How to correct business location?
My organization, Los Angeles Pierce College, rents space to "Topanga Vintage Market", which is a monthly weekend swap meet operation. Apple Maps shows the location as roughly 34.18715° N, 118.58058° W. However, this is the location of the campus Child Development Center, which provides child care services and is not open during the hours of the Topanga Vintage Market. The actual location should be in the adjacent large parking lot, roughly 34.18740° N, 118.57782° W. They do not have a physical building. How do I get this resolved? I am putting a campus mapping application into the App Store real soon now. There is also an entry for "ALC Taco Truck" about 34.18533° N, 118.57349° W, which as far as I know has not been on campus since Covid. Thanks in advance for any guidance you can provide.

Operation not permitted on xpc_listener_create
Hi, I'm trying to create a launch daemon that uses XPC to receive requests from an unprivileged app. Ultimately both components will be written in Go. For now I'm trying to write a PoC in Objective-C to make sure I get everything right, so I'm compiling / signing from the CLI, and writing plist files by hand -- I'm not using XCode. My current daemon code is pretty much the same as the boilerplate code that XCode generates when creating a new 'XPC Service': #import <stdio.h> #include <xpc/xpc.h> int main(int argc, char *argv[]) { xpc_rich_error_t error; dispatch_queue_t queue = dispatch_queue_create("com.foobar.daemon", DISPATCH_QUEUE_SERIAL); xpc_listener_t listener = xpc_listener_create( "com.foobar.daemon", queue, XPC_LISTENER_CREATE_NONE, ^(xpc_session_t _Nonnull peer) { xpc_session_set_incoming_message_handler(peer, ^(xpc_object_t _Nonnull message) { int64_t firstNumber = xpc_dictionary_get_int64(message, "firstNumber"); int64_t secondNumber = xpc_dictionary_get_int64(message, "secondNumber"); // Create a reply and send it back to the client. xpc_object_t reply = xpc_dictionary_create_reply(message); xpc_dictionary_set_int64(reply, "result", firstNumber + secondNumber); xpc_rich_error_t replyError = xpc_session_send_message(peer, reply); if (replyError) { printf("Reply failed, error: %s", xpc_rich_error_copy_description(replyError)); } }); }, &error); if (error != NULL) { printf("ERROR: %s\n", xpc_rich_error_copy_description(error)); exit(1); } printf("Created listener: %s", xpc_listener_copy_description(listener)); // Resuming the serviceListener starts this service. This method does not return. dispatch_main(); return 0; } I'm compiling, signing and installing my daemon with the following commands: build_foobar() { clang -Wall -x objective-c -o com.foobar.daemon poc/main.m codesign --force --verify --verbose --options=runtime \ --identifier="com.foobar.daemon" \ --sign="Mac Developer: Albin Kerouanton (XYZ)" \ --entitlements=poc/entitlements.plist \ com.foobar.daemon } install_foobar() { sudo cp com.foobar.daemon /Library/PrivilegedHelperTools/com.foobar.daemon sudo cp poc/com.foobar.daemon.plist /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.foobar.daemon.plist sudo launchctl bootout system/com.foobar.daemon || true sudo launchctl bootstrap system /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.foobar.daemon.plist } Here's the content of my entitlements.plist file: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>com.apple.application-identifier</key> <string>ABCD.com.foobar.daemon</string> </dict> </plist> And finally, here's my launchd plist file: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>Label</key> <string>com.foobar.daemon</string> <key>Program</key> <string>/Library/PrivilegedHelperTools/com.foobar.daemon</string> <key>ProgramArguments</key> <array> <string>/Library/PrivilegedHelperTools/com.foobar.daemon</string> </array> <key>RunAtLoad</key> <false/> <key>StandardOutPath</key> <string>/tmp/com.foobar.daemon.out.log</string> <key>StandardErrorPath</key> <string>/tmp/com.foobar.daemon.err.log</string> <key>Debug</key> <true/> </dict> </plist> Whenever I start my service using sudo launchctl start com.foobar.daemon, it exits with the following error message: ERROR: Unable to activate listener: failed at listener activation with error 1 - Operation not permitted System logs don't show anything interesting -- they're just repeating the same error message. I tried to add / remove some properties from both the entitlement and the launchd plist file but to no avail. Any idea what's going wrong?

