app to perform certain actions, and then returns the user back to the browser. However, on iOS, the only way to go back to the browser is by using the openURL method. The issue is that this method can only open the browser app itself—it can’t control which tab or page is shown, so the user doesn’t return to the original tab they came from. The same limitation also applies to Android. Furthermore, iOS doesn’t allow an app to programmatically return to the previous app (in this case, the browser). While Android doesn’t have an official way either, in some cases, the OS automatically returns to the previous app when ours is closed. I’d like to ask: Is there any known method or workaround that allows returning from my app back to Safari (or the default browser) and restoring the previously active web page or tab? Or, is there any way to programmatically return to the previous app from within my app? Thanks in advance for your support!

File/folder Permissions Issues
Currently running 15.5 Beta 3 on a Mac Studio M4. I am unable to read/write to my Home folder from most of my applications. I receive an error basically saying I do not have access rights to the file/folder. If I go to the file directly and open it, it works. I have repaired disk permissions, checked the Sharing & Permissions settings via Get Info, and finally called Apple. Of course, since I am running the beta, the support was quite limited. I will add that I am also unable to open .dmgs that have been downloaded to my Downloads folder. I receive the "The disk image couldn’t be opened. The operation couldn’t be completed. Operation not permitted" error. If I copy the .dmg to another drive, I can open it from there.

Apple Developer Enrollment Delay — No Updates for 24 Days
I’m trying to register an Apple Developer Account for my company. I uploaded all the required documents, but my initial application was rejected, and I was asked to provide notarized translations of my documents. I translated them and submitted everything for review on April 1. After a week without a response, I contacted Apple Support. They replied that the documents had been received and were under review. However, as of today, April 24, my account is still under review. I’ve sent five follow-up emails to Support asking for a status update on my case, but I haven’t received any replies. Has anyone faced a similar situation and could suggest what I can do to get a status update and finally complete the registration? If anyone from Apple Support is reading this, my case number is 20000098634973 and my Enrollment ID is J34432JQFC. Thank you in advance for your help.

