When importing FBX animations (generated by Cinema 4d or Blender) the models come in very far way and cannot resize or zoomed in. I have tried every setting from both programs to no avail. Is there a secret to providing the right export options? When importing without animations/and rigging the model imports fine and correct size. But once motion is included, something is awry. I also tried changing base units in Converter, but did not work. I have attache my model heirarchy in C4D as well as the imported result. It appears the animation is imported, as I can see it move, but can barely see it :)

Hello,
When testing GameKit "Manage Game Progress" in Xcode 26:
On iOS devices, achievements, leaderboards, and party code data display and work correctly.
On macOS devices, none of these data appear in "Manage Game Progress."
Is this a known issue with macOS GameKit, or is there a limitation compared to iOS?
If it is not a bug, is there any additional configuration needed to make achievements and leaderboards visible on macOS?
I also included the GameKit bundle in my macOS app and enabled Enable Debug Mode in GameKit Configuration in the scheme options.
Thank you.
Now that SceneKit has been marked as soft deprecated, is there a planned date or timeframe when it will be completely removed from iOS? I’m concerned about how long my existing SceneKit-based game will continue to work, especially as an indie developer without the resources for a quick rewrite to RealityKit.
For an app of mine I use CGSetDisplayTransferByTable to adjust the gamma table of the device. Since macOS Tahoe, these modifications are silently ignored. The display's actual gamma curve remains unchanged despite the API reporting successful completion.
I've filed a FB for it a few weeks ago, and would love to figure out what could be causing this.

