Terminal shows 0 identities found
Im trying to compile a free app from GitHub for personal use but i cant sign it since everytime im getting the same error "0 identities found". I have added my Apple ID to Xcode accounts, but in manage certificates, it shows "status not in keychain". On keychain access > login, it doesn’t show any Apple dev certificate obviously, and when I run security find-identity in terminal, I get a 0 identities found, 0 valid identities found. I don’t know where to begin, every tutorial I find requires downloading a certificate from Apples Dev website but my account is a free developer, not paid. A few months ago I was able to compile this same app so I know I don’t need a paid dev account. Any help appreciated.

Missing com.apple.developer.voip-push-notification Entitlement in Provisioning Profile
Hello Everyone, I am currently building an app using React Native with Swift bridging, integrating VoIP functionality using Twilio, PushKit, and CallKit. I am encountering the following issue during development: "The current provisioning profile doesn't include the com.apple.developer.voip-push-notification entitlement." What I’ve Done So Far: VoIP Certificate: I have created a valid VoIP Services certificate in the Apple Developer portal. Bundle Identifier and Provisioning Profile: A new Bundle ID was created specifically for this app. I created a provisioning profile for this Bundle ID and downloaded it for use in Xcode. Xcode Capabilities Push Notifications: Enabled Background Modes: Voice over IP: Enabled, Remote notifications: Enabled Entitlements File I have an entitlements file named VoiceCallDemoProjectRelease.entitlements with the following content: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>aps-environment</key> <string>development</string> <key>com.apple.developer.voip-push-notification</key> <true/> </dict> </plist> This entitlements file is properly linked in the project’s build settings. Project Setup I have integrated PushKit for VoIP push handling and CallKit for incoming call UI and control. Problem: In the Apple Developer portal under my App ID settings, I only see an option to enable Push Notifications. There is no option available to enable Voice over IP, and therefore the provisioning profile generated does not include the com.apple.developer.voip-push-notification entitlement. Despite enabling VoIP background mode in Xcode, adding the entitlement in my project, and using a valid VoIP certificate, the profile does not include the required entitlement. Additional Information: I am using an Individual Apple Developer Account, not an Organization account. I have already attempted re-downloading the provisioning profile, restarting Xcode, and cleaning the build folder. Question: What steps should I take to resolve this and ensure that the com.apple.developer.voip-push-notification entitlement is included in my provisioning profile? Is this limitation due to the type of developer account (individual vs. organization), and do I need to upgrade to an Organization account to access this entitlement? Is there any way to request for 'com.appple.developer.voip-push-notification' entitlement to Apple Team ? Any clarification would be appreciated. Thank you.

Notarization of Electron MacOS App taking too long
I started the notarization process for my electron app (just a browser window loading a URL) yesterday (26/03/2025) at around 05:23 GMT. I noticed in a couple of posts here in the forum that it may sometimes take a day to notarize the first app submitted by a team, but it has been over 30 hours since I submitted the app for notarization Here's the log. createdDate: 2025-03-26T05:23:11.102Z id: ddcb3fca-4667-4acb-8fd1-3298a7c244cc name: xolock-browser.zip status: In Progress Is there any reason why it is taking so long? Thanks in advance!

Notarization Stuck "In Progress"
Hello Colleagues, We have been seeing a delay in our Apple notarization submission that hangs for hours "in progress" without completing: This issue has been occurring since Friday, October 17th. We have also checked the Apple System Status page and there is no indication of any outage for Apple notarization.

Code Signing, Certificates and Profiles for Notarisation
I keep having issues with my account. I have certificates that will not revoke. I create new certificates, then I create new profiles for development, distribution and for developer ID application distribution outside of the app store as well. With my app in Xcode, I can only get the Developer profile to work to allow builds. My distribution profile builds and then fails, with an error 5. The Developer ID Application profile will not even accept the profile in XCode, sighting that there is no code signing, yet I have checked things over and over again. Ontop of this, I had developers in the past in my team and they added a whole lot of certificates for Developer ID that I just cannot use now. I also cannot revoke them. I have no active apps on the app store now, so I was wondering if Apple or someone can assist me in removing ALL the certificates, all the profiles and get a clean slate, so that I can setup everything from scratch again, because I have lost countless of hours getting nowhere and I cannot get Apple support to assist? Anyone been through this before?

Notarization Stuck for Signed .pkg Containing Screen Saver
Hey all, I’m experiencing a consistent issue with notarizing a signed .pkg file that contains a macOS screen saver (.saver) bundle. Nothing online so far except 1 thread on the form from the altool time pre-2023 so i thought it worth another update. Here is what I did: I signed the .saver bundle using my Developer ID Application certificate. I packaged it into a .pkg using pkgbuild with my Developer ID Installer certificate: I submitted the resulting .pkg via xcrun notarytool: xcrun notarytool submit saver-name.pkg --apple-id email@email.com --password [app-specific-password] --team-id xxxxxxxxx The submission appears to be accepted and uploads successfully. However, the notarization status remains stuck at “In Progress” for hours (over 12h), with no update. I also tried: Repackaging the .pkg with a new name using a zip Resubmitting it under a new submission ID All attempts are stuck in the same “In Progress” state indefinitely. Did anyone solve this yet?

