AlarmKit alarms do not fire when foregrounded app is in landscape
Hello! When setting an alarm in an AlarmKit app, the alarm will not fire properly/reliably (the alert presentation is not shown) while the device has an app foregrounded in the landscape orientation. This behaviour has been present since the betas, however until the first party Reminders app showed the behaviour in the iOS 26.2 beta I suspected the issue was in my own code. The behaviour is exhibited when scheduling alarms in several AlarmKit apps: The Reminders app The AlarmKit WWDC Demo Project My own AlarmKit app However alarms scheduled by the stock Clock app do not seem to exhibit the behaviour. Minimal repro with first party app: Be using iOS 26.2 beta Open Reminders app Create an urgent reminder for a time in the not too distant future Open Mail.app Change to landscape orientation Wait for the fire time Observe the phone vibrates at the correct time but no alarm is fired Drag the notifications pane down, observe the LiveActivity has been started Change to portrait orientation Observe alarm fires I have noticed this behaviour from the AlarmKit apps mentioned while foregrounding other apps besides Mail, both first and third party: Photos YouTube Netflix The behaviour does not seem to occur when the foregrounded app is restricted to portrait mode, no matter the actual orientation of the device. In the case of my own app I have tried a multitude of ideas to get it to work reliably, getting alarms to fire in landscape is very intermittent at best and most often works after a fresh reboot. Start live activity with push notification problem
Hey there, i implemented live activity in my app and iam trying to start the live activity from push notification, updates works fine even when the app is in background but starting the activity creating issue mostly on background and kill mode when i check the delivery of live activity on cloudkit console it says stored for device power considerations. anyone having the same issue ?

How can notification action buttons' text be center aligned?
The iOS documentation shows notification actions buttons with the text center aligned: https://developer.apple.com/documentation/usernotifications/declaring-your-actionable-notification-types But there's no apparent way for an app to control this. The buttons are controlled and rendered by the system and the text is always left aligned. Is there some way to get the text center aligned?

Clarification on Timing for Critical Alerts Approval in iOS
We are currently planning the development of an iOS healthcare application that will require the use of Critical Alerts. I understand that these notifications bypass Do Not Disturb and Silent mode, and therefore require special entitlement from Apple. We understand that Critical Alerts require a special entitlement from Apple. Could you please clarify: Do we need to request and obtain Apple’s approval for Critical Alerts before we begin development of the app? Or can we apply for this entitlement after we have a working build or prototype ready? We want to ensure compliance and streamline our development process, so any guidance on the appropriate timing for the entitlement request would be greatly appreciated.

Push Live Activity not showing up
This is in an iOS Simulator running iOS 18.2 I send a start live activity push notification from the Push Notifications Console on icloud.developer.apple.com. When checking the console.log output it seems to receive the message, yet the activity does not appear in the dynamic island. (the app is backgrounded when I test this) Can anyone tell me why it's not showing? Starting the same activity from within the app using Swift code works fine. Questions for AlarmKit
We are so interested in AlarmKit which is presented at WWDC25. While we planning our app using AlarmKit, We had a few questions come to mind and were hoping you could provide some clarity. Please excuse the rather long list of questions, as we don't currently have a device available to test these features ourselves. System Actions Related Is there a limit to the number of alarms that can be scheduled using AlarmKit? Are alarms scheduled with AlarmKit persistent across device reboots? When an alarm is dismissed (either by swiping or pressing the power button), can our app detect this action and execute code in response? Can we control the behavior of the physical Lock Screen buttons when an AlarmKit alarm is active, for instance, to trigger a snooze action? Does AlarmKit function correctly during Do Not Disturb or Low Power Mode? What is the expected behavior when an alarm from our app (using AlarmKit) overlaps with an alarm from another app that also uses AlarmKit? Which one is going to get its priority? APNs Notifications Always Failing – 0-Byte Response
Hello, We are currently facing a persistent issue where Apple Push Notifications (APNs) are no longer being delivered to devices. This is not an intermittent problem — push notifications have completely stopped working. We are using PushSharp.Apple (Version 4.0.10.0) to send the notifications. Current Behavior (Failing): Every notification request appears to be processed successfully from the server side. However, the APNs client receives a 0-byte response, and the server closes the connection. Devices do not receive the notifications at all. Logs from Current (Failing) State: APNS-Client[1]: Connected (Batch ID=1) APNS-Client[1]: Sent Batch, waiting for possible response... APNS-Client[1]: Received 0 bytes response... APNS-Client[1]: Server Closed Connection... Status of Action Required: Apple Push Notification Service Server Certificate Update
According to the Apple notification alert received in October 2024, the APNS server certificate update for production is scheduled for February 24, 2025. Has this change been implemented, or is there a platform or method to verify whether this update has been applied in production? If so, where can we check this?"