Correct Usage of NEPacketTunnelProvider’s cancelTunnelWithError()
Hi everyone, I’ve been working with the NEPacketTunnelProvider class and came across the cancelTunnelWithError() method. The documentation mentions its general purpose but doesn’t provide much clarity on how and when it should be called. From what I’ve gathered in other forum posts, it seems that cancelTunnelWithError() should be called within my own implementation of the stopTunnel() method, but I’m not entirely sure if that’s the correct usage or whether there are specific scenarios where this applies. Here are my specific questions: Is it correct to always call cancelTunnelWithError() in my implementation of stopTunnel()? Are there specific conditions or scenarios where cancelTunnelWithError() is the preferred way to terminate a tunnel session, rather than other termination methods? What does the system do with the error that I pass to cancelTunnelWithError()? Does it have an impact on how the session termination is handled? Are there best practices or common pitfalls to avoid when using cancelTunnelWithError()? Any insights, examples, or guidance would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance for your help!

5G Network Slicing App Category and Traffic Category on built application
We found that when we only set one App Category and one Traffic Category in Xcode entitlements, the built application will contain all App Categories and Traffic Categories in the embedded.mobileprovision file, is it expected? Handling non-consumable in-app purchase tiers
How would you go about handling this sort of situation? An app has two tiers of non-consumable in-app purchases. The IAP simply unlocks a certain level of access in the app: The first tier for $1.99 allows the user to add up to 50 things. The second tier for $3.99 allows the user to add up to 200 things. If the user has not bought an IAP the app will show the two tiers available for purchase. The user then buys Tier 1 and happily goes about adding some things to the app. The app now only shows Tier 2 available for purchase, because Tier 1 has been purchased. A few weeks go by and they realise they need to add more than 50 things. Would the user have to suck it up and just accept they should've paid the $3.99? Or, could a new Tier 1.5 be added that's a kind of upgrade price of $2.00 (the difference between the two original tiers) to unlock the higher 200 things level? I doubt this would work properly, because although I can control that tier being displayed or not in the app, I cannot control it in the App Store product pages, and it would be displayed among the Tier 1 and Tier 2 levels, so people would just buy that rather than the full priced Tier 2. How should I handle this situation? Just have the one tier (Tier 2) and make it simpler?

Inquiry about Successful Subscription Without Payment Charge
Hi, I'm a server developer working on an iOS app, and I've encountered an interesting case that I'd like to understand better. We received a user report indicating that they were able to successfully start a subscription without any charge being processed on their payment method. The subscription appears to be active in our system and we can verify the receipt with Apple's server, but the user claims no payment was deducted from their account. I'm curious to know: Are there any known scenarios where a subscription might activate without an immediate payment charge? What would be the recommended way to handle such cases from the developer's perspective? Could this be related to any specific subscription states or edge cases in the IAP system? Any insights or documentation references would be greatly appreciated. I want to ensure we're handling our subscription logic correctly and providing the best experience for our users. Thank you in advance for your help!

iOS 18.x PDFKit Page.string and Page.attributedString return some text way out of oder
Reading text out of PDFs with PDFKit results in some text being returned way out of order when using .string or .attributedString functions. Way out of order means not just wrong sorting of words on a line or wrongly showing up on the next line (as has happened with PDFKit on older iOS releases, e.g. 17.x), but some text (one or more words) may show up near the end of a page of text, while it should show near the beginning. As Page.characterBounds(at:) is buggy in iOS 18.x returns wrong bounds, devs cannot correct such faulty PDFKit behaviour programmatically. I believe it is on Apple to fix this iOS 18 bug asap. Thank you for giving it priority as this is killing apps that need PDFKit to get and parse text data out of PDFs. I have filed Feedback FB16264926.

