My notarization submission been "In Progress" status for over 30 minutes now. I thought this process should be much faster.

I am building an electron app bundled with python. My code signing was fast, but when it came to notarization, it has already taken over 6+ hours. How can I speed things up?
Hey, when I try to launch my app it prompts me with a "Apple could not verify" popup. The thing is the app has been signed and stapled.
xcrun stapler validate .app for my app returns "The validate action worked!"
If I also run syspolicy_check distribution .app it returns: "App passed all pre-distribution checks and is ready for distribution"
Any idea?
My notary service has been stuck for more than 5 hours. Is it because i am a new user or there is an notary service outage.
The problem is the following:
We create a keychain item called NotaryTool (There are multiple accounts that use Notary tool and we created it for all of them )
This is created in the following way:
$ xcrun notarytool store-credentials
This process stores your credentials securely in the Keychain. You reference these credentials later using a profile name.
Profile name:
NotaryTool
We recommend using App Store Connect API keys for authentication. If you'd like to authenticate with an Apple ID and app-specific password instead, leave this unspecified.
Path to App Store Connect API private key:
//AuthKey_ABCDEFGH.p8
App Store Connect API Key ID:
<ABCDEFGH>
App Store Connect API Issuer ID:
ABCDEF-ABCD-1234-1234-1234567
Validating your credentials...
Success. Credentials validated.
Credentials saved to Keychain.
To use them, specify `--keychain-profile "NotaryTool"`
The key is downloaded from Apple and some other IDs are provided alongside.
These should remain in the keychain for as long as the user process is running (just like any other process)
A few runs are successful when we run with the profile that was created.
After a few runs we start seeing a failure.
Now we are seeing the following issue where the keychain item just vanishes:
Error: No Keychain password item found for profile: NotaryTool\n\nRun 'notarytool store-credentials' to create another credential profile.\nError during the not process\nTue Aug 26 06:02:09 2025 Notarization failed with notarytool with exit code 17664: \nTue Aug 26 06:02:09 2025 could not upload for notarization!!!

Hello Colleagues,
We have been seeing a delay in our Apple notarization submission that hangs for hours "in progress" without completing:
This issue has been occurring since Friday, October 17th.
We have also checked the Apple System Status page and there is no indication of any outage for Apple notarization.
I've submitted my app, signed with a new Developer Id Certificate for a distribution outside of the App Store, 88 hours ago.
xcrun notarytool history ...
Shows the submission as "In Progress".
xcrun notarytool log ...
Tells me "Submission log is not yet available or submissionId does not exist".
I don't know if that's expected for an "In Progress" submission.
As far as I can tell the signing worked without problems. I'm using the Tauri toolchain, which under its hood is using notarytool.
How long can I expect this to take? If there is a problem with my submission does the status just stay on "In Progress" or do I get an error?
Thanks

Hi Team,
i'm running into same issue with notarization time. I create new, small app for a customer but however the notarization is running since this morning, so almost a few hours.
This isn't normal or ?
Is there anything what i can do ?
Best regard,
Lars

Can someone please explain why Mac app packaging is so farcically convoluted?
Windows app packaging can be picked up in an hour or so.
But I've spent longer trying to fathom how to package the Mac version than I did building the app.
And it's not done with me yet.
Every single line of code requires a deep dive into a new, unrelated skillset.
So, it’s sidebar after sidebar.
Kafka’s ‘The Trial’ comes to mind.
Why does it have to be like this?

Hi, I'm currently at 19 hours waiting for notarization. My dev account is new and this is the first time I'm submitting anything to be notarized. I've gathered from my research that this is normal (unfortunately). I figure the only thing I can do is wait, but is there any way for me to know if I'm waiting for a human to manually review it? I was going to file a support request, but I saw that they won't be responding to any support requests until after their Thanksgiving break, and I assume nobody is manually reviewing notary submissions for the next week+. I attached the submission below, thanks!

