PWA works perfectly fine in safari browsers in mac but in mobile devices it
is not working it just shows, There is no internet connection. found a fix from ios release - https://developer.apple.com/documentation/safari-release-notes/safari-17_2-release-notes
but actually it is not solving the issue. in my case even it is not throwing the issue -
fix is - Fixed a cache miss bug in DOMCache that triggered service worker fetch errors. (115740959) (FB13188943)

We would like to confirm the unsubscribe flow related to recurring payment processing.
When a user unsubscribes, does your system send any notification to us?
If no notification is provided, we will not be able to detect the unsubscribe event and will continue to send recurring payment requests to the gateway periodically. Would this cause any issues?
We would appreciate it if you could share the specific unsubscribe flow with us.
Thank you in advance for your support.
<script src="https://js.braintreegateway.com/web/3.92.0/js/client.min.js"></script>
We would appreciate it if you could provide the detailed flow of recurring payments and the unsubscribe process using the Apple Pay JS API, specifically in cases where the PSP decrypts the Apple Pay token before sending it to the payment gateway.
Thank you very much for your kind assistance.
I built a web application using the Apple Pay on the Web Interactive Demo with the Payment Request API, but encountered a few issues:
The initiated web Apple Pay interface shows a spinning circle at the bottom and cannot proceed with payment(Bottom display:正在处理). What could be causing this?
How to set up sandbox testing for payments?
How to asynchronously and synchronously retrieve payment results (backend code to fetch payment results)? The demo only shows frontend code using await response.complete("success"); for retrieving payment results
my demo URL: https://shop.wowseer.com/rsolomakhin/pr/applepay/
We're using the PaymentRequestAPI, and to my surprise I see that if we open the payment dialog then don't interact with it - biometrics to approve or cancel/X button - it sits there open indefinitely.
Is there any way to tell it to only sit there for some limited time period before canceling?
We are experiencing a problem that seems to be caused by a specification changes for Safari.
We would like to discuss how to solve this problem.
Sample JavaScript:
<html>
<head>
<script>
function jumpPage(code) {
document.main.code.value = code;
win1=window.open("","win1","toolbar=no,resizable=yes,menubar=no,scrollbars=yes,status=yes,left=0,top=0");
win1.resizeTo(width=screen.availWidth,height=screen.availHeight);
document.main.action="details";
document.main.target="win1";
document.main.submit();
}
</script>
</head>
<body>
<form name="main" method="post" action="" target="">
<a href="javascript:jumpPage('001')">details</a>
<input type="hidden" name="code" value="">
</body>
</html>
This JavaScript performs the following actions when a link is clicked.
Open a window using window.open in JavaScript
Submit the above opened window by post method to the target in JavaScript.
When this operation is performed, the process in (2) could submit to the
target page with “POST” method before iOS18.1, but
will transition to the page with“GET”method from iOS18.2 onward.
All protocols are http.
This problem does not occur if the URL is specified as an IP address, but it does occur if the host name is specified as.
Please let me know how to use with“POST”method as in iOS 18.2 or earlier.
Best regards,

Steps to Reproduce
1. Create a native UIViewController with a WKWebView, loading test-1.html (contains position:fixed header that displays correctly).
2. Push another UIViewController also with a WKWebView, this time loading test-2.html.
3. In test-2.html, tap into the to summon the on-screen keyboard.
4. Without calling blur(), perform an interactive swipe-back gesture to go back to the first view controller.
5. Observe that the fixed header in test-1.html is now offset downward by approximately the height of the keyboard and does not return to its original position.

