I’m testing remote push notifications on macOS, and although notifications are received and displayed correctly, my Notification Service Extension (NSE) never gets invoked.
The extension is properly added as a target in the same app, uses the UNNotificationServiceExtension class, and implements both didReceive(_:withContentHandler:) and serviceExtensionTimeWillExpire(). I’ve also set "mutable-content": 1 in the APNS payload, similar to how it works on iOS — where the same code correctly triggers the NSE. On macOS, however, there’s no sign that the extension process starts or the delegate methods are called.

Despite all correct setup steps, the NSE never triggers on macOS (while working fine on iOS).
Can anyone confirm whether UNNotificationServiceExtension is fully supported for remote notifications on macOS, or if additional configuration or entitlement is needed?

We are encountering the following issue with our VoIP application for iPhone, published on the App Store, and would appreciate your guidance on possible countermeasures.
The VoIP application (callee side) utilizes a Wi-Fi network. The sequence leading to the issue is as follows:
VoIP App (callee): Launches
iPhone (callee): Locks (e.g., by short-pressing the power button)
VoIP App (callee): Transitions to a suspended state
VoIP App (caller): Initiates a VoIP call
VoIP App (callee): Receives a local push notification
VoIP App (callee): Answers the incoming call
VoIP App (callee): Executes performAnswerCallAction()
After this, the VoIP App (callee) uses "NSTimer scheduledTimerWithTimeInterval" to manage internal processing timing. However, the processing sometimes takes longer than the specified waiting time. Specifically, delays of several seconds can occur.
We understood that if the user is interacting with the screen and both the iPhone and the VoIP app are in an active state, the VoIP app's processing would not be delayed. However, can significant delays (several seconds) in application processing still occur even when the iPhone is in an active state (i.e., the user is interacting with the screen)?"
I am using push notification in my app. User token gets properly registered and is sent to server. Notification are also sent by server and recieved on device as expected. The problem occurs when user uninstalls the app. iOS does not provide any option to handle uninstall event. On top of that when server send notification to such device token APNS feedback service sends success message. Meaning APNS sends push notifications to uninstalled app.I have an API to unregister the device on server since no event is triggered I am unable to call it.Please suggest a way out.
We have been getting several reports in the past 2 weeks of APNs notifications being either heavily delayed or not delivered at all.
We have two apps, one of which has a Notification Service Extension and one of which does not. We have had users of both reporting sporadic notification problems.
Looking at the sysdiagnose logs from one example, it looks like the notification was actually processed by our notification extension in a timely fashion, but was not displayed to the user.
An example event we investigated it the following (now perhaps a little long in the tooth):

We think we have correlated this with device logs:

When trying to reproduce, when I saw notifications bannered, the trace I saw was "Got 0 delivered notifications". What's the significance of "Got 1 delivered notifications" in this case?
Historically, SpringBoard logs have shown detailed trace about the handling of notifications (which was very useful in narrowing down the slowness of notifications due to Apple Intelligence, reported on our side as FB16253547, which doesn't seem to have been triaged but it looks like was resolved around iOS 18.2.1 or iOS 18.3); however it seems that now sysdiagnoses are only containing <1 minute of trace from SpringBoard.
Is there any way to extend the trace from SpringBoard that is included in sysdiagnoses?
I see there was also https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/806367 around the same time we started receiving reports. However I think my hypothesis is that this is a client-side issue, and notifications are being delivered to devices, just not presented correctly.
Will try and collect a bit more data and file some Feedbacks and provide them here, but wanted to also flag here in case there are any others experiencing similar.

Question
Let's say the recipient of the app transfer creates a "new SSL certificates, TLS certificates, and authentication tokens."
Afterward, we need to verify that the Apple Push Notification service (APNs) works correctly when combining the transferred app with this "new SSL certificates, TLS certificates, and authentication tokens."
However, until the recipient finishes verifying that it works correctly, the transferor want to keep the app available for download as before and be able to use the Apple Push Notification service. Is this possible?
More specifically, can the recipient test the app to be transferred on TestFlight "before the transfer is completed"?
I want to combine it with the "new SSL certificates, TLS certificates, and authentication tokens." and test it on TestFlight.
Reading "[Initiate an app transfer]," it mentions the existence of a "Pending App Transfer" status.
During this "Pending App Transfer" status, can the recipient test the app on TestFlight?

Hello,
We are facing issue that sometimes a voip notification gets delivered after it is expired. The issue can be simply demonstrated we set the device to flight mode, and after 20s we disable flight mode. We still receive the voip notification.
We are setting the expiration header as following apns-expiry=0, so from my understanding it should not be delivered if the device was not able to receive the notification in the fist attempt.
I have read following thread https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/778512, from which I understand this is a long standing issue.
Hence my question is, is there any way how we can notify the call kit that the call is actually no longer valid, and do not display the call to the user at all?
Currently we are forced to always display CallKit call when the notification comes, and some of our users are confused that they see a missed call which they did not have any chance to pick up.
Please let me know if you need any more information.

For Carplay we implemented siri.

