Can't Get Past Code Signing Error When Building Flutter App
Hi, I developed a Flutter app that works well in the iOS simulator, but that fails to deploy on my physical iPhone 13 Pro Max. Here is the error I get: Target debug_unpack_ios failed: Exception: Failed to codesign /Users//Library/Developer/Xcode/DerivedData/Runner-/Build/Products/Debug-iphoneos/Flutter.framework/Flutter with identity I've followed all the instructions that I found online, like moving my project from cloud storage to my local hard drive, but nothing has worked. Thank you so much for your help!

Awaiting assistance from a DTS engineer regarding a peculiar notarization issue.
Hello, Our company's software successfully passes the notarization process when exported through Xcode Archive and compressed into a zip file. However, it fails notarization when packaged into a pkg using the Packages software (version 1.2.10), consistently returning the error "The signature of the binary is invalid." We need assistance to resolve this issue. How can I export the "Notary Profile" used by notarytool for CI/CD
Once I have built my macOS .app and signed it I run notarytool using this simple shell script: #!/bin/sh ditto -c -k --keepParent "$1.app" "$1.zip" xcrun notarytool submit "$1.zip" --keychain-profile "Notary Profile for DeepSkyStacker" --wait xcrun stapler staple $1.app rm -f $1.zip How can I export that "keychain-profile" (notary profile) so I can use it in CI/CD actions? Clearly I don't wish to expose the full invocation of xcrun notarytool store-credentials.

Need help with code signing.
My app designer cannot sign his code changes. He says the only way he can sign his code is for me to give him my Admin privileges. I have revoked and recreated my certificate, hoping to get a private passkey, but there was no private passkey issued with the certificate. Help, please?

Apple Certification Expired
Hello everyone. I have a simple doubt, I receive an email informing that the Apple Distribution certificate will expire. I create one new in the Developer portal with one year duration. My doubt is, I need to do something more like open again the app in Xcode, insert new certificate and build it again, send to apple and everything? Or just creating this certification is enough? Is possible to increase this certification time or auto renew? Thank you!!!

"mapped file has no cdhash, completely unsigned?" when cdhash exists
Hi, I have created a conda python environment which I have packaged into a .tar.gz (using conda-pack) and which runs correctly when extracted (in this example, it only contains the scipy package). However, when I sign the necessary files within the environment (i.e. the binaries, the dylibs, the .so files), attempting to load scipy.sparse now fails with the error "mapped file has no cdhash, completely unsigned" about one of the .so files. Furthermore, I believe that this file does in fact have a cdhash. The signing process represented by my example below has been working for about a year, and I am unsure why it has suddenly stopped working. I am on a 2020 MacBook Pro with an i7 processor and running Sequoia 15.1.1. Here is a minimal example showing the creating of the conda environment, codesigning, and the error message. Copy of notarized & exported app will not run
In XCode I create and export a notarized app for "direct distribution". I then create a tar file of the exported .app to distribute to my users. Until today this worked fine. Now when the users try to run the app it pops up a dialog saying "app is damaged and can't be opened. You should move it to the Trash." It is possible to ctrl-click on the app and force it to run but, I think, whether this works or not will depend on system settings and not all users have root access to modify settings. Even simply copying the .app folder from the command line will cause this error.

Definitive Rules for Using Secure Enclave on MacOS
Can someone tell me the applications requirements for using the secure enclave on MacOS? Does the application need to be signed with the secure-enclave entitlement in order to use it? Since this is a restricted entitlement, does my App ID need approval to use it from Apple? Currently I'm building in XCode 16 on Sequoia (15.5) using developer signing. My application is a C/C++ daemon running as plist out of /Library/LaunchDaemons. I have also built it as an application using the instructions here but this has not lead to a solution: https://developer.apple.com/documentation/xcode/signing-a-daemon-with-a-restricted-entitlement/ When I run my application from the command line via sudo signed but without the secure-enclave entitlement enabled in my entitlements file it runs. The first call to: SecAccessControlRef access = SecAccessControlCreateWithFlags( kCFAllocatorDefault, kSecAttrAccessibleWhenUnlockedThisDeviceOnly, kSecAccessControlPrivateKeyUsage, &error); succeeds without error. The call to create the key using: SecKeyRef privateKey = SecKeyCreateRandomKey(attributes, &error); then fails with error: (OSStatus error -50 - Failed to generate keypair) Here are the setup attributes (keySize = 256): CFDictionarySetValue(attributes, kSecAttrKeyType, kSecAttrKeyTypeECSECPrimeRandom); CFDictionarySetValue(attributes, kSecAttrKeySizeInBits, keySize); CFDictionarySetValue(attributes, kSecAttrLabel, keyName); CFDictionarySetValue(attributes, kSecAttrApplicationTag, keyLabel); CFDictionarySetValue(attributes, kSecAttrTokenID, kSecAttrTokenIDSecureEnclave); // Store in the Secure Enclave CFDictionarySetValue(attributes, kSecAttrKeyClass, kSecAttrKeyClassPrivate); CFDictionarySetValue(attributes, kSecAttrAccessControl, access); CFDictionarySetValue(attributes, kSecAttrIsPermanent, kCFBooleanTrue); // persist key across app restarts and reboots CFDictionarySetValue(attributes, kSecAttrCanEncrypt, kCFBooleanTrue); CFDictionarySetValue(attributes, kSecAttrCanDecrypt, kCFBooleanTrue); CFDictionarySetValue(attributes, kSecAttrAccessible, kSecAttrAccessibleWhenUnlockedThisDeviceOnly); CFDictionarySetValue(attributes, kSecReturnPersistentRef, kCFBooleanTrue); When I run the application signed and include the "com.apple.developer.secure-enclave" in my entitlements file it crashes at startup. I believe this is to be expected based on above. How do I proceed such that my application can use the secure enclave correctly?

