Hi, is it legal to use open APIs to get the users's country country code using the Ip address in the app? I mean I want to know the user country for the game leaderboards data, and there are sites say this is free and open. So, I have two questions, first, is this making the user calling open api to get its country code concept legal? second question, what if these sites suddenly decided that it is not legal to use their apis for commercial use, and i miss that announcement; will you remove my app from the store? or what action will you take exactly?
I am working on a SDK which helps identify the device authenticity. I am in need of something which can confirm the firmware/Hardware/OS is signed by Apple and is authentic. There will be no tempering to device?
I managed to lose my password in a mixup with my password manager. It has taken me a few hours to work out how to reset it. Following the forgotten password link on the sign in page only takes you to a point where you are asked to reset the password on your iCloud user id. If they are one and the same that's ok. Mine aren't.
I eventually found the answer:
in the settings app choose developer
2 scroll to the end and choose the sandbox apple account
3. choose this and reset
Hello. I want to do the following and need your help.
I want to import a certificate (pkcs#12) into my macOS keychain with a setting that prohibits exporting the certificate.
I want to import the certificate (pkcs#12) into my login keychain or system keychain.
I was able to achieve [1] with the help of the following threads, but have the following problems.
https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/677314?answerId=824644022#824644022
how to import into login keychain or system keychain
How to achieve this without using the deprecated API
To import into the login keychain, I could use the “SecKeychainCopyDefault” function instead of the “SecKeychainCopySearchList” function,
However, both of these functions were deprecated APIs.
https://developer.apple.com/documentation/security/seckeychaincopysearchlist(_:)
https://developer.apple.com/documentation/security/seckeychaincopydefault(_:)
I checked the following URL and it seems that using the SecItem API is correct, but I could not figure out how to use it.
https://developer.apple.com/documentation/technotes/tn3137-on-mac-keychains
Is there any way to import them into the login keychain or system keychain without using these deprecated APIs?
Hi,
A certificate imported on macOS 15 using the security command with the "non-exportable" option was imported in an exportable state. I would like to know how to change this certificate to be non-exportable.

Hello Apple Developer Community,
We have been experiencing a persistent notification issue in our application, Flowace, after updating to macOS 15 and above. The issue is affecting our customers but does not occur on our internal test machines.
Issue Description
When users share their screen using Flowace, they receive a repetitive system notification stating:
"Flowace has accessed your screen and system audio XX times in the past 30 days. You can manage this in settings."
This pop-up appears approximately every minute, even though screen sharing and audio access work correctly. This behavior was not present in macOS 15.1.1 or earlier versions and appears to be related to recent privacy enhancements in macOS.
Impact on Users
The frequent pop-ups disrupt workflows, making it difficult for users to focus while using screen-sharing features.
No issues are detected in Privacy & Security Settings, where Flowace has the necessary permissions.
The issue is not reproducible on our internal test machines, making troubleshooting difficult.
Our application is enterprise level and works all the time, so technically this pop only comes after a period of not using the app.
Request for Assistance
We would like to understand:
Has anyone else encountered a similar issue in macOS 15+?
Is there official Apple documentation explaining this new privacy behavior?
Are there any interim fixes to suppress or manage these notifications?
What are Apple's prospects regarding this feature in upcoming macOS updates?
A demonstration of the issue can be seen in the following video: https://youtu.be/njA6mam_Bgw
Any insights, workarounds, or recommendations would be highly appreciated!
Thank you in advance for your help.
Best,
Anuj Patil
Flowace Team
Without developer mode, I was able to get Password AutoFill to work in my SwiftUI app with my local Vapor server using ngrok and adding the Associated Domains capability with the value webcredentials:....ngrok-free.app and the respective apple-app-site-association file on my local server in /.well-known/. (works on device, but not in the simulator).
However, if I use the developer mode (webcredentials:....ngrok-free.app?mode=developer) it only works halfway when running from Xcode: I get asked to save the password, but the saved passwords are not picked up, when I try to login again. Neither on device, nor in the simulator. If I remove the ?mode=developer it seems to work as expected.
Is this by design, or am I missing something?
var body: some View {
...
Section(header: Text("Email")) {
TextField("Email", text: $viewModel.credentials.username)
.textContentType(.username)
.autocapitalization(.none)
.keyboardType(.emailAddress)
}
Section(header: Text("Passwort")) {
SecureField("Passwort", text: $viewModel.credentials.password)
.textContentType(.password)
}
...
}

Our application uses Screen capture KIT API for screen recording.
But from Sequoia OS, we are getting additional permission dialog which states " is requesting to bypass the system private window picker and directly access your screen and audio".
It seems we need to add our app under "System settings -> Privacy & Security -> Remote Desktop" setting to avoid getting above additional dialogue in every few days.
Some places mention use of .plist file that if mention in this file, the app will request for this permission. But did not seem to work or we do not understand that properly yet.
hello,
My organization has an outlook add-in that requires auth into our platform. As Microsoft forces Auth on MacOS to use WKWebView https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/office/dev/add-ins/concepts/browsers-used-by-office-web-add-ins, we are running into a situation that we cannot use passkeys as an auth method as we are unable to trigger WebAuthN flows.
We’ve raised this in Microsoft side but they have deferred to Apple given WKWebView is Safari based.
This is a big blocker for us to achieve a full passwordless future. Has anyone come across this situation?
Thank you.

