Hi,
I'm trying to setup PIR service for live caller id lookup (in python but based on swift example: https://github.com/apple/live-caller-id-lookup-example). The swift example provides utilities for database setup and encryption, but I can't find any specification about which key is used for database encryption and how the ios system knows about this key in order to be able to construct the PIR requests.
So my question is how does the PIR service communicate the secret key to ios system or vice versa? (specific to the test environment, before onboarding)

I am a macOS software developer using Xcode and Objective-C. I have a wallpaper app on the App Store, and recently, a few users have asked if the app can be excluded from the ‘Screen Time’ statistics. Is there a way to allow users to choose whether or not the app should appear in the ‘Screen Time’ tracking? I have already set LSUIElement to YES in the info.plist, but the app is still being tracked in ‘Screen Time.
Hi everyone,
We’re integrating Apple Calendar (iCalendar) into our Codapet app but haven’t found any official Apple APIs for event management and synchronisation.
Currently, we use CalDAV with Apple ID authentication and an app-specific password (ASP), storing the ASP encrypted in our database and decrypting it for each API call. We’re looking for a more secure and recommended approach to this integration.
Does Apple provide dedicated APIs for calendar sync, or is there a better alternative to avoid sending the ASP with every request? Any guidance or best practices would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
We have created an app that uses Appintents to plug into Siri. However, launching the app >sometimes< will launch a menu that will let the user choose between the app and Contacts. Why? How can I tell Siri to not ask for Contacts?
My CoreSpotlight extension seems to exceed the 6 MB memory limit. What’s the best way to debug this?
I've tried to attach the debugger on the Simulator but the extension seems to be never launched when I trigger the reindex from Developer settings. Is this supposed to work?
On device, I am able to attach the debugger. However, I can neither transfer the debug session to Instruments, nor display the memory graph. So I've no idea how the memory is used.
Any recommendations how to move forward? Is there a way to temporarily disable the memory limit since even with LLDB attached, the extension is killed.
Goal: Manually install an explicit version of Rosetta2
Background:
Me and some customers have an old app (intel) which perfectly worked with Rosetta2. In the last week of April most macheines were updated to Mac Os 15.4.1. and the app still starts but certain functionality is bronken. Some fields ind the forms don't write back to the database, some data can't be read from the database.
(Most installations will fade out over the next month but it would be great to have the app fully working for data migration.)
First try was to step back to 15.4. (Clean Install - Install App - Rosetta installs as expected): no change, app still broken
Second try back to 15: (Clean Install - Install App - Rosetta installs as expected): App still broken (!) This is interesting as the app worked for month using Mac Os 15!
Third try: Back to MacOS 14 (Clean Install - Install App - Rosetta installs as expected): App is working like nothing happend.
(All attempts on same hardware of course.)
Reasoning:
Rosetta2 was the only software (besides the app itself) installed after clean MacOS installs. Now, my guess is that there were might be a change in Rosetta2 as the app worked on MacOs 15 up the update 15.4.1. was installed.
Checking versions (pkgutil --pkg-info com.apple.pkg.RosettaUpdateAuto):
Rosetta version MacOS 14: 1.0.0.0.1.1722778371
Rosetta version on MacOS 15.4.1: 1.0.0.0.1.1744447383
To fully verify the cause it would be great to uninstall Rosetta on MacOS15.4.1 machine and explicit install lower version (1.0.0.0.1.1722778371) which must be available somewhere as MacOS14 still gets this version.
I know how to uninstall - is there a possibility to manually install an explicit version of Rosetta2?

Hi Apple Dev community,
I want to ask if CallKit and CXCallDirectoryProvider (with addBlockingEntryWithNextSequentialPhoneNumber) doesn't work for 3rd party Phone apps.
Is this a known issue that CallKit doesn't work on 3rd party iOS Phone apps (like WhatsApp, etc)?
Thank you.
Subject/Title:
Critical SKAdNetwork Attribution Failures (Bug Type: 237, Failure Type: 1201 in ASDErrorDomain)
Issue Summary
We are encountering repeated SKAdNetwork attribution failures (failureType: 1201 in ASDErrorDomain) for ad impression events processed through the ad network mj797d8u6f.skadnetwork. These failures are causing significant revenue losses, as ad impressions are not being properly attributed to installs.
The issue occurs across multiple campaigns and involves both SKAdNetwork API 3.0 and 4.0, suggesting a systemic problem with attribution validation or network communication.
This problem is critical as it disrupts advertisers’ ability to track conversions, optimize campaigns, and allocate budgets effectively.
Technical Details
Key Logs:
Below are anonymized samples of the failed SKAdNetwork events:

