I’ve been working on ways to implement stricter accountability systems for personal use, especially to prevent access to NSFW content in apps like Reddit and Twitter. The main challenge is that iOS sandboxing and privacy policies block apps from monitoring or interacting with other apps on the system.
While Apple’s focus on privacy is important, there’s a clear need for an opt-in exception for accountability tools. These tools could be allowed enhanced permissions under stricter oversight to help users maintain accountability and integrity without compromising safety.
Here are a few ideas I’ve been thinking about:
1. Vetted Apps with Enhanced Permissions: Allow trusted applications to bypass sandbox restrictions with user consent and close monitoring by Apple.
2. Improved Parental Controls: Add options to send notifications to moderators (like accountability partners) when restrictions are bypassed or disabled.
3. Custom Keyboard or API Access: Provide a framework for limited system-wide text monitoring for specific use cases, again with user consent.
If anyone has ideas for how to address this within current policies—or suggestions for advocating for more flexibility—I’d appreciate the input. I’m curious how others have handled similar challenges or if there are better approaches I haven’t considered.

I'm experiencing an issue with Sign In with Apple integration in my React Native Expo app (Bundle ID: com.anonymous.TuZjemyApp).
Problem Description:
When users attempt to sign in using Sign In with Apple, they successfully complete Face ID/password authentication, but then receive a "Sign-Up not completed" error message. The authentication flow appears to stop at this point and doesn't return the identity token to my app.
Technical Details:
Frontend Implementation:
Using expo-apple-authentication.
Requesting scopes: FULL_NAME and EMAIL
App is properly configured in app.json with:
usesAppleSignIn: true
Entitlement: com.apple.developer.applesignin
Backend Implementation:
Endpoint: POST /api/auth/apple
Using apple-signin-auth package for token verification
Verifying tokens with audience: com.anonymous.TuZjemyApp
Backend creates/updates user accounts based on Apple ID

I'm not sure why the authentication flow stops with "Sign-Up not completed" after successful Face ID verification. The identity token never reaches my app. Could you please help me understand:
What might cause this specific error message?
Are there any additional Apple Developer Portal configurations required?
Could this be related to app capabilities or entitlements?
Is there a specific setup needed for the app to properly receive identity tokens?
I set up provisioning profiles, and added Sign in with Apple as a capability and still it doesn't work.
I modified the system.login.screensaver rule in the authorization database to use "authenticate" instead of "use-login-window-ui" to display a custom authentication plugin view when the screensaver starts or the screen locks.
However, I noticed an issue when the "Require Password after Display is Turned Off" setting is set to 5 minutes in lock screen settings:
If I close my Mac’s lid and reopen it within 5 minutes, my authentication plugin view is displayed as expected.
However, the screen is not in a locked state—the desktop remains accessible, and the black background that typically appears behind the lock screen is missing.
This behavior differs from the default lock screen behavior, where the screen remains fully locked, and the desktop is hidden.
Has anyone encountered this issue before? Is there a way to ensure the screen properly locks when using authenticate in the screensaver rule?
I received Apple’s recent notice about the new requirement to provide a server-to-server notification endpoint when registering or updating a Services ID that uses Sign in with Apple.

We already use Sign in with Apple on our website and app, but only as a login method for pre-registered users, not as a way to create new accounts.
That means users already exist in our system, and Apple login is used only for authentication convenience (similar to linking a social account).
I have some questions about how to properly implement the required server-to-server notifications in this case:
1. email-enabled / email-disabled:
We don’t use or store the email address provided by Apple.
Are we still required to handle these events, or can we safely ignore them if the email is not used in our system?
2. consent-revoked:
We don’t store Apple access or refresh tokens, we use them only during login and discard them immediately.
In this case, do we still need to handle token revocation, or can we simply unlink the Apple login from the user account when receiving this notification?
3. account-delete:
If a user deletes their Apple account, we can unlink the Apple login and remove related Apple data,
but we cannot delete the user’s primary account in our system (since the account exists independently).
Is this acceptable under Apple’s requirements as well?
We want to make sure our implementation aligns with Apple’s policy and privacy requirements, while maintaining consistency with our existing account management system.
If anyone from Apple or other developers who implemented similar logic could provide guidance or share examples, it would be greatly appreciated.