Not Allowed To Open Rust Binary In Terminal
Hi, I am a long time programmer in C#, and newer to Rust, and a rookie to MacOS 15.1. Over the past few days I have made numerous attempts to run a Rust GUI binary that I compiled on Mac. Here are some examples of things I have tried using. Executable compiled in M1 mac not running on Apple Silicon Mac - help - The Rust Programming Language Forum And here.... How to run unsigned apps in macOS 15.1 Also here... "sudo spctl --master-disable" There are many more that I have tried. I also tried moving the binary from my developer folder to the Application folder and running.... xattr -r -d com.apple.quarantine /Applications/csv Note that "csv" is the name of my binary. You have probably seen this 100 times, so can you point me to me to something that allows my Rust binaries to run under MacOS? PS The Rust program code works just fine under Linux. I can either type Cargo Run and run the binary from the Terminal or go directly to the executable and double click on it to open the GUI application. The only thing that MacOS lets me do it open the GUI from the Terminal. Commander One says that I do not have the proper credentials to open the file directly. Finder also does not allow me to open the binary directly. Thanks, Jim

codesign - edited signature
Hey all! I'm building a Python based app with PySide6-deploy. This gives me a .app directory with all the necessary things already in it. To be able to distribute this I provided just the .app path to the codesign looking like this: codesign -s "My Name" --keychain "keychain" -f --deep RenderRob.app If I try to check or sign the package, it looks promising: codesign --verify ... RenderRob.app: valid on disk RenderRob.app: satisfies its Designated Requirement Unfortunately this signed package does not work when checking with spctl. spctl --assess --verbose RenderRob.app/Contents/MacOS/libcrypto.3.dylib RenderRob.app/Contents/MacOS/libcrypto.3.dylib: rejected If I look in the log of the notarizing, I saw that something is off with signature of the binary dependencies. Then I checked the binary dependencies, it turns out it complains about an edited signature: codesign -dv -verbose=4 RenderRob.app/Contents/MacOS/libcrypto.3.dylib RenderRob.app/Contents/MacOS/libcrypto.3.dylib: edited signature Mach-O thin (arm64) [com.dreisicht.renderrob] I then also tried to move this into RendeRob.app/Contents/Frameworks, but there it's also having the same issue. Any idea what this could be?

Proper Provisiong Profile for Finder Sync Extension
Hi all, I'm developing a simple Finder Sync Extension, using Xcode 16.3. When running in Debug with Xcode, everything works fine. Instead, when compiling in Release and launching the containing app (by double-clicking on it), the Extension is not recognized (neither loaded) by the system. The only difference between Debug and Release stands in Signing configuration: Debug: Release: As you can see, in Release I'm using a Provisiong Profile, configured with my company's Developer ID. I'm wondering if Capabilities and Entitlements are not what is needed by my app. Anyway, I have no idea what the issue is. Any suggestion will be appreciated. Thank you in advance _Alex

No Keychain App anymore
The docs here outline how to create a CSR/ and request a certificate. https://developer.apple.com/help/account/certificates/create-a-certificate-signing-request "Accounts preferences Use Accounts preferences to manage developer account assets (signing certificates and provisioning profiles), add repositories, and add servers. To open Accounts preferences, choose Xcode > Preferences and click Accounts." I have the latest version of XCode, I don't see Preferences / Accounts anywhere? I can go here and create a certificate: https://developer.apple.com/account/resources/certificates/add but it wants a CSR, which loops back around to the XCode thing. So, I can't figure out how to create a singing cert for my iOS app. Launch Keychain Access located in /Applications/Utilities. This doesnt seem to exist in Mac OS Sequoia 15.5 https://developer.apple.com/help/account/certificates/create-a-certificate-signing-request

