Device fails to request mobileconfig after the second reboot, with no access logs in Nginx
We are developing an MDM (Mobile Device Management) solution for device management purposes, and our current implementation process is as follows: 1. Configure DEP profile to obtain profile_uuid We configured a DEP profile with the following parameters to retrieve the profile_uuid: { "allow_pairing": true, "anchor_certs": [], "auto_advance_setup": true, "await_device_configured": false, "configuration_web_url": "", "department": "test define profile", "devices": ["MNWF07QD9M"], "is_mandatory": false, "is_mdm_removable": false, "is_multi_user": false, "is_supervised": true, "language": "zh", "org_magic": "", "profile_name": "Enrollment Profile - MNWF07QD9M", "region": "cn", "skip_setup_items": [ "Accessibility", "ActionButton", "Android", "Appearance", "AppleID", "AppStore", "Biometric", "CameraButton", "DeviceToDeviceMigration", "Diagnostics", "EnableLockdownMode", "FileVault", "iCloudDiagnostics", "iCloudStorage", "iMessageAndFaceTime", "Intelligence", "Keyboard", "MessagingActivationUsingPhoneNumber", "Passcode", "Payment", "Privacy", "Restore", "RestoreCompleted", "Safety", "ScreenTime", "SIMSetup", "Siri", "SoftwareUpdate", "SpokenLanguage", "UpdateCompleted", "WatchMigration", "WebContentFiltering" ], "supervising_host_certs": [], "support_email_address": "", "support_phone_number": "", "url": "https://mdmp.com/mdm/apple/enroll?shopId=1" } We sent a POST request to the /profile endpoint with the above payload, and the response returned the profile_uuid: 605FB5C274303C19189C9B99DCD3280D. 2. Assign the profile We sent a POST request to the /profile/devices endpoint, including the aforementioned profile_uuid and the target devices list in the request body. 3. Scan the device with Apple Configurator 2 We used Apple Configurator 2 to scan and enroll the target device. Issue Encountered After the device restarts twice, it fails to retrieve the mobileconfig file from the URL: https://mdmp.com/mdm/apple/enroll. We are using Nginx as the web server and have enabled access logging, but the logs show no incoming requests from the device to the /mdm/apple/enroll endpoint at all. Could you please help identify where we might have made a mistake in this process?

Issues with "denyAppRemoval" and "denyAppInstallation" being stuck after turned off / uninstall
Hello, according to reports from our users these two ManagedSettingsStore options seem to be stuck in the enabled state even after turning them off or removing screen time permissions and uninstalling the app that configured them. Is this possible? Has anyone seen it? The denyAppRemoval (https://developer.apple.com/documentation/managedsettings/applicationsettings/denyappremoval-swift.property) prevents the user from uninstalling any apps from their device when active. The denyAppInstallation (https://developer.apple.com/documentation/managedsettings/applicationsettings/denyappinstallation-swift.property) "hides" App Store, making it impossible to install any new apps. We haven't been able to replicate it yet. Does anyone know about workarounds when this happens? So far it seems like the only way is to reset the affected device.

When does macOS Device Actually Send BootStrapToken to MDM
Hi Community, The Leverage macOS has with Bootstrap token is immense using the same for Software Updates, Erase Device and new Local Account Creation in System Settings While I refer From IT Deployment Guide Which States the below For a Mac with macOS 10.15.4 or later, when a secure token-enabled user logs in for the first time, macOS generates a bootstrap token and escrows it to a device management service. Is there any way to check if iOS Enterprise App is allowed in devices >= iOS18?
Hello, I'm working in the team with 70 i(Pad)OS test devices running 24/7, and 40 of them are iOS 18 or 26. The problem is: for enterprise apps to be tested (signed with ADEP inhouse profile) the devices over iOS 18 require Enterprise App developers to be allowed at least once with physical control on-device after reboot, which is quite burdensome because we put all the devices in the restricted area, supposed to be used from the remote. Devices are logged into Apple ID for the prevention of Activation Lock but no preparation nor management via MDM over Apple Configurator 2. Is there any binary, tool, app that can check (letting us allow devices for those developers would be even better) if the Enterprise App developer(s) are allowed for the device via terminal or VNC?

