Very hard Watch communication after update of Xcode, MacOs, Watch OS ?
I have a swift project with a Watch companion. Since the update of Xcode in 16.3 version after updating MAcOs , Watch OS, iOS to the latest version . It is quasi impossible for me to make Xcode work with my series 10 Watch. I have a lot of alert box, messages in the "device & Simulator" tool like this Previous preparation error: A connection to this device could not be established.; Timed out while attempting to establish tunnel using negotiated network parameters. And many message telling me that Xcode is preparing the Watch , then that it has lost the connexion. I have to wait some minutes after EACH run of the App to test it again. This is very annoying . Some of the alerts I have : And the best to know , is that I can run the APP outside of Xcode , it works, Connects to the iPhone, fetch data and so. the iPhone sees the Watch without and problem. Reboots can solve for a few minutes the problem. But that is not a solution.

XCode reverts CoreData's .xccurrentversion
I am experiencing an issue where XCode reverts .xccurrentversion file in my iOS app to the first version whenever xcodebuild is run or whenever XCode is started. This means I can build the app and run tests in XCode if I discard the reversion .xccurrentversion on XCode start. However, testing on CI is impossible because the version the tests rely on are reverted whenever xcodebuild is run. The commands I run to reproduce the issue ❯ git status Changes not staged for commit: (use "git add <file>..." to update what will be committed) (use "git restore <file>..." to discard changes in working directory) modified: Path/.xccurrentversion no changes added to commit (use "git add" and/or "git commit -a") ❯ git checkout "Path/.xccurrentversion" Updated 1 path from the index ❯ git status nothing to commit, working tree clean ❯ xcodebuild \ -scheme Scheme \ -configuration Configuration \ -sdk iphonesimulator \ -destination 'platform=iOS Simulator,name=iPhone 16 Pro,OS=latest' \ -skipPackagePluginValidation \ -skipMacroValidation \ test > /dev/null # test fails because model version is reverted ❯ git status HEAD detached at pull/249/merge Changes not staged for commit: (use "git add <file>..." to update what will be committed) (use "git restore <file>..." to discard changes in working directory) modified: Path/.xccurrentversion no changes added to commit (use "git add" and/or "git commit -a") I have experienced such issue in 16.3 (16E140) and 16.2 (16C5032a). Similar issues/solutions I have found online are the following. MusicKit failed retrieving tokens on Simulator.
Is anyone else receiving this warning from Xcode when running on the Simulator? "Failed retrieving MusicKit tokens: fetching the developer token is not supported in the simulator when running on this version of macOS; please upgrade your Mac to macOS Ventura." My Mac is already updated to macOS Sequoia, and I'm also running the latest version of Xcode. Feedback: FB17150538

Xcode 16.3 (16E140) - Failed to create simulator [SOLVED]
macOS 15.4 I've just updated Xcode to version 16.3 via the the App Store. The project was previously working fine. After installing all components and Apple Intelligence, I loaded my SwiftUI-based iOS app project. Xcode Preview fails to load, with an error: "Failed to create simulator" == PREVIEW UPDATE ERROR: FailedToCreateDeviceError<SimRuntime>: Failed to create simulator Xcode Previews needs to create simulator devices for running previews Device Type: com.apple.CoreSimulator.SimDeviceType.iPhone-16-Pro Runtime: com.apple.CoreSimulator.SimRuntime.iOS-18-2 ================================== | NSError.com.apple.CoreSimulator.SimError.401: The iOS 18.2 simulator runtime is not available. | | Try reinstalling Xcode or the simulator runtime. | | com.apple.CoreSimulator.SimError (401): | ==NSLocalizedFailureReason: liblaunch_sim.dylib could not be opened I cleaned the build folder, tried again. Same result. When I try to Build the project, I get an immediate error: Failed to find a suitable device for the type IBSimDeviceTypeiPad3x (com.apple.dt.Xcode.IBSimDeviceType.iPad-3x) with runtime iOS 18.4 (18.4 - 22E238) - com.apple.CoreSimulator.SimRuntime.iOS-18-4 (The project does not target iPad. The supported Destinations are iPhone, Mac (Designed for iPhone) and Apple Vision (Designed for iPhone). The minimum deployment target is iOS 18.0 Any help is appreciated, thank you. [SOLVED - restarted Mac again. Errors disappeared. Leaving this here for anyone else who has this issue.]

Latest Xcode build giving multiple system level errors
with the latest Xcode version, i am getting all kinds of errors: few main ones: /Users/akashbhatia/MyApp/ios/Pods/Target Support Files/ReactCodegen/ReactCodegen-prefix.pch:2:9 Could not build module 'UIKit' /Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneSimulator.platform/Developer/SDKs/iPhoneSimulator18.4.sdk/System/Library/Frameworks/CFNetwork.framework/Headers/CFNetwork.h:18:10 Could not build module 'CoreFoundation' /Users/akashbhatia/MyApp/ios/Pods/Headers/Public/RCT-Folly/folly/portability/Config.h:20:10 'folly/folly-config.h' file not found I have reinstalled Xcode, removed derived data, installed pod over and over again, but I have realized from the first error here, that it has more to do with Xcode and React Native now. Any help will be appreciated.

