iOS promotional code eligibility
I am implementing promotional codes for auto-renewing subscriptions in my app. I need to create the codes and have them link to a discounted auto-renewing subscription. So my normal 1 month subscription is $24.99, I would like to offer users (new subscribers and existing/expired subscribers) the ability to enter a promo code that discounts the price of the first month to $4.99, then $24.99 after the initial first month. All users, regardless of whether or not they have has a previous subscription or not should be able to use this code for this discount. From what I am seeing in documentation, promo codes are only available to users that have had a subscription previously? Currently I am receiving the response "Offer Not Available" with the error: <SKPaymentQueue: 0x2815f0d60>: Payment completed with error: Error Domain=ASDServerErrorDomain Code=3904 "Offer Not Available" UserInfo={NSLocalizedDescription=Offer Not Available I simply do NOT understand why apple engineers have to make something that should be somewhat straightforward, be SO COMPLEX, then when you try to figure out whats going wrong, no meaningful error to troubleshoot. WTF I have tried this on users that have had a previous subscription and still the same error.

Storekit2 equivalent of SKPaymentTransactionObserver
We have implementend Storekit 2 in our app, for one time purchases and subscriptions, so it is iOS15 and higher only. Everything works fine, but now we want to add App Store promotions for our IAP's. That doesn't work because the App requires the app to implement SKPaymentTransactionObserver How to Promote Your In-App Purchases Make sure your app supports a delegate method in SKPaymentTransactionObserver. You can choose to customize which promoted in-app purchases a user sees on a specific device by implementing SKProductStorePromotionController. The problem is that this observer is part of the original Storekit API and not of the new one. What can we do to make this work with the new Storekit 2 API?

can not verify receipt
I have three questions about verify receipt I use this api (https://buy.itunes.apple.com/verifyReceipt)to verify receipt is success or not. But since last month, this interface has started to return an error(21002). I see this document (https://developer.apple.com/documentation/appstorereceipts/verifyreceipt) say its Deprecated. My question is, is the error suddenly returned recently because the interface has been deprecated or for some other reason? (I haven't modified my code about this recently) I can not understand this document: (https://developer.apple.com/documentation/appstorereceipts/validating_receipts_on_the_device) Does this mean that in the new version, as long as the app returns a payment success (purchaseDetails.status == PurchaseStatus.purchased), the payment is guaranteed to be successful, and my server does not need to request payment result verification from Apple's server? I try to use this (https://github.com/apple/app-store-server-library-java) to get TransactionInfo, but I dont konw to get Transaction status to know is success or not. my java server code : AppStoreServerAPIClient client = new AppStoreServerAPIClient(encodedKey, keyId, issuerId, bundleId, environment); TransactionInfoResponse response = client.getTransactionInfo(transactionId); (bug i can note get transaction status, how do i konw this Transaction is success or not)

Unexpected notificationType in App Store Server Notifications V2 when free trial ends
In my app’s IAP products, before enabling free trials, the App Store Server Notifications V2 callbacks all returned the correct notificationType. For auto-renewable subscriptions, when they were about to expire, the notificationType was either DID_RENEW or EXPIRED. A small number of cases(DID_FAIL_TO_RENEW) failed to renew due to billing issues, which was expected. However, after I enabled a 7-day free trial for the auto-renewable products, I noticed that in the App Store Server Notifications V2 callbacks, almost all users (except those who manually turned off auto-renewal) received notificationType = DID_FAIL_TO_RENEW. According to the documentation, DID_FAIL_TO_RENEW indicates a billing issue renewal failure, but in this case it seems like all renewals are being marked as failed. I’ve observed that for users who cancel during the free trial, the callbacks look normal: first a DID_CHANGE_RENEWAL_STATUS notification, then an EXPIRED notification when the trial ends. That flow seems correct. However, for users who do not cancel the trial, almost all callbacks show DID_FAIL_TO_RENEW. Does this mean every remaining user has a billing issue? I also noticed on the Developer Forums that other developers have reported the same issue — receiving a large number of DID_FAIL_TO_RENEW notifications specifically when free trials convert to paid subscriptions: https://developer.apple.com/forums/search?q=DID_FAIL_TO_RENEW Could someone clarify: under normal circumstances, when a free trial transitions to a paid subscription and fails, should the App Store Server Notifications V2 notificationType indeed be DID_FAIL_TO_RENEW, or should it be a different type(e.g. EXPIRED)? And is it expected behavior that almost all free trial conversions return DID_FAIL_TO_RENEW?