Hi all,
I need to detect if my web application (pure HTML / Javascript) is opened from:
Safari from a Mac
Safari from an iPad but by asking for the desktop version
I tried to check for many properties (including the navigator.useragent) but no difference were visible. Anyone could help me?
Thank you
Our app connects to the headend to get a IDP login URL for each connection session, for example: “https://myvpn.ocwa.com/+CSCOE+/saml/sp/login?ctx=3627097090&acsamlcap=v2” and then open embedded webview to load the page. (Note: the value of ctx is session token which changes every time). Quite often the webview shows blank white screen. After user cancel the connection and re-connect, the 2nd time webview loads the content successfully.
The working case logs shows:
didReceiveAuthenticationChallenge is called
decidePolicyForNavigationAction is called twice
didReceiveAuthenticationChallenge is called
decidePolicyForNavigationResponse is called
didReceiveAuthenticationChallenge is called
But the failure case shows:
Filed to terminate process: Error Domain=com.apple.extensionKit.errorDomain Code=18 "(null)" UserInfo={NSUnderlyingError=0x11461c240 {Error Domain=RBSRequestErrorDomain Code=3 "No such process found" UserInfo={NSLocalizedFailureReason=No such process found}}}
didReceiveAuthenticationChallenge is called
decidePolicyForNavigationAction is called
decidePolicyForNavigationResponse is called
If we stop calling evaluateJavaScript code to get userAgent, the blank page happens less frequently. Below is the code we put in makeUIView():
func makeUIView(context: Context) -> WKWebView
{
if let url = URL(string: self.myUrl)
{
let request = URLRequest(url: url)
webview.evaluateJavaScript("navigator.userAgent")
{
result, error in
if let error = error
{
NSLog("evaluateJavaScript Error: \(error)")
}
else
{
let agent = result as! String + " " + self.myUserAgent
webview.customUserAgent = agent
webview.load(request)
}
}
}
return self.webview
}
Found some posts saying call evaluateJavaScript only after WKWebView has finished loading its content. However, it will block us to send the userAgent info via HTTP request. And I don’t think it is the root cause since the problem still occurs with less frequency.
There is no problem to load same web page on Windows desktop and Android devices. The problem only occurs on iOS and macOS which both use WKWebview APIs.
Is there a bug in WKWebview?
Thanks,
Ying
Safari throw a ViewTransition error, called ' Unhandled Promise Rejection: AbortError: Old view transition aborted by new view transition.' however, i don't find how to catch it.
i used 'try..catch' or Promise.catch, or catch it in finished/ready/updateCallbackDone Promise. These all don't work.
正文:大家好,
当设备连接到没有互联网的 Wi-Fi SSID(例如,硬件设备的 AP)时,我看到 NSURLSession(multipathServiceType = NSURLSessionMultipathServiceTypeInteractive)和 WKWebView 之间的行为存在令人费解的差异。
我使用 C API nw_path_monitor来监视nw_path_status_satisfied。

Within installed PWAs, the navigator.language / navigator.languages property return a value, that is not according to the Safari settings and defers from the navigator.language / navigator.languages in the browser itself.
Example: Safari settings set to "German", returns "de-DE" in browser mode, but within the installed webApp it returns "en-GB".
I thought this might be due to the overall phone language settings, but this is not the case. Even is the phone is completely set to German, the navigator returns "en-GB" within an installed PWA.
My phone is also not English/British, there is no reason why "en-GB" should show up.

