I'm working with the Apple Watch's acceleration data and have referred to the document Identify the coordinate axes of the device. According to this document, the X-axis points to the right side of the watch, the Y-axis points towards the top side, and the Z-axis points towards the user. However, when I place the watch on a flat surface and move it horizontally to the right, I observe that the X-axis acceleration is negative. Similarly, when I move the watch vertically upwards, the Y-axis acceleration also shows a negative value. Is this expected behavior, or am I misunderstanding something about the coordinate system or acceleration readings?

Hi, I am developing a Screen Time App and I am having issues with the ShieldConfigurationExtension (ShieldConfigurationDataSource). I know this extensions is sandboxed but I should be able to read data from the main app. I am using SwiftData as my database, but I am unable to initialize it in the extensions with an error indicating insufficient file permissions. I have App Group set up and I am able to share data using UserDefaults but that is just inconvenient. Is there any way I could just open the SwiftData in read only mode so that I could display the user some info on the shield? Is there any way I can get updates when I change CarPlay style settings? I've tried CPSessionConfigurationDelegate.contentStyleChanged and CPTemplateApplicationSceneDelegate.contentStyleDidChange, but they always produce the same result. When I choose: Automatic -> I receive light in case of daylight; Always Dark and Always Show Dark Map toggle on -> dark Always Dark and Always Show Dark Map toggle off -> light. But it seems to be wrong, b/c CarPlay's toolbar is still dark, and I receive light. Is there a way to get a dark style when choosing Always Dark and Always Show Dark Map toggle off? Or at least get updates when the Always Show Dark Map toggle changes?

I've noticed that the Presenter Overlay only appears when capturing the entire screen, but it does not appear when recording a specific window or a region. Is there a way to enable the Presenter Overlay while recording a single window or a defined region, similar to how it works with full-screen capture? I am unsure what to do about this, like my reading of the error is I can't use audio cause I am not connected to a server, but like is it any server, Am I suppose to connect to the voip call before setting up audio, I am not sure how to do that.

I'm using FamilyActivityPicker to get consent for app/category management, which returns a FamilyActivitySelection object. I serialize this FamilyActivitySelection object (just applicationTokens and categoryTokens) and pass it to my DeviceActivityMonitor extension via App Group UserDefaults. I am using the JSON encoder/decoder over PropertyList (though both seem to exhibit the same behavior). After inspecting the FamilyActivitySelection object immediately after it's returned by FamilyActivityPicker in the main app, the application.bundleIdentifier property is consistently nil for every Application object within selection.applications. Similarly, category.localizedDisplayName is nil for ActivityCategory objects. This happens whether "Select All Apps" is used or if apps/categories are selected individually. I understand that this is the intended behavior due to Apple's user privacy policies. I read on another post that my app can be provided with bundle identifiers and app names within Shield Configuration extensions and Device Activity Report extensions - I'm not sure which ones or how exactly to do this. I am aware that I can use Label(applicationToken) SwiftUI view to display the app name/icon, but this doesn't give programmatic access to the bundleIdentifier string. My app will not log or export these bundleIdentifiers outside of its sandbox. My goal is to create mappings to the FamilyActivitySelection with the publicly accessible bundleIdentifiers. Hello, We're facing an issue with app links failing and falling back to browser website journeys. Our apple-app-site-association file is hosted publicly and the app to app journeys have been working correctly up to very recently - we are trying to identify any potential network infra changes that could have impacted the Apple CDN being able to retrieve the apple-app-site-association file. We can see in the iPhone OS logs that the links cannot be verified by the swcd process, and using the app-site-association.cdn-apple.com/a/v1 api via curl can also see the CDN has no record of the AASA file. Due to the traffic being SSL and to a high volume enterprise site it is difficult for use to trace activity through anything other that the source IPs - we cannot filter on user-agent for "AASA-Bot/1.0.0" as breaking the SSL would be impactful due to the load. Is it possible to get a network range used by the Apple CDN to retrieve the AASA file as this would help us identify potential blocking behaviour? Thank you.

Hello, I'm creating an app that stores multiple Date objects: the users selects a date and a time and receives a notification at this time precisely. The problem that happens is after saving a Date, if the device's timezone changes, the Date also changes - and that is not what's I'm expecting (just want the original time as is without depending on timezone). I have inspected the TimeZone properties when I'm building the Date from DateComponents but nothing has worked. Thank you for your answer.

In the documentation for a Message Filter Extension it states: If you have servers that can help your app extension determine how to handle a message, you must add the Associated Domains capability to your Xcode project and specify those domains. (https://developer.apple.com/documentation/sms_and_call_reporting/sms_and_mms_message_filtering/creating_a_message_filter_app_extension) The words servers and domains are in the plural. If it's possible to specify multiple servers/domains for a Message Filter Extension then how is that done? There's no documentation nor reference for that. If multiple domains can be added to the info.plist then what is the iOS behavior in that case? Can the extension supply/change which domain is used at run time?

Hi everyone, We're using the react-native-device-activity package to implement app blocking via Apple's Screen Time API. The blocking functionality works well: when the user selects apps and taps "Done," those apps get blocked as expected. However, we're facing an issue with unblocking apps that the user later unselects. Even after the user unchecks some apps and taps "Done" again, those previously selected (now unselected) apps remain blocked and still show the shield.

My sticker app was rejected when I submitted it to App Store Connect. Reason: "We were unable to locate your stickers in message app after installed your app." When I checked on an iOS18 device, this was correct. Hey, I would love to access the users Contact (ie. the Me Card) Apple recently released the Invites app and within this app you can find the users Contacts Photo. I tried to replicate this behaviour but I currently need to match based on a name or email or something else. So I have been working with the screen time api. however I still cant get it to work to reshield certain apps after a certain time because for example Dispatch Queue just gets terminated after a certain time.