StoreKit doesn't always work correctly in sandbox environment
There is an issue with StoreKit. The line let products = try await StoreKit.Product.products(for: ids) doesn't always work correctly. Sometimes it returns an array with the correct data, and sometimes it returns an empty array. I'm passing the correct ids to products(for:). This problem only occurs when using the sandbox environment (in TestFlight builds). In the App Store version, everything works fine. StoreKit configuration is none. All IAPs are approved. Everything was working fine before this. The problem was discovered on May 1, 2025.

StoreKit2, IAP not instantly shared with Family
Hey folks! In one of our apps we're using the FamilyControls framework to manage the screentime for the child. The app requires the Guardian to activate a subscription on his/her device to enable the functionality for the Child on the child device. We're currently using StoreKit 2 to get notified when there is an active subscription. The issue we're seeing (and our users) is that an activated subscription isn't instantly propagated to the Family members, in this case the device belonging to the child. Is this a known bug, and are the possible any workarounds? Currently we have to ask our users to "Restore Purchase" or wait minutes/hours for the app to active, which isn't a viable solution. We want it to "just work" :) Sincerely, César Pinto Castillo Ambi Studio

Unable to Authenticate with App Store Server API in Production (401 Error)
Our application is currently under review, and we are still facing issues because we receive a 401 Unauthorized response from the App Store Connect API when using the production environment. Our app integrates with Chargebee for subscription management, and in production, Chargebee is unable to authenticate with the App Store Server API. This results in a 401 Unauthorized error, preventing the user’s subscription from being synced correctly into our system. Interestingly, the same configuration works in the sandbox environment, but fails in production. We’ve tried authenticating using JWTs generated from multiple keys (including App Store Connect API / Team Keys with both Admin and App Manager access, and also In-App Purchase keys), all with the same result — sandbox access works, production does not. Here is our example code for testing with JWT token: const jwt = require('jsonwebtoken'); const fs = require('fs'); const https = require('https'); const config = { keyId: '<key_id>', issuerId: 'issuer_id', bundleId: 'bundle_id', privateKey: fs.readFileSync('path_to_key') }; const { keyId, issuerId, bundleId, privateKey } = config; const now = Math.floor(Date.now() / 1000); const jwtToken = jwt.sign( { iss: issuerId, iat: now, exp: now + 60 * 10, // 10 minutes is fine for test aud: 'appstoreconnect-v1', bid: bundleId }, privateKey, { algorithm: 'ES256', header: { alg: 'ES256', kid: keyId, typ: 'JWT' } } ); console.log('Generated JWT:\n', jwtToken); // prod const originalTransactionId = '<prod_transaction_id>'; const hostname = 'api.storekit.itunes.apple.com'; // sandbox // const originalTransactionId = '<sandbox_transaction_id>'; // const hostname = 'api.storekit-sandbox.itunes.apple.com' const options = { hostname, port: 443, path: `/inApps/v1/history/${originalTransactionId}`, method: 'GET', headers: { Authorization: `Bearer ${jwtToken}`, 'Content-Type': 'application/json', }, }; const callAppStoreConnectApi = async () => { const req = https.request(options, (res) => { console.log(`\nStatus Code: ${res.statusCode}`); let data = ''; res.on('data', (chunk) => { data += chunk; }); res.on('end', () => { console.log('Response Body:\n', data || '[Empty]'); }); }); req.on('error', (e) => { console.error('Request Error:', e); }); req.end(); }; callAppStoreConnectApi(); With this code, we were able to authenticate successfully in the sandbox environment, but not in production. I read in this discussion: https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/711801 that the issue was resolved once the app was published to the App Store, but I haven’t found any official documentation confirming this. Does anyone know what the issue could be?

Does originalTransactionId change if a user resubscribes?
Hello, For In App Purchases with a renewable subscription, does the originalTransactionId change in the following scenarios? Case 1: A user subscribes to a subscription A within a Subscription Group SG1. The user then cancels it at the end of the month. Comes back later to subscribe to the same subscription A within the same Subscription Group SG1. Case 2: A user subscribes to a subscription A within a Subscription Group SG1. The user then cancels it at the end of the month. Comes back later to subscribe to subscription B within the same Subscription Group SG1.

