We attempted to perform automated testing (using Python) on an 11th generation iPad (iPad A16) using Selenium 4.38.0, but we were unable to capture webpage screenshots using the function "driver.save_screenshot(filename)". However, this issue did not occur on an iPad Air 4. During our debugging of the "WebDriver.py" script, we found that after issuing the screenshot command, a status value of 500 was returned, accompanied by an "unknown error". We have communicated with the Selenium team and provided the main Python code(https://github.com/SeleniumHQ/selenium/issues/16555). They suggested that the problem likely lies within the SafariWebDriver, rather than in the "remote_webdriver.py" file. Additionally, we tried using the SafariWebDriver provided by Safari Technology Preview, but the problem persisted.

I have a website I’m working on that uses WordPress and element mentor pro. Basically everything is custom HTML in individual containers and custom CSS for each page. The problem that I’m running into is there needs to be a pop-up and the easiest way to do that is just use the element or proper pop-ups however, the overlay is not extending into the safe areas on the bottom or top notch. I’ve been trying to figure out a way to fix this, and I cannot get it to work. I’ve tried having CSS in every imaginable way to get it to extend the overlay.. The other issue is for this website there is no header. It’s just a container that’s the hero content and for some reason that also will not extend into the top-notch safe area. It extends to the bottom notch just fine but not the top notch and there’s just a white bar there where I prefer it be the background gradient that I have set up for the hero however, nothing I do will get it to push into that top notch safe area either. Hoping someone else had this issue and can help me out

After the first installation (out of AppStore) of the extension in the browser, the content script is correctly inserted into the page (twice for some reason) and a message is sent from the root of the content script to the background script, which responds correctly. The event handler is used so that the extension code is uniform for all browsers (Chrome, Safari, Edge, Opera, Firefox), i.e. it is not intended to use externally_connectable for sending messages from the webpage directly to the background script, which Safari should support. The expected behavior is that the extension will work even after the first installation, as is the case with other browsers. When we embed some of the youtube videos are unable to load in the Mobile app but at the same time it works in Website. I need to allow it in both places. I have tried both embed and native sdk for youtube in iOS.

Our team has implemented a video player using the HTML5 tag, but we have identified an issue with loading media files. While Safari on iOS 18.0 downloads each TS file listed in the m3u8 playlist correctly, on iOS 18.4 and 18.5, a single TS file is downloaded repeatedly. Our statistics indicate that approximately six requests are made per second for the same TS file. Is this intended behavior? If not, are there any known workaround or solutions? If this issue is due to the OS or browser, are there any plans to address it in iOS 18.6 or a future release? Could you advise on the proper channel to submit a bug report for this issue? The issue of fixed elements with { bottom: 0 } moving up when scrolling still persists. It seems to be a general issue with the IOS 26 release. It affects other browser too. I tested on browsers such as Safari, Chrome, Firefox, Edge and Bravo. With the exception of Edge, all the others display the behavior. Device: iPhone 15 Pro IOS Version: 26.0.1

We’ve noticed that the ApplePaySession.applePayCapabilities() check has stopped working correctly in Safari over the past couple of days. Behavior observed: 1.) In Safari Private Window, paymentCredentialStatus behaves as expected and case 1 is triggered. 2.) In a normal Safari window, it always triggers case 3 (paymentCredentialsUnavailable), even when the user has active cards provisioned in Wallet. As you see in the image, when I fullscreen in WKWebView, it shows black instead of the webpage in full screen. It works fine in Sequoia. This post is an effort to draw attention to a regression in Tahoe that has a large impact on our app. This bug was filed during seed 3 but remains open: FB18869578: Regression: WebView fails to render fonts registered with CTFontManagerRegisterFontURLs or ATSApplicationFontsPath The gist of it is that WKWebView fails to render text that is styled with a “font-family” that references a font that has been loaded into the app using either the ATSApplicationFontsPath Info.plist key or loaded dynamically with CTFontManagerRegisterFontURLs. The area where the text should be is just blank. There is more detail and a reproducer in the bug referenced above. We really hope this bug can get fixed before GA. Hi! I'm trying to implement ASWebAuthenticationSession to log in to my app via the web app backend. However, I'm a bit confused about the cookies that this has access to. When I set prefersEphemeralWebBrowserSession=false it does not seem to use the cookies from Safari. Or at least, I'm logged into my web app in Safari, but when I use ASWebAuthenticationSession I still have to log in again. Does it not share session cookies with Safari? I did notice that if I don't use an ephemeral session, once I log out and try to log back in my app does automatically log me in but that's actually unhelpful in my opinion because now I have no way to clear that session because it only lives in the ASWebAuthenticationSession context. If that's the case I may as well use the ephemeral session then because it seems to have only drawbacks.

Hi Developers, I am working on a small project and I noticed that my website header looks different in Safari on macOS compared to Windows browsers like Chrome and Edge. The app I work on uses WKWebView to render customer data. In iPadOS 26, we observe that there is a delay when resizing the window (and thus the web view) before the content is re-rendered. The same behavior is visible in Safari. Hey, very strange problem I have on iOS when shared web as an app (pwa) to home screen. Whenever I use it via safari browser on iPhone, it works 100% fine every time. However, when I put it as an app on home screen, first time I open it it works fine, when i close it and reopen again, it just doesnt start recording. I have to restart my phone for it to work.