Wrong Team ID on Certificate problem.
Hello, first of all thanks for reading my post. I am having a trouble about Signing & Capabilities part on Xcode during few days. Hope someone knows how to deal with this. I created a Apple Development certificate with CSR on my MacOS through KeyChain but the Team ID(VC78G4S77J) on this certificate is different with my real Team ID(FYF9AT8ZA8) logged in. I don't even know where this 'VC78G4S77J' came from. Also I created the identifier, bundle ID, device and profile but they were all created with 'FYF9AT8ZA8'. So here is the problem. On Xcode Signing & Capabilities section, I selected Team and put Bundle Identifier connected with 'FYF9AT8ZA8' but Signing Certificate is shown as 'Apple Development: My ID (VC78G4S77J). Therefore when I build iOS simulator on Xcode or VScode, there is error 'No signing certificate "iOS Development" found: No "iOS Development" signing certificate matching team ID "FYF9AT8ZA8" with a private key was found.' If I try turn off 'Automatically manage signing' and select provisioning profile I created, Xcode said my profile does not include VC78G4S77J certificate, because my profile has FYF9AT8ZA8 certificate. Importing profile file is not helpful also. I think, first delete the all VC78G4S77J certificate in KeyChain and recreate FYF9AT8ZA8 certificate through KeyChain/CSR, however again VC78G4S77J certicate was created when I created on 'developer.apple.com'. I truly have no idea where did VC78G4S77J come from. Please let me solve this issue.. Warm regards.

Mismatch of TeamID while creating development certificate
Hi Team, I have created multiple certificates for macOS application. Below are the certificates created- Apple Development Certificate DeveloperID Installer Certificate Apple Distribution Certificate others certificates Later, I have imported the all these above certificates in keychain-access. Now, I tried to compile the code through Xcode. I am getting error for code signing certificate. Warning: unable to build chain to self-signed root for signer "Apple Development: Amit (M2WMF2YERI)” .... Command CodeSign failed with a nonzero exit code When I checked the TeamID of User(Amit) I can see that his current TeamID is [P8ZW3W9R2Q]. There is mismatch of teamID in apple development certificate generation. Note- All certificates are generated with current TeamID[P8ZW3W9R2Q] of user (Amit) except Apple Development certificate which has been generated with TeamID [M2WMF2YERI] which is generated with old TeamID of user (Amit). I attempted to generate the apple development certificate multiple times but it is getting generated with old TeamID TeamID[M2WMF2YERI] of user(Amit)
Summary- While creating a developer certificate using apple developer account and mapping it in keychain, the certificate is being generated with old apple account details (Inactive) instead of the current one. This is causing issues when using the certificate in keychain. If anyone has encountered this issue, how it was resolved?

App Notarization stuck “In Progress” for 4+ days — possible due to Notarization service outage?
Hi everyone, My app notarization has been stuck in the “In Progress” state for the past 4 days. Here are the details: createdDate: 2025-10-12T07:56:46.228Z id: 8f8c9a33-1c72-489e-a189-74c797a12fbc name: DevScribe.zip status: In Progress I checked the Apple System Status page and noticed that the Developer Notarization service has been showing an outage since October 8th. Could this ongoing outage be the reason my notarization is stuck? Is anyone else experiencing the same issue? Any guidance or workaround would be greatly appreciated.

Notarization taking 12+ hours
I submitted a Mac application for a safari ad blocker extension about 15 hours ago and it's still in progress. Is it normal for notarization to take this long? It's my first time submitting something for notarization so maybe that's why it's taking longer than expected? ID: 8BDB3D5E-3A42-469F-9479-AC76229C6BB5

Codesign in a CI environment (Sequoia)
Can someone please describe what is necessary to perform signing using codesign in a system that runs as LaunchDaemon. All workarounds like placing the codesigning cert + private key a custom keychain and unlock it in the session of the LaunchDaemon doesn't work anymore on Sequoia. Or are there alternatives for signing MachO binaries without codesign?

Unnotarized Developer ID
I'm new to notarizing applications. I'm building an Electron application using electron-packager. The signing looks solid: codesign -vvv --deep --strict path/to/app.app # satisfies its Designated Requirement But checking notarization, looks like it didn't work. spctl --assess -vv path/to/app.app # source=Unnotarized Developer ID # origin=Developer ID Application: Tyson XXXX (XXXXX) I'm wondering how to fix the "Unnotarized Developer ID". Thanks!

Third party SDKs signing requirement and expiration
Hi, I have some doubts about certificates expiration given this "new" requirement around signing for some common third party SDKs: https://developer.apple.com/support/third-party-SDK-requirements/ Use case: I build an SDK that will be distributed as an XCFramework and will be used in AppStore apps from different people. My SDK internally uses some other third party libraries that are integrated as binaries Let's assume some of those third party libraries are from the list above and therefore seem to be required to be signed. I distribute my SDK with all in order (third party SDKs from that list with valid signatures) People using my SDK over the time provide an update to their apps on the AppStore but by then some of the third party libraries of my SDK has an expired certificate. What would happen? People using my SDK won't have any issues as far as my SDK has a valid signature (despite third party libraries from the list have expired signatures) People using my SDK will get a warning about it but still will be able to submit to the AppStore. In that case, would AppStore Review process decline the update? People using my SDK will get an error, not being able to submit to the AppStore and will require me an update version of the SDK with those third party libraries re-signed. My understanding is that all would work as far as my SDK has a valid signature (after all is the one taking responsibility of the code inside), independently of what happens with the signature of those libraries themselves, am I correct?.

How to Share Provisioning Profiles with Customers for macOS App Distribution
I am distributing a macOS application outside the App Store using Developer ID and need to provide provisioning profiles to customers for installation during the package installation process. I have two questions: How can I package and provide the provisioning profile(s) so that the customer can install them easily during the application installation process? Are there any best practices or tools that could simplify this step? In my case, there are multiple provisioning profiles. Should I instruct the customer to install each profile one by one, or is there a way to combine them and have them installed all at once? Any insights, resources, or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Notarization Stuck “In Progress” for Over 32 Hours

I created a distribution certificate for my app release build and have manually loaded this cert (link to xcode image at the bottom of this paragraph).