SecureToken Generation for AutoAdmin Created via Automated Device Enrollment
Hi Apple Community, We are using Automted Device Enrollment to Enroll macOS Devices and we used to Create AutoAdmin, PrimaryAccount using the Command Account Configuration . As a Part of Primary Account Creation while testing we see that BootStrap Token is Escrowed to MDM, and SecureToken is Created to Primary Account. The Primary Account user will enable FileVault as part of our process. As Tested internally, we seen that SecureToken is escrowed to AutoAdmin only when BootStrapToken is escrowed to MDM By device and AutoAdmin logs in then. That too After FileVault Unlock Since we Sendout the Laptop to users to setup themselves there are no chances of AutoAdmin Login to occur. And it defeats the purpose of having the AutoAdmin Account in emergency situation to login into it from Login Window. Can someone confirm if this behavior is expected and what are the expectation and recommendations from Apple on when to use AutoAdmin Account. Is there any other ways to use AutoAdmin directly from LoginWindow Before To FileVault Disk Unlock

macOS 12.6 LightsOutManagement; address already in use
Hello together, I'm currently trying to implement a simple way to use the new LOM commands for our new mac infrastructure. My MDM sollution is a custom instance of MicroMDM. MDM profiles are working fine, but when I send a https://developer.apple.com/documentation/devicemanagement/lom_device_request_command with any command (Reset, PowerON, PowerOFF), then it doesn't reset/restart/start the target Mac. Host X has a device profile and host Y a controller profile. Host/Mac Y = fe80::YYYY:YYYY:YYYY:8608 Host/Mac X = fe80::XX:XXXX:XXXX:cfab Now, if I send a LOM request for Mac Y to reset Mac X, I get the error "Address already in use" on Mac X (logs via log stream) log stream (private logs) And wireshark on Mac X shows there is traffic, but MacX does not respond to anything, not even tcp syn packages. This error is really weird, because there are no special ports running on that mac and I don't know what Port lightsoutmanagementd tries to listen to. lsof | grep LISTEN | grep -i ipv6 launchd 1 root 7u IPv6 0x457f571ac3303fd7 0t0 TCP *:ssh (LISTEN) launchd 1 root 11u IPv6 0x457f571ac33015d7 0t0 TCP *:rfb (LISTEN) launchd 1 root 27u IPv6 0x457f571ac3303fd7 0t0 TCP *:ssh (LISTEN) lightsout 112 root 4u IPv6 0x457f571ac3302ad7 0t0 TCP *:55555 (LISTEN) kdc 143 root 5u IPv6 0x457f571ac33023d7 0t0 TCP *:kerberos (LISTEN) screensha 403 root fp.u IPv6 0x457f571ac33015d7 0t0 TCP *:rfb (LISTEN) (fileport=0x2103) screensha 403 root 3u IPv6 0x457f571ac33015d7 0t0 TCP *:rfb (LISTEN) ARDAgent 535 devops 9u IPv6 0x457f571ac33031d7 0t0 TCP *:net-assistant (LISTEN) Did anyone have the same problem, or maybe can hint me in the right direction? I currently don't have a clue, what I can do next.