Failure Details:
Failure Type: 1201
Failure Domain: ASDErrorDomain
Ad Network ID: mj797d8u6f.skadnetwork
API Versions Affected: 3.0, 4.0
Timeframe of Failures: All logs occur within 2025-01-07 22:00:00 UTC to 23:00:00 UTC.
Environment:
OS Version: iOS 18.2.1 (Build 22C161).
Device Type: iPhone (hardwareFamily: iPhone).
App Configuration: Includes the ad network ID in the Info.plist under SKAdNetworkItems.
Impact Details
Financial Loss:
Based on failure rates, we estimate $20–$65/day per advertiser for small campaigns and $75–$375/day per advertiser for larger campaigns.
If 100 advertisers are affected, daily losses range from $2,000–$37,500.
Over a week, losses could exceed $70,000 to $262,500 or more.
Operational Impact:
Advertisers cannot track installs or optimize campaigns, leading to inefficient ad spending and potential budget reallocation to other networks.
Damaged trust between advertisers and the ad network.
Reputation Risk:
Continued failures harm the credibility of the SKAdNetwork framework, critical in a post-ATT (App Tracking Transparency) ecosystem.
Steps to Reproduce
Serve an ad impression through the ad network mj797d8u6f.skadnetwork.
Monitor SKAdNetwork attribution for that impression.
Observe repeated failures (failureType: 1201) despite the resultType: finalized status.
Recommendations for Investigation
Attribution Timeout:
Verify if these failures stem from delayed responses or missed attribution windows.
Ad Network Configuration:
Confirm the ad network’s integration complies with SKAdNetwork API 3.0 and 4.0 requirements.
Infrastructure Review:
Investigate potential bottlenecks or failures in Apple’s attribution servers (ASDErrorDomain) or communication delays.

Hello guys,
I have been trying to advertise in the background but I can’t seem to make it work.
In my case, I want if a device is acting as a peripheral and the app goes to the background it still can be discoverable and be able to write/read to/from it by the central.
I have added the background mode “Acts as a Bluetooth accessory”.
When will willRestoreState be called?
What should I do in willRestoreState?
Will it always be discoverable or have some limitations?
Should I stop advertising at any point?
How should I clean up after the view is dismissed?
Must the peripheral manager be initialized in the AppDelegate? and if so, will it always be advertising even if I don't want it to?
What are the battery concerns?
Also, I have encountered an issue that my iPhone device can discover an Android device but not the opposite. What could be the problem of this?
Thank you.
Best regards
I've discovered a bug in the Phone app on iOS related to how long verdicts are displayed.
When a call is identified by a third-party Caller ID app, long verdicts display correctly during the call (they auto-scroll) and in the call log (with an ellipsis at the end). However, on the call details screen, the text is strangely truncated - showing only the beginning of the string and the last word.
For testing, I used this verdict: "Musclemen grow on trees. They can tense their muscles and look good in a mirror. So what? I'm interested in practical strength that's going to help me run, jump, twist, punch."
I'll attach a screenshots demonstrating the problem:
Hey everyone,
I have an app using the screen time api, I've had quite a few reports from users saying that our monitoring features stop working until they open our app. What happens is that activities and schedules set with the device activity monitor seem to disappear. This is something we check on app re-opens and so we schedule them again and that is why the monitoring starts working again.
Of course our current solution is not optimal since our app is mainly passive. Has anyone experienced these kinds of issue ?
Hey all,
Running into an issue with a WeatherKit.
Whenever I make a WeatherKit API call, I get this error:
Details: { domain: WeatherDaemon.WDSClientErrors, localizedDescription: invalidAuthorization: 401, underlyingError: Unknown, code: 3 }
This only happens when calling via the Swift package:
swift
WeatherService.shared.weather(for: location).currentWeather
When I was calling the WeatherKit REST API directly from Dart, everything worked fine.
So far I’ve:
Enabled WeatherKit in the Apple Developer account
Added the WeatherKit capability to the app
Refreshed provisioning profiles
Installed the app fresh on device/simulator
Has anyone seen this specific invalidAuthorization: 401 from WeatherDaemon.WDSClientErrors when using WeatherService in Swift, and know what might be missing or misconfigured?
I have a watch only app that display an open/close park status and the current temperature with a current condition icon. That's it. On second submission the watch app was rejected due to no WeatherKit attribution. I have a lack of clarity of what's needed. With my single view that display my content I don't want WeatherKit attribution to overwhelm what's being presented to the user. I've tried looking for watch apps in the store that provide attribution and I'm not finding any. Looking for advice on how to meet this requirement without attribution overpowering my content.
Hi,
I’m trying to get an array of strings from the user using AppIntents, but I’m encountering an issue. The shortcut ends without prompting the user for input or saving the value, though it doesn’t crash. I need to get the user to input multiple tasks in an array, but the current approach isn’t working as expected.
Here’s the current method I’m using:
// Short code snippet showing the current method
private func collectTasks() async throws -> [String] {
var collectedTasks: [String] = tasks ?? []
while true {
if !collectedTasks.isEmpty {
let addMore = try await $input.requestConfirmation("Would you like to add another task?")
if !addMore {
break
}
}
let newTask = try await $input.requestValue("Please enter a task:")
collectedTasks.append(newTask)
}
return collectedTasks
}
The Call
func perform() async throws -> some IntentResult {
let finalTasks = try await collectTasks()
// Some more Code
}
Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
We’re seeing unexpected NFC behavior once our app has 50+ Advanced App Clips created.
Expected:
Scanning an NFC tag with a URL that is NOT an App Clip invocation should show the standard “Open in Safari” notification.
Actual:
After we create ~50+ Advanced App Clips, scanning NFC tags for URLs on the same domain that are not associated with App Clips consistently shows “CPSErrorDomain error 2” instead of the Safari prompt.
QR codes for the same non–App Clip URLs work as expected (shows Safari prompt).
Clearing the App Clips “Experience Cache” sometimes helps briefly, but the error returns on consequent scans.
Notes:
Domain has valid AASA. App Clip invocation URLs work as expected.
The issue appears tied to the number of Advanced App Clips configured. Below ~50, non–App Clip NFC scans behave correctly; above that, they fail.
Affected across multiple devices and iOS versions tested.
Repro steps:
Configure 50+ Advanced App Clips for paths on a single domain.
Encode a different URL on the same domain that is NOT listed as an App Clip invocation into an NFC tag.
Scan the NFC tag on iPhone.
Observe “CPSErrorDomain error 2” instead of the “Open in Safari” notification.
Impact: blocks our NFC use case for regular web links once we scale App Clip experiences.