External Link Account Modal language
Hi All, We are developing our app with an approved External Link Account Entitlement. During the development process (such as installing from Xcode or creating an Ad-hoc build and installing it on a phone), the open() function of the External Link Account API displays the modal our native language. The app only localized to that language. However, after uploading the app with the same configuration to TestFlight, the modal somehow appears in English instead. What could be causing this issue with the External Link Account modal? How can the open() function display the modal in another language when installed from Xcode or an Ad-hoc release build, but in English when installed from TestFlight? How can we show only our native lanugage version only to our Users? Thank you in advance

How to Verify the Authenticity of an In-App Purchase Receipt from Apple Pay?
I am an app developer, and I have implemented in-app purchases in my application. When a user completes a purchase, Apple displays a success popup. After the user taps "OK", I send the receiptData to my server to add points to their account. However, I have encountered cases where users either exit the app before tapping "OK" or experience network issues, preventing the receipt from being sent to my server. As a result, they do not receive their points. Later, some users send me a receipt from Apple Pay, claiming that the payment was successful. These receipts include details such as the orderId, email, and other transaction information. However, I am not certain whether the user actually completed the payment but encountered an issue, or if they are providing a fraudulent receipt. My question: How can I verify the authenticity of these receipts? Is there an official way to check if a given Apple Pay invoice corresponds to a real in-app purchase in my app? Any guidance or best practices would be greatly appreciated!

IAP receipt validation fails with status code: 21002
I have implemented IAP. The purchases are successful. The refresh receipt is working fine, which then calls the requestDidFinish(_ request: SKRequest) delegate. I'm fetching the receipt url through 'Bundle.main.appStoreReceiptURL'. When I convert the receipt data in base64 string and send it to app store's sandbox api and try to validate the receipt, it fails giving status code : 21002.

Need Objective C code to validate App Store SHA-256 receipt on device
With the imminent suspension of SHA-1 on App Store receipts, we desperately need an objective C code sample demonstrating how to calculate the same SDH-256 hash on device to compared with the hash from the App Store receipt. The forced migration to SHA256 for app store receipts this month mean we have to rewrite our on device receipt validation code. However there is no documentation or objC sample code on how to validate the SHA256 hash from MAS receipts. Thje documentation at https://developer.apple.com/documentation/technotes/tn3138-handling-app-store-receipt-signing-certificate-changes/ does not give any detail on how to validate SHA256. All my 100+ hours of experimentation and trial and error attempting to create a matching SHA256 has on device have failed. We desperately need some ObjC Sample code to validate the SHA256 hash on device. Our existing SHA1 code is still working but we expect SHA1 hashes to disappear from MAS Receipts any day now. Tnanks for any advice !

Acknowledgment there is a subscription renewal problem?
New subscriptions have been failing to renew in the sandbox for 3 days. I am seeing multiple posts and comments from people that appear to be experiencing the same issue. But I haven't seen any feedback from Apple representatives. I really do not want to launch a new app without seeing functioning renewals in the sandbox. Is there somewhere else we are intended to seek assistance?

The currency information obtained from [priceLocale] differs between the TestFlight version and the official release version.
When creating a subscription charging system for an iOS app, I am trying to change the display to yen, dollars, or euros depending on the user's country. I am using [priceLocale] of [SKProduct] in [StoreKit] to obtain currency information linked to the Apple account from the App Store and change the display. The smartphone I am testing on uses an Apple account created in Japan, and the nationality of the App Store is also set to Japan, so I expect the display to be in yen. As a result, the TestFligh version displayed dollars, but the official release version displayed yen. Why doesn't the TestFligh version display yen?

In App Purchase does not work
I read the documentation and it told I had to prepare the product on App Store connect and once it is at the state "Ready to submit" I could access it on a phone where I am connected with an Icloud account in the developper list of the apple development account. This is what I've done but when I try to fetch in my flutter code the product with the id I set in App Store connect it says "No product found" Here is where I fetch the product: Future purchaseProduct(String productId) async { try { Set<String> _pIds = {productId}; final ProductDetailsResponse response = await _iap.queryProductDetails(_pIds); if (response.productDetails.isEmpty) { throw 'Product not found'; } final ProductDetails productDetails = response.productDetails.first; final PurchaseParam purchaseParam = PurchaseParam(productDetails: productDetails); _iap.buyConsumable(purchaseParam: purchaseParam); } catch (e) { Services.debugLog('Error purchasing product: $e'); throw e; } } I checked the product ID and it does not seems to be the problem. Is there some other steps I need to do ?

“Billing problem” after free trial subscription expiry in sandbox environment
Yesterday I noticed that if I purchase a free trial subscription in my app using a sandbox account, when the subscription expires I see a “Billing Problem” message every time I open the app. ”allow purchases & renewals“ setting is ON so this shouldn’t happen. has anyone else seen this or knows how to resolve? observed on iOS 18.3.2 & 16.7.10 thanks

Resending notifications from Apple
Regarding App Store Server Notifications V2,we are currently using Notifications V2 in a production environment. It is set up so that if the server receives the notification successfully, it returns 200 after about 30 seconds, and if an error occurs, it returns 400 or 500. However, the notification is being resent multiple times from Apple's server, at 1 hour, 12 hours, and 24 hours. Is it necessary to return the notification using Apple's API?