For our iPhone app (App Store build), a small subset of devices report DCAppAttestService.isSupported == false, preventing App Attest from being enabled.
Approx. impact: 0.23% (352/153,791)
iOS observed: Broadly 15.x–18.7 (also saw a few anomalous entries ios/26.0, likely client logging noise)
Device models: Multiple generations (iPhone8–iPhone17); a few iPad7 entries present although the app targets iPhone

In iPhone main app context, what conditions can make isSupported return false on iOS 14+?
Are there known device/iOS cases where temporary false can occur (SEP/TrustChain related)? Any recommended remediation (e.g., DFU restore)?
Could you share logging guidance (Console.app subsystem/keywords) to investigate such cases?
What fallback policy do you recommend when isSupported == false (e.g., SE-backed signature + DeviceCheck + risk rules), and any limitations?

I've come across strange behavior with the userID property on the returned credential from a passkey attestation.
When performing a cross-device passkey assertion between iOS and Android by scanning the generated QR code on my iPhone with an Android device the returned credential object contains an empty userID.
This does not happen when performing an on device or cross-device assertion using two iPhones.
Is this expected behavior, or is there something I'm missing here? I couldn't find any more information on this in the documentation.

Hi,
I have a question about UIDevice identifierForVendor.
I am distributing 3 apps using an enterprise account. All apps use the same developer account and certificates.
The bundle IDs of the apps are as follows:
com.abc.inhouse.mail
com.abc.searchent
com.abc.noteent
In the Enterprise builds, apps 1 and 2 share the same identifierForVendor (IDFV). However, app 3 has a different IDFV value.
According to Apple documentation, the IDFV is determined based on the bundle ID when distributing through Enterprise.
Why does app 3 have a different IDFV?
Are there any other factors besides the bundle ID that affect the IDFV in Enterprise builds?
Please help me figure this out.

Problem Summary
I'm experiencing a persistent invalid-credential error with Apple Sign-In on iOS despite having verified every aspect of the configuration over the past 6 months. The error occurs at the Firebase Authentication level after successfully receiving credentials from Apple.
Error Message: Firebase auth error: invalid-credential - Invalid OAuth response from apple.com. Environment
Platform: iOS (Flutter app)
Firebase Auth: v5.7.0
Sign in with Apple: v6.1.2
Xcode: Latest version with capability enabled
iOS Target: 13.0+
Bundle ID: com.harmonics.orakl
What Actually Happens
✅ Apple Sign-In popup appears
✅ User can authenticate with Apple ID
✅ Apple returns credentials with identityToken
❌ Firebase rejects with invalid-credential error
The error occurs at Firebase level, not Apple level.
What I've Tried
Created a brand new Apple Key (previous key was 6 months old)
Tested with both App ID and Service ID in Firebase
Completely reinstalled CocoaPods dependencies
Verified nonce handling is correct (hashed to Apple, raw to Firebase)
Activated Firebase Hosting and attempted to deploy .well-known file
Checked Cloud Logging (no detailed error messages found)
Disabled and re-enabled Apple Sign-In provider in Firebase
Verified Return URL matches exactly
Waited and retried multiple times over 6 months
Questions
Is the .well-known/apple-developer-domain-association.txt file required? If yes, how should it be generated? Firebase Hosting doesn't auto-generate it.
Could there be a server-side caching/blacklist issue with my domain or Service ID after multiple failed attempts?
Should the Apple Key be linked to the Service ID instead of the App ID? The key shows as linked to Z3NNDZVWMZ.com.harmonics.orakl (the App ID).
Is there any way to get more detailed error logs from Firebase about why it's rejecting the Apple OAuth response?
Could using a custom domain instead of .firebaseapp.com resolve the issue?

