Family Control Entitlements not recognized when distributing
I have been approved for family controls entitlements and see them in my apple certificates for my bundle identifier. I see them listed for Distribution in my Runner, however, when I try to distribute I get the error that I do not have the right permissions. Do I need to get the entitlements for each extension I have as well? I have three extensions that use the family controls.

Unable to upload macOS app to AppStore Connect
Hi, We've created a new version of our macOS version of our app, but when I now try to upload the generated .pkg to App Store Connect via Xcode or Transporter we get this error message: ITMS-90286: Invalid code signing entitlements - Your application bundle’s signature contains code signing entitlements that aren’t supported on macOS. Specifically, the “AppIDPrefix.my.bundle.name” value for the com.apple.application-identifier key in “my.bundlename.pkg/Payload/appname.app/Contents/MacOS/appname” isn’t supported. This value should be a string that starts with your Team ID, followed by a dot (“.”), followed by the bundle ID. Setting the code signing to automatic or does not make a difference. Our app has a different App ID Prefix as our Team ID and when I try to upload the app to App Store Connect I get this error message, does anyone know how we can fix this issue? We used to be able to upload the apps without issues.

Xcode failed to provision target. File a bug report...
I do have background Modes added to Xcode. How can I fix this? Automatic signing failed Xcode failed to provision this target. Please file a bug report at https://feedbackassistant.apple.com and include the Update Signing report from the Report navigator. Provisioning profile "iOS Team Provisioning Profile: com.designoverhaul.bladerunner" doesn't include the com.apple.developer.background-modes entitlement. I emailed Dev Support but they said they cant help. Thank you.

Disabling Hardened Runtime For Ad Hoc Signing Only
How can I disable Hardened Runtime in Xcode only when signing ad hoc? If I make a new project, Xcode will say Disabling hardened runtime with ad-hoc codesigning. at the beginning of the build logs. However, somehow my project isn't doing this -- it's still hardening the runtime when ad-hoc signing. What should I do to debug this?

Inquiry about CarPlay Entitlements Application - Black Box Integration for Device Settings & Communication - No Response After 7 Days
Hi everyone, I applied for CarPlay Entitlements on [Date 04. 26, 2024] using CarPlay is Case ID "13045151". I haven't received any updates or responses regarding my application yet. It's been 7 days since the application. My service requires CarPlay integration with a Black Box device. The primary purpose of this integration is to allow users to configure device settings through CarPlay. Furthermore, we plan to utilize the "Communication" category of Entitlements to notify users of parking incidents detected by the Black Box device while parked. This functionality is crucial for alerting drivers to potential issues affecting their vehicles. Could anyone share their experience with the typical turnaround time for CarPlay Entitlements, especially for applications involving device integration and the "Communication" category? Is this delay normal? Is there any way to check the application status or contact the appropriate team to inquire about its progress? Thank you for any insights or advice you can provide! Sincerely,

Keychain Data Recovery After App ID Prefix Update
We had an issue with IDrive Online Backup which has started discussing on the Developer forum at https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/756904 and as suggested raised a technical support ticket Case-ID: 7747625. At last the old legacy bundle ID prefix changed to to the new Team ID prefix. As a result  one-time loss of keychain data occurs, however we requested and were granted an additional keychain capability that allowed access to keychain data stored under the old legacy prefix, even after transitioning to the new Team ID prefix. We are currently facing a similar challenge with our other application, IBackup. As with the earlier case, we had a mismatch between the App ID prefix and the Team ID, which we resolved by updating the prefix to match the Team ID. Again now encountered a blocker with Keychain data recovery. We have already requested the additional Keychain capability that would allow access to keychain data stored under the old legacy prefix, even after transitioning to the new Team ID prefix. Unfortunately, the team responsible for this has some uncertainty about the process. Please review the details under case 102398017929 and extend this capability to our application to ensure a seamless user experience.

Are VisionOS Enterprise APIs handled differently from one another?
Hi, At work, we've done some development on an Apple Vision Pro. On the project, we used object tracking to track an object in 3D and found the default tracking refresh rate (I believe 5Hz)to be too slow so we applied for enterprise APIs so we could change it. At some point, in the capabilities (as a beginner to Swift and the Apple development environment) I noticed that's where you enable the Object Tracking Parameter Adjustment API and I did so, before hearing back about whether we got access to the enterprise API's and the license file that comes with it. So I setup the re-fresh rate to 30Hz and logged the settings of the ObjectTrackingProvider, showing it was set at 30Hz and felt like it was better than the default when we ran our app. In the Xcode runtime logs, there was no warning or error saying that the license file for the enterprise API was not found (and I don't think we heard back from Apple if they had granted our request or not - even if they did I think the license would be expired by now). Fast forward to today, I was running the sample code of the Main Camera access for VisionOS linked in the official developer documentation and when I ran the project in Xcode, I noticed in the logs that it wanted an enterprise license and that's why it wasn't running as expected in the immersive space. We've since applied for the Enterprise API for Main Camera Access. I'm now confused - did I mistakenly believe the object tracking refresh rate was set to 30Hz but it actually wasn't due to the lack of a license file/being granted access to the enterprise APIs? It seemed to be running as expected without a license file. Is Object tracking Parameter Adjustment API handled with different permissions than Main Camera Access API even though they are both enterprise APIs? This is all for internal development and not planning on distributing an app but I find the behaviour to be confusing between the different enterprise API? Does anyone have more insight as I find the developer notes on the enterprise APIs to be a bit sparse.