After uninstalling the app, ManagedSettingsStore.shield is still active — seems to be an Apple system behavior
I’m using the shielding API, my code: let store = ManagedSettingsStore() let whitelist = SharedDefaults.whitelistApplications store.shield.applicationCategories = .all(except: whitelist) And to clear the shield, my code is: store.shield.applications = nil store.shield.applicationCategories = nil The issue: Some users report that after uninstalling my app, the shield is still active, and the UI changes to the default iOS system interface. Even after restarting the device, the apps on the phone remains locked, so the user has no way to remove the shield. Recently I’ve received several complaints on social media and App Store comments, accusing my app of being malicious software. This is not a 100% reproducible bug, but it happens frequently enough. I was also able to reproduce it myself by uninstalling the app during an active lock session. Could Apple engineers please look into this issue and advise how to ensure that once the user uninstalls the app, the device is no longer locked?

getDeliveredNotifications does not return notifications triggered by UNLocationNotificationTrigger
I am trying to retrieve delivered notifications using UNUserNotificationCenter.getDeliveredNotifications(completionHandler:), but I have encountered an issue: Notifications triggered by UNTimeIntervalNotificationTrigger or UNCalendarNotificationTrigger appear in the delivered list. However, notifications triggered by UNLocationNotificationTrigger do not appear in the list. Critical Alerts App for doctors
Hi there, I’m currently working on an app designed for doctors to respond to life-threatening situations in hospitals. The goal is for critical alerts to trigger an alarm, regardless of whether the app is in the foreground or background. The critical alerts entitlement is already set up, but there’s a limitation: I can only attach a 30-second audio file to the notification, as I can’t run code to loop the sound when the app is swiped away. Does anyone have suggestions on how I might approach this problem? Thanks so much in advance!

Clarification on APNs MDM Push Certificate per-customer requirement for MSP/multi-tenant MDM
Hello Apple Developer Community, We’re building an MDM product (SaaS, multi-tenant). I’d like clarification on the APNs MDM push certificate usage model for service providers (MSPs). Question: Is it acceptable for an MDM vendor to use a single APNs MDM push certificate owned by the vendor to manage devices for multiple, independent customer organizations? Or is it required/recommended that each customer (company) must obtain and use its own APNs MDM push certificate (issued under the customer’s Apple ID) for their tenant? Why we’re asking: We understand that many guides show the process where each customer logs into the Apple Push Certificates Portal with their own Apple ID, uploads a CSR provided by the MDM, and then renews yearly. Practically, for a small team and early-stage deployments, using one vendor-owned certificate across multiple tenants would be simpler. We want to ensure we’re not violating any policy, terms, or technical requirements (e.g., certificate ownership, topic binding, device token isolation, audit/compliance expectations). What we need from Apple (or authoritative sources): An official Apple document or policy that clearly states whether per-customer certificates are mandatory vs strongly recommended for MSP/multi-tenant MDMs. If per-customer is mandatory, please point to the relevant clause or section. If a vendor uses a single certificate for multiple organizations, what risks or consequences should we expect (e.g., compliance issues, supportability, potential program violations, off-boarding problems, etc.)? Context: We’re sending only MDM wake notifications (standard MDM flow). We understand certificates expire yearly and must be renewed with the same Apple ID to avoid device re-enrollment. We want to follow Apple’s best practices while keeping early operations manageable. Any guidance, links to official documentation, or clarification from Apple engineers/moderators would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

watchOS Standalone App Notification Settings Not Appearing
I'm having an issue on my standalone watchOS app where the settings to adjust notifications does not appear anywhere on the iPhone or the Watch. I have successfully requested notifications access from the user and have successfully displayed a local notification to them. However, if the user ever decides to revoke my notification access (or if they deny originally and want to change), the settings pane for notifications does not appear anywhere. I've looked in the following places: On the watch in Settings > Notifications, however it looks like you can no longer edit per app notification settings directly on the watch (none of the installed apps on my watch appear in here). The only options are settings like "tap to show full notification" and "announce notifications" which affect all notifications (Why not? Especially for apps that don't have a iPhone companion app?). On the iPhone in the Watch app (the app you set up your watch in), in Watch > Notification. My app does not appear anywhere in there. On the iPhone in the iPhone Settings app, in Settings > Notifications. My app does not appear anywhere in there. On the iPhone in the iPhone Settings app, in Settings > Apps. My app does not appear anywhere in there I've tried: Adding capabilities in Signing & Capabilities for Push Notification, Time-Sensitive Notifications and Communication Notifications Building the app for release instead of debug My app also requires location access and has successfully appeared in the settings pane directly on the watch in Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services, however notification settings do not appear anywhere. I have created a stripped down test app to try and that also does not work. Please can someone with an Apple Watch try this code in a standalone watchOS app and see if the notifications pane appears anywhere for them? I've contacted Apple DTS, but they're taking a while to respond.

LiveActivity start via APNs not working
I am trying to issue the "start" APNs push notification to start a live activity for my iOS app. The notification appears to send correctly, there is no error message, but the live activity never appears for any of my users (users are in TestFlight). In addition to issuing the APNs commands from my server, I have also tried using the CloudKit Push Notification Console to manually generate a "start" notification. It submits correctly but the live activity never starts. I have also checked the Console app to watch the device logs and see if iOS is rejecting/throttling the live activity but I don't see any activity related to the start message at all. Feature Concept: Hands-Free Dismissal of Notifications When the iPhone is in landscape mode, incoming notifications can interrupt the viewing experience. While Focus Mode and swipe gestures help, I thought of a more intuitive and hands-free interaction: using a light puff of air directed toward the screen to dismiss a notification. This interaction could use the microphone or other onboard sensors to detect a brief burst of air, providing a fun and natural way to maintain immersion without touching the device. If this isn’t feasible with current hardware, here are a few alternative concepts that align with the same goal: Blink to Dismiss: Using Face ID sensors to detect a quick blink as a hands-free gesture. Shake to Dismiss: A gentle shake gesture when holding the iPhone in one hand. Gaze-Based Dismissal: Notifications automatically disappear after a brief moment of eye contact.
