Issues Handling Multiple Incoming Calls in CallKit
Certainly! Here's a concise version of your forum post: Title: Issues Handling Multiple Incoming Calls in CallKit Body: Hello, I'm using CallKit and I am encountering challenges with handling multiple incoming calls. Current Configuration: configuration.maximumCallsPerCallGroup = 5 configuration.maximumCallGroups = 3 This setup aims to allow up to 5 calls per group. Observed Behavior: Despite the configuration, the system UI seems to limit the number of calls per group, often defaulting to "End & Accept" instead of "Hold & Accept" when a third call comes in. Questions: Is there a documented system-imposed limit on the number of calls per group or total calls, even if maximumCallGroups and maximumCallsPerCallGroup are set higher? How does the system UI behave when these limits are exceeded? Are there known UI constraints or fallback behaviors? Are there best practices for handling scenarios where the system UI cannot display all calls, such as gracefully managing incoming calls or providing alternative UI solutions? Any insights or experiences with similar configurations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Feel free to copy and paste this directly into the Apple Developer Forums. If you need further assistance or adjustments, let me know!

Request for Device Temperature Monitoring and Thermal Attribution Analysis APIs
Background: During daily usage of iOS devices, devices experience noticeable thermal issues. This heating not only affects user experience, but may also lead to device performance throttling, shortened battery life, and other problems. We need better understanding and monitoring of device thermal states to optimize application performance and user experience. Issues Encountered: Insufficient thermal monitoring capabilities: Unable to obtain real-time accurate temperature data from devices Difficult power consumption analysis: Hard to determine which specific modules or threads cause high power consumption and heating Requested Solutions: Temperature Monitoring API: Provide accessible device temperature reading interfaces Thermal Attribution Analysis Capability: During heating events, we expect to receive more detailed power consumption monitoring data, such as CPU, GPU, network, location services, display, high power consumption thread stacks and other information to help developers identify high energy consumption operations

Network devices may not be able to connect to Personal HotSpot.
Explanation of the issue When tethering is enabled and a wireless connection is established, there are instances where an IP address is not assigned. Steps to Reproduce the Issue (if possible) Enable iPhone tethering and connect wirelessly using 11ax. Expected Result The iPhone assigns an IP address, enabling network connectivity. Actual Result Observed DHCP negotiation failed. After attempting communication with the DHCP server via DHCP Discover, a DHCP Offer was returned from the iPhone. If this was missed, it would retry by performing another DHCP Discover. However, the iPhone does not issue a DHCP Offer no matter how many times it retries. The IP address is not assigned unless the wireless connection is disconnected and reconnected. If the initial Discover is missed, does this invalidate subsequent Offer retries? The above issue has been confirmed on iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 16. It does not appear to occur on iPhone 15.

Screen Time issues after transferring App developer account ownership
After transferring the App ownership to a different account, if you update the app on iOS, two identical apps will show up in Settings > Screen Time. Users can't control the blocking settings from before the update - the only fix is to restart the phone. After the next execution of manageStore.shield.applications, users still can't manually disable the restrictions - their only option is to uninstall and reinstall the app. I believe this is related to how Screen Time API's authentication works - it's not just tied to the app's bundle ID, but also linked to the developer account's organization ID. Any suggestions for a clean solution that would allow smooth app updates after the transfer without running into these issues?

How to whitelist Apple to access AASA file?
We have implemented Universal Links for iOS. We have deployed the following file as per the documentation: /.well-known/apple-app-site-association Everything works fine until my organization applied domain-level block on traffic out side my country. We need to whitelist Apple servers but we cannot find their IPs or domains used to access this file.

How to change default settings(a4,color etc.) on print system dialog in macOS programatically
Hello, I added a printer using lpadmin command. ` lpadmin "-p", "print_queue", "-D", "print queue", "-P", "temp/data/driver.ppd", "-E", "-o", "printer-error-policy=abort-job", "-o", "printer-is-shared=false", "-o", "cupsIPPSupplies=false", "-o", "cupsSNMPSupplies=false", "-o", "ColorModel=Color", "-o", "Media=A3", "-o", "OutputPaperSize=A3" then I set default printing options for your user account via lpoptions `lpoptions "-p", "print_queue", "-o", "Duplex=DuplexNoTumble", "-o", "Media=A3" But still default values in system print dialog are set to a4 and grayscale. Why? Is there any way how to change it to correspond with values set by these commands? Also tried to change driver files defaults, but again, nothing.

The enterprise app crashes.
I created a new project, packaged it with my own enterprise certificate, installed and used it. There were no problems on most devices. However, on some devices with system versions of 18.3 and 18.4, the app crashes when opened after trusting the certificate. It seems that there is something wrong with the certificate, but I have confirmed that the certificate is fine. May I ask what the cause of this issue is?