Invalid code signing entitlements with app group on macOS
I'm getting this error when uploading a build of my macOS app to App Store Connect. It has always worked before, and nothing changed about my use of app groups, and the iOS build uploaded without any problems. Cleaning the build folder and derived data folder doesn't help. I'm using automatically managed signing in Xcode. Invalid code signing entitlements. Your application bundle’s signature contains code signing entitlements that aren’t supported on macOS. Specifically, the “[group.]” value for the com.apple.security.application-groups key in “.pkg/Payload/.app/Contents/MacOS/” isn’t supported. This value should be a string or an array of strings, where each string is the “group” value or your Team ID, followed by a dot (“.”), followed by the group name. If you're using the “group” prefix, verify that the provisioning profile used to sign the app contains the com.apple.security.application-groups entitlement and its associated value(s).

Endpoint Security entitlement while in dev
I'm working on a system extension leveraging endpoint security entitlement. However, while in development, is there a way to continue working and testing locally without having the endpoint security entitlement approved or needing the extension signed. I got these errors running a build: Provisioning profile "Mac Team Provisioning Profile: "com.xxxxx.extension" doesn't include the com.apple.developer.endpoint-security.client entitlement.

Missing Entitlement. The bundle ... is missing entitlement 'com.apple.developer.networking.networkextension'."
Hello everyone, I'm encountering an issue while trying to publish an app on TestFlight. The app in question is Home Assistant, which I've compiled from the source. I am able to compile and install the app on my device without any problems. My company's developer account is properly configured, and I have set Xcode to automatically manage the provisioning profile. The archive is also created successfully, but when I attempt to upload it to Apple Store Connect for testing via TestFlight, I receive the following error: ERROR: [ContentDelivery.Uploader] Asset validation failed (90525) Missing Entitlement. The bundle 'Home Assistant.app/PlugIns/HomeAssistant-Extensions-PushProvider.appex' is missing entitlement 'com.apple.developer.networking.networkextension'. (ID: ceac6dcc-9c76-412e-8ea7-f2d2845f8013) I've made several attempts to resolve this issue to no avail. For instance, if I add the missing capability manually, then I am informed that the provisioning profile is incorrect. However, checking the network extension settings on my company's dev account, I see nothing related to push notifications, which are located elsewhere. Thus, I am stuck in a loop where either the provisioning file is correct but the entitlement is missing, or if the entitlement is present, then the provisioning profile is deemed incorrect. Tap to Pay Entitlement only for development
Hi, We applied for Tap to Pay on iPhone entitlement and were approved, but on distribution support it's only showing Development. We can build and debug Tap to Pay on development, but unable to build release. We opened ticket with Apple support but they were saying it was configured correctly. I attached screenshot of our developer account entitlement for Tap to Pay. It clearly said Development only.

Finding a Capability’s Distribution Restrictions
Some capabilities include distribution restriction. For example, you might be able to use the capability for day-to-day development but have to get additional approval to publish an app using that capability to the App Store. To tell if a capability has such a restriction: Go to Developer > Account. At the top right, make sure you’re logged in as the right team. Under Certificates, IDs & Profiles, click Identifiers. Find the App ID you’re working with and click it. IMPORTANT Some managed capabilities are granted on a per-App ID basis, so make sure you choose the right App ID here. This brings up the App ID editor. In the Capabilities tab, locate the capability you’re working with. Click the little info (i) button next to the capability. The resulting popover lists the supported platforms and distribution channels for that capability. For example, the following shows that the standard Family Controls (Development) capability, which authorises use of the com.apple.developer.family-controls entitlement, is only enabled for development on iOS and visionOS. In contrast, if you’ve been granted distribution access to this capability, you’ll see a different Family Controls (Distribution) capability. Its popover shows that you can use the capability for App Store Connect and Ad Hoc distribution, as well as day-to-day development, on both iOS and visionOS. In the Family Controls example the development-only capability is available to all developers. However, restrictions like this can apply to initially managed capabilities, that is, managed capabilities where you have to apply to use the capability just to get started with your development. For example, when you apply for the Endpoint Security capability, which authorises use of the com.apple.developer.endpoint-security.client entitlement, it’s typically granted for development only. If you want to distribute a product using that capability, you must re-apply for another capability that authorises Developer ID distribution [1]. Some folks encounter problems like this because their managed capability was incorrectly granted. For example, you might have applied for a managed capability from an Organization team but it was granted as if you were an Enterprise team. In this case the popover will show In House where you’d expect it to show App Store Connect. If you’ve believe that you were granted a managed capability for the wrong distribution channel, contact the folks who granted you that capability. Share and Enjoy — Quinn “The Eskimo!” @ Developer Technical Support @ Apple let myEmail = "eskimo" + "1" + "@" + "apple.com" [1] Endpoint Security clients must use independent distribution; they are not accepted in the Mac App Store. Revision History 2026-03-10 Updated to account for changes on the Apple Developer website. 2022-12-09 First posted.

Provision profile doesn't include com.apple.developer.proximity-reader.payment.acceptance entitlement
Hi, I'm trying to integrate with Tap to Pay feature under Stripe. For this reason i need to add com.apple.developer.proximity-reader.payment.acceptance entitlement to my Identifier. I can see it under Provisioning Profile -> Enabled Capabilities. But after downloading this profile in Xcode I don't see this entitlement. What could be the reason for this discrapency?

User Assigned Device Name, not showing up in User Assigned Device Name
We were recently approved for the "User Assigned Device Name" for a specific app Identifier. The "Additional Capabilities" tab isn't present on that App ID. I am an admin in the developer portal, and this does not appear for the account holder as well. Any help would be appreciated.

Is there an entitlement for screen capture on macOS?
I have a macOS app that captures screen images. The first time I run this application, a dialog is shown directing the user to give my app Screen Recording permission. Is there a way I can trigger this dialog earlier and detect whether the permission was granted?
