Allow editing posts for longer on the Developer Forums

It would be helpful to be able to edit forum posts for longer (ideally indefinitely) after posting and to have a GitHub issues style edit history.

Yeah, that’s the challenge. Supporting indefinite edits without this edit history is worrisome IMO, and the forums platform does not currently support anything like this.

Some people have recommended switching to the Discourse forum software used by other forums like the Swift forums. It allows editing posts for longer and has an edit history feature. Discourse also has many other features that the Apple Developer Forums don't have.