Intune MAM Files app exception
Hi all, I'm implementing Intune MAM to secure applications on iOS. However, I need my users to be able to save files (e.g. attachments in an email in the Outlook app) to iOS Files. To do so, I'm trying to put Files in exception of my Intune MAM policy and I need to obtain the Files "CFBundleURLSchemes" value from the info.plist file of the Files app. I'm not able to get that information. Are any of you able to get that somehow? Thanks!

com.apple.profileRemovalPassword not working (MDM)
Hi. I am writing a little MDM application. Despite the basic task (add a password for 'remove profile' button in settings), it seems I am stuck with a problem: When I try to enroll my device with enrollment.mobileconfig file, Apple Configurator app, I receive an error The profile “Enrollment Profile” could not be installed because it is invalid. Make sure the profile is valid and try installing it again. The original architecture of my .mobileconfig contains of two payloads (com.apple.security.scep , com.apple.mdm), and it works correctly. However, when I try to add a third payload of com.apple.profileRemovalPassword , I receive the error stated above. From logs collected on iPhone, here's what was found : Failed to parse profile data. Error: NSError: Desc : The profile “Enrollment Profile” is invalid. Sugg : A profile containing an MDM payload must be removable. US Desc: The profile “Enrollment Profile” is invalid. US Sugg: A profile containing an MDM payload must be removable. Domain : MCProfileErrorDomain Code : 1000 Type : MCFatalError Params : ( "Enrollment Profile" ) ...Underlying error: NSError: Desc : A profile containing an MDM payload must be removable. US Desc: A profile containing an MDM payload must be removable. Domain : MCProfileErrorDomain Code : 1000 Type : MCFatalError Extra info: { isPrimary = 1; } My main dictionary contains HasRemovalPasscode Also, I have tried playing around with PayloadRemovalDisallowed setting it to true and false, however, I keep getting the same error message. There is also a second error produced: Profile MCConfigurationProfile, version 1: Display Name: “Enrollment Profile” Description : “***” Identifier : *** UUID : *** Organization: *** Is Stub : No Locked : Yes Removal passcode present Encrypted : No Trusted : 0 Signed : No Device Type : 0 Payloads: Payload MCSCEPPayload, version 1 Description : “***” Identifier : *** UUID : *** Type : com.apple.security.scep Display name: *** Organization: *** Payload MCMDMPayload, version 1 Description : “***” Identifier : *** UUID : *** Type : com.apple.mdm Organization: *** Payload MCRemovalPasswordPayload, version 1 Identifier : com.examp Can't parse profile: <decode: missing data> The code for com.apple.profileRemovalPassword is taken from apple documentation (https://developer.apple.com/documentation/devicemanagement/profileremovalpassword) I have also tried the automatic way - creating it from Apple Configurator, so it is correct in terms of syntax 100%. Several important notes: Creating a fresh new profile with just password removal protection single payload allows to perform a download of the profile If I comment out the whole com.apple.mdm payload block, I will be able to download this profile on iPhone also The com.apple.mdm block is also valid by itself, and works correctly I have tried implementing other types of "dummy" payloads - for example com.apple.dock <dict> <key>PayloadType</key> <string>com.apple.dock</string> <key>PayloadVersion</key> <integer>1</integer> <key>PayloadIdentifier</key> <string>com.example.test.dock</string> <key>PayloadUUID</key> <string>22222222-3333-4444-5555-666666666666</string> <key>PersistentApps</key> <array/> </dict> And everything worked out fine. So my hypothetical conclusion out of these four notes might be in some type of interconnection between mdm and profileRemovalPassword, which isn't really listed anywhere? Or am I missing something ? Thank you in advance.

Problems deploying enterprise app (ASDErrorDomain error 854)
We are experiencing a lot of problems deploying an enterprise app for in-house use since late January. All our iPads are managed by an MDM solution. It can take 10 or more attempts to successfully deploy the app. The deployment usually fails with the message "ASDErrorDomain error 854" among other messages. The company providing the MDM solution has no idea what causes this message or what it means. I suspect the error message is not generated by the MDM solutiion but rather gets passed through from iOS. After many attempts the installation may succeed suddenly, though, and the apps works as expected, but this may take weeks. I have not done any changes to my development system. 'I am running XCode 15.3 with SDK version 17.4, the iPads are on iOS 18.3

macOS login issue with federation
We have couple of devices that are registered into Platform SSO, and we have been noticing an issue when the user tried to login. After the users enters the password and hit the return key nothing happens, they need to hit the return key probably 10-15 times in order for the login to happen, the password entered is the correct one and it's just that hitting the return key doesn't invoke the login. On checking the log of the device one unusual thing that we noticed as compared to a different device where the login is working in a single go is that the AppSSOAgent or AppSSODaemon process were not getting invoked