Unable to edit problematic keychain-access-groups setting of downloaded provisioningprofile for signing
In an expo managed project which utilizes custom expo plugins, we're having trouble getting the keychain-access-groups entitlement inserted to our provisioningprofile for signing. The provisioning profile we download from apple dev portal contains: <key>keychain-access-groups</key> <array> <string>56APMZ7FZY.*</string> <string>com.apple.token</string> </array> and this is not recognized by xcode for signing; an error is thrown: Provisioning profile "ccpp" doesn't include the com.apple.developer.keychain-access-groups entitlement. A matching error is thrown during EAS build. So we need to find a way to modify the ccpp.mobileprovision locally and then sign the build using the modified ccpp.mobileprovision. Or, we need guidance on the proper way to resolve this situation. Questions: why does the downloaded mobileprovision file have the keychain-access-groups key, and not com.apple.developer.keychain-access-groups? Both Xcode and EAS appear to demand the latter keyname. when I use expo prebuild, I am able to see the following in the .entitlements file: <key>com.apple.developer.keychain-access-groups</key> <array> <string>$(AppIdentifierPrefix)com.myapp</string> </array> I am adding this entitlement using a custom expo plugin. However, the mobileprovision file downloaded from apple developer portal has no knowledge of this setting which is only applied through expo prebuild. So what I am left with at the end is an entitlements file generated by my expo prebuild which has the correct setting, and a provisioningprofile downloaded from dev portal with an incorrect setting, and I don't know how to mend the downloaded provisioningprofile (incorrect setting) with my local entitlements file (correct setting).

Notarization taking 12+ hours
I submitted a Mac application for a safari ad blocker extension about 15 hours ago and it's still in progress. Is it normal for notarization to take this long? It's my first time submitting something for notarization so maybe that's why it's taking longer than expected? ID: 8BDB3D5E-3A42-469F-9479-AC76229C6BB5

notary tool consistently delay for 1 of my app even it already accepted multiple times
Hi, I recently got a consistent delay from notary tool. I have viewed all your suggestions and understand that it "occasionally" will have further review and take longer time, but then it will be faster. However, in my case, my app although is accepted many times. It is still significantly delay. It is a native macOS app called ConniePad. Whenever I submit, it took me 2 days or more to finish notarise, which significantly affect my business. Could you please have a look on it. Handling Permissions After Transferring macOS App to a New Developer ID
I have a macOS application that was previously distributed under my personal Apple Developer account using a Developer ID certificate. We’ve recently transitioned distribution to our company’s Apple Developer account. The app’s bundle identifier has been successfully transferred, and I’ve signed a new build of the app using the company’s Developer ID certificate. The app installs and runs correctly under the new signature. However, I’ve encountered a problem: the app is no longer able to access previously granted permissions (e.g., Screen Recording, System Audio Recording, and Input Monitoring). Furthermore, it cannot re-prompt for these permissions because they appear as already granted in System Settings. From what I understand, this issue is due to the change in the code signing identity. Specifically, the designated requirements used by macOS to identify an app have changed, so the system no longer associates the new version of the app with the previously granted permissions (as outlined in Apple's Technical Note TN3127). The only workaround I’ve found so far is to manually reset the app's permissions using Terminal commands (e.g., tccutil reset), but this is not something we can reasonably ask end users to do. Question: Is there a recommended or supported approach to either preserve permissions when changing Developer ID identities, or programmatically trigger a permissions reset for existing users? We're looking for a seamless solution that doesn't degrade user experience.

codesign error - No such file or directory
I'm having a problem with codesign for output from Pyinstaller The files are in ~/PycharmProjects/ALP_Document_Factory_II That folder contains the icon file, the entitlement file, and also contains a "dist" folder where Pyinstaller places the app file (ALP_Document_Factory_II.app) The generated app works and runs when I double click it. When I run codesign: codesign -s xxxxxxxx -f --entitlements entitlements.plist -o runtime dist/ALP_Document_Factory_II.app ("xxxxxxx" is where I place the hash of my credential) I get the following error message: No such file or directory Here is the Terminal copy... minus my Hash dickl45@Dicks-iMac3 ALP_Document_Factory_II % codesign -s xxxxxxxxxx -f --entitlements entitlements.plist -o runtime dist/ALP_Document_Factory_II.app dist/ALP_Document_Factory_II.app: No such file or directory Earlier I was able to use codesign and notarytool, but I must be doing something wrong that I can't see. Yours baffled MacOs 15.2