It seems that in iOS 18.5+ built with Xcode 16.4+, there has been a breaking change since 18.4 with 16.3 within WebKit and how the navigationAction.sourceFrame property is initialized when implementing the decidePolicy delegate method.
The flow goes:
Implement a WKNavigationActionDelegate with decidePolicy
Call WKWebView.loadHTMLString("some-string", baseURL: nil)
Upon loading the HTML content, read the value of navigationAction.sourceFrame within the decidePolicy method of the WKNavigationActionDelegate
On iOS 18.4 (and below) with Xcode 16.3 (and below);
navigationAction.sourceFrame is <uninitialized>
On iOS 18.5+ with Xcode 16.4+:
navigationAction.sourceFrame is already initialized and is equal to navigationAction.targetFrame
It appears that this change was made between minor versions of Xcode and is unexpected behavior of a minor version. Not only was this not called out in the release notes for Xcode 16.4 and iOS 18.5, but it's technically also a breaking change to the WebKit API.
Can we get insight on why this change was made and what Apple's policy is on breaking changes between minor versions of Xcode/iOS?
Hi all!
I have been working on a web speech recognition service using the Web Speech API. This service is intended to work on smartphones, primarily Chrome on Android and Safari (or WebKit WebView) on iOS.
In my specific use case, I need to set the properties continuous = true and interimResults = true. However, I have noticed that interimResults = true does not always work as expected in WebKit.
I understand that this setting should provide fast, native, on-device speech recognition with isFinal = false. However, at times, the recognition becomes throttled and slow, yielding isFinal = true and switching to cloud-based recognition.
To confirm whether the recognition is cloud-based, I tested it by disabling the internet connection before starting speech recognition. In some cases, recognition fails entirely, which suggests that requiresOnDeviceRecognition = false is being applied. (Reference: SFSpeechRecognitionRequest.requiresOnDeviceRecognition)
I believe this is not the expected behavior when setting interimResults = true. I have researched the native services used by the Web Speech API on iOS devices, and the following links seem relevant:
• SFSpeechRecognizer
• SFSpeechRecognitionRequest.shouldReportPartialResults
• SFSpeechRecognizer.supportsOnDeviceRecognition
• Recognizing speech in live audio
• Apple Developer Forums Discussion
I found that setRequiresOnDeviceRecognition and setShouldReportPartialResults appear to be set correctly, but apparently, they do not work as expected:

How can I make a background image take the entire screen in ios26?
I've tried position fixed, sticky, env() css variables but nothing worked. It does it when in PWA mode, but I would like to do so in the browser too.
Hi,
I’m trying to detect whether my Safari Web Extension is running in Safari or Safari Technology Preview. Is there a reliable way to do that?
I can get the executable path of the parent process using proc_pidpath(). However, unlike Chrome or Firefox, Safari extensions run under /sbin/launchd as the parent process, not the responsible process (browser’s binary). In this scenario, I need the executable path of the actual browser process, but I haven’t found a way to get it.
Also, Safari doesn’t implement the Web Extension API’s browser.runtime.getBrowserInfo(), unlike Firefox.
I haven’t tested it yet, but I’m considering checking the user agent string, though I’m not sure how reliable that would be.
Use Case
Some users use my Safari extension as a web development tool and want to enable some features exclusively in Safari Technology Preview, while using other features only in standard Safari. If I could detect which browser is in use, I could provide the appropriate functionality for them.
I have a website that has been built in Wordpress and hosted on wordpress engine. In testing now and on the i phone with safari browser it keeps crashing after short time 2/3 minutes, content does not display properly pages go blank etc. Has anyone experienced this /have a solution? Thanks
Hello Apple Developer Team,
I would love to see iCloud Keychain Autofill and Touch ID support extended to Chromium-based browsers on macOS (such as Ecosia, Brave, or Vivaldi).
Currently, Safari allows autofill of passwords using Touch ID, but when using other browsers, I have to manually copy-paste credentials from Keychain Access, which is time-consuming.
Would it be possible for Apple to provide an API or framework that allows non-WebKit browsers to integrate iCloud Keychain autofill while keeping security intact?
This feature would make macOS more convenient for users who prefer alternative browsers while keeping security standards high.
Thanks in advance for considering this!
Best regards, Kilian
I have compiled some Java code to WebAssembly via TeaVM and wrapped it in a PWA. The resulting code runs nicely in Firefox and Chrome but throws an exception in Safari.
CompileError: WebAssembly.Module doesn't parse at byte 1657: invalid extended GC op 24, in function at index 2251
Can anybody tell me what's wrong with that code? I mean it can't be so bad if Firefox and Chrome can parse and run it without problems. I am using the most recent versions of all browsers and the offending code can be found here:
Run the demo via: https://mpmediasoft.de/demos/Emmentaler/Emmentaler-Demo-TeaVM-Wasm/index.html
The offending wasm file is: https://mpmediasoft.de/demos/Emmentaler/Emmentaler-Demo-TeaVM-Wasm/tvw/ModelBridgeTeaVM.wasm
With Safari the demo just shows some empty space instead of a complex polygon. You can see the error in the javascript console of Safari.
