I am not able to connect my iPad 10th gen (OS - 18.4.1) with Xcode (OS - 16.3). It is give me error "Failed to find a DDI that can be used to enable DDI services on the device. Usually this means the best DDI we could find for a platform did not have compatible CoreDevice content. Run 'devicectl list preferredDDI' from the command line to get more details on why no valid DDI can be found." I also tried uninstalling and installing Xcode but still the same issue. Please suggest the solution.

How to call API of tested app in UI Testing of Xcode7?
Hi guys, recently I've been investigating new UI Testing in Xcode7. There seems to be limited APIs we can call direct in UI test. Can I include header files and call public API of my tested app in UI Test? so that I can have more flexibility to set my app status before running test. I intent to call API method "-(void)reloadURL:(NSURL *)url" of my app in UI Test, but test failed with "XCTRunner -[_XCTRunnerAppDelegate myAppDelegateUtils]: unrecoginzed selector sent to instance 0x7cf0a992fe10"In Unit Test we can call any API of the tested app, does it support in UI Testing too? I'm a start learner of Xcode and its testing...could anyone help to answer this question? Thanks!

App Suspended during active voip call on Xcode 16
We have started facing an issue after updating Xcode from version 15.2 to 16, we have a voip application with webview and call kit, and we have the Background Modes capabilities: Voip, Audio, Background fetch, and Background processing. devicectl: clarify username requirement for "certain" domains
Hi there, When using devicectl to manage files: It's unclear for which domains the username should be provided It's unclear how to determine the username Listing files USAGE: devicectl device info files [<options>] --device <uuid|ecid|serial_number|udid|name|dns_name> --domain-type <domain-type> FILE OPTIONS: --username <username> The username of the user we should target. Only relevant for certain domains. --domain-type <domain-type> The file service domain. Valid values are: temporary, appDataContainer, appGroupDataContainer, systemCrashLogs. You must specify a valid domain and identifier pair. Certain domains must be accompanied by an identifier that provides additional context. For example, if the domain is an app data container, the identifier is the bundle ID of the app. For temporary directories, the identifier is a unique client-provided string which is used to get your own space, separate from those of other clients. --domain-identifier <domain-identifier> A unique string used to provide additional context to the domain. --username The username of the user we should target. Only relevant for certain domains. In the domains, the username requirements are not mentioned. Copying files USAGE: devicectl device copy to --device <uuid|ecid|serial_number|udid|name|dns_name> --source <source> [--destination <destination>] [--user <user>] --domain-type <domain-type> [--domain-identifier <domain-identifier>] [--remove-existing-content <remove-existing-content>] [--verbose] [--quiet] [--timeout <seconds>] [--json-output <path>] [--log-output <path>] DEVICE OPTIONS: -d, --device <uuid|ecid|serial_number|udid|name|dns_name> The identifier, ECID, serial number, UDID, user-provided name, or DNS name of the device. FILE OPTIONS: --source <source> The item which should be copied. --destination <destination> The location to which the item should be copied. -u, --user <user> The name of the user we should target. --domain-identifier <domain-identifier> A unique string used to provide additional context to the -u, --user The name of the user we should target. Only relevant for certain domains. The "certain domains" are not specified. user vs username The list files command takes: --username <username> The username of the user we should target. Only relevant for certain domains The copy command takes: -u, --user <user> The name of the user we should target. Only relevant for certain domains. Is there a difference between username and user? How do we figure out the user or username? From https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/749649 I learned that about the "mobile" value, but why, and how? It would help if these arguments could be explained in more detail.

Questions about Deployment Targets in Xcode
The “Deployment Targets” for iOS was IOS12 or higher in Xcode15, but is now listed as IOS15 or higher in Xcode16. https://developer.apple.com/support/xcode/ How does this change affect developers and users? For example, if a developer specifies less than iOS15 in the “iOS Deployment Target” on Xcode, how will this affect them? Also, will users under iOS 15 be unable to run the apps?

Any way to automate adding libraries in Xcode from Swift Package Manager (SPM)?
Hi all, I’m looking for a way to automate the process of adding Swift Package dependencies (SPM) into an Xcode project. Right now, I’m doing this manually via: Xcode → Project → Swift Packages → Add Package Dependency... But I’d like to script this step — ideally as part of a CI/CD pipeline or a setup script. I explored the xcodeproj Ruby gem, but it doesn’t support adding SPM packages, and there's no official support for editing the .xcodeproj structure related to Swift Packages. So my question is: Is there any Apple-supported or community-supported way to programmatically add Swift Package dependencies to an Xcode project or workspace? Would love to know if anyone has: Used xcodebuild, xcodegen, or other tools for this Explored editing project files directly (like project.pbxproj or Package.resolved) Found any API or CLI hooks from Apple for this Thanks in advance!