Question about testing the Declared Age Range feature
I’m integrating the Declared Age Range feature to tailor our app’s experience based on a user’s age range. I’m currently in the testing phase and would like to repeatedly test the consent flow and different outcomes from AgeRangeService.shared.requestAgeRange(...). However, once I go through the consent flow and choose to share, the age-range sharing sheet no longer appears on subsequent attempts—so it’s hard to validate edge cases (e.g., changed gates, declined flow, re-prompt behavior). Could you advise on the recommended way to reset or re-prompt during development? In particular: Is there a supported way to clear per-app consent so the system prompts again? Under what conditions should the “Share Age Range Again” control appear in Settings, and is there an equivalent way to trigger it for testing? Are there best practices for QA (e.g., using Ask First at the system level, testing on real devices vs. Simulator, using a separate bundle ID for dev builds, or other steps)? Any other guidance for validating different requestAgeRange results (e.g., declined/not available) would be appreciated.

Screentime API new issues on iOS 17.4.1 and 17.5.1
Hi, I have a released screentime app ScreenZen. The last few days I've seen a disturbing spike in bug reports coming from people with 17.4.1 and 17.5.1 phones with no update to the app itself. People reported they saw the issue immediately after updating their iOS version. Unfortunately it is not replicable on all phones with those versions, so we haven't been able to replicate it on our test phones. It appears the issue is the ApplicationToken passed into ShieldActionExtension and ShieldConfigurationExtension does not match any of the ApplicationTokens that the user selected to block through FamilyControls. (The selected ApplicationTokens are being loaded through a group UserDefaults and they are indeed being loaded in the ShieldActionExtension in the bug reports). This is preventing the app from loading the correct settings and handling the blocking accordingly. I am trying to isolate this better with a new release with better logging, but would appreciate any help on this issue.

Is MetricKit automatically on all devices?
Hello Apple, I am trying to get information such as crash context whenever a user encounters a situation where the app is killed. I was wondering if the tool MetricKit is available to all users or is this a feature to those who has opted into it. I am aware that the whenever someone gets a new device or in settings, an option will appear that'll have users decide whether or not to have Apple receive data analytics during certain events on their device. Does this have any effect on whether some users may not have MetricKit? Overall, we are attempting to use MetricKit to better analyze performance of our app. It would be inefficient for us, if the population of users using MetricKit is only those who have opted into it. Thanks, dmaliro

Issue with CXSetTranslatingCallAction – "Couldn't communicate with a helper application" error
Hi Team, We are encountering issues while implementing the live translation feature in our VoIP application using CallKit on iOS 26.0. Specifically, we are attempting to use the CXSetTranslatingCallAction transaction to enable translation programmatically during an active call. However, executing this transaction results in the following error: "Couldn't communicate with a helper application." This occurs consistently when we attempt to trigger the translation setup without user interaction. We are seeking clarification on the following points: Is it possible to enable CallKit's live translation feature using CXSetTranslatingCallAction purely programmatically, without requiring the user to interact with the system-provided Call UI? What does the above error indicate in the context of CXSetTranslatingCallAction? Are there specific conditions, entitlements, or background service requirements that must be fulfilled to communicate with CallKit? Code snippet: let translationAction = CXSetTranslatingCallAction(call: callUUID, isTranslating: true, localLocale: Locale.init(identifier: "es-ES"), remoteLocale: Locale(identifier: "en-US")) let transaction = CXTransaction(action: translationAction) callController.request(transaction) We would deeply appreciate any guidance you can provide regarding the feasibility of our approach and how to address this error. Thank you for your support.

Clarification on Opening Main App from Share Extension and App Store Submission
Hello, In our application, we have implemented an app extension to allow users to open the main app directly from the share activity window. To achieve this, we used the openURL(:) method from the NSExtensionContext class, as documented here: openURL(:). However, we received one post from Apple stating that opening the main app directly is typically only supported in extensions such as Today widgets or iMessage apps. They also mentioned that this approach may require an additional review during the App Store submission process. Link: https://developer.apple.com/documentation/foundation/nsextensioncontext/1416791-openurl Could someone clarify: If using openURL(_:) in a share extension to open the main app would lead to potential issues during App Store submission? Are there specific guidelines or alternative approaches we should follow to ensure compliance? Any insights or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Grouping websites as a standalone category is preferable as well. Could we as developers just have access to that one?

How to use the declared age range API / Comply with Texas law
What are guidelines for apps being released in the US App Store in order to comply with The Texas App Store Accountability Act? I mean there's no way to differentiate an app downloaded in Texas from the other states and it would be ridiculous to add location awareness to an app to comply with this, so effectively it means any developer of any app for release in the US must comply with this in case it might be being used in Texas?