End goal: to detect 3 lines, and 2 corners accurately. Trying contours but they are a bit off. Is there a way or settings in contours to detect corners and lines more accurately, maybe less an sharper edged/corner contours? Or some other API or methods please?
I would love an email please ;) thank you. 2. also an overlay/scale issue
I have a bare-bones Metal app setup where I attach a CAMetalLayer to a window that inherits from a NSWindow with a custom delegate. Everything else is vanilla. I'm also using metal-cpp and metal shader converter.
I'm running into a issue where the application runs fine in the beginning, but once I resize the window, it starts hitching. It turns out that [CAMetalLayer nextDrawable:] frequently (but not always) takes around a full second (plus or minus a few milliseconds) to return once drawableSize has been updated.
I've tried setting allowsNextDrawableTimeout to false which doesn't work; it returns a valid drawable after a second instead of nil. Setting displaySyncEnabled to false reduces the likelihood of this happening to around 50% from 90%+ but does not eliminate it. Setting maximumDrawableCount to 2 or 3 does not seem to make a difference.
By dumping the resource IDs of the returned textures I've noticed something interesting: Before resizing, the layer seems to shuffle between 2 textures or at least 2 resource IDs, but after resizing it starts to create new textures for each returned drawable. Occasionally it seems to reuse a previous resource ID, but it does not seem to have anything to do with whether the method returns quickly or not.
Why does this happen, and how can I fix it? Should I create a new CAMetalLayer when resizing the window instead of updating drawableSize?
I am extracting a JPEG2000 (JP2) facial image from an NFC passport chip (ISO/IEC 19794-5) and attempting to create a UIImage from it.
On iOS 16, the following code works fine:
import ImageIO
import UIKit
func getUIImage(from imageData: [UInt8]) -> UIImage? {
let data = Data(imageData)
guard let imageSource = CGImageSourceCreateWithData(data as CFData, nil),
let cgImage = CGImageSourceCreateImageAtIndex(imageSource, 0, nil) else {
print("Failed to decode JP2 image!")
return nil
}
return UIImage(cgImage: cgImage)
}
However, on iOS 18, this fails with errors like:
initialize:1415: *** invalid JPEG2000 file ***
makeImagePlus:3752: *** ERROR: 'JP2 ' - failed to create image [-50]
CGImageSourceCreateImageAtIndex: *** ERROR: failed to create image [-59]
Questions:
Did Apple remove or modify JPEG2000 support in iOS 18?
Is there an official workaround for decoding JPEG2000 on iOS 18?
Should I use Vision/Metal/Core Image instead?
Is there a recommended way to convert JPEG2000 to JPEG/PNG before creating a UIImage?
Are there any Apple-provided APIs that maintain backward compatibility for JPEG2000 decoding?
Additional Info:
The UInt8 array has a valid JPEG2000 header (0x00 0x00 0x00 0x0C 6A 50 ...).
The image works on iOS 16 but fails on iOS 18.
Tested on iPhone running iOS 18.0 beta.
Any insights on how to handle JPEG2000 decoding in iOS 18 would be greatly appreciated! 🚀
Hi everyone,
I’m running into an issue with RealityKit when trying to animate BlendShapes (ShapeKeys) while a skeletal animation is playing. The model is a rigged character in .usdz format with both predefined skeletal animations and BlendShapes (exported from Blender).
The problem: when I play any animation using entity.playAnimation(...), the BlendShapes stop responding. Calling setBlendShapes(...) still logs that weights are being updated, but the visual changes are not visible.
The exact same blend shape animation works perfectly when no animation is playing.
In SceneKit the same model works as expected: shape keys get animated during animation playback. But not in realitykit
Still, as soon as an animation starts, the shape keys don’t animate anymore.
Here’s the test project on GitHub that demonstrates the issue clearly:
https://github.com/IAMTHEBURT/RealityKitWitnBlendShapesSample
The goal is to play facial expressions (like blinking or talking) while a body animation (like waving) is playing.
Is this a known limitation in RealityKit? Or is there a recommended way to combine skeletal animations with real-time BlendShape updates?
Thanks in advance for any insights.
I’ve added two recurring leaderboards to my app and the user interface for the Game Center leaderboards pops up when expected and it lists the leaderboards but when you click on them it says “Have Fun With Friends” and lists some of my contacts instead of any scores. The status under Apple Connect is “Not Live” and I’m wondering how to activate them. App has been approved for external beta testing. On a related note, on my iPad it doesn’t display correctly, it says “Game Center” at the top but the rest of the UI doesn’t appear, just blackness.
I’m trying to play an Apple Immersive video in the .aivu format using VideoPlayerComponent using the official documentation found here:
https://developer.apple.com/documentation/RealityKit/VideoPlayerComponent
Here is a simplified version of the code I'm running in another application:
import SwiftUI
import RealityKit
import AVFoundation
struct ImmersiveView: View {
var body: some View {
RealityView { content in
let player = AVPlayer(url: Bundle.main.url(forResource: "Apple_Immersive_Video_Beach", withExtension: "aivu")!)
let videoEntity = Entity()
var videoPlayerComponent = VideoPlayerComponent(avPlayer: player)
videoPlayerComponent.desiredImmersiveViewingMode = .full
videoPlayerComponent.desiredViewingMode = .stereo
player.play()
videoEntity.components.set(videoPlayerComponent)
content.add(videoEntity)
}
}
}
Full code is here:
https://github.com/tomkrikorian/AIVU-VideoPlayerComponentIssueSample
But the video does not play in my project even though the file is correct (It can be played in Apple Immersive Video Utility) and I’m getting this error when the app crashes:
App VideoPlayer+Component Caption: onComponentDidUpdate Media Type is invalid
Domain=SpatialAudioServicesErrorDomain Code=2020631397 "xpc error" UserInfo={NSLocalizedDescription=xpc error}
CA_UISoundClient.cpp:436 Got error -4 attempting to SetIntendedSpatialAudioExperience
[0x101257490|InputElement #0|Initialize] Number of channels = 0 in AudioChannelLayout does not match number of channels = 2 in stream format.
Video I’m using is the official sample that can be found here but tried several different files shot from my clients and the same error are displayed so the issue is definitely not the files but on the RealityKit side of things:
https://developer.apple.com/documentation/immersivemediasupport/authoring-apple-immersive-video
Steps to reproduce the issue:
- Open AIVUPlayerSample project and run. Look at the logs.
All code can be found in ImmersiveView.swift
Sample file is included in the project
Expected results:
If I followed the documentation and samples provided, I should see my video played in full immersive mode inside my ImmersiveSpace.
Am i doing something wrong in the code? I'm basically following the documentation here.