Xcode 16.3 Compile fails
After updating to 16.3, my project now fails to compile with the diagnostic: "Command SwiftCompile failed with a nonzero exit code". This is a SwiftUI document project with two local packages, the second of which is a rather large one with 112 SwiftUI files. It is this second package that is failing. There are no issues when compiling with 16.2. Without diagnostics I'm having a bit of difficulty in determining the cause. My thought is to regress the commits unit 16.3 gives a success, or shows issues. Although I'm not catching a similar issue in the forums, I'm seeing other problems with 16.3. Has anyone else had such build failure isolated to 16.3? Any advice on other ways to approach this problem? Thanks in advance

Why can't I see the version I built on TestFlight
After developing the IOS app using XCode, I https://developer.apple.com/account/resources/identifiers/list Created Identifiers (HanBaoAI) and locally created Certificate SigningRequest.certSigningRequest https://developer.apple.com/account/resources/certificates/list Created Certificates (Expiry Date 2026/04/21) and also created profiles (HanBaoAI, Expires 2026/04/21), and then https://appstoreconnect.apple.com/apps I created an app (HanBaoAI) and uploaded it to the official website using Product Archive in xcode. The upload was successful, but the official website's testflight showed 1 (processing). When I refreshed the page, there was no information in testflight. May I ask what the reason is? How to solve it? Please provide complete and detailed solution steps.

Best strategy to embed multiple dylibs into frameworks
Hi, I compiled Intel Open Image Denoise library for iOS, and obtained a bunch of dependent dylibs. I want to use these ones in a swift project (via bridging as this is C/C++) targeting the iPad. I understand that it is required to embed these dylibs into frameworks as iOS doesn't allow dylib. Is it necessary to generate one framework for each dylib? If so, how are dependencies between the libraries (and their frameworks) managed? Or, is it possible to generate only one framework embeding all the dependencies?

Is it possible to set the Derived Data location differently for different projects?
Within Xcode's settings location section is a drop down menu to switch between setting the derived data location to be default, relative or custom. However its a global setting. I work on more than one project simultaneously, and for one of them I want the location set to relative, but default for all the others. Is there any way of achieving that?

Entitlements Issue: Fonts Provided by Application Still Showing as Missing in Xcode
Hi everyone, I’ve been struggling with an issue related to the com.apple.developer.fonts-provided-by-application entitlement in Xcode. Despite configuring everything correctly, I’m still encountering an error stating that the fonts provided by application are missing. Here’s a breakdown of what I’ve done so far: Entitlements File: My entitlements file includes the com.apple.developer.fonts-provided-by-application key set as an array with 28 font items listed (e.g., Lato-Bold.ttf, Montserrat-SemiBold.ttf, etc.). All font names match the actual filenames, including extensions, and are spelled correctly. Info.plist: I’ve listed all the fonts under the UIAppFonts key, and they match the entries in the entitlements file. Font Files in Xcode: All font files are present in my project and included in Build Phases &gt; Copy Bundle Resources. Provisioning Profile: The Fonts capability is enabled in my App Identifier in the Apple Developer Program, and I’ve regenerated my provisioning profile to ensure it reflects this entitlement. What’s Working: Other entitlements in the entitlements file (like keychain access and sandboxing) are functioning correctly, so the entitlements file is linked properly to my app target. The provisioning profile shows everything else is in sync. What’s Not Working: Xcode consistently shows the error "missing fonts provided by application", even though I’ve verified the fonts, file paths, and plist entries multiple times. Questions: Could this issue be related to the placement of the fonts folder within my project structure? Do I need to remove unused fonts or adjust file extensions (like .ttf vs .otf)? Is there another step I might be missing in Xcode or the Apple Developer Program? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. This has been a challenging problem to resolve, and I’d love to hear from anyone who has encountered something similar.

The result is always unauthorized (either by clicking the dot/cross in the upper left corner or by turning on all Health, on some, off all). WatchOS 开发获取 healthKit 的权限状态authorizationStatus不准。结果始终都是未授权(无论是点击左上角的点叉号还是开启全部健康项开关,开启部分,关闭所有),怎么处理?

TestFlight version of Mac Multiplatform is on the wrong AppStore, but not the iOS TestFlight build
Hello, I'm sure I've probably missed a checkbox somewhere.. I have a mulitiplatform app, when building from Xcode, and not using the testing config, both iOS and macOS show the correct App Store currency.. When I distribute a build through TestFlight, my Mac version shows a different country/currency price (the US one). I can't find anywhere to change this. My Mac is signed into the same sandbox account as my iOS device. Can anyone help?

Why is there virtually nothing in the Editor section for a newly created Xcode project?
I've got several Xcode iOS projects and in the Editor menu section there are dozen's of options, as in the diagram. However if I create a new iOX Project (with Xcode 16.2) look at how sparse the Editor menu is. Why is that, why do they appear for other projects but not for a new one and why are the contents different?

This has been a challenging problem to resolve, and I’d love to hear from anyone who has encountered something similar.

watchOS-Questions about HealthKit privileges
The WatchOS developer is not allowed to obtain healthKit permission status.

Invalid Symlink on Kivy App
I built an app in Python with Kivy and I'm trying to bring it over to iOS. I made an Xcode project out of it that builds successfully, but it fails to install in the simulator or onto a device. There's an error about symlink, but I'm not sure how to fix it. Any advice would be appreciated. Domain: IXUserPresentableErrorDomain Code: 1 Failure Reason: Please try again later.