App Notarization got stuck, showing In-Progress from last 24 hrs.
This is really frustrating. Can anyone plz update on this?
We package a nightly build of our application for distribution. About 1 month ago, this package has started showing the "Apple could not verify 'Application' is free of malware" message.
This only happens to our development branch package. We run the same pipeline with the same signature for our stable branch and the stable package does not show this message.

We distribute this via dmg. The notarization ticket is stapled to the dmg and the dmg opens without warning.

Notarization Rejects Valid Developer ID Certificates - Apple Infrastructure Issue?
Environment
macOS: 15.6.1
Xcode: 26.0.1
Architecture: arm64 (Apple Silicon)
Team ID: W----------
Certificate Status: Valid until 2030 (verified on developer.apple.com)
Problem
Apple's notarization service consistently rejected properly signed packages with error:
"The binary is not signed with a valid Developer ID certificate."
Despite:
✅ Valid certificates on developer.apple.com
✅ Local signing succeeds (codesign --verify passes)
✅ Proper certificate/key pairing verified
✅ Package structure correct
Failed Submission IDs

da6fa563-ba21-4f9e-b677-80769bd23340
What I've Tried
Re-downloaded fresh certificates from Apple Developer Portal
Verified certificate chain locally
Tested with multiple different builds
Confirmed Team ID matches across all configurations
Verified no unsigned nested components
Waited 3 months for potential propagation delays
Verified all agreements are current and accepted
Re-tested with minimal test package - same error persists
Local Verification
# Certificates present and valid
security find-identity -v -p codesigning | grep "Developer ID"
1) XXXXXXXXXX "Developer ID Application: <<REDACTED>> (W----------)"
2) XXXXXXXXXX "Developer ID Installer: <<REDACTED>> (W----------)"
# Signing succeeds
codesign --verify --deep --strict --verbose=2 [app] → Success
Question
This appears similar to thread #784184. After 3 months and ensuring all agreements are signed, the issue persists with identical error.
The certificates work for local signing but Apple's notarization service rejects them. Could this be:
Backend infrastructure issue with Team ID W----------?
Certificate not properly registered in Apple's notarization database?
Known issue requiring Apple Support intervention?
Has anyone else experienced valid Developer ID certificates being rejected specifically by the notarization service while working locally?

I have a misterous problem with checking DMG notarization.
It fails:
bash-3.2$ spctl -a -t open --context context:primary-signature -v MyApp.dmg
MyApp: rejected
source=no usable signature
However this DMG installs fine on Big Sur 11.2.2, macOS allows to run this app, and checking of notarization for installed app was passed:
bash-3.2$ spctl -a -v '/Applications/MyApp.app'
/Applications/MyApp.app: accepted
source=Notarized Developer ID
I checked other downloaded apps (Intel or Universal). Some DMG files pass DMG notarization (for example, Audacity), and some fails (PerfectTablePlan). Why?
For my app (Universal) I use the following code to codesign and notarize:
codesign --timestamp --options runtime --force --deep -s "Developer ID Application: MYCOMPANY" "My.app"
// Creating DMG with EULA license
xcrun altool --notarize-app --primary-bundle-id MyApp -u "my@email.com" -p "abc123" --file MyApp.dmg
xcrun stapler staple MyApp.dmg
I started a notarization run a few hours ago. (and used --wait)

Hello,
For my macOS app,
on Xcode version 15.4 (15F31d)
on macOS 14.5 (23F79)
I follow
Organizer > Distribute App > Direct Distribution, and I get a Notary Error "The operation couldn't be completed. (SotoS3.S3ErrorType.multipart error 1.)"
It's been happening since 3 days.
In the IDEDistribution.verbose.log file I see:

Hello,
Our company's software successfully passes the notarization process when exported through Xcode Archive and compressed into a zip file. However, it fails notarization when packaged into a pkg using the Packages software (version 1.2.10), consistently returning the error "The signature of the binary is invalid." We need assistance to resolve this issue.
Here are some specific details on the signature statuses and notarization information:

Thank you.
Hi at all, we started a notarization process and after 3 hours is still in progress.