The configuration has been reviewed by multiple developers
Error persists across different devices and iOS versions

Hello Apple Developer Community,
We have been experiencing a persistent notification issue in our application, Flowace, after updating to macOS 15 and above. The issue is affecting our customers but does not occur on our internal test machines.
Issue Description
When users share their screen using Flowace, they receive a repetitive system notification stating:
"Flowace has accessed your screen and system audio XX times in the past 30 days. You can manage this in settings."
This pop-up appears approximately every minute, even though screen sharing and audio access work correctly. This behavior was not present in macOS 15.1.1 or earlier versions and appears to be related to recent privacy enhancements in macOS.
Impact on Users
The frequent pop-ups disrupt workflows, making it difficult for users to focus while using screen-sharing features.
No issues are detected in Privacy & Security Settings, where Flowace has the necessary permissions.
The issue is not reproducible on our internal test machines, making troubleshooting difficult.
Our application is enterprise level and works all the time, so technically this pop only comes after a period of not using the app.
Request for Assistance
We would like to understand:
Has anyone else encountered a similar issue in macOS 15+?
Is there official Apple documentation explaining this new privacy behavior?
Are there any interim fixes to suppress or manage these notifications?
What are Apple's prospects regarding this feature in upcoming macOS updates?

I would like to make an app that uses Sign in with Apple to provide the users with a very convenient way of authenticating their (anonymous) identity.
I'm using the identityToken that the SignInWithAppleButton provides to the onCompletion closure to build an AWS Identity Resolver that will be used to access AWS resources for that user. At the moment, everything works fine, except that the identityToken eventually stops working (I think after 24 hours) and is no longer usable for AWS identity resolvers.
Is there a way to refresh the identityToken, or to generate a new one, without user interaction?
I don't mind at all, if in some situations (eg logout from another device, deletion of account, etc), it cannot refresh the token, and it directs me to take further action by giving an error. Most importantly, I don't want the user to be forced to deal with the SignInWithAppleButton every time that they interact with web services.
From the user's point of view, I would like the experience to be that they simply confirm that they agree to use SignInWithApple on first use (maybe once per device), and are never inconvenienced by it again.

starting from Jan 2026 there is change in requirements for account notifications for Sign in with Apple.
Does this apply only to developers based in South Korea or all apps which are avai via the korean App Store?

Hello everyone,
I'm developing a FIDO2 service using the AuthenticationServices framework. I've run into an issue when a user manually deletes a passkey from their password manager.
When this happens, the ASAuthorizationError I get doesn't clearly indicate that the passkey is missing. The error code is 1001, and the localizedDescription is "The operation couldn't be completed. No credentials available for login." The userInfo also contains "NSLocalizedFailureReason": "No credentials available for login."
My concern is that these localized strings will change depending on the user's device language, making it unreliable for me to programmatically check for a "no credentials" scenario.
Is there a more precise way to determine that the user has no passkey, without relying on localized string values?

I'm developing an iOS app that utilizes Universal Links and ASWebAuthenticationSession to deep-link from a website to the app itself. This implementation adheres to the recommendations outlined in RFC 8252, ensuring that the app opening the ASWebAuthenticationSession is the same app that is launched via the Universal Link.
Problem:
While most users can successfully launch the app via Universal Links,a few percent of users experience instances where the app fails to launch, and the user is redirected to the browser.
What I've Tried:
ASWebAuthenticationSession Configuration: I've double-checked the configuration of callbackURLScheme and presentationContextProvider.
Universal Links: Verified the apple-app-site-association file and associated domains entitlement.
Network Conditions: Tested on various network environments (Wi-Fi, cellular) and devices.
Questions:
What are the potential causes for this behavior?
Has anyone else encountered a similar issue and found a solution?
Are there any debugging techniques or ways to generate more detailed logs?
I haven't been able to determine which device or OS version is causing this problem.