I use WeatherKit with Swift to get multiple cities weather by longitude and latitude.
But I use this API in WeatherService for daily forecast:
final public func weather<T>(for location: CLLocation, including dataSet: WeatherQuery<T>) async throws -> T
And I found there is something wired: The date of WeatherKit::DayWeather is based on my device's timezone settings.
Tokyo's Day Weather is start at UTC+8, New York' Day Weather is start UTC+8.
Is there any way to set timezone correctly?
Hi, We are working to integrate the Live Caller ID Lookup feature into our app.
After submitting the request form via the link: https://developer.apple.com/contact/request/live-caller-id-lookup/, we received this reply from Apple:
Apple’s OHTTP relay has been configured to talk to your OHTTP gateway. Now Live Caller ID Lookup should work for your application extension when distributed through App Store.
However, before officially releasing our app on the App Store, we’d like to make sure the Live Caller ID Lookup feature is working as expected.
To test this, we uploaded the app to TestFlight, and it successfully passed App Review.
However, the test failed — we observed that the system tries to fetch the config from http://www.example.com/config instead of our actual configuration URL.
Questions:
Is this expected behavior when using TestFlight?
Does the Live Caller ID Lookup feature only become active after full public release on the App Store?
Is there any recommended way to test this feature before public release?
Thank you!
Hi,
I have a question about On-Demand Resources, I tried to put some bundles into the Initial Install Tags and Download Only On Demand, and I uploaded the build to TestFlight, then I tried to make 2 builds, and the sample is like this:
Build A:
Initial Install Tags have 100 Tags.
Download Only On Demand have 5 Tags.
Build B:
all contents of Initial Install Tags are the same as in Build A.
Download Only On Demand are the same as Build A but I added 5 more tags, so the total is 10 tags, 5 tags that are the same as Build A and 5 new tags.
Then I tried to download Build A for the first time which is in TestFlight, and it runs normally, Initial Install Tags are downloaded when the main app is downloaded and Download Only On Demand is downloaded when I request the tag.
However, when I tried to update to Build B which is in TestFlight, why are the Initial Install Tags deleted? and why should it be downloaded via request? not when the main app is downloaded? has anyone ever experienced something like this?
Thanks!