Cannot load a Safari Extension onto my iPhone 15 running iOS 18.4
I'm trying to load a Safari Extension onto my physical iPhone 15 running iOS 18.4 but am seeing the following message: "iOS 18.4 is not installed." When I click the Get button I see that the download has failed with the following error message. I tried updating my laptop to Sequoia and I also deleted and re-installed Xcode but that didn't fix it. Any thoughts? Download failed. Crash in Preview (but not in Simulator) when using fileprivate on a protocol in Swift

Watch Simulator ( Xcode 16.3)
I have an Watch APP and it's iOS APP .. I want to test it via the Simulator. (with my real Watch I have a lot of Xcode error and an open ticket with Apple) Xcode 16.2 associates an Iphone16 to the Series 10 Watch simulated. BUT the Watch is not associeted to the iPhone. WCSession.isSupported is true, but session.isPaired is false on the iPhone. On the Watch : session.isReachable returns false. But in its settings the Simulator shows the Watch. And It is the same problem with another model of Watch in the Simulator.

CLLocationManagerDelegate not working on Siri Intents
I need to elicit the location of the user in the Siri intents and so I call: override init(){ super.init() self.locationManager=CLLocationManager() self.locationManager.delegate = self; self.locationManager.startUpdatingLocation() self.locationManager.requestWhenInUseAuthorization() } Still neither public func locationManagerDidChangeAuthorization(_ manager: CLLocationManager) nor public func locationManager(_ manager: CLLocationManager, didUpdateLocations locations: [CLLocation]) are ever called, notwithstanding the presence of the correct entry in the info.plist, the inclusion of the library and the indication of the delegation with: class IntentHandler: INExtension, INSendMessageIntentHandling, CLLocationManagerDelegate, UISceneDelegate are ever called. Is there any problem with CLLocation manager on intents? What would be a big problem as there is no way to share information with the main app!

Invalid Symlink on Kivy App
I built an app in Python with Kivy and I'm trying to bring it over to iOS. I made an Xcode project out of it that builds successfully, but it fails to install in the simulator or onto a device. Preview on real device without showing the canvas
I am using my real device and the Xcode Preview which works pretty fine. I do not want to show an empty canvas pane all the time. But when hiding the canvas, the preview pauses. I tried the refresh shortkey (OPT + CMD + P), too, while canvas is invisible. Why must the canvas be visible even there is no content besides "Previewing on iPhone from..." Info? I hope there is a workaround to hide the canvas while pushing to real devices.

XcodeKit module not found, but why?
I'm working on a plugin, and that target works just fine. I made another target so I can test some computation functions. It doesn't need much from XcodeKit, just some of the structures. I added XcodeKit and Cocoa, but the import XcodeKit just says "no such module". If I switch to the plugin target, it's just fine. I've compared both schemes, but I don't see difference which would affect finding the framework.

Can't install iOS simulator
Hi, i've been trying to install the latest simulator runtime from Apple and i can't seem to make it work. Watch Simulator ( Xcode 16.3)
I have an Watch APP and it's iOS APP .. I want to test it via the Simulator. (with my real Watch I have a lot of Xcode error and an open ticket with Apple) Xcode 16.2 associates an Iphone16 to the Series 10 Watch simulated. BUT the Watch is not associeted to the iPhone. WCSession.isSupported is true, but session.isPaired is false on the iPhone. On the Watch : session.isReachable returns false. But in its settings the Simulator shows the Watch. And It is the same problem with another model of Watch in the Simulator.

CLLocationManagerDelegate not working on Siri Intents
I need to elicit the location of the user in the Siri intents and so I call: override init(){ super.init() self.locationManager=CLLocationManager() self.locationManager.delegate = self; self.locationManager.startUpdatingLocation() self.locationManager.requestWhenInUseAuthorization() } Still neither public func locationManagerDidChangeAuthorization(_ manager: CLLocationManager) nor public func locationManager(_ manager: CLLocationManager, didUpdateLocations locations: [CLLocation]) are ever called, notwithstanding the presence of the correct entry in the info.plist, the inclusion of the library and the indication of the delegation with: class IntentHandler: INExtension, INSendMessageIntentHandling, CLLocationManagerDelegate, UISceneDelegate are ever called. Is there any problem with CLLocation manager on intents? What would be a big problem as there is no way to share information with the main app!

I built an app in Python with Kivy and I'm trying to bring it over to iOS. I made an Xcode project out of it that builds successfully, but it fails to install in the simulator or onto a device. Preview on real device without showing the canvas
I am using my real device and the Xcode Preview which works pretty fine. I do not want to show an empty canvas pane all the time. But when hiding the canvas, the preview pauses. I tried the refresh shortkey (OPT + CMD + P), too, while canvas is invisible. Why must the canvas be visible even there is no content besides "Previewing on iPhone from..." Info? I hope there is a workaround to hide the canvas while pushing to real devices.

Variable name auto-complete gone from lldb?
Ever since updating to Xcode 16.3, auto-completing variable names in lldb does not work. Is this a known bug? Is there a workaround to get it do auto-complete again?

XcodeKit module not found, but why?
I'm working on a plugin, and that target works just fine. I made another target so I can test some computation functions. It doesn't need much from XcodeKit, just some of the structures. I added XcodeKit and Cocoa, but the import XcodeKit just says "no such module". If I switch to the plugin target, it's just fine. I've compared both schemes, but I don't see difference which would affect finding the framework.

Xcode 16.3, an error is occurring in the String Catalog.
It seems that Xcode gets confused when there is another format specifier before a plural variable. As shown in the screenshot, %#@VARIABLE@ %f works fine, but an error occurs with %f %#@VARIABLE@.

Swift project build process is extremely slow after upgrading to 16.3
For an initial launch of Xcode, the GatherProvisioningInputs usually takes 60 seconds for a simple project. Subsequent build is fast though. But the build process seems got stuck at VeryModule of the MyFramework target, which usually takes 15 seconds.