Error install in-house App on iPhone 16e
We are going to replace our iPhone SE to iPhone 16e. The issue is that we are unable to install an in-house app on the new iPhone 16e. The app works on the iPhone SE Both phones run on the same iOS version (18.5) Has anyone else experienced the same issue? I initially thought the iPhone 16e was the successor to the iPhone SE

I would like to work with developers I believe I have rights to share.
Three months ago I molded a mold program. I believe could be tweaked and tried unlined zero code. swear. anyway I would like to scale with some people if I can go to commercial area code phoned series and calls.and if I have rights. but my next moves for them. on iOS I think they should have a seri settings. where they can call seri.on settings, and it jump many codes-and navigation is hard. plus I think seri can help in settings expecially since seri settings is verbal drop. if the words fit or are similar it cues goes to but you have to hard call the switch.so there’s no hey no Sami where you setting no Sammy right I think it could skip cauldron and everything verbally either. Seri settings I think iOS should try it.

The macbook current OS version is 15.5 and it's supervised so looking at this, I assume it should include the Software Update:Enforcement:Specific capability? https://github.com/apple/device-management/blob/release/declarative/declarations/configurations/softwareupdate.enforcement.specific.yaml When I tried sending the payload to the device anyway the valid status is unknown

iOS 18.5 MDM Screen Lock
Hello, I am running into a bit of an issue with the Screen Timeout/Screen Lock setting and would like some clarification on. First for a bit of context, I am enrolling personal iOS devices 18.0+ into the company MDM (Intune) with Account Driven User Enrollment. We are trying to set a screen timeout of 5 minutes and immediately after it asks for the passcode on the device, though this setting is not being applied and the device timeout setting can be set as "Never" on the user's end. This is a big security risk for the company I work for and and the issue with being HIPAA compliant. According to the Microsoft Intune Support, "In iOS 18, when using Account-Driven User Enrollment for BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) scenarios, the screen lock timeout setting is indeed marked as “Not Applicable”. This is because Apple’s privacy-preserving model for personal devices restricts administrative control over system-level settings like screen lock or idle timeout." I am needing clarification on the item mentioned from Microsoft Intune Support and if this setting is no longer able to be applied from the MDM with devices enrolled with Account Driven User Enrollment?

Apps and Books for Organizations API – Reliability Issues, Feature Request, and Rate Limit Clarification
Hi Apple team and community, We’re currently integrating with the Apps and Books for Organizations API as part of our device management solution and would like to highlight a few critical points we've encountered — including a reliability issue, an enhancement suggestion, and a request for clarification on API rate limits. 1. Issue: Intermittent 403 Errors with stoken-authenticated-apps Endpoint We are encountering intermittent 403 Forbidden responses from the stoken-authenticated-apps endpoint. Approximately 30–35% of the requests fail with a 403 status code. These failures are inconsistent — the same request (using the same Content Token and Storefront) may succeed upon retry. All requests are properly authenticated and include the required Cookie and other headers as specified in the API documentation. This issue is impacting our ability to reliably fetch app metadata at scale, particularly in workflows. We’d like to know: Is this a known issue? Could it be due to a rate limit or token misconfiguration? Are any changes required on our end to avoid these failures? 2. Enhancement Request: Include externalVersionId in versionHistory Response The versionHistory extension currently returns: versionString releaseNotes releaseDate However, for Declarative Device Management (DDM) workflows such as App Pinning, we need the externalVersionId as well. Without it, we can't reliably correlate version metadata with the specific version ID required for pinning. Adding externalVersionId would: Enable precise version targeting during App Pinning Improve reliability and automation in managed deployments We request that Apple consider including externalVersionId in the versionHistory response to better support DDM-based app lifecycle management. 3. Rate Limit Clarification We found the following note in the Apps and Books for Organizations API documentation: "The Apps and Books for Organizations API limits the number of requests your app can make using a developer token within a specific period of time. If you exceed this limit, you’ll temporarily receive 429 Too Many Requests error responses for requests that use the token. This error resolves itself shortly after the request rate has reduced." While this confirms that a rate limit is enforced, there is no detailed information about the thresholds — such as the number of allowed requests per minute, hour, or day per developer token. To help us implement proper throttling and retry strategies, we request clarification on the following: What is the exact rate limit threshold per developer token? Are there per-endpoint limits, or is it a global cap for all requests using the token? Does the API return a Retry-After header when the limit is exceeded? What is the recommended backoff strategy for clients to follow when receiving 429 errors? This information would help us implement efficient throttling and error handling logic. Any insights from the Apple team or other developers who’ve encountered these issues would be greatly appreciated!