Step1. Update system.login.screensaver authorizationdb rule to use “authenticate-session-owner-or-admin”( to get old SFAutorizationPluginView at Lock Screen ). Here I will use my custom authorization plugin.
Step 2. Once the rule is in place, logout and login, now click on Apple icon and select “Lock Screen”.
Is there a way programmatically to update the Lock Icon and the test getting displayed on the first Unlock screen? When I write a custom authorisation plug-in, I am getting control of the text fields and any consecutive screen I add from there on. But all I want is to update the lock icon and text fields on 1st unlock display itself. Can you please suggest how I can achieve this? Here is the screenshot with marked areas I am looking control for.
Our service has ended and the app has been removed from the App store.
This app supported Sign in with Apple, but even if I try to revoke the account from the iOS settings or account.apple.com on the web, but can't delete it and no error is displayed.
Does anyone know the cause of this problem or have encountered it?
I'm not sure if it's related, but this app was previously transferred from another organization.
We’ve identified an issue in our app where, upon clicking the "Call Customer Center" button, users are unexpectedly shown a logo and message option on a native pop-up window.
However, this wasn't the case before, and it should only display a phone number to dial, which was given inside our code.
This is incorrect and misleading for our users, as:
We are a Canadian-based service and have no affiliation with US messaging chat.
The messaging feature was never enabled or intended for our app.
Our app should only initiate a phone call to our customer support center — no messages or branding from third parties should appear

I shared network to pc from my phone With usb. I don’t just think it whas a attacker program as Gmail did flag. I think I did get mirror linked on my android and maybe my iphone. Had a real struggle to reset my pc and phones before it worked. My iPhone drains battery like crazy and feels laggy sometimes. A non registered number whas added to two Gmail’s that they did try to change pw multiple times. did notice I Linux pc activity on my fb and some other stuff. My iphone do reboot still sometimes and every second reboot wifi/bluet can’t be activated and mobile share change pw as the original one did look. Next reboot all work and are the same again. Iam scared that iam still hacked or havent removed him from everything. How can I make sure that Iam still not mirror linked and that he or she can’t access anything? Sorry for the long text but iam scared as fuck.

My application is supporting hybrid transport on FIDO2 webAuthn specs to create credential and assertion. And it support legacy passkeys which only mean to save to 1 device and not eligible to backup.
However In my case, if i set the Backup Eligibility and Backup State flag to false, it fails on the completion of the registrationRequest to save the passkey credential within credential extension, the status is false instead of true.
self.extension.completeRegistrationRequest(using: passkeyRegistrationCredential)
The attestation and assertion flow only works when both flags set to true.
Can advice why its must have to set both to true in this case?
Hello,
I've developed a macOS app with an AutoFill Credential Provider extension that functions as a passkey provider. In the registration flow, I want my app to appear as a passkey provider only when specific conditions are met.
Is there a way to inspect the request from the web before the passkey provider selection list is displayed to the user, determine whether my app can handle it, and then use that result to instruct the OS on whether to include my app in the passkey provider selection list?
Alternatively, is there a way to predefine conditions that must be met before my app is offered as a passkey provider in the selection list?
Thanks!

Hi community,
I'm wondering how can I request the permission of "System Audio Recording Only" under the Privacy & Security -> Screen & System Audio Recording via swift?
Did a bunch of search but didn't find good documentation on it.
Tried another approach here https://github.com/insidegui/AudioCap/blob/main/AudioCap/ProcessTap/AudioRecordingPermission.swift which doesn't work very reliably.

I have a very basic binary question around passkeys.
Assuming everything is on latest and greatest version with respect to iOS, when user starts creating a passkey in platform-authenticator i.e., iCloudKeyChain (Apple Password Manager) ,
will iCloudKeyChain create a hardware-bound passkey in secure-enclave i.e., is brand new key-pair created right inside Secure-enclave ?
OR
will the keypair be created in software i.e., software-bound-passkey ?? i.e., software-bound keypair and store the private-key locally in the device encrypted with a key that is of course created in secure-enclave.

Hello,
When using ASWebAuthenticationSession with an HTTPS callback URL (Universal Link), I receive the following error:
Authorization error: The operation couldn't be completed.
Application with identifier jp.xxxx.yyyy.dev is not associated with domain xxxx-example.go.link.
Using HTTPS callbacks requires Associated Domains using the webcredentials service type for xxxx-example.go.link.
I checked Apple’s official documentation but couldn’t find any clear statement that webcredentials is required when using HTTPS callbacks in ASWebAuthenticationSession.
What I’d like to confirm:
Is webcredentials officially required when using HTTPS as a callback URL with ASWebAuthenticationSession?
If so, is there any official documentation or technical note that states this requirement?
Environment
iOS 18.6.2
Xcode 16.4
Any clarification or official references would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

our app is .NET MAUI app so we already addressed this by adding privacyinfo.xcprivacy privacy manifest under platform/ios/resources but still get flagged for this