Displaying limited contacts list in UIKit
I have an app that was written in UIKit. It's too large, and it would be much too time consuming at this point to convert it to SwiftUI. I want to incorporate the new limited contacts into this app. The way it's currently written everything works fine except for showing the limited contacts in the contact picker. I have downloaded and gone though the Apple tutorial app but I'm having trouble thinking it through into UIKit. After a couple of hours I decided I need help. I understand I need to pull the contact IDs of the contacts that are in the limited contacts list. Not sure how to do that or how to get it to display in the picker. Any help would be greatly appreciated. func requestAccess(completionHandler: @escaping (_ accessGranted: Bool) -> Void) { switch CNContactStore.authorizationStatus(for: .contacts) { case .authorized: completionHandler(true) case .denied: showSettingsAlert(completionHandler) case .restricted, .notDetermined: CNContactStore().requestAccess(for: .contacts) { granted, error in if granted { completionHandler(true) } else { DispatchQueue.main.async { [weak self] in self?.showSettingsAlert(completionHandler) } } } // iOS 18 only case .limited: completionHandler(true) @unknown default: break } } // A text field that displays the name of the chosen contact @IBAction func contact_Fld_Tapped(_ sender: TextField_Designable) { sender.resignFirstResponder() // The contact ID that is saved to the Db getTheCurrentContactID() let theAlert = UIAlertController(title: K.Titles.chooseAContact, message: nil, preferredStyle: .actionSheet) // Create a new contact let addContact = UIAlertAction(title: K.Titles.newContact, style: .default) { [weak self] _ in self?.requestAccess { _ in let openContact = CNContact() let vc = CNContactViewController(forNewContact: openContact) vc.delegate = self // this delegate CNContactViewControllerDelegate DispatchQueue.main.async { self?.present(UINavigationController(rootViewController: vc), animated: true) } } } let getContact = UIAlertAction(title: K.Titles.fromContacts, style: .default) { [weak self] _ in self?.requestAccess { _ in self?.contactPicker.delegate = self DispatchQueue.main.async { self?.present(self!.contactPicker, animated: true) } } } let editBtn = UIAlertAction(title: K.Titles.editContact, style: .default) { [weak self] _ in self?.requestAccess { _ in let store = CNContactStore() var vc = CNContactViewController() do { let descriptor = CNContactViewController.descriptorForRequiredKeys() let editContact = try store.unifiedContact(withIdentifier: self!.oldContactID, keysToFetch: [descriptor]) vc = CNContactViewController(for: editContact) } catch { print("Getting contact to edit failed: \(self!.VC_String) \(error)") } vc.delegate = self // delegate for CNContactViewControllerDelegate self?.navigationController?.isNavigationBarHidden = false self?.navigationController?.navigationItem.hidesBackButton = false self?.navigationController?.pushViewController(vc, animated: true) } } let cancel = UIAlertAction(title: K.Titles.cancel, style: .cancel) { _ in } if oldContactID.isEmpty { editBtn.isEnabled = false } theAlert.addAction(getContact) // Select from contacts theAlert.addAction(addContact) // Create new contact theAlert.addAction(editBtn) // Edit this contact theAlert.addAction(cancel) let popOver = theAlert.popoverPresentationController popOver?.sourceView = sender popOver?.sourceRect = sender.bounds popOver?.permittedArrowDirections = .any present(theAlert, animated: true) } func requestAccess(completionHandler: @escaping (_ accessGranted: Bool) -> Void) { switch CNContactStore.authorizationStatus(for: .contacts) { case .authorized: completionHandler(true) case .denied: showSettingsAlert(completionHandler) case .restricted, .notDetermined: CNContactStore().requestAccess(for: .contacts) { granted, error in if granted { completionHandler(true) } else { DispatchQueue.main.async { [weak self] in self?.showSettingsAlert(completionHandler) } } } // iOS 18 only case .limited: completionHandler(true) @unknown default: break } } // MARK: - Contact Picker Delegate extension AddEdit_Quote_VC: CNContactPickerDelegate { func contactPicker(_ picker: CNContactPickerViewController, didSelect contact: CNContact) { selectedContactID = contact.identifier let company: String = contact.organizationName let companyText = company == "" ? Request for Enhanced Security Options for iPhone Passwords App (iCloud Keychain)
Right now, Apple’s iCloud Keychain (where saved passwords are stored) relies on the same authentication methods as your iPhone in general: Face ID or device passcode. This means: • If Face ID fails, it falls back to the device passcode. • Anyone with your passcode can unlock not only your phone but also your saved passwords by allowing the phone to go into the “enter iPhone password to view passwords” on the password app. Why this matters if someone knows or coerces your device passcode, they could potentially: • Bypass Face ID • Access sensitive password data • Compromise multiple accounts and could access all passwords I have saved on the password app. So, Let’s say my girlfriend knows my phone passcode, she pretty much then has access to all other password and backup codes I have saved on the password app. For this security vulnerability I believe it would be beneficial to introduce more advanced security options for accessing the Password section on iPhone. Specifically, 1. The ability to require Face ID only, without fallback to device passcode. 2. An option to set a dedicated password just for accessing the Passwords section (separate from the phone passcode). 3. Additional optional layers of protection, such as two-factor authentication or a biometric lock, that would prevent access even if someone knows the device passcode. These features would provide an extra level of security for users who are concerned about unauthorized access if someone gains access to their phone passcode.

Golf, pickleball, doctor appointments, etc. interrupts development. When I get back to it, my code has "disappeared", I open Xcode, open the project and I don't see any of my code - where did it go? I did find the code using the Finder in Directory/projname/projname/ContentView.swift (I'm not sure why projname is duplicated, no doubt my ignorance!) - so the code is still present, somewhere!

IOS 26 Camera and External Storage
Hi All, I searched for this feedback but didn't see it, so apologies if this has been covered by another thread. Exploring the new camera app, It doesn't seem to recognize that external storage has been connected, so the additional features that allow ProRes high frame rates will throw an error dialog stating that "to use this you need external storage" even when external storage is connected. Using the Files app, the phone recognizes the storage, and this is something I can do with this external storage device on the previous version of IOS. It is clear that this release of the camera has been rewritten significantly since the last version. Is it possible that this is an oversight, a bug, or just functionality that has not been completed? Interested if anybody else is seeing this, or if it is just my setup.