Apple Business Store testing?
We are moving to Apple Business Store for our b2b customers. On the "residential" apple store side there is testflight. What process would one test an app we provide to a b2b customer when using apple business store publishing? (I don't see any sort of test flight for apple business)

Assign the profile We sent a POST request to the /profile/devices endpoint, including the aforementioned profile_uuid and the target devices list in the request body. 3.

Can't execute Software Update:Enforcement:Specific on ADE Macbook
I have enrolled a macbook through ADE to Apple School Manager and register it to the MDM service. Upon sending the initial DeclarativeManagement payload, the device return the client capabilities as below: "supported-versions": [ "1.0.0" ], "supported-payloads": { "declarations": { "activations": [ "com.apple.activation.simple" ], "assets": [ "com.apple.asset.credential.acme", "com.apple.asset.credential.certificate", "com.apple.asset.credential.identity", "com.apple.asset.credential.scep", "com.apple.asset.credential.userpassword", "com.apple.asset.data", "com.apple.asset.useridentity" ], "configurations": [ "com.apple.configuration.account.caldav", "com.apple.configuration.account.carddav", "com.apple.configuration.account.exchange", "com.apple.configuration.account.google", "com.apple.configuration.account.ldap", "com.apple.configuration.account.mail", "com.apple.configuration.account.subscribed-calendar", "com.apple.configuration.legacy", "com.apple.configuration.legacy.interactive", "com.apple.configuration.management.status-subscriptions", "com.apple.configuration.management.test", "com.apple.configuration.math.settings", "com.apple.configuration.passcode.settings", "com.apple.configuration.safari.extensions.settings", "com.apple.configuration.screensharing.connection", "com.apple.configuration.screensharing.connection.group", "com.apple.configuration.security.certificate", "com.apple.configuration.security.identity", "com.apple.configuration.security.passkey.attestation" ], "management": [ "com.apple.management.organization-info", "com.apple.management.properties", "com.apple.management.server-capabilities" ] }, "status-items": [ "account.list.caldav", "account.list.carddav", "account.list.exchange", "account.list.google", "account.list.ldap", "account.list.mail.incoming", "account.list.mail.outgoing", "account.list.subscribed-calendar", "device.identifier.serial-number", "device.identifier.udid", "device.model.family", "device.model.identifier", "device.model.marketing-name", "device.model.number", "device.operating-system.build-version", "device.operating-system.family", "device.operating-system.marketing-name", "device.operating-system.supplemental.build-version", "device.operating-system.supplemental.extra-version", "device.operating-system.version", "management.client-capabilities", "management.declarations", "screensharing.connection.group.unresolved-connection", "security.certificate.list", "test.array-value", "test.boolean-value", "test.dictionary-value", "test.error-value", "test.integer-value", "test.real-value", "test.string-value" ] }, "supported-features": { } } }, com.apple.configuration.softwareupdate.enforcement.specific couldn't be found.