Hello all... is there a way to close a contour if you have found say two points on each side top "extension"? see image attached. So in end desire a trapezoid type shape. Code example would be very appreciated. thank you :) Think I have it as a CGPath. So a way to edit a CGPath, or close the top from a top left to a top right point?
Hey all — I’ve been building out my first set of Game Center Achievements for a game I’m working on, and I’ve run into something odd with the image quality.
The specs say to upload icons at 512x512 or 1024x1024@2x. I’ve been uploading 1024x1024 PNGs (without explicitly naming them “@2x” since there’s only one upload slot), assuming that Game Center would just handle the scaling automatically — kind of like how a lot of things are getting more streamlined across platforms lately.
But in testing, the icons are showing up a bit blurry, especially in the Game Center interface. It’s not horrible, but it’s definitely softer than I expected — more like low-res than Retina.
All my test devices (outside the Simulator) are running iOS 26, so I’m also wondering if this might be a beta-related display bug?
Has anyone else run into this? Curious if I’m missing a best practice here, or if I really do need to ensure I’m uploading it with the @2x suffix, or maybe something else entirely?
Thanks!
In the SceneKit framework, I want to render a point cloud and need to set the minimumPointScreenSpaceRadius property of the SCNGeometryElement class, but it doesn't work. I searched for related issues on the Internet, but didn't get a final solution.
Here is my code:
- (SCNGeometry *)createGeometryWithVector3Data:(NSData *)vData colorData: (NSData * _Nullable)cData{
int stride = sizeof(SCNVector3);
long count = vData.length / stride;
SCNGeometrySource *dataSource = [SCNGeometrySource geometrySourceWithData:vData
semantic:SCNGeometrySourceSemanticVertex
vectorCount:count
floatComponents:YES
componentsPerVector:3
bytesPerComponent:sizeof(float)
dataOffset:0
dataStride:stride];
SCNGeometryElement *element = [SCNGeometryElement geometryElementWithData:nil
primitiveType:SCNGeometryPrimitiveTypePoint
primitiveCount:count
bytesPerIndex:sizeof(int)];
element.minimumPointScreenSpaceRadius = 1.0; // not work
element.maximumPointScreenSpaceRadius = 20.0;
SCNGeometry *pointCloudGeometry;
SCNGeometrySource *colorSource;
if (cData && cData.length != 0) {
colorSource = [SCNGeometrySource geometrySourceWithData:cData
semantic:SCNGeometrySourceSemanticColor
vectorCount:count
floatComponents:YES
componentsPerVector:3
bytesPerComponent:sizeof(float)
dataOffset:0
dataStride:stride];
pointCloudGeometry = [SCNGeometry geometryWithSources:@[dataSource, colorSource] elements:@[element]];
} else {
pointCloudGeometry = [SCNGeometry geometryWithSources:@[dataSource] elements:@[element]];
}
return pointCloudGeometry;
}
How can I paste a string to the findNavigator of a TextEditor ?

Hey, i have created a game in unity with the apple core and apple gamekit plugins present. I setup 5 leaderboards on the app store connect. I made a unity build and did the whole testflight build loop to test everything. When i open my gamecenter panel via the button i see my leaderboards but they show as MISSING TITLE which is weird because i have for sure set them up correctly they have a leaderboard reference name and leaderboard id as well. When debugging i can see that when i call my submit score function it gets submitted with no error but then i also dont see the score appear anywhere .
Keep in mind the leaderboards are not live and are being tested on testflight first
I'm implementing optimized matmul on metal: https://github.com/crynux-ai/metal-matmul/blob/main/metal/1_shared_mem.metal
I notice that performance is significantly different with different threadgroup memory set in
[computeEncoder setThreadgroupMemoryLength]
All other lines are exactly same, the only difference is this parameter.
Matmul performance is roughly 250 GFLops if I set 32768 (max bytes allowed on this M1 Max),
but 400 GFLops if I set 8192.
Why does this happen? How can I optimize it?

Hi, is there any way to use front camera to do the motion capture?
I want recognize if the user raised there hands up with the front camera on iPhone.
I was able to do it with the back camera, not the front.
Also, if there is any sample code, or document, I would be super happy.
Waiting for your reply!!

Dear Apple, there is still no support for WebGPU via WebView. Do you have a roadmap on when you plan to support it? That would be very helpful to release our new game.

The game physics work as expected using GTPK 2.0 using Crossover 24 or Whisky. However, using GPTK 2.1 with Crossover 25, the player and camera physics misbehave. See https://www.reddit.com/r/WWEGames/comments/1jx9mph/the_siamese_elbow/ and https://www.reddit.com/r/WWEGames/comments/1jx9ow4/camera_glitch/

I have also submitted this bug via the feedback assistant.
I'm trying to get video material to work on an imported 3D asset, and this asset is a USDC file. There's actually an example in this WWDC video from Apple. You can see it running on the flag in this airplane, but there are no examples of this, and there are no other examples on the internet. Does anybody know how to do this?
You can look at 10:34 in this video.