In siri ,When we handle INSearchForMessagesIntent at that time all data getting from Userdefaults because without Userdefaults INSearchForMessagesIntent value nil.
Even we enabled announcement using .allowAnnouncement.
We also tried to save same sender in contact Book because sometime siri search contact and not found then may be raise this type of issue.
So we need code level support for read incoming message in carplay when notification comes.

I’m building a firefighter app that needs to automatically check in a firefighter when they arrive at the station and check them out when they leave — even if the app is killed. We need reliable enter/exit detection, low latency, and only one fixed location per user.
We’re evaluating Region Monitoring, which works in the killed state but may introduce delays and inconsistent accuracy. To ensure mission-critical reliability, we are considering the Location Push Service Extension, since it can fetch precise location on demand and wake the extension even when the app is terminated.
Before requesting the restricted entitlement, we need clarification on Apple’s expectations:
Is Region Monitoring recommended for this fixed-location use case?
Would Apple consider approving the Location Push Service Extension for a public-safety workflow?
What prerequisites do we need before submitting the entitlement request (Always permission, prototype, privacy disclosures, etc.)?
What details should be included in the justification form?

I am creating an app that uses critical messages, I have been granted this entitlement and I am adding the certificate and in the info.plist. In the app I request authorization to send messages to specific numbers. When I try the app in production from Xcode this works fine and I can send the critical messages. However, when I am using the app in the test flight the authorization does not seem to be remembered on the background. Moreover, I go to security/privacy settings and I grant permission to the selected number (I see that it only shows one number even when I have to granted, its like it removes the previous one) however when I exit the setting page the permission is reset (and therefore denied), I think this is a bug. Can you look into that. Both this removing granted permission (HIGH PRIORITY, this message can only be sent in the background, therefore the user can not grant it and why the maximum telephone number to be granted to send messages is reset also to a single one LOWER PRIORITY).

I am looking at a way to get a tap action handler for push notifications on CarPlay such that when a user taps the notification and by default the app opens, but I want to present a CPInformationTemplate with data corresponding to the tapped notification.

I’m getting calls from Pakistan every hour. I cant block them because it’s a different number every time. I have downloaded the new beta version of the upcoming software update and it allows you to set to ask a question before unknown callers ring through. It’s not working and my phone is constantly ringing. I can’t block unknown callers as I use my phone for work. How can I silence ringing from calls specifically from Pakistan Using the country code?

Is there a public method to know when an APNS has appeared on the screen?
wrapping up a very high end photogrammetry app, using the front facing camera and screen illumination-
incoming notifications completely throw off the math.
Ideally, it would be great to turn on Do Not Disturb for the short process, but we’d settle for just the detection of the notification banner.
also: extra credit - programattically adjusting Auto Dimming, and True Tone would be lovely too.
UNNotificationAttachment convenience init method seems to be checking for supported file types based on the extension of the file URL provided as a constructor parameter. This seems to be sub-optimal at best and incorrect at worst.
Is this is a known issue for which a bug already exists?
Hello, we have recently started signing and building our applications using Xcode 16.3. Since we made this change, we’ve noticed that the applications have stopped receiving silent push notifications (content-available: 1) when they are distributed via TestFlight or the App Store, even though we haven’t changed anything in the way these notifications are sent.
As I mentioned, this started happening after migrating our project from Xcode 15 to Xcode 16.3. Regular push notifications are still working as expected, but silent ones are not being received by the apps.
We are desperate because we rely on these silent notifications to inform the apps of updates, and we haven’t been able to identify the root cause of the issue.
We are trying to figure out a strange issue.
Our app has not changed for at least 10 months but my devices and the QA tester device have all stopped receiving push/call notifications for twilio voip
The twilio credential and apple voip services certificate are in date and valid
It is pointing to the correct bundle id and topic (not changed configuration for years)
token passed in to TwilioVoiceSDK.register() is retrieved from PKPushRegistry as per guide
Running locally the Twilio Voice SDK successfully registers and retrieves APNs token
What is interesting is if I log in with exactly the same client account on an iOS 18.5 device (and an older iPad) call notifications work perfectly (I have made sure all focus modes/dnd are off and notification settings are identical)
The only changes myself and QA have made recently is minor iOS 18 version updates - 18.6.2 and 18.7.1
These now receive Invalid device token from APNs when Twilio attempts to create a call/voip notification for the user identity
Our devices sometimes switch environments test/prod so I installed the app cleanly on a borrowed 18.6.2 device and got the exact same issue
We have tested on these devices most of the year with no issues.
I have been in touch with twilio support and added code to explicitly unregister and re register on an affected device to clear any bindings but it didn't help.
Have apple made any changes in PushKit or token behaviour for later versions of iOS 18?

After porting code to Swift 6 (Xcode 16.4), I get a consistent crash (on simulator) when using UNUserNotificationServiceConnection
It seems (searching on the web) that others have met the same issue. Is it a known Swift6 bug ? Or am I misusing UNUserNotification ?
I do not have the crash when compiling on Xcode 26 ß5, which hints at an issue in Xcode 16.4.

As far as I can tell, it seems error is when calling

I had to declare non isolated to solve a compiler error.

I was advised to:
Add 'nonisolated' to 'userNotificationCenter(_:didReceive:withCompletionHandler:)' to make this instance method not isolated to the actor