CallKit - CallDirectory extension - Added data by addIdentificationEntry
The app I'm making uses the CallDirectory extension to identify callers. Where is the contact data added by "func addIdentificationEntry" in "CallDirectory Extension" stored? The app calls "CXCallDirectoryManager.sharedInstance.reloadExtension" and adds contact data by processing "CXCallDirectoryExtensionContext.addIdentificationEntry" written in "func beginRequest" of "CallDirectory Extension". I thought that if I uninstalled the app, I would lose the contact data that added by App. However, when I uninstalled the app and reinstalled it, it seemed to retain contact data that added by App before I uninstalled the app, even though the app hasn't added any contact data yet. Will the contact data added to the "CallDirectory Extension" be retained on iPhone even after uninstalling the app? ---Note--- I found a similar post on the forum about contact data added by addIdentificationEntry. ・CallKit - addIdentificationEntry is it secure? [https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/662182] Answer of this post that "the added data is cached in a SQLite database", but I couldn't find any official Apple documentation on this, so I'm not sure if this is correct. If contact data is cached in SQLite, will that data remain on the iPhone when uninstalled and not deleted? ●Development environment Mac OS Sonoma 14.7.1 Xcode 16.0 Swift ●Test Device iPhoneSE3 iOS:17.6.1

WeatherKit - Forecast Issue Time
Hi There, My app displays both daily and hourly forecast information, as consumed from the Weatherkit API. I would also like to let my users know when the forecast was generated/issued. The reason being, if a forecast was issued 1-2 hours in the past for example, then the user(s) will know to refresh the weather forecast for the latest information soon. Looking through the docs, I don't see any way of accessing this information. I would expect it to be available on the hourlyForecast.metadata property. Does anyone know if it's possible to obtain the 'issued time' of the forecast? (both hourly and daily). Thanks

I am trying to create a lockscreen widget that is a deepink to a page in my app, but I am getting an error once building the widget itself (building the app works). APN Certificate on app transfer
Hi, My customer has acquired the assets of another company. We therefore need to transfer this company's app to my customer's account. This app primarily functions using WebRTC video, which relies on APN PUSH notifications. I have reviewed the information about transferring an app from one developer account to another, particularly here: https://developer.apple.com/help/app-store-connect/transfer-an-app/overview-of-app-transfer. I understand that we need to generate a new SSL certificate that will be integrated into the app once it has been transferred. Since users will not all update the app immediately, we will have two server certificates running in parallel for some time. Is it allowed to send two notifications to the same iPhone, knowing that one of the two will systematically fail? If not, what is the best practice for successfully migrating VOIP notifications? Thank you in advance, F. BABIN

Critical SKAdNetwork Attribution
Subject/Title: Critical SKAdNetwork Attribution Failures (Bug Type: 237, Failure Type: 1201 in ASDErrorDomain) Issue Summary We are encountering repeated SKAdNetwork attribution failures (failureType: 1201 in ASDErrorDomain) for ad impression events processed through the ad network mj797d8u6f.skadnetwork. These failures are causing significant revenue losses, as ad impressions are not being properly attributed to installs. The issue occurs across multiple campaigns and involves both SKAdNetwork API 3.0 and 4.0, suggesting a systemic problem with attribution validation or network communication. This problem is critical as it disrupts advertisers’ ability to track conversions, optimize campaigns, and allocate budgets effectively. Environment: OS Version: iOS 18.2.1 (Build 22C161). Device Type: iPhone (hardwareFamily: iPhone). App Configuration: Includes the ad network ID in the Info.plist under SKAdNetworkItems. Impact Details Financial Loss: Based on failure rates, we estimate $20–$65/day per advertiser for small campaigns and $75–$375/day per advertiser for larger campaigns. If 100 advertisers are affected, daily losses range from $2,000–$37,500. Over a week, losses could exceed $70,000 to $262,500 or more. Operational Impact: Advertisers cannot track installs or optimize campaigns, leading to inefficient ad spending and potential budget reallocation to other networks. Damaged trust between advertisers and the ad network. Reputation Risk: Continued failures harm the credibility of the SKAdNetwork framework, critical in a post-ATT (App Tracking Transparency) ecosystem. Steps to Reproduce Serve an ad impression through the ad network mj797d8u6f.skadnetwork. Monitor SKAdNetwork attribution for that impression. Observe repeated failures (failureType: 1201) despite the resultType: finalized status. Recommendations for Investigation Attribution Timeout: Verify if these failures stem from delayed responses or missed attribution windows. Ad Network Configuration: Confirm the ad network’s integration complies with SKAdNetwork API 3.0 and 4.0 requirements. Infrastructure Review: Investigate potential bottlenecks or failures in Apple’s attribution servers (ASDErrorDomain) or communication delays.
